Not really, the majority of us only look at our local channels for local news. And just about all tv's are smart tv's now, and with an antenna we can pick up stuff no prob. Now I will say that's where the DVR should be ushered in. Currently, ABC, CBS, NBC are NY affliates, and in eastern time zone. Those on the west coast may miss out out on a lot of stuff without that DVR while at work or out and about. So far Viva have delivered on a lot of things so far, so I can't see the DVR not coming soon.
I won't ask about your conversation, I know that's privliged, but good God if I could talk to him, I'd luv to know when the movies are really going to hit, and if they really are in fact the ones that have left the movie theaters a month or two ago. Oh, and the DVR. That's all.
You Da Man!!!
I could be wrong hdsmonkey, but I think the owner of the AirBNB owns 40 apartments. I think... So like an apartment owner, or home owner who is renting, they can draw up contracts designating service providers. In this case, the owner of 40 apartments cancelled their Comcast contract, and now those who reside in those 40 apartments will start using Viva Live. So yes, those in the apartments will still have to pay for their own service. Like I tried to say too in my earlier post, on Twitter, what people were confused about was if it only 40 individual people, or was it 40 apartments. The official viva tweet said 40 apartments. It didn't say 40 apartment buildings. 40 buildings would be huge. I think it's 40 apartment buildings myself. Sorry if I've confused you even more. lol
I think it's so courteous that the CEO is taking time to keep the investors as up to date as he has been considering all that's going on. Thank you too JM, keep it up.
Your welcome deepthinkin. Funny cuz the technology has actually been all around us for some time now, but now that I'm in it, I see something new every day lol. There's a little bit of back and forth on Twitter trying to figure out if this will mean 40 subscriptions, or is it 40 apartments. If it's 40 apartments, that will be a nice little haul.
Just got a tweet back from a Viva official. They were responding to my tweet to them about the CNN reporter in the mist of the hurricane having to broadcast using OTT methods. He said they got a call from a RBNB owner of 40 apartments who just cancelled Comcast for Viva. The subscription numbers should start picking up soon guys and girls!!!
While watching storm coverage this morning, the reporter getting the crap pelted out of him said they weren't able to broadcast using via their traditional methods which were down, and that they were using cell phone towers. And sure enough, there were no disruptions. This technology is truly the way forward. So glad got in in it's infancy.
Switching subjects. Man it's so nice to have football season back in full swing. Hopefully one day, (soon I hope) the NCAA will at least come up with a better playoff system. I say the top 16 teams at the end of the season should play for the national championship. That's my quick version. It get more complex, but everyone makes money, which is what its all about. And it why we have all the bowl games now.
That's the thing too shadowdoc1, if the two of us are discussing all these options, you know JF and his cohorts have also. Capital is no doubt clearly Viva's hindrance. Once again, you brought up another huge deal that will go such a long way, and that's ROKU. Waiting on the test from JF that ROKU and Firestick are now certified. Can't see a couple hundred sign ups just out of curiosity from that alone.
Yep. Once again shadowdoc1, HUUUUUGE!!!
shadowdoc1, this would be a perfect time to pounce on a number of fronts. JF just tweeted about DISH Network not working in Browsed Co. Perfect opportunity to appeal to disgruntled satellite customers who lose service during even mild storms. And another huge deal is Sling losing FS1. Why, because their parent company DISH Network would not pay the increased fees by FOX this year. It's my understanding that all BIG 10 games are all gone because of this. Can you imagine how ticked the Big 10 fans are now. That's huge, and a another golden opportunity for Viva. It's so hard to look at all of the low hanging fruit, but as JF said these things cost money, so patience is of the essence here. Tough though
They don't cost anything extra if you have a subscription. They're on CBS, FOX, and NBC. We're all still waiting (some of us patiently, some of us impatiently) on the sports channels.
It's coming once VIVA offers the same content. Relevant movies, cloud based DVR, and they're there. Reading the official VIVA tweet along the lines of its a good time to own shares, I think they are very close though, very close.
Kinda agree with ya there percival77. This is now the new credit card grind we went through a few weeks ago. I'm sure it will get done, but boy is it painful.
Exactly!!!
420Stocks, that FREE site is nothing like OTTV. As I stated to bigbaby9, it's free because of all the adds. I would much rather have an real TV experience that I get with Viva. If they really are a POS company, with totally incompetent management as posted by so many members here on IHUB, I think it will rear it's head if they don't come through with current movies, and a fully functional DVR in another month or two tops. By then they may fall by the wayside like so many others before them. I could be dead wrong, but man, I just don't think they've come this God***n far just to say crap on this, mission accomplished, we've ripped everybody off just like we planned all along, and made our millions. Till then, I hope you will make a ton of money in the meantime time, you've been around for a while, and it seems as if you know how this game is played, I'm sure you'll make out fine.
No Problemo.
People are on the sidelines waiting for subscription numbers, 8k, and 10k. JMO
hdw2620, I was going to ask how the sign ups were going a few days ago, but all that is meaningless now as my prayers are with you guys starting in the next 24 hours. A few subscriptions lost is nothing, those can be made up. We can never get a life back. Stay safe my friend.
Bigbaby9, if you're ok with the endless freezing, meaning some games will be over before all the freezing stops, Viva has been nothing but flawless when I watch it, and with the adds that take up a ton of screen space, (which is how it's free of course), advertising for penis enlargement, legal steroids, etc.... it's not too bad. I'm not knocking it, as I think there's room for everybody out here. I'm sure a lot of people are straight with it, that why sites like that exist. Cheers
Viva just added the Florida Channel, which is channel 150 for those who would like to stay informed with updates on Hurricane Irma. Needless to say, we're praying once again that everyone please stay as safe you can.
