Or if one speculates that the MJ industry will have major flow of capital, then one should invest in the companies best poised to take the largest slice of it. Penny or not.
Lots of 'gentleman investors' or older folks won't understand this by traditional valuation, because such a large industry flying on the cusp of legality has not been seen in their lifetime. They'll come and offer experiences of how bad share increases are and try to tie those to real world analysis - comparing penny stocks who could have acquired better financing to the Mj companies of today that can't.
The debate will continue, with neither party 100% certain if their claims are valid. Until that inevitable day of validation, I'll keep my core position right here.
Alas, if only there was an industry comparative to cannabis that I could draw from.
An industry not yet legal on a federal level, that banks are holding off from. The very financing that would be most beneficial to PHOT is the same that opponents say would put and end to their GIFT program. Historically, are there any penny stocks we can draw experience from, which had no other forms of financing legally available?
Are we able to analyze a billion $+ industry yet to be fully legal and compare it to how the future leaders in that industry prepared themselves?
Perhaps these are good questions?
I can't answer you, maybe someone else can.
I honestly hope the best for you.
Of course there is plenty of drama, hard to tell if I'm immune to it by now or just don't care.
When investing, I'm looking at the company with more interest than the stock.
So true that a lot is up in the air here, a lot set to land firmly in place as well.
I just always ask myself the same question, what will the industry NEED? The answer I come back to regardless of these down days - Growlife. Can someone come and sweep them? Not from a company standpoint at this time. From a pps standpoint? Of course, there will be volatile low float high swingers. My expectations of phot are not for a massive zing up to a dollar, but for a steady rise over a dollar that stays.
I can only envy your market choices if you choose to get something that rises quickly over a dollar and you sell before the crash down. I cannot however, envy your choice in alternate company for long term investment.
Going great, how are you?
Great post monest!
I would love that! Thank you
Exactly! Keep it going so I can load more on the cheap end.
You do love attention though, let's all give monest a round of applause.
Keep it going!
Specialized cannabis ferts from the Netherlands?
The best fertilizers are already available. Netherlands was in trouble a couple years ago with growers using illegal, potentially toxic ferts.
The fact that the cen biotech license to grow is more than likely to go through, phot should see some correlated benefit going through.
After all, that's a lot of money coming into phot from just one revenue stream.
They can't say when news will be released and it's true they released a lot of good stuff before the meeting.
Cen biotech is a nice big contract.
I'm really more curious lately about the kiosk - would be nice to see movement there.
Only the strong will survive. Many will go under, only few have built the boat.
Heh, says someone who wants to get into phot at the same levels a stock like ri*h is trading at.
Gltu
Thank you for your fair and never biased input. Dilution will be a thing until banks can step in, until Feds say yes.
I wouldn't necessarily say people will 'buy anything' - but you're right that there are terrrrrible plays out there with much more risk than phot which people are latching onto
It is not a 'vending machine thing'
It's a kiosk to regulate purchases and ensure no one is skating by without paying their due.
SA has multiple articles on PHOT - negative and positive.
As for the last article, it was titled 'short' which tells me everything I need to know right there.
Anonymous contributors will probably continue to add articles from both sides of phot, it's really drawing a lot of attention.
it is more important to consider management than articles with agendas. For information refuting the latest article, you need only to read the 400+ comments it generated.
That is strain dependent. There are commercial producer strains that offer high yields but not many are very special IMO.
So much variety in terms of yield, taste and effect. Some genius breeders out there.
Nice to see Someone else with experience in the field.
Jack herrer is terrific, my favorite was the cinnamon phenotype that female seeds co sold for a while.
So many others out there.
How much % of the vote do you think management had? Not even in the teens.
The people voted for it.
Looks like we have some new posters who have been burned by penny stocks before. Please remember there is significant risk in everything. I was cautioned against investing in penny stocks at all by a friend with way more investing knowledge. 2 months later, I showed him my portfolio gains - he was glad I didn't follow his advice.
It's a company that will belong on the NASDAQ, but couldn't start there. It won't happen soon, but federal acceptance will legitimize many of these companies and they will have much higher valuations than today. In the meantime, each state that unlocks more ground for the industry will confirm this legitimacy piece by piece.
Feds just applied recognition to same sex unions that aren't recognized in a majority of states. What do you think they'll do with overwhelming support for cannabis from the majority of states? Consider what they've said about pot in the past couple of months.
In the meantime, positive industry momentum across the nation is adding more and more value to these companies. This company doesn't cross legal boundaries and remains essential to the industry as a whole.
No one should get caught up in irrational exuberance, but an opportunity missed is much worse - IMO.
June time.
Better to get the ugly stuff out of the way early so it doesn't come up in the future I suppose.
I'm curious how other Mj stocks will fund their expansion goals.
Global, do you think the increase is a necessary evil due to the legal restrictions on banks at this time? Or do you view it as pure bad?
