Thanks fernando. i thought it was a "related" in as how it has showed up here a time or two, and they have plenty of china shipping ventures.. i've been watching it since late last year and was waiting to see some pos. Q's leading towards a break-even 09 after a horrid 08. i saw your post regarding others growing faster - but i'm following my instinct now...
and if alot of other guys like me are liking this now too then i'm thinking this might move out of my buy price soon, which is right now.
I snagged up XNYH, TMI warrants and CHCG last week, all at cheep prices... sold off my BAC and AIB (great shiatian) positions for nice 3 and 4x gains respectfully and this was my intention all along when i bought them early and cheap. i wont post about GSL on this board anymore... don't want to disrespect in any way, and thnx for all the love around here..
malc.
CSP, your pix are hilarious. keep em' up. i think you've missed your true talent... perhaps youre going to retire soon and take up stand up comedy for your second life...
I'm pulling an anthony bourdain tmmrw myself and going "no reservations" on GSL long and strong tmmrw morning.
Opinions on GSL anyone??? thanks everyone, malc.
GSL. I just put it back on the watch list today. Does anyone here have a position and/or any guidance for Q4?
After a horrid 08, they seem to have rebounded nicely with around .83 eps so far thru 3rdQ.
I know most of you are keen on others before this play, but to me it seems like GSL is way way undervalued at today's price.
thanks to all for their input, malc.
solid gains and solid volume again today.
this is one stock that has only see one direction lately.
and no news of any sort for the last couple of months.
somebody is in the know, glad i'm already fully invested.
i might actually be able to retire one day with this and a couple of other solid emerging market picks.
If you look at the dow jones newswire 12/9 you will find all the answers. PG&E purchased a windfarm 5 miles away from WNDEF's windstar 120MW project, and when you crunch the numbers the 3.66M PG&E paid per MW the approx. value of the Windstar project alone is worth 439M, or $7, fully diluted, for this project alone...
Do some DD and you might also conclude that this is about to explode.. malc.
Better take a good look and read the cards.
It spells a $7 fully diluted BV for WNDEF once you consider the price PG&E just paid for the next door neighbors wind farm. And WNDEF already has PPA's for every single MW they will be producing in the cali/arizona area for the next 20 yrs. Perhaps PG&E will just want to buyout the windstar project straightaway instead. Ooh, that'd be just terrible....
Ahh, i see
Thats what I pretty much thought last week.
However like i said earlier i haven't bailed just yet.
What's your take kx - are you still holding or what?
I opted for XYNH earlier in the week. Got a small LONG position @ .22
Printing is not that exciting but neither is/was paper, cork, cactus, wastewater, etc...
GL everyone and happy kwanza... malc.
Hey Crapsguy -
Yikes, blasting my DD... lol... yes it leaves alot to be desired.
I'm still CPTC LONG, thats for sure. It just sounded like the rulings from the patent court were pretty bad, but if you say otherwise, great. I'm holding anyway, for the same basic reason as yourself, that the products are far superior to those on the market today.
Are you saying that you think they can change up the wording in some of the patent applications and still protect their ACCC wire from the ripoff from competitors? If thats the case, better yet.
I'm just waiting for the day they turn the corner for a positive Q.
malc
Yes sir you may. I put a limit on the sell order @ .011 to try to at least break even with the holding. it never got filled - i see a few got someone to bite at .013 but most of the action was just like boguso7 and tothe said, and others... back to the bottom and since its a small position i'll hold and watch from here.
yep, i'm still holding my whole 5 shares.
regarding CYXN, yes i see the dilution coming but i'm still reluctant to dump that whole (small) boat over either. i'm going to see what evolves between now and zen.
allow me to clarify myself in a personal sense to all on this board. I'm just a small construction biz owner with a couple of useless college degrees... all i know in the investing sense is that i have done 200% better than my wife in my SEP IRA and she even gets matching funds from the employer... lol.. she has barely recouped the losses from 08 still today, and they even changed brokerage, lol...
i'm just using the green and buddha force and loving all the love you guys also give everyone. keep up the faith...
malc.
