Hey Bucks can I catch a ride?
Everybody is talking about this material event that HAD to be reported and people seem to be ABSOLUTELY CERTAIN that because it wasn't reported, it means failure. Well what exactly was the material event?
Was it 100% spider silk?
If so then how was it confirmed? people are talking about the life cycle of a silkworm, first round, second round etc etc.
If Kim didn't want to report it till he so felt like (for whatever reason) then he wouldn't bother reporting it. One major benefit of being a 'one-man band'is having noboduy to answer to. He could send it away to Korea for testing once, or twice or three times just to be sure if he wanted to. I mean he could ship it in a a container that would take 3 weeks to get there if he wanted. He could takr it there himself in a canoe if he felt like. ABSOLUTE CERTAINTY and 100% VERIFICATION are realised when and Kim decides it to be so. If he wants to wait for whatever reason, he can delay it no problemo, regardless of SEC rules. The material event takes place when Kim decides so. As we all know, Kim is the cautious type!!
I do not agree with the amount of certainty that is being put on certain assumptions.
GLTA
I think the first source of help would be a dictionary.
Look up the word 'planned'
Then look up the word 'executed'
any difference? :)
"but like I said, I'm not concerned about missing boats or any other nonsense...That's the concern of amatuers"
I think you mistakenly used the word 'amateurs' in place of 'investors' in your post.
Just an observation of an obvious mistake.
I find it quite interesting that KBLB are not mentioned in an article that we all know for certain references KBLB's work.
I am wondering whether this was intentional. There are some posters that cannot for the life of them understand why (with our game-changing technological achievements) we almost have zero public exposure. There are numerous instances whereby we could have easily had some exposure yet we have had zip. Some procrastinate about this being a 'missed opportunity' (such as the bulletproof skin farce). I see it somewhat different.
I see INTENTIONAL silence on all fronts. I have faith it is for a good reason. IMHO the exposure will come when deals (or otherwise) are agreed, contracts signed, IP locked, trademarks obtained, technology locked, worms bred true etc etc etc and not before.
In time the question people will ask will not be "why no exposure?" it will be more like "HOW THE HELL DID HE KEEP SOMETHING LIKE THAT A SECRET FOR SO LONG???"
They say any publicity is good publicity. That is only true when we are in a fully protected position and the publicity cannot do us any damage. Keep it shut Kim until the time is right.
Just a thought but maybe Kim does not particularly want any exposure while we can still be associated with the CSC/SWA ratbags
"The DOD has always wanted to get their hands on this technology."
Correct Ocho, I have always wanted.........mwahahahaaaaa
I'm thinking F.
Thats provided we have news (which IMO we will) which I think will blow all of those guesses out the window!!
Good night all!
That ain't news buddy. News is new.
Nothing to do with KBLB (apart from the possibility that KBLB may have donated the spider silk to begin with). It was nothing but an art programme. It's been done to death on this board.
Thankfully, KBLB were never mentioned as this is not something that the company would even want to be associated with. It was a gimmick, nothing more.
Hey KC10, I hear you wavering buddy, just hang on for a wee while.
For me, the way the markets are going at the moment, coupled with the fact that KBLB is a risky play, I think we should actually be grateful that the pps has been MAINTAINED at it's current level. I think the anticipation of news has meant that we haven't dropped when all around have been ultra volatile.
The way I see it we are in good shape. We have a rock solid base that will be used as a foundation to rocket from. We are still in early fall and I'm sure news will come pretty soon.
For me, I don't generally trade. I like to research and invest. I work full time and this is a sideline (admittedly one I have our lifesavings pumped into) so whether it happens today or tomorrow or early in the New Year, I have faith it will happen. If it doesn't happen I have my health and my job so I am pretty chill over the whole thing. If anybody is not in as favourable a position then I understand this is a stress. Just keep the faith.
I'm a young man who thinks he will be a millionaire soon!!
You're not fooling anybody RED!!
Bravo Mike, quality post!! If I was a mod, I'd sticky it!!
I had my heart set on news today....maybe tomorrow :)
"DuPont is working on a range of new opportunities through collaborations with customers, manufacturers"
Wouldn't that be nice!!
