Agree to a point, sellers on the ask, not willing to sell into the bid, but they have pretty much been hanging out there for a few weeks, off and on. The buyers are sitting trying to pickup their shares at the bid.
Bids are not getting filled I would guess because MM's have no shares unless someone sells into the bid. I think this has been pretty evident the past few days.
Just goes to show that longs are winning here.
Just my opinion.
Twin Air started charging a fuel surcharge in 2011 to offset higher fuel costs. The smaller planes only use a fraction of the fuel, while ticket prices can be near those of major airlines.
From the other applications I've read, it's all about ownership. If AAVG bought out another company, then I'd say yes, the DOT Authorization would stay intact.
But, if another company bought out AAVG and changed the name, then I think the new ownership would have to reapply.
Any changes, even in leadership can cause a review of the DOT authority because it's all certified in the original application.
Thats my take on it.
Once again, either MM's took the .0023's off the ask at the last minute or someone cancelled a sell order, either way it paved the way for someone to purchase some .0024's.
Low volume, but sellers didn't show today.
Can't be made of kryptonite, it would melt the rubber bands that run the propellers.
Because small planes are more enviromentally friendly, they use much less fuel and spill much less in the ocean when they crash. At least thats why I bought in.
Exactually...nicely written.
Agreed 100%, if there is no news worth giving, why give it.
I could almost predict news that would come now.
We can't release anything about Berry, because details with Berry hinge on approval of DOT and CUBA Authority.
We can't release anything on CUBA, because CUBA may very well hinge on DOT Commuter Status.
We are still waiting for word from DOT.
We are still working on the best solution to deal with our Natural Resource Assest.
We continue to fly our charter routes, continue to service aircraft and are working on other project which we can not disclose at this time because they are in negotiations.
Wait, I think we've heard this in emails!!
The above is just my opinion, but am pretty confident it's just about what we would hear right now.
Regarding the whacks and paints, no disrespect meant, but I think people are loosing perspective here. Both whacks and paints serve a purpose, the 2000 share to .0021 enables the MM's to more easily fill the bid order sitting out at .0021. That whack could either be made by the MM or person with the bid order themselves. The paints as they are called, #1 drive the PPS and also benefit the charts. Remember, if no one painted or bought at the ask, stocks would go no where.
I'm not upset that someone is trying to get 500,000 shares @.0021, because my guess is its a long and will hold those shares. Now if this was flippable, which it's not right now, I'd say don't let them pickup those cheaper shares, only because we wouldn't want the flippers taking control.
Yesterday EOD paint for 10,000 (not 500) shares brought the close up 3 ticks, the MM's allowed this, don't think for a second they didn't know it would happen. I really don't care if this drops during the trading day so other can pickup shares on the bid, it's where we close that matters more.
MORE ON DOT CERTIFICATES - Explains the differences between each.
DOT has a number of economic power, it provides: (1) of section 401 certificate of public convenience and necessity for scheduled or charter flights, (2) of section 418 of domestic freight authority, (3) commuter air carrier authority, (4) air taxi operator powers and (5) withdrawal of authority. Type of authority issued by the company, usually based on the type of operation that the company intends to conduct.
A. Companies that want to participate in the operation of air transportation with aircraft with more than 60 seats or 18,000 pounds of payload (the "big airplane") must be certified by either section 401 or section FA Act 418 (the latter which allows all domestic cargo operations only). Companies operating fewer aircraft can receive such authority as well. Any company receiving such authority must be found, "Fit, willing and able" to conduct operations is proposed.
(1) different types of Section 401 authority may be issued, for example, for regular and charter flights serving the internal or external point of carrying passengers / cargo / mail, cargo or mail only. Proof of such a body is composed of the certificate itself, together with its conditions and restrictions. However, it is also a good idea to request a copy of DOT show cause and the final withdrawal of Orders of fit and a certificate.
(2) commuter air carrier is defined as a company that operates the aircraft should have no more than 60 passenger seats, and provides regular passenger service five or more than two flights a week for at least one route according to published flight schedules.
(3) Air taxi operator is defined by DOT, as the company that operates the aircraft should have no more than 60 passenger seats or a cargo load of 18,000 pounds and carries the cargo or mail, either on schedule or charter basis and / or passengers only on the basis of demand. The credentials shall be issued, both the operator of air taxi and commuter air carrier is registered (OST Form 4507), while public transport must be found "Fit", in order to work, just as the carriers get a certificate. In the case of commuter air carrier, when requesting evidence that DOT permits, you will need not only copies of OST Form 4507, as well as a copy of DOT Show Cause Orders and final finding suitable companies to participate in scheduled passenger operations.
I will have more powder tommorrow, today I only had a little, so today I did the first and last trade of the day, just because it made me feel good..lol
Actually would have had more but on the 15th I was put on a "freeride" restriction, for allegedly selling shares purchased with unsettled funds. Which I actually did not do. I challenged this through my broker ING and finally was told tonight it was a flaw in their system and the retriction will be lifted.
Here's what happened, just in case someone else runs into this.