Thanks fernando.
i need to be watching the daily trades when i get home and figure out who sold what it seems. i see the annotations on the trades but dont know what the form selling symbol is that i need to be looking at to know if these guys are holding these converted shares or dumping them. of course by then, its too late.
i need to get an ipod and join the modern world... malc.
morokoy - i am still holding CYXN despite the negative news and earnings from last Q. i deducted that it was an off Q and only that - the panic selling that resulted didnt phase me on the long term potential of the company.
now fernando is flashing a red sign and i value his opinion highly. after reading your post this all seems logical. its a large dilution of the common and also a large reduction of the preferred, and the conversion might not be as bad as it looks on the surface.
is this the jist of what you were saying, and only one question, are you still holding your CYXN thru all this? thanks, malc.
Thank you for the consideration. however, being as i bought in at .15 thinking that 2010 might be the breakout year, i am completely lost as to what to do with this small position. i couldnt get my exit even price so perhaps i'll just hang on thru the R/S and see what happens. my SANM did a R/S and exploded but this is a totally different story - AEPW is going private again and my only question is how they will buy out the remaining shares at that time. are there any legal parameters regarding how they can peg the fair value per share at that time?
we saw how they pegged the value of uneven shares at the time of the R/S - a whopping .068 per share when the common was trading for .20
this gives me absolutely no assurance as to the fairness of the company regarding the common stockholder period. the insiders own 70+% anyway.... thanks for the thoughts.... malc.
AEPW, you guys nailed todays projected action spot on this weekend. I put in the sell order sunday but stop limited and glad i did cause it opened on a rock. now that i'm red on this one i think i'll just watch and see for a bit. lots of buying at the .06-.08 range - it seems some folks wanted to even out their share counts or even load up on the negative news...
thanks bogus07. the warrants are looking like quite a deal at current price with a 5.50 strike price. the warrants will have a redeem call when the price of common is above 11.50 for 20 out of 30 days, correct? didnt TMI come close to hitting this a month ago or so? have they not already traded above 11.50 for 20/30?
thanks, malc.
Thanks. found the warrants under TMI'
Is anyone else here buying them @ 4.24 - they are down 20% from 10 days ago.
Good morning everyone. I tried (in vain) to find a ticker symbol to attempt to purchase some TMI warrants tmmrw thru my B of A/ M Lynch IRA account. Does anyone know how to find this info out? I can call them tmmrw i suppose but i'd rather have my purchase order online before the morning bell. Thanks alot to everyone here and special thanks lately in helping me decide what to do with my AEPW holdings considering recent (crappy) mngmt decisions regarding their poor little stockholders.... malc.
Thanks for your take traderfan. You are absolutely right, all bets are off for 2010 EPS because they wont be reporting. And it seems this is the preamble to going private, and obviously even if I hold my 5 shares until they buyout all remaining common holders come that time I likely wouldnt get fair value for them should they be worth much more come that time. All it takes is that announcement that they will only pay .068 for uneven shares at the R/S to confirm that.
OK. Looking for a replacement for the IRA for a long hold. Got any fav's for a buy now cheap for the LT returns? Thanks again for the input,
malc stone.
Thnx Joe. Still, this is a difficult decision for me. The first thought is that the stock will surely plummet on this news, likely down to the tune of the .068 buyout price. My second thought is that I still think the .20 EPS (pre-split) guidance for 2010 is still spot on so if I hold my whole 5 shares it still may be a LT winner. Either way, its a relatively small pos. in my IRA... will contemplate over beers and football today and tmmrw.
If I do sell monday I'll be looking for a new pos. to add with a 20 yr. hold in mind. Do you have any ideas for something I can get into relatively cheap currently with a boatload of potential down the road? I'm all ears and love doing weekend DD instead of otherwise doing weekend honeydews (inbetween football games of course).... thanks alot, malc.
Joe - thanks for the bad news, lol... i personally respect your opinion and hard work, not to mention sharing your thoughts with all of us here at IH. As a owner of AEPW to the tune of a very modest 2500 shares i am now wondering what to do come monday. Hold anyway with my new even 5 shares and hope for the best - not having to sacrifice any shares for a dismal .068 - or just dump them all for a modest gain now.
I thought they were poised to finally start making some profits and the equivalent PPS gains in 2010, but now i'm completely lost. being a non-professional investor i can't see how this makes much sense and would gladly welcome any further thoughts...
could this possibly be an advantage to any holders of even 500 blocks like myself??? Hold or bolt? the shares are in an IRA i'm holding for 20 more years anyway.... thanks folks!