In my honest opinion we will have big news next week after Kims holiday with the family.
Pedro Ha ha best 3 stooges sketch ever!
Nice to see us mentioned by a somewhat more reputable source. Mentioned along with some big names which doesn't happen very often. Not sure if the terminology is 100% correct but to most people, it'll work. Nice to hear us mentioned with no fluff for once :)
Not knowing too much about Yom Kippur (this Saturday), it could well be that the pennies are a little scarce post holiday (as they often are for me in January!).
So Kim's a bit skint and may decide to sell a small percentage of his holding just after the holidays to pay the bills? So what???
I like the fact that he's giving himself this option to sell 5.8m shares now (by the way is this more than he normally applies for??). I also hope he exercises this option because sure as shizzle he is going to be doing so at a time when he know's he'll get a good deal.
I understand that in stinky pinky land, a CEO selling his shares into a pump ain't normally a good thing. But 99% of pumped pinky's are junk, we all know that. We also all believe that this is not true (even Mojo does) of KBLB. Because IMHO our pumps are as a result of our convoluted financing deal and are in no way reflective of KBLB's legitimacy.
Okay so we have a pump upon us but we are also pretty convinced that we are about to get real news. Let's ignore the pump and see that Kim has decided to give himself an option to sell after he has released news. I like it, no red flag for me.
I can't wait to see how much gets for them! woohooooooooo
(p.s. If anybody responds, I won't be able to respond until the morrow - however can PM)
Hello Hellcat,
911 alert
CREDIT CREDIT CREDIT CRUNCH!!!
How's about we all stick our hands up and have a unanimous call that the CSC deal stinks!!
I think we all know it's not great but surely we can all agree that in these times of such economic hardship, credit is hard to come by.
CSC is not ideal - agreed?
It's a convoluted arrangement - agreed?
It's not a great tine to get financing - agreed?
The second a commercial deal is penned, the relationship is over - agreed?
Enough said! Just leave it now
Good weekend all!! ;)
TUESDAY IS OUR NEWS DAY
I've got a rumbling in my tummy!! (probably just hungry)
I must admit, although I couldn't give a rats ass either way, I don't believe for one minute he works for PJ.
I mean who in the hell has so much love for their employer that they would sing it from the rooftops with a name like that?? Ha ha
Good post and great points Pedro!
Commercialisation is what we want, by Xmas would be good!
.....of the British Empire
Sorry to correct you KB but I would hope they would be teaching you the 'Queen's English' as it stopped being called 'King's English' when Betty's Daddy died in '52!!!
I cook for myself thank you very much!!
I'm with you SM. I like your eternal optimism and share it!
Agreed. Sticky it Taco!
If they make a film of the book, I'd like to be played by Brad Pitt? If Brad's busy, Clooney'll do.
I must admit taco I am a little undecided over whether I (in Kim's position) would have announced it. If Kim ever reads this board and reads some of the panicky ass'd BS that often floats round, it'd probably put him off ever publishing anything negative. People manage to post about plenty of 'hearsay' and 'assumed' negativity as it is, why inject true, justified, legitimate negativity into the picture ha ha.
Let's not forget, like it or not, it seems that Ben & CSC control the PR's so it is even doubtful on whether Kim actually has the power to release news such as this (as ludicrous as it may seem, in my eyes it looks to be the case that it's not his 'say').
I think give him the benefit of the doubt at this time. I'm going to assume that in his heart of hearts he would have liked to release this (and other) news but because of his turd finance deal (let's not go in to it again) his hands are tied. At least that's what I want to believe and will sleep much better for it ha ha
Good luck all, our time will come
STEPHEN HAWKING NOT STEPHAN
"you dont even know how to spell his name, that is an insult."
People in glass houses (inevitably spout bull)
Zinc I may have effectively been gagged but I'm more than willing to use my single post to say thanks for putting posts like this one up. Anybody that gets itchy feet or nervous wondering if the potential is as great as they hope, need only read posts such as that one. Cheers
Good weekend and much love all, I'll continue to 'lurk'
ALL, request for some good old fashioned DD!
