I don't think I'm going to trade today. Going to be making some calls, etc. and getting some. I have an email in to the registration and compliance site. Not to go into many detail in this open forum...but it looks like about 25K for the entire initial investment...ie software and the regulatory stuff. There would be insurance and the bonding thing, as well as a tri-state licesning thing: you'd want our three states initially. You'd need one in any place you had a client. Most aren't expensive at all, however. I'm just thinking aloud - I would know the exact costs before jumping into all of it...but I'd say 30-35K. Plus there's a separate server.
All in all...to start a biz like this...my initial guess would've been 50K. Not bad for excellent rewards if you succeed.
You picking up any of those? Hey...sent you an email on the first and second year software costs. Havnen't been news-watchin' this morning...making a few calls.
I never even thought about that. Good idea. That's just a horrible way to start the week. I can remember getting called early on a Sat morning when it happened to us. Of course, the most someone could take from my accounts is less than 100 bucks, LOL...so I guess I've got a way to go before they'll hand over the hedge fund keys to me.
I think you have to have a staff to do this well Bud, LOL. The C-man would make more than 200 trades someday at the old HF. I guess that's one reason I'm looking for a better trading style. The momentum one is fairly straightforward with little time involved. But this indepth, time consuming research thing I like to do is for the cycles and long term It takes about 3 hours to search a screen and come up with 2/3 stocks out of 100 or so worth looking at. Then about an hour or so on each of those just to see if they're worth a look.
Bottom line...looks like momo playing until I have real money and can do the necessary research over a few days or so. Some traders stake out companies for weeks - learning about sales, visiting stores, etc. This kind of thing doesn't work on the BB, LOL. A 3 day cycle for Pet's sake is all you'll get if you're lucky, LOL.
The info is just too overwhelming and conflicting at times - partly becaus of different analysts' views. Then - one of the big things to consider is the difference between the industry analysis and the subindustry analysis, which can be huge. For example, S&P likes the "semiconductor" industry, unless you happen to be in the "commodity DRAM / SRAM" parts, LOL. It's fun...but so much info overload might just cause too much caution. Fun to read...what value? No clue. I guess any bit of knowledge edge helps.
LOL. Hey...trying to get good at finding where I can get this stuff quickly. All the trade journals I find require subscriptions.
WHAT'S REALLY IMPORTANT TO KNOW IS COMPANY SPENDING CYCLES. One of the reasons for the potential pop in the stock I called you about - and the group - is because of the beginning - not too long ago - of the cap ex cycle for the big telcos.
I figure I'll be an excellent trader in 2 years. So much to learn.
Looked like good news. I guess, since they had a trial, US has jurisdiction. Would've thought that it would be hard to make a foreign company pay unless something was done thru WTO. Never really looked into these laws governing suits between cos in different countries.
Let's try and find a derivative play...who benefits the most if RMBS has more money to spend?
No doubt. Heck an investment in CAT or Valero would've beaten the pants off most of these things over the last couple years. Heck...despite its troubles...I'm starting to watch UNH, LOL. Will watch the interview on Cramer this week to see if it eases some concerns.
Do you know that stock was just at 90 some cents a couple years ago...C-man is right: the CEO is a money making machine. Maybe he deserves 1.6B in options, LOL.
Starting to think the Law of Large Numbers is catching up with the BB.
Yep.
Out til about 1130. Hope we catch some mad cash this week. Gotta stock to talk about later. Nothing that requires immediate care as they say at the ER.
Sheesh. That happened at AG.
Hope this week is better - more active - than last.
You in FORD? PAPO was on the actives alot while you were gone. Not sure how much it went up.
Shoot only one more post left after this one, LOL. But yeah...i think that's a big stock that you could trade, LOL.
Good move I think.
Don't think I'd try to fill at .112. This thing may drop big...like a major P&D without the P.
Don't like the way L2 is acting on AMEP. Makes me suspect that those quotes are "firm" LOL.
I certainly have had that feeling. Think I might start trading a few bigger stocks if I can find some pullbacks that are undeserved.
Looks to be runnin away without me.
The AMEP gettin the volume.
Looking at chart - alot of action in April...pretty much no heartbeat before then. Hey...you at work? Gotta stock to talk about.
No doubt. Sweet cash.
Working here. Hey...think I'll buy a few shares of SCRH to get a ticket to the annual meeting, LOL. Next stop...insider for Hooters.
Dunno. I'll see if mine is slow.
Yeah...Cramer gave it a 600 dollars target last night. Booyah. Think I'll pick up about ten thousand shares of that to add to my 5 thousand shares of Berkshire Hathaway.
Dunno about that one. Might watch for next PR.
Checked the news about 9. Didn't see anything. Will look at the actives here in a bit.
10 bagger and I could buy ya lunch. Safe trip Bud.
Boring week. No errors but no action. I'm gettin patient in my old age...maybe I can be a trader after all, LOL.
Unreal. Yep...could've gotten all I wanted below 3, LOL. Who knew. I'm just not comfy with the 4B thing. Seems ready for massive R/S. In Dec 04 they had 219MM shares out. Still...got the momo. Hard to put hard earned money in it.
Some nice ut in the Bid on your TLM.
Think you're right...even on a big pullback now I don't think I'd risk INSQ...long weekend...seems ready for major colapse here.
I like the story of the stock I sent you. Still...that business is tough. 7MM market cap a little high as well, although they sigend that deal with the GSA. It's above it's 52-weeks low even with an equity financing behind them. Just not enough volume there yet. I like those Ask prices though, lol.
As far as I know Bud. Yeah...I signed on to see what was happening and it was at .0049. I don't think my stomach could stand holding a pig over a long weekend. If my "overnight" package from AMTD gets here - not sure of their definition of overnight - I'm going to pick up a couple Cramer books over the break. I'd like to read that one about his trading days if they have it. Well...can't complain too much - AMTD did waive the fee to send it overnight.
All three are playing with each others' money, lol. Still...when I get my 400 I'd like to hit an INSQ. Just sick action on that bloated piggy.
Wish I had bought in the 2's lol...thing may hit the 5's today.
No doubt. Market closed tomorrow I believe?
Have almost pulled the trigger on that one several times.
Yeah. Good news no doubt. What ya get in at?