News just said worst drought in California in ages...
If only there was more hydroponic produce. This drought may hike produce prices by 10% due to this drought. Could edible gardens become a bigger competitor this way?
Hmmm
It is true, talk about the negatives of a parabolic rise were largely covered on the phot boards in 2013.
The slow and steady rise is overwhelmingly preferred for stability's sake. Always a big question on how far it could drop after such a rise.
Still, the excitement of such a rise could leave us stable in higher highs we never expected to see this year.
I would still be surprised if our stock hit dollar land before yours, but two great companies nonetheless.
Not the first mj&a supporter to come in with an irrational attack, but best of luck!
Proper research will show you it's barely just about lightbulbs, but maybe 2% of their business to be fair to you.
So no news, no updates from the shareholder meeting.
You're telling me the pps went up.... Naturally?!
(Gasp)
Must be voodoo!
Strong belief Trtc will soar. I will be letting go of one of my smaller Mj plays to get in more.
Today is nothing, the big picture is BIG - Trtc has better share structure than most and can be very recently considered a TRUE MJ PLAY.
Guys I just got back from lunch, can someone tell me why we're green? What'd I miss?
Props to you brother on spreading the good karma. I have no doubt we're in two of the best.
All the back and forths are just fluff. Making money to pursue our goals is what it's about.
Respect to you.
I'll sleep just fine, but if they release a guidance on their total direction at this time - I will consider it a bonus.
Even some new news is always nice, but I just don't feel a burning need for it.
It's clear we've gone from equipment supplier to total industry distribution system. I'm not sure I can handle anymore news on acquisitions or partnerships - they're going big as it is.
To me, the only thing they could do more of is either something to do with lab testing or strain/genetic work. There are so many underground breeders that would jump at the chance to crank out their work for the masses.
Look at breeders like dj short, BOG, ojd, DNA genetics, etc. they've been making big $$$ with coffee shops in Amsterdam and seed banks for years now. Imagine the chance to permanently legitimize your strains in the North American market.
For more information on breeders and genetics, please visit the forums at www.icmag.com
In your investing classes, you'll remember that when everyone is yelling sell is the best time to buy ;)
Yup, officers have performance goals to meet before they can sell those shares.
Dilution has been well managed by this company - curious why so much concern all of a sudden. Their staff is the same if not better now. Haven't we been hearing about dilution since .05?
Where did jumpingmullet, dude illigence and Spivster go?
He's a former phot supporter who got caught out on the wrong side of the train tracks.
Painful lessons we learn with money. Reasons I haven't sold a single share in a long time.
Welcome him back with open arms, the scolding of buying in much higher than expected is detriment enough.
This is the Midwest I remember reading posts from.
Cheers!
Exactly, we are just a bunch of spectators placing our bets on the line.
Thanks for your previous reply, haha what an honor to have some stock named after me.
Very uncertain times with the pps. I remain certain of the company's business model though.
There are LOTS of people who don't understand the potential of an emerging cannabis industry either.
I don't blame you for selling and I hope you do get a good position close to your wants.
I've just watched too many say, 'I'm out!' Only to come back and say, 'whoops!'
Enough people with this 'veteran market expertise' have called it wrong for me to remain desensitized.
If I were you though, I'd find it worthwhile to lock down a position in the .20's just in case.
I think we're still getting caught up in a/s vs o/s thoughts here.
I don't think mid-low .20s is unrealistic, but to get to .15 or below you would need a no vote today and you'd need to strip away the partnerships/ventures with fitx/cen, fspm, GPSI, rxnb and a get a crappy earnings report.
You would basically have to whittle Growlife back down to 'just an equipment supplier' to see value like that again.
Perhaps your estimation will be close, or perhaps you will be chasing this one.
I think hemp will get swallowed up by farmers who have the space to use and flood the market with price lowering competition.
I don't think hemp is a smart crop unless there is a specific contract to produce hemp related materials like biodegradable plastic or CBD content.
Replacing toxic cancer causing plastics with biodegradable hemp plastics is damn near genius.
Hard to compete with Americas farmers.
I too can agree with a lot of what he posted.
We aren't out of the fire yet, but the resilience is motivating.
The partnerships and June in Washington state will draw new developments. Do we expect a dry spell of trading sideways for months? I won't rule it out, but I wouldn't call it likely.
You'll find a lot more longs here are realistic rather than exuberant. Blue sky cries and claims we're heading to $1 on whatever day have dashed a lot of hopes. We have been watching PHOT jump hurdles that others will face in their future. This is exciting.
I remain optimistic
La. - nice post.
This brings me back to the good ole days when we were figuring out the scope of this industry as a whole via our posts here. Microbrew compared to micro strain providers and that sort of thing.
since those days, you have definitely outsmarted or impressed me with some of your posts.
Bravo good sir, bravo.