That's the first S-1 I have ever read so am not too familiar with the content and what in it is normal 'S-1 speak'. Of what I read there seemed to be a hell of a lot of:
"If scenario z happens, we may be in trouble"
"We have no current competencies in X, Y or Z and this may be a threat to our future success"
etc etc
Is this the usual sort of language. At first glance it seems to be a negative read but admittedly I have only taken a glance.
Any kind of advice or a write up on it from anybody more knowledgeable than me on the subject would be much appreciated.
What is the actual primary function of an S-1 anyhow?
I agree for the CD & DVD producers, piracy is a huge problem (I am in Vietnam and it's near impossible to buy a genuine DVD or Blu-Ray as there is no market for them AT ALL for obvious reasons).
But I don't think ZF was saying it isn't a big problem for them.
I think he was just making the comment that even with high levels of piracy, they survive. He does not believe it will be a big problem for us.
Obviously the technicalities of copying what we are doing is far removed from copying DVDs & CDs.
Another thing to note is that as the world gets more globalised, the emerging economies get more developed, piracy actually becomes less of a threat. One of the basic requirements of the WTO (World Trade Organisation) is compliance with IP, patent, copyright laws. Every country in the world wants membership to the WTO. Countries that do not have membership, turn a blind eye to the counterfeiting. New members are pressurised to clamp down. It doesn't work everywhere but what it does is both limits the production and distribution of counterfeits.
In an ideal world, everybody has WTO membership and plays by the rules. Unfortunately as China is so big, it has proved almost impossible to police. They have been members for about 10 years now but still flout the rules. Here in Vietnam you can buy copied CDs, DVDs, Colgate toothpaste (I s%^t you not), Heineken lager etc, most of it from China. Does any of it get much further afield than Vietnam, no. So it has little potential to pose a big enough threat?
Is this a threat to Colgate, Heineken, Warner Brothers, Sony Music's business empires - absolutely not
Does it affect their bottom line - absolutely yes
The threat of piracy is present but it is not a threat to KBLB's existence or success IMHO. If you ask me, Kim is as tight as a duck's ass and paranoid to boot. He absolutely seems the right character for looking after our interests in that regard.
Sale went through on 18 July 2011
Wasn't that the day that pump started last week? Seems to make sense.
I'm not saying I like it but now I know how it works, nothing I can do but just live with it or get out. So he's in with the pumpers, he won't need to be much longer.
Hello buddy,
I'm in work so don't really have enough time to do justice to the answer but I would advise looking at some of one of our posters previous posts. His name is ZincFinger. He has a better handle on the science behind this than any of us do. I would probably head back a couple of months and you will find the answer you are looking for.
If you are looking for a short (probably inaccurate) answer from somebody who is blindly ignorant in comparison, here it comes:
One of the reasons for the delays in production/commercialization is due to ensuring the lines of worms that are being bred are either heterozygous (or homozygous - prime example of pre-warned ignorance). I believe that what this will mean in practical terms is that the company will be able to produce and distribute sterile eggs or worms that cannot be used to reproduce (just in case you didn't know what sterile meant ha ha). They can be used to spin a cocoon and then.........................do nothing to jeopardise our global domination :)
I hope that makes sense but would invite somebody to jump in and correct my errors!
BTW welcome to the board
Well done RV!
It was a very tongue in cheek comment. They don't even pump well......a$%£holes
At least if they did a better job pumping the stock we could ride the pump a little.
The only saving grace is hopefully they are dumping their shares while such a pathetic pump is taking place. I hate to think they are profiting too much. This way, they dump them on people who although in theory may have 'fallen' for the pump, the way the PPS is at the moment, they ain't getting ripped off.
SWA should be ashamed of themselves. Worst pumpers ever! Imagine being in the red in the midst of a pump - crap.
Sounds about right Taco, no opposition from me.
Gollum
Or Stephen Hawking with an eye patch
Love is blind JB. Terribly blind
Maybe the rationale behind removing it was that it was about to be redundant because any day now there'll be a 'double paged spread in big black letters (esque)' announcement that the zincfingers have just succeeded in creating the most wicked 100% spider silk spinning silkworms that don't even glow green ...........schwingggggg!
