Hi Brent. Did you get my email from yesterday?
Aloha
Rich
Thank you KMT. em
Could someone cut & paste the update here please? I don't see it on Medinah's site no matter what I do. TIA

I agree with everything you wrote, but there are circumstances that make dealing with the shorting much more difficult than many seem to be aware of. Yes, "results, releases and financials" are ultimately the way to get shorty off ones back, but keep in mind that many/most pinks/otc's are start-up companies that need financing. Part of the shorting scam involves death spiral financing...where the financeers are the ones who initiate shorting of the stock.
Also, it's very difficult for a company to get out of a short when they have to dilute incredible amounts of shares in order to get the kind of money they need in order to conduct business long enough to attain those results, releases and financials. If shorty wasn't holding the price down the company would be able to get more financing with less dilution.
If you want to really understand what I'm talking about in greater detail, dig up what you can about Rod Young and Eagletech Communications. My very basic understanding is that this guy has/had a technology that has/had the potential to be in every person's home. His company was naked shorted into bankruptcy before his product had the chance to even make it into the market. Often times the product is the reason a company is targeted. If the management ends up in a death spiral financing situation, once the company can't keep it's agreements with the financiers (who have intentionally shorted the stock), the financeers can go after the technology if the company management wasn't aware enough to protect themselves. It probably happens more often than we are both aware.
Having written all of this, I must say that I do not yet have such a detailed understanding of naked shorting to be able to go into much more detail. There is still a lot I need to learn to be able to have a much more in-depth conversation about it.
aloha
Rich
etouge: That's a good question and I think velvet can give you a much better answer than I'm about to. If memory serves, I think that at least some, and possibly all, of those contracts were nullified by Sam because they turned out to not be as beneficial for the company as initially thought to be. My understanding is that Sam had quite a few opportunities he was looking at and he wanted to start out with those that would be most lucrative for the company and bring in revenues as quickly as possible. I believe that this is why Sam chose to take the sludge processing route and to put more immediate focus on it, but I also believe that there are still other opportunities lurking in the background.
I hate to have to write this post from the perspective of what I "think" and "believe", but my memory is foggy about some of these issues.
Aloha.
Velvet: Already there my friend. Good info. em
I agree wholeheartedly Walker. It is a huge part of why I converted from strictly trader to investor/trader here. I want the best of both worlds.
Aloha
Velvet,
You know that I have become extremely cautious regarding the naked shorting crap that is running rampant in our stock markets. You also know that I've got 5 years experience as a trader, in some cases constantly watching level II/trading on the stocks that I am interested in.
My confidence in you is not in question at all...and therefore as a direct result neither is my confidence in Sam or Joseph. But, until I see some major changes in the politics of our country, changes in the people in charge of the SEC, the current laws actually being enforced, and especially a change in the way this particular stock is trading, I will continue to maintain my cautious skepticism about the state of the naked shorting that is, or was, going on here. I'm certainly rooting for Joseph being right about the NS and I'll be so very happy to state that my skepticism was unwarranted.
I'm with you, Sam, Joseph and our company 1000% and you know I've put a considerable amount of my money where my mouth is... Or, in this case, where my fingers are. Oh, now that doesn't sound so good. ;-P
Aloha my friend.
I trust velvet's post and I trust Joseph, but I don't trust CEDE or DTCC as far as where the naked short is at. As far as I'm concerned the jury is still out on that issue.
I'd really like to know what CLYP has going on also.
It sure looks like someone wants the share price to continue lower, but any time some buying pressure comes in they're quick to raise it up.
IMO, anyone with a long term perspective on this stock should be very happy to get shares even if they have to do a little chasing to a penny or even higher. As for short term traders, well, you just have to be patient, pick your spots and see what you can get. I'm not currently trading this stock, but when I do I often find that waiting until the end of day (last hour) is a good time to buy...especially on Fridays, ends of the month and ends of quarters.
Aloha.
Actually, when you posted initially the bid was at .0075. I've got level II open on this all day every day when I'm here.
Brent...
Try eating some raw garlic. It's the best antibiotic on earth (scientifically proven better than all man made anti's). It may drive your friends and family away for a while, but it'll do the same with any bugs! LOL
Get better and check your email.
Aloha.
Rich
If I were going to place an order now I'd place a GTC order at .0076 and leave it. AON's seem to not get filled easily here, fwiw.
215k shares traded so far today. em

Strat Petroleum Reaches Agreement for Implementation of Sludge Processing Solution
via COMTEX
January 23, 2007
TORONTO, Jan 23, 2007 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
Strat Petroleum, Ltd. (OTC:SPRL), an emerging exploration and development company focusing on oil and gas opportunities in the Russian Federation, today announced that its sludge oil recovery project in Bashkorstan continues to ship approximately 300 bbls per week. Due to harsh winter conditions this season the Company has decided to minimize risk and maintain current production levels with the expectation that the originally projected 100 bbls per day recovery will be achieved as the weather warms up heading into the Spring.
In order to increase revenues and profitability, Strat's local joint venture has signed an agreement with a regional oil refinery to process the Company's recovered oil into heating oil. This additional step in the sludge processing chain will improve overall gross margins on every barrel to upwards of 50%. Delivery of the 300 bbls/week to the refinery began January 8, 2007 with intent of an increase to 400 bbls/week beginning January 22, 2007. The refinery has allocated storage facilities of up to 1,500 bbls of delivered product, which will be refined within three days of receipt.
Aloha.
Rich
Excellent update velvet! Thank you very much! As I stated before, I am willing to occasionally call and get updates from the transfer agent. The latest update is posted in the board info here. I will be happy to call again sometime around the end of the month for another update. I don't see any reason to call more than once a month, and, personally, I think a quarterly call is more than enough. I'll post every time I make the call. If someone desires to do so more often then it would be appreciated if you would share your findings here.
Aloha.
Rich
Agree with you all. I'm down 34.5k currently and no cash to buy more...yet. Congrats Kcim...hopefully I'll be joining you in the 1M club within the next couple weeks.
Aloha

