wouldn't mind a late day run as a potential signal of an early in the week PR next week... would be a nice way to cap off the week.
agree on the flood gates once star buds closes, since it signals t0 other potential acquisition targets that SHWZ is now real, and a major player. At that stage, other companies may be petitioning to come on board, if they aren't already. I just hope they don't announce too late in December when everyone is gone for the holidays and less attention is being paid to the market. But I'll take that confirmation any time they can give it.
My sister lived in Asheville for a while. Maggie Valley, Clingman's Dome, Chimney Rock, Granfather Mountain (ran the marathon up that thing), Hendersonville - Smoky's are a beautiful area.
was thinking the same, that or the shenandoahs
True, I doubt we will hear more at that time now though beyond that. They need to produce a highly professional and explanatory PR of what the Starbuds deal means to investors not on this board. This is the key turning point for the company, so I'm okay if they take their time, time the news correctly, and really sell the deal's value to current and more importantly future shareholders.
I guess next week or week after we'll hear something at this point.
is that you getting the 1.28s?
More like a John Karasinski movie, A Quiet Place...
To quote James Taylor, "That's Why I'm Here," and bought more today. I believe it's only time now.
you may be right, we may not hear until the formal PR which could come after the meeting today. I can wait... Let's hope though we get at least a wink and a nod from Dye today.
Well, call me crazy, but picked up a little bit yesterday and trying for a bit more today.
so far only news is the revised proxy statement.

pretty tight trading range this AM, shares being held in stingy hands. when this breaks, it could be a fun ride soon.
It may take a few months to get to the Senate. Timing of the upswing in a number of pot stocks seems tied to this vote, including Schwz. We have of course are waiting on other news for shwz during this time period before any potential senate rejection of the bill. could be a good run til then, and there could be a buying opportunity again if the senate doesn't pass the bill down the road - sector will take a hit.
you can thank me - every time I try to bottom feed mu luck pushes the stock higher... not that I'm complaining.
no news that I've been able to find
just got a bucket of shares at 1.26. I need another bucket to round my total again.
if anyone paid attention to the debate in Canada when rec legalization was being proposed there, this is deja vu all over again. Same arguments by the conservatives not tethered to facts, attacking incidentals like "timing" as a reason to sully the act itself, and so on. This will get passed just as Canada's decriminalization was passed.
agree, I'd expect the PR then on Monday. No one releases good news on a Friday. I have an order in for more shares today just in case it dips at the open or suffers a Friday malaise of trading
mesa came under scwazze when they were acquired. I missed your earlier post.
let's get the dba search results to be under Schwazze.... can't wait
Decriminalization, expunging records retroactively, and ensuring future, additional criminal penalties related to marijuana do not continue are huge and important changes not only for those who suffered under this criminalization, but businesses that have to account for this criminalization of the product they are producing and selling at the federal level.
The consequential impact on societal views of marijuana that decriminalization at the federal level would bring should only increase the majority of Americans who are already for legalized pot and also increase the customer base as well.
People pay more for pot out of fear of the unknown in terms of product quality on the black market (I know many grow their own, have great sources of good pot, but in the end, the regularity of brand and quality control, just like with liquor, will win the day, let alone scientific advances in product an industry can devise over backyard gardeners).
No law ever goes far enough, the nature of compromise, but as a first step forward in decades, it's in my opinion a sizable first step.
Remember as well that there were previously executive guidance / memorandums to not prosecute companies related to MJ when the states permitted those businesses. Trump and Sessions removed that guidance to free up the justice department to, if they chose, go after MJ businesses back in 2018. There's wiggle room the new administration will have to both signal their long term intent around MJ decriminalization and make things easier for pot companies even before full decriminalization by overturning that Sessions memorandum along with other executive orders Biden could do. Will be interesting to see if that plays out after January, but Covid and economic policy will be most likely the first things that gets attacked after inauguration. But pot is part of restoring and expanding economies, and I expect it to follow quickly.
I can only imagine what legalized pot would be like in Pennsylvania - available in Marijuana Control Board stores like liquor and wine run by the state, or forcing people to buy in bulk in 24 packs at the Marijuana Distributor stores... too funny.
.
I wonder how long it will take for the license transfer yesterday to appear in the Co. state license site -
so far no star buds under SHWZ
https://www.colorado.gov/MEDLicenseVerification/SearchResults.aspx
Since it's now the holiday season, am I permitted a wish list?
Post-Thanksgiving and before Christmas:
1. SHWZ announces Starbuds acquisition.
2. SHWZ changes its name to Starbuds officially.
3. SHWZ releases information on entering into a purchase agreement with one more company and provides general guidance on how many others are speculatively in the pipeline for 2021.
4. More word shared on how their retail model will evolve in CO as a precursor to national expansion.
In January:
1. the Biden administration announces the push for MJ decriminalization shortly after inauguration as part of his first year plan (which would be a huge win for the minority community that suffered most under that criminalization - a good gesture to his support).
2. Starbuds rockets in a New Years rally
bit surprised to see negative today - almost every pot related stock I keep an eye on is up, many significantly, with far less reason than shwz. surprising they aren't participating in today's general euphoria.
thinking similarly we get a run, I'll take some off the table, and hold the rest. would like to do that at $5 rather than $2...
you must be holding a bundle by now, good luck to you. I've got a fairly large stack of shares myself but I was buying them a bit further back, so my average price is a bit above where we currently sit. Lot of people on this board have been waiting a while for what's coming soon to actually come to pass. GLTA
Thanks for saving me the call to IR! Great news. buyers seem to be cakewalked in as well, so that news may be trickling out
until shwz considers expanding into more states, with their war chest, current, mature Colorado market, national changes would help, but it's icing on the cake. pot will be legalized, it won't take too much longer.
As John Candy said in the movie "Summer Rental" as he was burning on the beach, "That's a good base! A good base! See you gotta do these things in stages"
Let's hope the stage being set is for a rocket launch once the PRs start hitting.
I think the games are over for today... may be a bit of a run to close?
or someone desperate for cash selling his stake ahead of end of year. either way, I expect they'll regret it in less than a month and a half.
cdel needs a vasectomy
I long for the day the big buys are stepping up in the other direction, lol...
Yep, agree completely.
sold a portion of another position that has been a dog of late, figuring this will move first toward end of year and into 2021. with the usual New Years rally, covid perhaps getting under control once vaccine manufacturing and distribution ramp up, that rally could be sizable next year. Wall Street had higher projections for 2021 if Biden were to be elected as well, so that's another plus. Could be our year next year, we certainly need it after 2020.
I was 1730 shares short of a nice round number of shwz shares, so bought some just now.
Very likely. Really liking what I see here.
And here's a little more related to RIPKURRENT - which Krshnamurthy is involved. this is from the Food Retail section of the business - tell me this isn't applicable to pot retail, and what we're hearing inklings of in Dye's transcript yesterday:
https://www.ripkurrent.com/index.php/markets/food-retail
Another area of focus for the food retail sector is creating a truly immersive and engaging on-premise digital experience.
