The price increase, which will be effective for all orders placed on or after March 1, 2006, will be approximately 5 percent for network power applications and approximately 8 percent for motive power. The increase for Industrial Energy batteries follows a series of pricing actions that have been implemented recently by Exide's Transportation Americas division.

BOSTON (MarketWatch) -- Partners Biogen Idec and Elan Pharmaceuticals said early Monday that the Food and Drug Administration will meet in early March to discuss the fate of their recalled multiple sclerosis drug Tysabri.

According to the companies, the FDA's panel on neurology drugs will meet on March 7 to discuss what sort of prescribing restrictions the drug, which had been hailed as a breakthrough in the treatment of MS, should carry if it is put back on the market.
