Put in a limit order to buy at .175 and it will get filled. Mine took about 20 minutes.
Ombow,
The car insurance argument is a perfect illustration of my point. Yes, I want everybody that drives a car to be forced to carry insurance. There are 2 differences though.
#1. Car insurance is available in the free market.
#2. A citizen can choose to not drive a car and therefore not pay for car insurance.
This healthcare bill puts one in debt from the day they are born. As a Christian, how can you in your wildest dreams think this is God's will?
You also err by assuming the government will get you good coverage at a fair price. When you're the only game in town, you have a monopoly. Also, imagine if you will, the government tells you in 2 years that as part of your mandatory health coverage, you need to take a vaccine due to some pandemic. As a side effect of the vaccine, the number "666" appears etched on your right hand. You have no choice, you have to take the vaccine.
Are you starting to get it yet? Don't ever trust the government at their word. Everything they do has hidden dangers. The "Patriot Act" created "Homeland Security". Pretty soon, that same "security force" will be coming after Patriots that spout the Constitution as being domestic terrorists. Ever hear of the Nazi's? Remember the Salem witch trials?
Always keep your guard up. These things happen by gradualism. Too many people are drinking Kool-aid. Done be one of them.
MF4
Ombow,
In a nutshell, the problem with the healthcare bill is that it forces one to have (and pay for) health insurance. There is nothing in the Constitution that allows this. Yet, the evil democrats put their political agenda above the law of the land using tricks, backroom deals and coersion to push an unconstitutional bill.
You can argue that what they did was a good thing for most. Perhaps some parts of it are? But, we won't know until 2014. Besides when was the last time the government ran anything well?
The bottom line is government was never meant to have this much power or control over individual rights. This President has no respect for America. It's not about Conservative vs. Liberal. He pledged to defend the Constitution, Obviously, those were just words.
MF4
The reason Obama etc. are hell-bent on passing this legislation, even though it will lead to the public voting the dems out in November, is because it gets the foot in the door towards total control. The IRS can now sieze assets if you don't buy healthcare. Meanwhile non-US citizens are covered and NOT required to purchase insurance.
The puppet-masters think they have their hands around our necks now. They are using every thug tactic in the book to take over fully. As far as I'm concerned we have an enemy force running the country. They wipe their you know whats with the Constitution.
More TV please,
MF4
iggs,
Believe me, I'm no apologist. But, at this point, what is being accomplished by ranting on Ihub? I feel just as frustrated, but since I know nothing I say or do will have any effect, I just keep cool, occasionally check in and emotionally CORX is dead to me.
For your own sake, if you are not willing to go to Irvine and meet with management or call them to express yourself, you should learn to let it go.
MF4
I suggest everybody send $10 to the "Send iggs to Irvine Fund". When he gets there, he can park his rented car in the parking lot and take pictures of the comings and goings of the crack team at Cortex. Hopefully the fund will have enough extra so he can buy a clean shirt at K-Mart, then actually take a tour of the place.
While passing through some 10 years ago, I did just that. I was taken on a tour by one of the Gary's and was sufficiently impressed to invest more money.
What do you say iggs, you up for it?
MF4
Ah, the missing piece. Now it's straight to da moon!
MF4
I predict a partnership with PFE or AZN. No insider info. Just an uninformed (I'll save Neuro the trouble of saying it) guess by the end of Q1.
MF4
Blade,
I don't follow MDVN. But, on the surface it appears that their management had a collaboration. Kudos to them. So the drug failed. Is that the story?
CORX has had "positive" results and failed to deliver any collaborations in 5+ years. No partnerships. Nothing. Deals within 45 days and yet zero ever materialized.
Are the white knights blind, paid shills, or just have their egos so tied up in their purchase of CORX years ago that they can't admit they made a mistake?
Why try to discredit posters that point out the obvious? It makes them look silly. I just get tired of self-appointed know-it-alls that try to discredit those with differing opinions, when their opinions have shown no greater degree of accuracy over the years. AMEN!
MF4
Amen Haysaw
MF4
Due to it's performance in my portfolio, I've started calling this company Nevergreen Solar. NSLR should be their new ticker symbol. It's available.
MF4
Is there anything these guys can do that will cause their stock price to ever go up? Lower lows every day. It will be a penny stock in no time. Why are they having so much trouble?
I expect the censors will delete the last 20 posts or so. Personally, I like the discussion. It's not like Cortex had any news to discuss for the last year or two.