Good luck with that. Like i said, i sold all mine that i bought this time @ .16 for nice gains. usually, i would have only sold half and kept the others for freebies but the case with AERT is that it is Very Unpredictable and turbulent. They have broken ground on a new plant in OK but also filed a going concern - the posted a +Q of .01 eps but are still at least 23M in debt equating to a neg BV. Nasdaq has been all over them to do a R/S to keep the price above the required $1 but so far nothing. These are the reasons i exited the position with a profit - if you look at the volatility this stock has displayed over 20 yrs. you will find this cycle repeating over and over... a runup on what looks to be a sustainable future followed by a crash on what seems to be imminent failure, or even BK.
Ok. that said GL anyway. i'm going to be monitoring closely and will re enter AERT if they survive thru 2Q 2010 - it will be interesting to see how they resolve the current round of problems, and i honestly think between now and then we will all see buying opportunities much lower than current PPS, likely around both of our initial entry points again... All of this is of course just my personal opinion, but i know a little more about the Brooks family than most... i have to leave it at that... malc.
CLWT. had another monster day today before succumbing to some late day PT. up another modest .20 anyway, and i'm wondering if something is brewing regarding their show at the florida premier (their words) world water treatments trade show this year? holding CLWT long still here..
Hang tight CSUH longs. i know i am, the damage is already done.
Got in too late ( and thanks btw VFC stock house ) and you never know with these small cap start ups. everyone in it knew it was a big risk anyway in a saturated market. however -
the R/S is not always a bad thing IMO. lots of my holdings have seen this action recently and its sometimes for a very good reason, like keeping your listing, or upgrading your listing... my position in SANM blew up after the R/S and VRNM reversed to draw institutional investors...
however, in this case it just seems like a bad omen. ok, i admit it. but i'm holding long anyway... one never knows and i never sell for a loss - just eat it if you have to...
Dang. just checked back on this board and this is bad news for CPTC for sure in that they cannot extract rev from others wanting to make their "patented" ACCC wire. This was a counted upon source of extra income that will not be there, and the competition is now free to steal potential customers - which might not be too hard considering how mgmt really seems lax around there, to say the least...
however, the stock is holding up nicely anyway all things considered. the PRC's push to upgrade their whole infrastructure may yet be the saving grace of this texas company - sales to china from their china plant have kept them afloat so far. US sales have been, and continue to look, rather dismal. except for a few municipalities out west buying ACCC wire, no one is jumping on this product despite all of its seeming advantages and grid savings. now we have to assume that someone else will manufacture essentially the same product and sell it at a competitive advantage thus leaving CPTC to rely on the PRC for its continued survival and growth. Which may be enough, IMO. I'm still waiting to see the positive Q and it appears other investors also still have a degree of faith despite the patent news. Still LONG CPTC... malc.
I'm gathering that the whole sector has doubled then on this stimulus news from the PRC. OK, that makes sense. I was thinking some other news must be brewing - the stimulus news was big, but not THAT big... and some profit taking is sure to be seen sometime soon then... thanks for the heads up.. malc.
I agree completely. holding long since .50 in an IRA. seems like the logical price should be around $4 IMO with the PPA with california for the next 20 yrs. and the price those folks pay for power. debt free as far as i can tell, an established player in the industry, just without all the hype surrounding other players trying to emerge in the alt. energy market. there are a ton of others commanding more attention that havent produced MW one yet... this is one of my favorite LONGS...
Rames, any thoughts on CLWT? you seem to know the sector, and i dont. i bought @ .58 on the news of the company buyback, that trigged the bite reflex in me. turned out to be a great play, and i'm holding LONG for more action which seems evident IMO.
Thats a good question.
Usually a forward split is indicitive of strong growth and strong revenues being generated. not the opposite.
but like you said this was in dec 07. expectations were high and they never panned out. nonetheless, they have survived so far and finally posted a pos. Q, .01 is not impressive but the projections are for .20 eps in 2010.
I'm long AEPW hoping that these projections are somewhat actualized this time around. its a different company now, and they are poised to recieve large chunks of $ from the PRC for infrastructure improvements. thats a damn good customer to have, IMO.
