ROTFLMAO!! Zeptepi is an Ancient Egyptian term. Mythologically, zeptepi refers to THE first time - the time when the world was created and the Gods walked the earth. This was a time of perfection, when all was well and everything worked as it should.

Business Wire - May 26, 2006 12:59 PM (EDT)
Jump to first matched term
KNOXVILLE, Tenn., May 26, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- National Coal Corp. (Nasdaq: NCOC), a Central Appalachian coal producer, is pleased to announce the appointment of Daniel A. Roling to serve as Chief Executive Officer. He replaces Jon E. Nix, the founder of National Coal, who has served as CEO for three years and who will remain as Chairman of its Board of Directors. Mr. Roling previously worked with Merrill Lynch (NYSE: MER) as its First Vice President and Global Senior Metals and Mining Analyst.
"This is a tremendous opportunity for me, after studying the coal business for over twenty-five years, to take a leadership role on the 'ground floor' of a young but aggressive coal company," said Roling.
National Coal's Board of Directors approved Mr. Roling's appointment this month in keeping with plans for succession of its senior management. Mr. Nix is to remain as Chairman and will continue to be involved in setting the Company's strategic direction. Mr. Roling is expected to officially begin his responsibilities in the third quarter of 2006, after he concludes his responsibilities to his current employer.
"This change will improve the overall leadership capabilities of our management team," explained Mr. Nix. "This appointment is the critical next step in providing National Coal with the resources and talent to aggressively manage planned future growth and to increase shareholder value. I look forward to the contributions Dan will bring to this team."
Mr. Roling steps in at a time of expansion for National Coal. This summer, National Coal plans on opening a surface mine, a highwall mine, and an underground mine on its owned reserves in Tennessee and is administrating a number of infrastructure projects that will improve future opportunities. As CEO, Dan's responsibilities will include furthering the development of the Company's mineral reserves and capitalizing on new opportunities for growth.
"He brings to National Coal strong industry knowledge that will undoubtedly aid in the development and execution of proven financial and operational strategies designed to continue our track record of consistent growth," said Robert Heinlein, Director on National Coal's Board of Directors, Chairman of its Audit Committee, and the Board of Directors' financial expert.
Mr. Roling comes to National Coal after having served as an influential financial analyst in the metals and mining industries for more than 25 years. He joined Merrill Lynch in 1981 and has since been ranked on both the Institutional Investor's All-American Research Team and the Greenwich Associates' poll. Dan is also a long-standing member of the National Coal Council. He holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Iowa and an MBA from the University of Kansas. He is a certified public accountant (CPA) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

ZIXI news - Zix Corporation Selected to Participate in Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina ePrescribe(SM) Initiative; PocketScript(R) Certified to Participate in Electronic Prescribing Initiative
May 25, 2006 11:51:13 (ET)
DALLAS, May 25, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Zix Corporation (ZixCorp(R)), (ZIXI, Trade), the leader in hosted services for email encryption and e-prescribing, today announced Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina (BCBSNC), the state's largest health insurer, has selected ZixCorp to participate in its ePrescribe program, which targets 1,000 North Carolina physicians for adoption of electronic prescribing technology. This deal was announced earlier by ZixCorp as a 500 physician initiative by an unidentified payor in the Southeast. The purpose of this release is to provide more detail on the initiative.
"We're very excited about adding ZixCorp to our list of approved electronic prescribing vendors," said Dr. Ron Smith, vice president of Corporate Pharmacy with BCBSNC. "A select group of doctors in North Carolina will have the opportunity to work directly with ZixCorp and to deploy the proven PocketScript technology in their practice."
The collaborative program estimates that electronic prescribing can generate drug cost savings of approximately $250 per doctor per month because of increased use of generics, avoidance of unnecessary or inappropriate prescriptions and other efficiencies. A similar electronic prescribing program in Massachusetts found that physicians report a timesaving of up to two hours a day. Thirty-five percent of physicians also reported positive patient care benefits such as increased accuracy and the ability to check for drug interactions. BCBSNC estimates its physicians and members could save millions of dollars in medical costs when the technology is fully deployed across the state.
"BCBSNC joins other Blue Cross plans in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and Louisiana in selecting PocketScript as a major part of new e-prescribing state-wide initiatives," said Rick Spurr, chief executive officer for ZixCorp. "In addition to demonstrating increasing momentum for e-prescribing in general, the inclusion in Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina's plan represents a new geographic region for ZixCorp and will help broaden awareness and adoption of e-prescribing in this part of the country. I'm excited to see continued expanding interest in the benefits that PocketScript can bring -- including increased efficiency, generic prescribing, and patient safety."
The prescriptions are transmitted by users of ZixCorp's PocketScript e-prescribing service, which enables physicians to write prescriptions electronically and send them directly to pharmacies through either a wireless handheld PDA or a secure Web site. The application also includes formulary information, a drug reference guide, drug-to-drug and drug-to-allergy checking, and patient-specific drug-dispensed lists.
Recruiting for this program has begun and deployments are expected to begin in June.

MasterCard's IPO: 'Priceless' opportunity?
The firm's public offering will raise $650 million. Morningstar predicts MasterCard's share price will double after the company goes public.
By Morningstar
In one of the highest-profile initial public offerings in this year, MasterCard expects to begin its life as a public company tomorrow (May 24). The firm plans on selling about 61.5 million shares, or about 46% of the company, at an estimated price range of $40 to $43 a share. At this price, we think the IPO looks like a bargain, given our $80 fair-value estimate.
If I was talking about that (not that it's happened) I'd be bagging (maybe double bagging) not bragging.