I might as well chime in. Maybe a few will get to read it before they delete me. It seems that the internet has allowed those with varied perspectives to post information anonymously, which has allowed those people with exposure to sensitive information to let others know about things they see, or suspect those in power of doing that are anathema to humanity.
20 years ago, I believed that the U.S. was a force for good in the world. Now I see how everything we've done is just a push towards imperialism. Now we see that those elected to the highest offices are put in that position by mechanisms that are controlled by the globalists. Media is owned. Laws are made to control us and keep us down. Etc......
It must drive the globalists crazy that their schemes are being exposed. Climategate via email, as an example.
I make a prediction. As quick as the 1,000 page Patriot act was introduced after the event that spawned it happened. I bet they are feverishly crafting legislation currently that will require all internet users to have a registered IP address that can be linked only to them. It will be introduced as an amendment to the patriot act, or as a new one called something like the "freedom of speech and internet child safety act"
They will probably stage an internet attack where kids gang up on a single kid, who commits suicide or something due to their taunts. Roll in a little sexual predation and video of concerned Moms. Wha-lah, instant legislation.
The good news is that their greed is leading to tons of hard-working, intelligent people, on the verge of losing everything they've worked all their lives for, and concerned about the world their kids will inherit, to not only wake up, but to be pushed into action. True Patriots are being stirred finally.
Here's hoping we take our country back and restore the simplicty of the Constitution. Shrink the government to a tenth it's size. Repurpose the lawyers. Become self-reliant again. May the greatest country rise again from the ashes of the farce it has become. Amen!
OK Mr. Censor. Time to pull the plug I guess.
MF4
I've ridden this thing down from $18. Feeling like I should dump it here. Is there any hope for ESLR to go go over $2 whille I still hold it?
I saw General Urko and Davey hanging around your grapevine.
MF4
treg,
If you're referring to me, go for it. I forgive easy.
MF4
tregaron,
The point is that the Constitution is a living document, a road map that strives to uphold an ideal that seems most in step with the reality in the animal kingdom. None of God's creatures (other than man) has to pay taxes or fees to live freely.
For you to find this principle laughable indicates a blind cynicism. For you to expect a government that has become little more than enforcers of Corporatocracy to enact any laws that ultimately encourage freedom and individualism is naiive at best.
I just heard Hillary giving a little speach about how we must foster freedom of speech on the internet. Sounds good, right? But, also weaved into the obvious message were calls for removing anonymity from the internet and making statements made on the internet punishable in a traditional sense. In other words, if I threaten to kick your A in this message, I could be arrested for assault. Do we really want to go there?
Did you laugh because I used the word creator? I could have used the word God? Would that have been better, or worse?
MF4
tregaron,
I'm glad you have such a good sense of humor. Did you laugh at the holocaust too?
MF4
OT: The problem with non-compliance penalties is that you are forcing a human being to produce funds every month, or be locked up. This is contrary to our creator-given right to exist on the planet free from government persecution.
Not everybody participates in organized American society. That's the beauty of a free country. This compliance requirement seems logical on the surface, but what are they gonna do if jobs continue to flee the country? If 40% of the citizens can't afford health insurance, what are they gonna do, put them all in prison?
Oh yeah, I forgot....That's what the FEMA camps are for. Enforced by foriegn U.N. forces. But, don't listen to me, I'm a crazy conspiracy theorist.
MF4
OMG, Is that a picture of Varney? It looks like he had a devil's horn removed from his forehead. Or maybe he was Jimmy Page in a past life?
MF4
So they got enough money to milk salaries for another year. We knew it wouldn't be a merger or buyout, which would actually be good news. So why is everybody so enthusiastic that salaries can be paid another year? This does nothing to advance the science. What am I missing?
MF4
corwatcher,
They could be swidling the remaining employees too? "We're working on a deal that will give everyone a $200K bonus. Should be completed by March 31. Just hang in there".
MF4
Another possibility is an aquirer has given R & R instructions to sop up all supply at .10 until X number of shares is absorbed, then the take over offer will come.
MF4
iggs,
Don't bother, Varney doesn't read this blog. They can't even afford internet anymore.
Still, I'd love to know what Varney is thinking right now? I'm curious if he has really been trying hard, or if they knew ahead of time that all they wanted to do was defraud investors.
MF4
Well Jerry,
As soon as you can raise $15M, I guess our problems will be solved.
MF4
Alert,
Nit-picker. The term "few", is relative.