Hahaha. So true TH11. I forgot about illegal cable. One of my cousis had it. I remember going over to their house and the channels where fuzzy and looked like crap. But they kept using it until cable finally found out how to all but eliminate it. So many people want something for nothing. And they always think so what, these big companies make billions of dollars, I'm not hurting them by stealing a little cable. One person stealing at $80 a month is nothing, but a half million people at $80 a month is staggering. SMH
rustaboy, more than anything else , I love when you said "LEGALLY BUY". I know a dude who brags endlessly about his firestick he got for $25, and he's getting 4000 channels, he can watch any game, etc. I told him it's called a jailbreak firestick, and that free ride will be ending soon. He can't record, or anything, there for he said he has to miss a lot of programs he would like to see. But it goes to show you people don't care about things like that, as long as they are getting a ton of channels for a low price. Something I've said over and over again on this site when Viva didn't have their CC issues worked out, and people where going nuts. But at least Viva is totally LEGAL!!
Gee Whiz Thor, that was really deep!!! My God, if they ever put it in place. If someone with a ton of capital took a chance on this, I think it would pay off handsomely. As I say sometimes, fingers crossed.
It seems as if a lot of peope got a little glossy eyed with Viva's Tmobil mention. Maybe they shaped it into their very own narrative, which meant millions of dollars in their pockets. (Don't get me wrong, that's what most of us are here for right) It's easy to say well if they get 400 stores, then 4000 will come soon, and if we just get 100 customers out of those stores, Wow Wee. So as you said earlier, he never said that, but after some people continued to say it over and over, it became fact to them. I still think we should be fine.
I think he's also learning a little on the fly usgirls. As we see now, JF is being very selective with his tweets. The flippers aren't happy, but he making sure the info has substance. That way, it can't be turned around and used against him.
I was thinking along the same lines acampors. As long as it doesn't say "EXCLUSIVE" with Tmobil, Viva should be fine. You also have franchises who are also free to work along different pathts as well. At work right now and I don't have a lot of time to think it through. So I could have very easily missed some legal mumbo jumbo.
Obviously the word is truly getting out now. And once the dealer/referral guys and girls are out there, it should really take off. I will be emailing VIVA to inquire about this program. I'm off Monday and Friday on one week, and Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday the next week. So this may be just right up my alley.
You know it. To see the pictures of the VIVA posters, fliers in the stores, is really starting to give this thing validity. It's real now.
Hey jmmatthews67, just took a look at Viva's Twitter page, and guess who is asking Viva for an email address for someone in Viva's PR department. The same people who said VIVA had a DMCA notice, broken/fractured web, and questioned their legitimacy. Yep, Cord Cutter News. I guess we're legit now. Hahaha
Thanks 50chuck.
Can someone set me straight on something. I read someone's post that said because Jack Brewer's firm is affiliated with Viva, he can't say anything about Viva Live on CNBC, or Fox Business when he is a guest on their programs. I'm sure they said it was illegal for Mr. Brewer to say anything. Total bologna or what?
Once everything is in place, the media blitz starts, and substantial revenue start coming in, and in particular when Jack Brewer comes from behind the shadows, the last thing we will need are guys like that questioning Viva's legitimacy. Everyone will know it's the real deal.
If that's the case, I'm thinking the owner of the site was just being a turd when responding back to jmmatthews. Onward, and upward we go!!!! Thank you guys for the info.
Ooooooooooh. Now I get it. I read those post from you guys a little while back about Jets and Giants games. It totally makes sense now. The ABC, NBC CBS, channels are coming from your local NY affliate. Just like Direct TV used to do it way back in the day before we all started to get our own local channels. No matter where u lived, we only got our NBC, ABC, CBS content from the big cities. Damn, that is a gold mine for sports fans in your area.
Wow Rainmaker, I've never heard of DMCA notices till today. Behind the times I guess. Started looking into it even further, and it lead me to torrents and Bit Torrents and so on, and I just stopped there. But from what I gathered, I'm sure ur way more up to speed on this than I am, but it seems like copywrite infringement and so on. Some dude said he was downloading HBO movies through torrents and HBO contacted him, he was now scared, what should he do, yada yada yada. If Viva had an issue such as that, I can't imagine them not having cleared this issue up. Way over my head at the moment.
Yes indeed. When those movies and DVR are in place in a week or two, it's just going to be hard to top Viva, hands down. The only, and I mean the only thing that might be a little bit of a sticking point may be the sports fans not having sports at their finger tips. NFL, NBA, MLB, and college sports for those of us in the states, and soccer for our Latin America constituents. But that doesn'thave anything to do with Viva's quality. And we know the sports channels are coming. Even the big boys didn't have sports and or local channels when they started out.
Thanks jadkin2. Seems as if we're getting there.
UncleRico13, that is an awesome site. Keep in mind this is just my opinion, before we ask them to post an article about Viva, maybe we should do It after the hard launch. I read a couple of articles on the site, and they list all the short comings of all streaming companies. They brought up shortcomings about companies I didn't know were out there. I know no matter how hard you try you can't pleas everyone, but I just don't want it to be because we aren't fully operational yet. The things complained about here on IHUB, will now be on a global scale. Hell, who knows, maybe I'm making too much out of them getting it right. I'll shut up now, time to fire the grill up. lol. Enjoy the rest of your Labor Day