Driver Has 18 Times Legal Alcohol Limit

VILNIUS, Lithuania
Lithuanian police were so astonished when they pulled over a truck driver and his breathalyzer test registered 18 times the legal alcohol limit, they thought their testing device must be broken. It wasn't.
Police said Tuesday 41-year-old Vidmantas Sungaila registered 7.27 grams per liter of alcohol in his blood repeatedly on different devices when he was pulled over for driving his truck down the center of a two-lane highway 60 miles from the capital, Vilnius on Saturday.
Lithuania's legal limit is 0.4 grams per liter.
"This guy should have been lying dead, but he was still driving. It must be an unofficial national record," Saulius Skvernelis, the director of the national police traffic control service, told the AP. "He was of high spirits and grinning the whole time he was questioned."
Medical experts say anything above 3.5 grams per liter of alcohol in the blood is lethal for most people.
"A person this intoxicated should be in an intensive care unit, not behind the wheel," said Tautvydas Zikaras, head of the dependence illness center in the country's second-largest city, Kaunas. Zikaras said he had never heard or read of someone being so drunk.
Sungaila, who was slapped with a 3,000 litas ($1,110) fine and the loss of his license for up to three years, told police he had been drinking the night before and tried to freshen up by downing a pint of beer for breakfast.
Lithuania has one of the worst road safety records in the European Union. Last year, 760 people died in traffic accidents in this country of 3.5 million residents. Most were alcohol-related.

Hurricane Center Predicts Calmer Season
By LAURA WIDES-MUNOZ, Associated Press Writer 1 hour, 33 minutes ago
MIAMI - A hectic, above-normal tropical storm season could produce between four and six major hurricanes in the Atlantic Ocean and Gulf of Mexico this year, but conditions don't appear ripe for a repeat of 2005's record activity, the
National Hurricane Center predicted Monday.
There will be up to 16 named storms, the center predicted, which would be significantly less than last year's record 27. Still, people in coastal regions should prepare for the possibility of major storms, said Max Mayfield, the National Hurricane Center director.
"One hurricane hitting where you live is enough to make it a bad season," Mayfield told reporters.
Last year, officials predicted 12 to 15 tropical storms, seven to nine of them becoming hurricanes, and three to five of those hurricanes being major, with winds of at least 111 mph.
But the season turned out to be much busier, breaking records that had stood since 1851. Last season there were 15 hurricanes, seven of which were Category 3 or higher.
In the center's detailed 2006 prediction report, meteorologists said water in the Atlantic is not as warm as it was at this stage in 2005. Warm water is a key fuel for hurricane development.
Also, it is not clear whether atmospheric conditions that helped produce the 2005 storms will repeat again this year, forecasters said. And, it appears that the Pacific Ocean water conditions known as El Nino and La Nina will not have any impact on the Atlantic hurricane season this year, forecasters said.
The Atlantic seasons were relatively mild from the 1970s through 1994. Since then, all but two years have been above normal. Experts say the world is in the midst of a 20-year-cycle that will continue to bring strong storms.
Between 1995 and 2005, the Atlantic season has averaged 15 named storms, just over eight named hurricanes and four major hurricanes, according to the National Hurricane Center. Before this latest above-normal cycle, from 1971 to 1994, there were an average of 8.5 named storms, five hurricanes and just over one major hurricane.
The Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to Nov. 30.

Injured Husband Talks to Action News
Exclusive Television Interview
WPVI
TIOGA-NICETOWN - May 17, 2006 - A Philadelphia man is recovering from an attack, allegedly at the hands of his wife. The assault on his private parts has become public knowledge. In an interview with Action News after his release from, the 52-year-old victim spoke of his terrifying ordeal.
The 52-year-old Tioga-Nicetown man, who we are identifying only by his first name of Howard, arrived home late Wednesday, hours after his wife allegedly tore off two parts of his genitalia with her bare hands. Surgeons at Einstein successfully managed to repair the damage.
Howard/Tioga-Nicetown: "Doctors did a beautiful job in E.R. and the paramedics did a wonderful job, they only took 4 minutes to get here."
Howard says his 40-year-old wife Monica, who he says is bi-polar, somehow conceived the notion that he was cheating on her. So while he was asleep last night, she attacked him.
Police outside the home in Tioga-Nicetown following the domestic incident early Tuesday morning.
Howard: "I mean she just grabbed me all down there and yanking and yanking and tearing me up with those fingernails."
Police and paramedics rushed to the man's row home in the 3800 block of Pulaski where they found him bleeding profusely. He was rushed to Einstein where doctors first labeled his condition critical. He was later upgraded to stable after having reattachment surgery and a few doses of morphine. Howard still cannot believe his wife of 11 years would allegedly do this him.
Howard: "I can see doing something like that to a rapist, or mugger but not a husband, not something like..."
Dann: "She thought that you were cheating on her?"
Howard: "I wasn't cheating on nobody, I'm home in bed at 8' 0 clock every night, I mean I'm not out there messing around."
Brian Lawson/neighbor: "I mean men cringing when they hear the story, I mean uh, I'm just cringing thinking about it."
Antoinette Fortune/Neighbor: "Who would wanna do something like that?"
Unidentified Neighbor: "That's kinda nasty. That's drastic isn't it? He's lucky to be alive."
Some neighbors say Howard's had problems with his wife before and has thrown her out only to let her back in. They worry what'll happen next.
Dann Cuellar: "Howard, you're not gonna let her back in here are you?"
Howard: "Oh no, no, no. She's in jail where she belongs."
At one point, Howard's wife Monica was facing attempted murder charges but now, the D.A.'s office has asked that a psychiatric evaluation be performed before any charges are filed.
