Nice Columbus Day Apdn gift. Would like the lbs and revs associated with this also. Have to start with the equipment installs which is happening before the revenue pr's I guess. Hoping for a big October.
The dr mentioned the relationship with the Dla was better than ever and they are in contact with them every week, which this article reveals. This looks like they are wired in tight with the Dla. We are all waiting for the money article for increased revenue? Hope that's coming soon.
Boringgggg....got a go
Are we supposed to see something on the page?
The Admiral on a video vouching publicly for Apdn has to be a good thing. This relationship has been under the radar. Investors have had to rely on the Drs somewhat cryptic message to explain the relationship. This has
to be a huge help when going in and pitching more business in other silos. Hoping for a good email tomorrow morning.
Hope these guys have a surprise or 2 before end of Sept they can finally reveal. I would think with retailers removing all the products made by welspun, their would be a nice push to tag some cotton to get on the shelves and replace the counterfeits or at least soak up the extra cotton from last years harvest.
Just listened to the latest call, I think the Dr has an order of two in his back pocket that will make 2016 respectable vs 2015, would not bet on exceeding the 9mm in revs at this point. I think a plastic rev press release will hit in Sept.
Saw the news didn't see the stock today. Yesterday with no sniff of new revenue related news for the last 4- 5 months and the market said Apdn is worth 3.20. We get great surprising news about 50 million lbs marked bringing in hopefully 2mm in revs and the market says Apdn is worth 3.2. Really? Kind of surprising. Would have thought it was worth 5-10 cents. What do I know? Maybe tomorrow we go up a little.
We just got half the total needed to match last years total, looks like the Drs remarks last call he would match last years total you can bank on it. My take they must have last years total in the bag and we will see how far it exceeds last years marking lbs.
Several retailers and brand-owners have begun to use the SigNature T platform, that involves training and testing of every vendor in the supply chain -- ginners, spinners, dyers, weavers and assemblers," continued Hayward. "Multiple growers and gins are participating. Multiple international and US patents protect the technology."
He just told everyone several retailers are doing biz with Apdn. Last public statement in regard to
onboarded retailers was rhat they had a second retailer. That number is now several,,,,is that 3? 4? What the revenue is, still anyone's guess? Still hooked on my hopium pills.. DIRT TO SHIRT
I think the cost of implementation at least in cotton products is hopefully turning into a mandatory cost of doing business. When u factor 5 of the biggest retailers calling you out and double checking the authenticity of your products as well as one of the retailers throwing you and your products from their stores. How much is your firms reputation worth? This firm lost 500 mill in market cap because of counterfeits. Hopefully the Stony brook parking lot is full of new customers.
One issue we will have to deal with is how much info can Apdn reveal on this counterfeit scenario. If target is using us to catch the crooks can Apdn say anything or if I was target I would make them say nothing . This is a billion dollar global issue right now, and Apdn probablyly can't say anything as to their involvement. Just my opinion. They are on the inside of these company's supply chain and have more inside info than any supplier, and trust has to be a huge factor in regard to opening up your firm to an outside entity. Thinking good things here .
Every retailer is now aware of the cotton fraud including the big dog. WALMART

Wal-Mart Reviews Welspun Records After Target Pulls Sheets (3)
2016-08-23 15:46:50.739 GMT
By K. Oanh Ha and Rajhkumar K Shaaw
(Bloomberg) -- Wal-Mart Stores Inc. is reviewing Welspun
India Ltd.’s cotton certification records after Target Corp.
raised concerns that the supplier is passing off cheaper bed
sheets as premium Egyptian cotton.
Wal-Mart, the world’s largest retailer, plans to hold
further discussions with Welspun and “handle it appropriately”
if any issues are discovered, according to spokeswoman Marilee
McInnis. The chain is also reviewing its other suppliers of
Egyptian cotton products out of an abundance of caution, McInnis
said. The announcement sent Welspun’s shares down by daily
limits for a second straight session.
Wal-Mart is Welspun’s third-largest customer, behind
Target, which said late last week it had pulled sheets and
pillowcases off its shelves after discovering they were
mislabeled as Egyptian cotton. It also terminated all businesses
with the supplier. A Welspun representative didn’t immediately
have a comment when reached by Bloomberg News. Part of a roughly
$3 billion conglomerate headed by Balkrishan Goenka -- with
interests spanning textiles, steel, pipes, energy and
infrastructure -- Welspun said it manufactures every fifth towel
sold in the U.S. and counts J.C. Penney Co. and Macy’s Inc among
its customers.
‘Serious Issue’
“This is a serious issue,” said S.P. Tulsian, who runs
investment advisory firm SPTulsian.com. “On one hand the company
has been talking of $2 billion top line by 2020 and on the other
hand the U.S. is a very big market for them. Now that goal of $2
billion revenue will be difficult to meet.”
Welspun fell another 20 percent to 65.85 rupees on the
Mumbai exchange Tuesday. The 36 percent two-day slide -- the
steepest since 1999 -- cut the company’s market value to 66.2
billion rupees ($990 million). Welspun Group said it wants to
become one of India’s top 50 groups by market value by 2020,
according to its website.
Sumant Kumar, an analyst at Elara Securities India Pvt.,
cut his rating on the stock to sell from buy. Goenka’s family
and group companies hold about 74 percent in the home-textiles
supplier, with his wife Dipali Goenka acting as CEO and joint
managing director. On Monday, a company connected to founder
Goenka bought 500,000 Welspun shares in the open market,
according to an exchange filing.

