Should have an update soon. Heard Doug is back from SL.
So the stock went to $.005s today?
Unexpected!
So gem, can you share anything with us - based on your correspondence with John? Like what are they doing at Pampana North? etc.
Should be receiving progress report on Fat Boy armor plates passing NIJ ballistic tests soon. Right?
Roberto, SGCP recovered 33 oz in August so around that much in Sept - maybe 50 oz.
So where are they going manufacture the armor plates in volume, if not at this facility?
Don, I kept asking them why they didn't just didn't just liquidate and go out of business. Guess they have other plans. Like maybe making money. I always wondered why they didn't just process the 2500 tons of silver ore with grade up to 100 oz silver/ton. But they never did.
Interesting that after DD, someone is willing to pay over $10 for Deer Trails.
Tosca, I'm assuming that instead of "Northern" it is "Golden". It seems to fit better imo. I think there is a 2007 PR that says SGCP has 1st option on land north of Pampana North in the hard-rock hill country. That all seems to fit the Golden Star Resources Pampana properties of 2006. But I don't know for sure.
I'm obseesing over Pampana North. It now appears to me our competitor has grabbed 5 continuous miles of Pampana River directly south and adjacent to SGCP Pampana North property.
Anyway that's my guess. Hope SGCP clarifies the plans and future of its Pampana North property as they move back from an absence of 1.5 years.
Hope the company has Pampana North news in the September FR/PR.
Thanks Tosca.
Pampana North is probably in the area of Manki and Mabourka. Marako is a village between Manki and Mabourka (closer to Manki).
Photo 102 caption from SGCP's website says:
Pampana - gold washing at local base camp near Marako
Who exactly knows where the Pampana North property is located? Is it near the villages of Manki and Mabourka?
Golden Star Resources had three concessions near that area in 2006, one basically to south bank of Pampana River (crossed over the river north and into hills a bit), one on north bank of Pampana and north into the hills, another parcel totally in the hill country (and totally to the north of the 2nd parcel).
Are parcels one and two Pampana North on the banks of the Pampana River? Anyone know or is it totally on some other part of the Pampana River? Some of the old timers from 5 years ago must know.
Potential of $500 million in silver, gold, copper. Wonder if Unico will do anything with Silver Bells.
Cork they have both open pit and river dredging - both showing that the Pampana is rich in recoverable gold. They confirm the gold results that SGCP had in 2008 only on a larger scale in regards the open pit.
Hope all is well and ok Cork.
Hope all is well and ok Cork.
I emailed Doug & John and asked them to let shareholders know if they still had the 40 sq/km on Pampana River that they list under Property on SGCP website. I hope so. Imo land operations are critical to the success of SGCP as a hugely profitable gold company.
2.Pampana is a 40sq/km mining concession in the Tonkolli district. The property is located on the north Pampana River near the village of Rosint. The northern Pampana River lies in the greenstone belt and is one of Sierra Leone’s richest known alluvial mining rivers.
The competitor has done more in 2 years than SGCP has done in 5 years. I'm asking why? It's the same Sierra Leone and the same land.
Silver Bell Mine: Unico propaganda:
THE SILVER BELL MINE -
In December, 2000 UNICO acquired all the outstanding shares of
stock of the Silver Bell Mining Company for 3,000,000 restricted
shares of UNICO common stock.
Silver Bell Mining Company, incorporated in Utah on April 26,
1993 has 29 patented mining claims and 3 patented mill-sites,
covering 370 acres located in American Fork Canyon, Utah County,
Utah.
The claims, which are permitted, but currently inactive are
comprised of old mining properties of Tintic-type or manto/vein
hosted ores that once contained 'Bonanza' grades of Silver along
with Gold, Lead, Zinc and Copper -
* Estimated resource*:
Gold 8,100 oz. -
Silver 15.7 million oz. -
Lead 22,500 tons -
Zinc 54,000 tons -
and Copper 15,350 tons -
The Silver Bell's high-grade Silver Mine -
was hampered historically by its high elevation.
Recent exploratory work has uncovered Silver-bearing ore -
assaying as high as 120 oz/ton -
Every face in the underground mine has mineable ore -
The ore resource is estimated to contain over 450,000 tons -
based on strike and dip projections -
confirmed by two independent engineering firms -
The Silver Bell Mine produced over 100 tons of 100 plus OPT
Silver Ore. -

THE SILVER BELL MINE HISTORY
The Silver Bell property was discovered in 1871
by three army officers out of Fort Douglas,
Salt Lake City, Utah.
They worked it mostly by leasing it out.
One of the early lessees was John Chadwick out of American
Fork, Utah, who worked the mine for over twenty years.
Chadwick was able to mine and ship some ore ,
but not much was documented except for a reference,
in an 1881 census report, that stated -
The Silver Bell Mine produced over 100 tons of 100 plus
OPT silver ore -
One of the mines in that area boasted 500 oz silver/ton. I guess is is a popular hiking/trails areas with lots of silver and some gold mines.
You might be right, but Unico thinks it still has tons and tons of silver.