I held 605,000 shares in a stock, I added 195,000 (800,000 total)shares using unsettled funds, which is totally acceptable. Slightly less than 3 days later, I sold 600,000 shares, leaving 200,000 shares intact and unsold. The system only saw that I sold the stock and not that I left more than bought using the unsettled funds. I finally got a senior trade account person who agreed with me.
Freeriding means you can't sell the shares you purchased using unsettle funds before the funds settle, it does not mean you can't sell off shares that you previously purchased in the same stock.
Passing this along just in case someone runs into this in the future.
and when we get to .01 that $24 order will make $76 extra profit!
Also means no longs selling, all the weak hands are getting transferred to the strong longs.
It takes a big set of Kahunas to stay long in pennyland, we have lots here!!
AAVG
Trading is way down on all my holdings today, have one that only traded 1500 shares..lol
I took some time to do research on DOT Commuter Air Carrier applications and time span involved.
I used three random applications, all of which have received approval.
The time from application to final approval was 6-8 months.
(All of the above also had DOT "Requests for additional information")
Time from submission of request of additional information to final approval was approx 2-3 months.
None of the above had a time span that traversed a calender year. I know that the changeover of calender years in a government agency adds weeks to any timeframe.
One thing I found is that before final DOT approval comes, they will issue a "Show Cause", this advises the public that they are ready to issue approval and gives the public and other carriers a chance to make submission of any reason why the approval should not be granted. Approvals followed as early as 3 weeks after the "Show Cause".
My feeling is that Twin Air should be seeing the "Show Cause" any day. Show Cause basically says, DOT has made their decision based on the application and if no one has any reason to object, final operational approval will be made.
One other thing I found was that in the cases where approval was denied, it was very apparent during the process that there was a problem, they were pretty much spelled out in letters to the applicant. Something we have not seen with the AAVG application.
Looks all good for AAVG, IMO
Hope this sheds some light on the process..
and.....
I guess passengers chartering flights regularly are not signs of life.
I guess email responses are not a sign of life.
I guess parcel and mail delivery service to the islands are not signs of life.
I guess the aircraft repair and service component of AAVG is also not any sign of life.
Yup, just like I said would happen. MM's can't short this easily, so after Friday's buying run, MM's must bring this back to pickup shares before they can let the PPS increase. We have seen the appearing and disappearing asks all morning, and the 5k whacks. MM games, nothing more.
AAVG
Ask looks pretty darn thin right about now..
Like I predicted, theres the two little MM whacks back down. They are so predictable.
Laughing at UBSS, all the numbers on their keyboard must be broken except 9's and 0's. If it's not 9999, it's 9000.
Here's to the start of a good week here at AAVG. May the DOT find some time in their busy schedule to send the commuter status approval to Twin Air! After Friday I think MM's will likely attempt to whack this back a tick or two early, put up some fake walls to make us get discouraged. Well, lets not get discouraged, remember, The MM's can't easily short AAVG being on a trade for trade basis, so they can only "fake us out" or actually intice people into selling to get their shares.
Keep the pressure on the ask and MM's are either going to loose money or let this go!
Today we especially need early buys and late buys...IMO of course.
AAVG
I'm starting to like the board again, people upbeat. When we were like this before, AAVG was making steady gains. We started getting negative posts and the stock went flat. Late last week proved that what happens on this board matters.
Seeing good things ahead..
AAVG
Smooth sailing ahead for AAVG !!
I rather have a slow move, less chance of a big gap down by the MM's.
The AAVG Store is open Tuesday, get your shares before supplies are gone, there are only limited inventory of shares left at these prices. Once they are gone the sale will be done and only traded-in shares will be available at a considerably higher price.
AAVG
Haven't posted in a few days, had to step away, going nuts trying to watch every trade on the L2..lol
Things looking good here, can't wait to see what happens here with news and financials!!
Maybe this holiday week is a charm. News release following a long weekend, sounds good to me. IMO
I think this will be a good week for AAVG, I believe a nice steady gain this week, giving us a better position when news comes. I know there are some new investors looking at this!
The AAVG board is getting back to it's old self, a positive atmosphere here will help make this stock more attractive.
AAVG
Yeah, thats why I picked up more this past week. Thanks for posting the info on the Piaggio P180, such an innovative aircraft.

AAVG UP 20% Friday, only one sell all day, accumulation happening. News soon.
I think if we break this .0024-26 pps range, we will be enjoying steady increases even without news. This stock should be trading in the .0050+ range as it stands now.
One thing I think we are pretty sure of, the MM's will not be seeing the over 3 million shares bought by longs today, anytime soon!
AAVG
Yup...long weekend for people to think about AAVG and the 20% gain today..
I think this board is coming back to life and the longs are stepping up in support!
Money in the bank!!
I like it...saved some buys for EOD...added a bit north of 1 mil today.
Nice close today, looks like other buyers came to the table today, says quite a bit for AAVG!!
Actually one of the board members knows someone who flys with Twin Air on occassion. I just cant recall with board member it was.
Welcome back, buy away, we are planning our AAVG Bahamas Beach Party!!
We need to spark some activity on this board...
All buys today, up 12% mid-day.