Realize that AEPW is still trading below book value, but an EPS of .04 next Q will surely change all that. I'm adding here (modestly) in hopes that the company might actually pan out to be the player they originally hyped themselves to be. malc.
Yes, but much cheaper (was) than TRIT or RINO. I also heard the china is doubling their budget for water infrastructure, but that hardly seemed likely for the runup. I gather that we will hear some significant news from CLWT soon...
Does anyone know whats behind the big run for CLWT lately??
AEPW. looks like a minimum of .20 eps for 2010 IMO. so a 5x earnings price of $1 this time next year is what i'm looking at. Long AEPW past that for sure...
Sold off the rest of my AERT @ .39 - the bulk went @ .50 for some nice gains. I live in Arkansas and have been in and out of this stock for 20 yrs. - no lie... the Brooks family has a history of manipulating this stock and it seems like its always on the verge of the big breakout... i got back in this time last year @ .16 and will buy again if they survive past Q2 2010 - they were positive (.01) for one Q, but realize they are still deeply in debt - posted a going concern last Q and then announced an opening of the new plant in okla 2 days later... go figure. a delisting from nasdaq is looming and they dont seem to be willing to do a reverse split so it seems emminent anyday now.
dont get me wrong, i love this companys products. im a construction owner, and have installed these decks many many times. however, the management is the one i have issues with here - i just encourage all buyers to do their own DD and see that there is some high risk involved here at these prices.
malc stone.
AEPW anyone? bueller? bueller? anyone?
CLWT anyone? beuller? beuller? anyone???
Well said and done CSP. not only are you a brilliant helper to all us amateur investors but a true spiritual warrior as well, it seems.
I'm nowhere near financially secure yet for myself, wife, nor children so i'm going to be greedy and keep all my little profits rolling ( god willing ) in my SEP IRA. However, i do have my labor and equipment to offer and i'm joining the ozark mission project, a local methodist non-profit that builds homes for needy families who are also trying to help themselves. i dont believe in freebies, but lots of good people have gotten the bad cards in life and deserve a hand up from people like us who are hopefully counting our blessings... happy Thanksgiving everyone!
VTKT soaring again today on no released news. check out the volume and buys lately and any monkey can see that something quite large is looming here... i dont know what is up, but i do know that they have been increasing small environmental remediations and the recent activity and price leap has me thinking that they may have finally landed some serious EPA contracts - which is a 25B dollar industry. I'm long VTKT from fifty cents. Whatta find there. IMO, this low float bad dog has no leash, and may run like a banshee with the announcement of a large contract, which it seems some folks obviously have gotten wind of already.... malc
CLWT. euro tech holdings, a china water infrastructure play. anyone else here own this besides me? i cant recall how i found this little gem but its growing like wildfire. up today 44% on unknown news - all i can find is a generic reference to the PRC doubling infrastructure spending thru 2015. last year this time i bought with a $4-5 target range for 2009 and its now rapidly approaching that. looks like lots of room to increase thru 2015, it now seems. extremely low float.
China to double infrastructure spending thru 2015. i think this is the news that shot this bad puppy today...
CSP, you said CKGT reported earlier today. Well, whats the word bird?
Thank you very much bernie. i agree that both the stock and the folks compiling the info here are quite strong. as much as one can be confident in the potential of any stock, MMRF won me over as well this weekend and i plan on getting in monday, and accumulating whenever possible.
I'm a small construction company business owner, and by no means a pro investor. i read everything i can get ahold of before making any decision, including financials, but i often struggle to get the whole picture right. in this case, a few things i am wondering about is what is the current level of debt ( i have conflicting #'s ) and it also seems logical for any long MMRF to wonder about the effects of future dilution with 650M A/S and only around 150M issued to date. it seems to me that they have been keeping down debts by issuing shares each Q. but what was the effect of the merger with FVLR on the debt situation - how did the merger affect the large debts that MMR had accumulated in getting their system operational?
Is there any news regarding the status of the patent pending?
And lastly, only meager income has been trickling in for the last couple of Q's. Have they issued any guidance on future revs in light of contracted agreements and such. Of course the potential for revenue from the china JV looms large large indeed if all goes to plan. and on this account, i'm merely going with the track record of management to keep it all growing as planned. seems like no reason to bet against that horse...
Thanks to all for their time and information, best of luck,
malc stone.