Back to Bid of $.0006 again.
Looks like JKS headed to $4s!!!
Silver Bell mine is all that is left to Unico after the sale of Deer Trail mine and its associated mineral claims.
Just read the description. They have 2000 tons of silver ore ready to be shipped - a road allowing truck has been built, a rail system down the mountain exists. Assuming silver goes back to $35 - $40s and 35 oz/ton.
2000 tons * 35 oz/ton * $35 = $2.4 million in silver waiting to be shipped to a refiner. If silver goes back to $40s, it's almost $3 million just waiting to be shipped to a refiner.
Ore grades range from 20 oz/ton to 120 oz/ton silver at Silver Bells.
$10 million is NOT a drop in the ocean. I've seen other pink sheets go up 20x on rumors of $10 million.
For Unico @ $.0001 a 100x increase could happen imo. Of course plans for immediate development/revenue from Silver Bells needs to happen too for a $.05 price. Don't they have 40 tons of mined ore just waiting to be shipped down the mountain?
So far the stock response has be ZIP.
imo Silver Bell mine is the future. Don't they have like 40 tons of ore ready to be shipped from previous owners.
Can't Unico build a simple gravity shoot straight down the mountain to a nearby dump site - close to a dirt road?
Supposedly, bonanza grade silver. Is that like 100 oz silver/ton of ore?
Here is a link with more info. The $10+ deal will happen before or by 15 Oct 2011. I think the other company is receiving a steal. The silver content alone is probably worth $100 million, add a little gold and zinc for another $30 million.
Wonder why Unico could never refine it themselves?
http://www.techagreements.com/agreement-preview.aspx?title=Unico%20-%20Real%20Estate%20Purchase%20Contract%20For%20Deer%20Trail%20Mine&num=743294
Anyway imo, Unico should develop the Silver Bells mine first. Can't they build a simple gravity shoot down the mountain - maybe from 12" pipes to a dump site below.
SGCP website under Property lists Pampana. Anyone know if this is still valid. Or is it old stuff just left on the website?:
2.Pampana is a 40sq/km mining concession in the Tonkolli district. The property is located on the north Pampana River near the village of Rosint. The northern Pampana River lies in the greenstone belt and is one of Sierra Leone’s richest known alluvial mining rivers.
Wow according to kitco, gold hit $1531 earlier today before bouncing back to $1600s. Volatility.
Gold high $1500s soon? And I thought it was destined for $2000.
$10 million sale of Deer Trail Mine is huge news!!! and maybe the stock could rise to $.05?????
Prosposed sale $10 Million for Deer Trail Mine!!! Hope they develop Silver Bells with some of the sale money.
Could stock rise to $.05 when sale goes thru????!!!!???
Kitt the Pampana River basin and area is incredibly rich in gold and other minerals including heavy rare earths.
SL is pretty incredible for a small nation: one of largest iron deposits in world, one of largest titanium deposits in the world, one the world's top diamond producers, and probably one of the world's remaining great gold deposits.
Have all the new people left now that its back to $.0008?
Looks like it.
Competitors analysis of Pampana deposits. Figure those in Bo & Zimmi are as good or less.
Competition is always present. I think BORK's competition will come from polyethelene-composites for armor, carbon nanotube composites, or graphene compounds. Having the manufacturing facility up and running would help in winning a large defense armor contract imo.
(PhysOrg.com) -- With a strength 200 times greater than that of steel, graphene is the strongest known material to exist. But now scientists have found that folding graphene nanoribbons into structures they call “grafold” can enable it to bear even greater compressive loads.
6 oz gold/day needed to be profitable imo.
5 oz gold/day to break even to barely profitable.
1. Gold only 80 - 92% pure
2. Refining costs
3. JV costs
SGCP seems to need $80,000 - $90,000/month to cover current costs. Expansion and additional land leases increase costs as well as additional equipment and employees.
Swamp what changed your mind to the negative? When SGCP left the Pampana in 2009?
Without news, trend is down into $1s. News is having less and less upward impact. Stock needs NIJ cert achieved news and info on subsequent orders.
Were you setting up conference call Roberto?
At least we now know a good PR can send SGCP prices up fast.
Think no more estimates from company about recovery numbers. Actual recovery numbers will have to do.
CC, the trend I see within the last month is SGCP's growing focus on Pampana for current and future gold mining operations. Appears to me that SGCP has 2 dredges in Pampana (P-1: Yele, P-2: Pampana North). And is currently recovering gold.
mid-Aug FR: company is acquiring further dredging leases on both the Sewa and Pampana Rivers
8 Sep FR: have one dredge at least in the Pampana North area due to positive results and will be acquiring additional concessions during my visit in September
13 Sep PR: The Yele properties are on a feeder river to the Pampana, which is well known as one of Sierra Leone's prolific gold producers.
CC you are right about the processing of black sands being repeated. For sure the company is recovering gold and maybe somethingelse in the black sands.
Yep Gianni, when news is good PR is the way to go. Volume 85+million and 50+ million.
