Interesting ideas and theories Mav--it could explain a number of incongruities here.
There does appear to be evidence that PPS is being suppressed by BUNM management. The November 2009 that tried to quiet speculation was a very interesting attempt by co. to stifle chance of major run. It did seem to help accomplish the trick...
I do have a sense that management are working on something very big in the shadows and that only at a time of their choosing will this effort be revealed.
The 'big ticket' may be arrive in form of buyout announcement by an acquirer or via a sudden stream of PRs announcing major monetizing initiatives from current management. BUNM could move from death to active life almost instantaneously.
The 'silence' may ultimately prove to be golden. A pent-up demand for guidance could propel PPS here to dizzying heights. There are after-all, so many questions and relatively few answers.
The CEO's move from Canada to LA was an interesting event, that hasn't received as much scrutiny as it deserved. It's good that you have taken a fresh look at the above history. Good food for thought.
If you look at properties like hypster.com as the future of music--then it bodes well that CEO is now in close-proximity to the music industry in LA and appears to be familiar with trends and technology.
Moreover, the opportunity for a singular and popular artist to represent hypster.com as a spokesperson/figurehead could result.
Many artists ought to be 'beating down the doors' to be featured at hypster.com or to offer their new exclusive to members of 2,135,000 strong hypster.com
There are so many possibilities--we can only hope current management desires to exploit the above.

YES!
CUT-OFF DATE will be TOMORROW WEDNESDAY September 1st 2010. I have tabulated 40 respondents (as of 8-31-10)
Below is an excerpt from my post that appeared here several weeks ago. I have made a few minor edits to excerpt. Thank you to All who have responded to my request thus far!
I am hoping to see further response prior to September 1st. FYI I am in the initial stages of drafting the open letter to the co. and feel that our efforts will have a positive impact.
Based on what happens (or doesn't happen) during August 2010--I want to engage the BUNM shareholder community and draft an open letter to BUNM management from the IHUB community(and beyond if possible) to express our collective support of the property but also to express our collective concerns.
Post a big YES in a reply post if you support the idea to communicate with Burned Media en mass. I will tabulate the names and intend to include all names on an OPEN LETTER FROM (BUNM) IHUB COMMUNITY TO BURNED MEDIA
I believe there is strength in numbers and no offense to any one poster who tries to obtain DD from direct or indirect sources but we need to collectively do something different here to capture attention of management.
I don't have extremely hard evidence but I suspect as have some posters in the past that BUNM management does monitor IHUB on a fairly regular basis.
I believe this forum is a significant force for spreading the word about this company. It is very likely that the (272 members revised) at IHUB are owners of hundreds of millions of shares if not a billion +

I agree that the co. needs to provide stronger reasons to lock the float but perhaps that is the irony here; if the co. divulged a great deal more guidance--the float would likely be long gone.
Agreed there's no way PPS would be moving if we were talking about A/S O/S.
It only took 105,898,817 million in volume August 24th to budge this up +.0001 or 100%
The float needs to be sorely tested in order to see 'the squeeze.' It's a shame that we haven't see concentrated volume to break-through .0004-0005 levels.

Interesting theory doinit:
The last PR (November 2009) was seemingly conceived to thwart a strong run. At that time there were rumors circulating about a possible buyout from a Google type of player.
Ironically, one way management can keep a certain level of control here is by doing nothing to promote company--resulting in an absurdly low PPS. In a number of ways--it says 'please disperse there is nothing to see here.' Perhaps that quote couldn't be farther from the truth--
The above scenario allows the company a possibility of retaining the purchase of hundreds of millions of shares for 'peanuts' in the event a much-higher PPS is going to be a certainty. Management insiders will obviously be 'first-in-line' with the knowledge/timing of any new initiatives, PRs and/or buyout offer(s).
Sometimes I get the impression that management regrets taking the co. the 'public route' after seeing phenomenal growth rates and having to deal with pesky public shareholders wanting regular updates and correlating high expectations.
I believe management also does have high expectations for the property and desires to maximize the investment for themselves and shareholders--in that order.
All the above my opinion and deduction
Yes EXPOSURE isn't just something BUNM management is capable of doing.
I was just reviewing the chart for BUNM:
The 50 Day Moving Average has been on its way down gearing for a 'dead cross' but with today's volume and hopefully (more-to-come?) we may yet keep our heads above the 200 Day Moving Average.
A 'Golden Cross' occurred here several months ago (approximately April 22nd 2010). Interestingly, April 21 and 22 brought us a combined total of just under 600 million of volume.
We saw several 100 million + days in early May 2010 as well. It will be interesting to see if volume trend can continue for a longer period of time and if it indeed portends insider knowledge of imminent PR release.

105,898,817 in trading volume (August 24, 2010)
I believe this type of monetizing initiative will not only bring in revenues but greatly increase buyout potential. PPS will follow in short order. The PPS rise would assume that the co. is highlighting the above efforts via regular PRs.
Also IMO it would be important to release baselines in respect to new revenue streams aka. hypster.com monthly service brings in 14000 in revenues first month of service. That's just 7000 users out of 2,113,000 shelling out 2.00!!
Can you imagine if co. started highlighting a revenue stream growing by multiples each month!

I just read an interesting article entitled PayPal hopes to make micropayments easier online by Rachel Metz
Everyone please Google this particular article and please feel free to comment.
By using this PayPal service or (a competitor) hypster.com could more-readily monetize operations.
Consumers are not keen on .30 transactions on credit or debit cards.
Therefore management should find ways to encourage such 'small' transactions because it results in compounding and also repeat visits/purchases.
200,000 x 1.50 = 300,000 (per month). This number would reflect just over 10% of hypster.com audience spending at minimum $1.50 per month. (3.6 million per year)
100,000 x 1.50 = 150,000 (per month). This number would reflect over just over 5% of hypster.com audience spending at minimum $1.50 per month (1.8 million per year)
Every hypster.com user needs to be seen as a potential revenue stream. Our Web property cannot continue to let dollars and cents lie on the floor.
