Good afternoon H, thank you, I am happy with the attention this stock is getting. Sorry to hear you missed it. The chart was a screaming buy and still is imo. Someone mentioned a news article in a Jpananese newspaper earlier about a collaboration.
I'll see if I can find it... might be the reason for this push.. who knows.

Vical has multiple independent and collaborative infectious disease vaccine programs:

Astellas Pharma Inc. initiated a multinational 500-patient Phase 3 trial of ASP0113, Vical's investigational therapeutic vaccine designed to control cytomegalovirus (CMV) in transplant recipients, for hematopoietic cell transplant (HCT) recipients in June and expects to initiate a Phase 2 trial of ASP0113 for solid organ transplant (SOT) recipients later this year.

The company is planning to initiate a Phase 1/2 clinical trial of its Vaxfectin(R)-formulated therapeutic vaccine against herpes simplex virus type 2 (HSV-2) before the end of 2013.

The company's Vaxfectin(R)-formulated CyMVectin(TM) prophylactic vaccine, designed to prevent CMV infection before and during pregnancy, has completed preclinical development and has an allowed investigational new drug application (IND). Vical is seeking a partner for further development.

Vical has licensed its proprietary Vaxfectin(R) adjuvant to Bristol-Myers Squibb Company for use in the production of antibodies, and to Cyvax, Inc., a privately held vaccine development company, for use in malaria vaccines. The company is pursuing additional licensing opportunities for Vaxfectin(R).

VICL catalysts coming up which could take the PPS much higher. I have a good feeling about this.

Good morning H...it is a speculative play but with a good PR and lots if buying we should do well holding a position.
Same goes for VICL...did you buy any recently? I added Friday morning when I noticed the street article. I posted some dd on it. A couple of volume days like on Friday should help VICL breaking out.
1.60 would already be nice but with the right news (according to the last CC before the end of 2013) we could fill that gap.

From a technical perspective, VICL rose modestly higher here right above some near-term support at $1.25 with lighter-than-average volume. This stock has been trending sideways inside of a consolidation pattern for the last two months and change, with shares moving between $1.17 on the downside and $1.64 on the upside. This sideways trend is coming after shares of VICL gapped down sharply in August from $3.75 to $1.37 with heavy downside volume. Shares of VICL are now starting to trend within range of triggering a big breakout trade above the upper-end of its consolidating chart pattern. That trade will hit if VICL manages to take out its 50-day at $1.40, and then once it clears more key resistance levels at $1.44 to $1.64 with high volume.
