I was able to grab a few shares of lehnq on 3/5/13. Oddly, on my brokerage account, it shows the date purchased on the statement whereas for my other cts, this date does not show. Does anybody else show this?? What could it mean?
I think we are in a trading pattern for another 6-12 months
Love your post wooden, my thoughts entirely.
Thanks. I'll just sit tight. I pay taxes in April anyway
Just what do we file income taxes on? A gain from 0 cents to 10 cents?
"Or how about the news lately that the U.S. is the next Saudia Arabia when it comes to oil"
What's that supposed to mean?
"You should be getting a statement from Lehman about the trust so you can do your income taxes by March 16th. That should tell us were we stand."
Thanks for the heads up.
More nuts than I already am? Yeowza, I better have a coca cola.
Okay so someone existed their position. But there is no volume. Is it possible that is because no will sell?
0 trades so far!!!! Are you freaking kidding me?
As far as the combined newco goes, they may separate out entity out to newco, let's say Fannie, and fire all the personnel of that duplicate function in Freddie. Just saying, don't have to rebuild what already exists.
WSJ call us Losers
Thanks Salt. I don't have commons so generally don't follow. It just seemed a bit too impressive.
"camaro, if memory serves me correct, every few earnings the commons move a bit like they are about to finally make a move. they spike, then fall right back down. the way they moved today makes me think fannie will report before the market opens tomorrow.
just a hunch."
Does this rotation to fmcc on huge volume imply that news has leaked and the commons will do well soon?
So is this a dump or a buy?
Got in at .11 , just before it dropped to .06. Call me lucky

We're going to end the day in the crapper, right on schedule after the high of 4
Sure, but the elimination of the dividend was good too and the pps collapsed then just as we are now.
just scared
Will there be any real value to fnf after this?
Are they saying that the US worked in foreigners to bring down Lehman, or are they saying the US told foreigners they were going to bring down Lehman. And for what purpose? To get the TARP funding?
Why is it that we have to start every morning off in the negative before we turn positive in the afternoon? Sheesh.
"Merge fnma and fmcc into a new organization."
Under this scenario and given the possibility that freddie will repay taxpayers before fannie, do we have to all wait until fannie repays taxpayers to do the merger? Do we have to wait at all?
"you really do believe in santa claus."
I suppose my idea was a tad in lala land.
they could pay us "past dividends" in the form of common stock in newco. that would work
We've discussed before that possibly we'd get 2 shares in newco for every 1 share in f or f. At least for commons. They could make up for dividends lost by giving us 1.5 shares in newco for every 1 share in f or f.
In the scenario you just described, what happens to the existing jr preferred shareholders? Do they get transferred to newco?
"no, that's the game being played. the dems are putting h. dumpty back together, while playing dumb. they are almost there with a finished new healthy fnf up and running, and a totally owned subsidiary the north east (+california) dems. the gop is talking politics and the ryan budgets. but the gop finally figured out with the last 10K that operation fortitude is not just history but has happened again. to cover this, and to try to bury fnf one more time they bring out the new flock of experts, have a few hearings, and again prove it was a single bullet."
You nailed it.
wtf Taint. Is that you telling us what someone else has said?
That sure is pretty to look at.
thenthere's my favorite fmckp closing at 3.91
I did not see this coming. I just told a friend to buy at 11 cents.
Typical. You all are up, my fmckp is down.
I prefer slow and steady. How often do we move upwards AFTER earnings?
There's some small selling going on in Freddies, but nothing that gives an ndicator of direction
Those are big lots so early in the morning.
It's not like they can change the rules as they go along.
"They can keep sweeping dividends for years to come and use the funds as another piggy bank.
Puck that. One penny that goes to the gov without paying the jr preferreds will prompt the banks to sue.