Welspun said it’s reviewing its supply chain and would hire
a “Big Four” accounting firm to examine its processes. The
company is engaging with key customers, managing director Rajesh
Mandawewala said during a conference call Monday.
Wal-Mart and Bed Bath & Beyond Inc., Welspun’s biggest
customer, sell the company’s 500- and 800-thread count sheets
online under the Crowning Touch label. They retail for as much
as $175 a set.
“It is likely that other customers too will start raising
questions over Welspun’s supplies,” said Arun Kejriwal, a
director at Kejriwal Research & Investment Pvt. in Mumbai.
Welspun makes towels, sheets, rugs and carpets for 18 of
the top 30 global retailers. Sales to Target amounted to $90
million in the fiscal year that ended in March, or about 10
percent of the company’s revenue.
Egyptian cotton, which has a longer fiber that creates a
softer thread than other cotton, often carries a higher price
because shoppers consider it to be of higher quality.
Macy’s said it sells Welspun sheets under private brands,
but not ones that are marketed as Egyptian cotton. It doesn’t
plan to make any changes, spokesman Jim Sluzewski said in an e-
mail.
“Of course, we continue to monitor the situation,” he said.

This is great news for all stock holders ...we now have 2 of the top retailers on the planet policing the cotton fiber in its products and Apdn hopefully is right in the middle of their defense. The dr mentioned a second retailer who came on board after I think Costco?? Is it Target?? This 7 years of bringing fraud to the minds of retailers is now here to stay. Target is refunding customers which I hope Wellspun is paying. That will be a huge deterrent and activator to make sure you have a solid solution thru ur supply chain or you could pay with 900 million in market cap loss.. Anyone know a company that can provide that??

Target Severs Ties With Welspun Over Egyptian-Cotton Dispute (1)
2016-08-19 15:22:09.340 GMT
By Shannon Pettypiece
(Bloomberg) -- Target Corp. is ending all business with
Welspun India Ltd., one of the world’s biggest textile
manufacturers, after saying the supplier was sending it phony
Egyptian cotton sheets.
The retailer said it discovered last month that 750,000
sheets and pillowcases labeled as Egyptian cotton were actually
made with another type of cotton. The retailer pulled the items
from its stores, and on Friday it began notifying customers that
it will give them a refund on the products, which were produced
between August 2014 and July 2016 and sold for as much as $75.
I Customers seeking a refund can visit Target’s help page on its
website.
Target is Mumbai-based Welspun’s second-biggest customer,
behind Bed Bath & Beyond Inc., according to Bloomberg data. The
company makes towels, sheets, rugs and carpets for 18 of the top
30 global retailers. Its other major clients include Wal-Mart
Stores Inc., J.C. Penney Co. and Macy’s Inc. It also
manufactures the towels for the Wimbledon tennis championships
and the Rugby World Cup.
“We have informed Welspun that, due to this conduct, we are
in the process of terminating our relationship with them,” said
Molly Snyder, a Target spokeswoman. “We value the trust that our
guests place in us. The Target team will continue to work
closely with all vendors to help ensure that the products we
offer to our guests meet or exceed their expectations.”
Spokesmen for Welspun couldn’t be reached after regular
business hours in India.
Phasing Out
Target said it is phasing out all of its products from
Welspun, which it has used as a supplier for more than a decade,
though the process will take time since some merchandise has
already been shipped or paid for. The withdrawal only includes
two lines of Egyptian cotton bedding, and not all of its
Egyptian cotton sheets are affected.
Egyptian cotton, which has a longer fiber that creates a
softer thread than other cotton, often carries a higher price
because shoppers consider it to be higher quality.
Welspun India is part of Welspun Group, a conglomerate
which also owns Welspun Corp. Ltd., a pipe manufacturer that
also supplies major oil and gas companies.
Welspun India’s sales in the year through March rose 13
percent to 59.8 billion rupees ($891.6 million), and net income
climbed 30 percent to 7.03 billion rupees.
Only potential good news.....I repeat potential good news...the dr is ok with publicly stating the amount of lbs that are marked in cotton world from past behavior. This will at the least keep us out of the long haul vacuum of no news on revs for year end numbers like last year. Cotton is the next driver, until we get some break in another business silo.
Dtc please do us a favor and don't tell the local police depts, us defense dept, the cotton growers, Dreyfus, etc..that they can order our product over the web and do it themselves.....shhhh thanks.
He told everyone on the last call he had no guidance or projection on revenue growth. Translation ...expect poor results.. Exactly what he said on the last 2 quarterly earnings calls... Translation poor results. Expect the cotton revenues to start in September and flow thru Jan which should exceed last years numbers. First time he mentioned revenues in 6 months. I don't get how anyone could be surprised by the results they revealed? Not happy about it but he told us they would suck all along. He hinted the govt relationships were as strong as ever, hope that' means another contract or 2 in the near future. Plastics biz dwarfs the potential cotton biz. Waiting game continues.
Please stop the scam nonsense. They must be the best salespeople ever to scam the United States defense dept and 60 billion dollar Dreyfus company and big retailers like Costco. I'm not happy about results, but he said cotton sales will at least match last years total. They have met with 8 pharma companys in Japan with some sort of pilot going with a few of them. He said if they have had sales in plastics he would not automatically have publicly revealed with who and how much. Let's hope he has a few revenue story's waiting to be released. Right now bank on you increased cotton sales and hope for some other product line to start showing some life.