My pleasure David. I try to stay on top of things... although the refrigerator gets a little cramped.
I'll call and get monthly updates. I don't see a reason to call any more frequently than that. Last time I called was 1/18, so if someone really needs to know they can call ahead of me.

Soma Petroleum Limited, Equitable Mining Corp and partners complete acquisition of Actel/Aikete, Ltd assets and production line
via COMTEX
February 5, 2007
Equitable Mining Corp: EQBM Soma Petroleum Limited: SA1
TORONTO, Feb 05, 2007 /PRNewswire via COMTEX News Network/ --
Soma Petroleum Limited (SOMA) - (Frankfurt Stock Exchange: symbol SA1), Equitable Mining Corp (EQUITABLE) (a resource company trading on Frankfurt Exchange: E5W and on PinkSheets.com: EQBM) and partners announce the completion of the acquisition of Actel/Aikete, Ltd ("Actel/Aikete") for the rights to holdings in all assets to include mine tailings, land, capital infrastructure including one production line in exchange for cash and securities.
Actel/Aikete has licensed a unique technology with HMH called XL+. The XL+ methodology strength comes from its cost effectiveness to perform the extraction from the top with no heavy metals only precious metals. The process is a green process, entirely environmentally friendly using only chemicals, resins, water and acids.
This unique methodology of extracting combined metal oxides thru a combination of a proprietary bromine leach, resin in pulp, solvent semi-refining and precipitation has been implemented in a current production line with 4 tanks. The metals recovered are in an oxide form and easy to export to the refineries.
"The acquisition of Actel/Aikete achieves two key elements for SOMA. It offers us an increase in precious metals production from mine tailings in Dalian, China and also the capability to increase production capacity very quickly with another production line," said SOMA CEO Lawrence Skolnik.
About Soma Petroleum Limited
Soma Petroleum Limited (SOMA) is a Canadian registered corporation that has interests in oil and gas projects in the Horn of Africa and mine tailings project in Dalian, China. Boy am I jealous! Congratulations. em
Nice Rick. I got my GTC sell order in... just to send shorty a message. 25k @ 2.00.
Aloha
Reads wonderfully to me. My only complaint is that I don't have any more cash to invest...and this update reads to me like time is running out quickly.
Me either abbam. em
Thanks Benz em
How about when CLYP is at the bid? He's been there a lot also.
abbam: At this time I am trusting the company will deal with it. I have communicated with the company about it, as have others, and my understanding at this time is that they will deal with it in a way that they feel will be successful. I don't know how but at least it's not being ignored. The point of my post was to make people here aware that there is another likely factor as to why the share price is dropping other than dilution and selling.
I think one thing that is going on with SPRL that doesn't seem to get much attention here is that, to my knowledge, the company knows that the stock is being illegally shorted. To my knowledge they just don't know who is doing it. Having been a trader for 6 years and observing what I feel has been a lot of manipulation on many stocks, I would certainly say the same is going on here, although I have no solid proof.
This is an issue that I think needs more attention here because eventually we may have to play some role in helping the company to deal with it, however they may choose to do so.
The point is, when you see the stock price falling it might not only be because someone is selling or because the company is diluting.
Rich
who in the world is selling - that's what's puzzling me.
Shorty. It would be nice to get an update on that situation also.
Great acronym Brent, and quite appropriate I bet! em
Pardon me Brent but I have to correct you on one thing...
IHDR did not post his selling on this board. He posted it on his own forum. I remember clearly in one of his posts that day on his forum that he chose to not post his sales here out of "respect" for SPRL shareholders. To this day I don't understand that one.
I also gave IHDR the benefit of the doubt initially, but the way he handled the situation left me squarely convinced that this man does not deal impeccably with people. (Repeating numerous times that he lost money until he was called out on it, only to change the story to having lost money on the trades he made that day).
IHDR was given ample amounts of rope until he hanged himself. Obviously he's not resting in peace.
Joe or whoever...
If you're upset with Strat then take it up with them. End of story. All the rest if this is pointless.
Tekoah: Good luck to you in your investing. em
I still don't understand the whining. What do you intend to accomplish here with your venting? What is your goal? What do you want? Whatever the answer is to those, how do you intend to accomplish that by venting here? It's meaningless, pointless, useless.
Since you are wanting to "get real"... What are you really unhappy about? My bet is that you're unhappy because the share price is down. I also bet you didn't do enough of whatever you needed to do to be comfortable investing the amount of cash you did in this company. Looking for instant gratification? Become a trader. Get in and get out. I trade SPRL and I have a long term investment in it. I fully expect more of a wait..perhaps years longer...and I've expected it all along. How about you?
As far as who is attacking who, I think you might have that backwards.