MF4
If I had a few million bucks, I'd buy Cortex for $15M. Immediately issue a press release to fund a phase 2 study in ADHD pledging $100M, with the expectation of a $4B revenue source when the drug is approved in 2012.
The shares would open up above $2 and pop to $10. Meanwhile, I'd be selling all my shares for $2+. When I had made $300M in profit, I would issue a press release and say I changed my mind.
Couldn't be any worse than the boobs running the show have done so far. At least we'd get some upward share price momentum. Something I haven't seen in 3 years.
MF4
davidal,
My pessimism has proven correct for the last year. In that light, my pessimistic view is that a $2M PIPE will be announced on Friday.
If they bother to explain anything in a PR, it will say we're buying time and more negotiating leverage. In talks with several interested parties. In other words, SOS.
MF4
GFP,
Sounds like a catch-22
GFP,
It takes a while to line up a buyer at .07 For $10 million. You have to promise tons of warrants and get R & R to agree to keep the stock above a certain level. Then without a credible PR to get a two-day pump and dump, the buyers aren't coming out of the woodwork.
Maybe they can hire someone with a biotech newsletter to print a price target of $.50 Know anybody who'd do it?
MF4
Aiming,
Certainly buy it after the dilutive financing and reverse split. Current shareholders are toast. But, if the Cortex hype machine can retrench and come back with a plausible story and new management, I might get back in if the opportunity was ripe enough.
The difference for me is I will never buy and hold small bio again. I will trade it only.
MF4
2010 Update:
For any of you that have been following the "Is MF4 still with his girlfriend?" barometer for judging Cortex's solvency: I am pleased to report that we are still together. We've had minor corrections all year, but in the end, we love each other and would rather be together (at least at this point).
So, the good news is that since Cortex's demise won't have much more of an impact on me than it already has, the universe will probably allow it to muddle along, and somehow re-invent itself with a reverse split, new CEO, new indication.
This will allow for a whole new round of silly dreamers to get addicted to this silly stock on some new (Ihub-like) BB where all the posters aren't P'd off exes, like crease42. After this experience, it is easy to see how his ilk are spawned. Heck, I will probably be one.
In retrospect, I believe Crease warned us 2 to 3 years ago that this is what COR does. We just didn't want to believe.
Happy New Year,
MF4
Can someone please tell me what PDUFA stands for?
Thanks,
MF4
Bigworld,
I have come to the conclusion that the puppet-masters, who are not pro-US, are intentionally doing all of these fiscally bone-headed things to turn us into Argentina.
Why? So they can cripple the military might of the last great free country that would stand in the way of Globalism, if it hadn't been taken over decades ago by the shadow globalists. And so they can control the national parks and resources of the USA, since we will be so in debt, we will have to sell off assets to cover our debts.
It's obvious! Plus, all of the citizens will be little more than slaves, in short order, as all of our wealth is systematically destroyed. If you own real estate, you know what I mean. If you saved any money, you've earned no interest for 2 or 3 years now. Taxes, fees, licenses, they are all going up. There's not a clean politician left to reform any of it.
Too bad the watchdogs fell asleep. We're toast! Cortex is just another bait and switch loser. Happy Fing new year!
MF4
What is PDUFA?
Enemem,
The only thing one can conclude from management's silence is that they've bugged out of town with whatever loot they could grab. I expect they will assume new identities and live overseas somewhere.
These guys haven't bothered to communicate in any meaningfull way with shareholders for so long, they obviously have no intention of doing so.
In their minds, they might call it "business". In mine, they are as worthless as common thieves.
MF4
Won't the university get the rights back?
Think of Cortex as the Steelers vs. the packers. Down by 6 with seven seconds left. Steelers throw a 20 yard TD at the buzzer and win the game. That's what Cortex is facing at this moment.
Two Mondays left in 2009. Will we get good news tomorrow? Probably not since Friday had low volume.
MF4
iggs,
Though I may agree with you on a number of things, Harrassing Nuero about a 4 year old price target is a bit irrelevant. Back then, we had management that delivered on its promises and timeline (at least half of the time). His price target WAS reasonable.
MF4
Probably true. I put in a market order for 10 shares just to see it print .25 - still hasn't filled. Definitely NOT a transparent marketplace.
UPDATE: It filled at .15 even though the "ask" is .25 on level 2
Perhaps it's more an indicator of the direction the MM will take it in the future?
MF4