(Bloomberg) -- Money managers increased their wagers on a
cotton rally for a sixth straight week. Inventories are sliding
as farmers plant less in China, while dry weather is hampering
crops in the U.S. and India, the world’s top grower. For the

Wondering why the stock keeps slowly drifting higher a heck of a lot more fun than the opposite.
No news we have always matriculated down in price. No news now and we are climbing, hoping for tha revenue emails that must be around the corner.
Largest trade volume in 2 months(not saying much) hopefully a sign of good news that actually has revenue attached to it is coming. I liked the slow climb thru the day. We are due.
Saw this from an analyst in regards to chipotle. I hope someone at Apdn can call the ceo cog...In recent months, Chipotle has rolled out a string of stringent food safety measures to test and prepare food before they reach stores. These include DNA-testing of ingredients, preparation of certain foods (such as cheeses, cabbages and beef) and new internal training for employees. These measures will undoubtedly result in higher food safety costs which should compress margins. The food biz to prove organic etc...or the farm it was produced could be a huge biz.

1mill your confident revenue growth 2016 will exceed 2015 , your usually good with numbers, are u banking on all repeart orders from last year plus a few small additions in the cotton space? The dr has been very tight lipped this year about any rev forecasts.
Hope this starts revenue pr season. Nice that this is a totally different brand of cotton to increase the breath of potential cotton revenue.
No pr's brings the next logical painful question ....burn rate anyone? Only good news here is 20 something % of the stock is owned by employees so we know they are right along side of us, including the Drs chunk.
More good news that gets our name out in a different industry is never a bad thing. Not going to move the needle revenue wise but u want to be the secure go to in as many industry's as possible. Each signed agreement makes the next deal that much easier.
3rd qtr is over, let's hope the Dr has a few aces in his hand he hasn't been able to reveal for security reasons.
Nice bounce back late in the day hope that's a good sign. We hit 3.40 and went down to 3.12 and fought back to close3.32 range.
The video and q and a session was still going when it was cut off. Anyone know if any valuable info was after the hour and 14 minute mark?! One potential positive he mentioned was they have a few more agency's in govt they are dealing with that he hasn't announced yet, any chance that is additive to the 4mm contract that was signed? Also is Dreyfus and himatsinga involved in the upland cotton market also? That can be a fast uptick in volume considering all 3 have established business lines across the chain.
When did we get the first news of lbs of cotton that was marked last year. Are we behind schedule vs last year?
Any update if the video of the meeting has been posted to the website yet?
The Dr during the closing conference for 2015 mentioned 2016 would be the first year they would be focusing on sales in a few silos of verticals. On paper the people they are bringing in seem very well connected in their respective industry's. Hopefully these people had other job options and chose to be a part of Apdn because they felt these products would take it off with the right connections. Hoping also a lot of their pay was in equity which will light a fire under their.... And get some revenues on the pad. Last month of the 3rd qtr, cmon dr 4 months to deliver 10mm + in revs.
Seems like Maxim is expecting a big second half of cotton orders with a 100% increase over last year. Hope they know more than we do. They have been overly aggressive in their predictions so far. Time for some pr's that have actual revenues included.
The opening of the article says Mumbai, which is himatsinka's territory, yet the article is all about Egypt. Hopefully this is our technology being used and we can add Egyptian cotton to the supima and upland brands would be a strong trio. If not our technology, anybody want to see how strong our patents are in Egypt?
This is a big time conference,
This is a major conference if u open the url . It's a who's who of the economic minds in the world. Does it pay the bills no way but great exposure. Mauldin and pat cox are investors in Apdn and for being one of only 3 shops to be able to exhibit can't be a bad thing.
If it's $35 a car I would hope the Dr is doing the right thing if this is another pilot program. My opinion for the first country to try this out you probably just want to cover your costs to make it as cheap as possible to get the test case going for a track record. Once proven as a successful deterrent ( no reason to believe it won't have an impact) you now have the ability to up that fee to 10x times that (my guess). If you have a car worth 100k or more.. $350 would be chump change for the assurance that your car would be not as likely to be a target. Hopefully we all can spend $350 to mark our sports cars in 2018.
Amazing how long the trials go with new technology to be proven and accepted. These guys have been using/testing for 5 years before signing a 2 year deal. Now with proven proof of concept, timelines for this business silo should shrink dramatically, and also transfer costs of the trial programs to the users. Let's hope press release season in a few silos has officially started.
