Definitely.
I can't believe the BB. No action at all. May have to scan the pinkies just for fun.
Stock has done nothing for a few years. That company grew so fast they just kept splitting the stock. It's like BRK now. When you have a market cap of over 200B+ there's not a lot that can move you up big. I think in the future they'll be a big divy payer. Only real avenue they have for big growth looks like huge acquisitons. Maybe they'll buy YHOO, lol.
Supposed to have some good things in the works. Still could fall a bit over the next couple months.
MSFT is starting to approach a value play. 10 billion is a lot of shares out. Never thought I'd see it move 3 bucks in one day again.
Is wild. Not used to seeing 30 - 40 cent swings. But that's less than 1% movement when you think about it.
Last post for today...that was quick. I believe in the old Limit Order at all times, but I sure wouldn't buy or sell that at market...gains / loses 30 cents at a heart's beat.
Nice call on the FNIX...I didn't hop in though. Didn't feel the love. Puke.
It would've been hard...but I'm sure a couple people bet the farm at 60.
I think the Fed Chmn should be allowed to at least smack the senators when they ask a patently stupid question that a high-schooler wouldn't. Just walk right up to the dais and "bitch-slap" the fellow, lol.
Looks like the Shake is even fed up with the BB, lol.
A cold chill just went down my spine at the thought of scanning the quote request leaders on the flamingo board again. I feel like you did after your meeting with the "old crew".
He was a smart man. I'm sure it is getting closer to 10, lol. I just always think the Fed overdoes it. Can't argue with our stock market performance really since the 80's when the anti-inflation guys took over the nest.
The new Chairman is as loony as the last one, LOL...claims part of recent growth has been due to the vigilence of Fed tightening. These guys would take credit if I bought a penny stock that went up.
Watching the L2 on it. Hey...that VLO trades like TLM, lol...it's all over the place. Can't believe it hit 60 this morning.
Good early alert though. I like to be able to see them when they're up less than 25%. Often don't catchem until they're up 40% which makes me nervous. Looks like some people see the value in VLO. If it makes it back to HOD might actually trade logically.
Watching it for the action within the next 5MM in volume. Seen this one feather out before.
Makes me want to bring out the Shakey puke bucket, lol. At least I can tell myself "it's a pinky". Not that that helps.
Must be some major shorts out there. That thing gets knocked off every move.
Would think so. As for the BB, I didn't even set my alarm this morning to get up and read the news. Bad policy but things have been just that slow. That stock will have to hit 63 / 64 again today.
Wouldn't be surprised if the co announced a buyback.
Sheesh. So much for common sense. That thing was up 4 bucks on the earnings news. What's it got a 5 PE now? That is sick.
I always thought that getting a % mgt fee was the same thing as getting paid on unrealized gains / losses. Apparently, you can take home paper profits.
I think if I was cold calling these guys interested in ITWJ...I could sell them sunshine in a bottle, LOL. Sheesh...why don't they just mail me their checks?
No doubt. You're feeling what these hedge fund pros do - they have to take the opposite side of the market a great deal to get those extra returns they have to have to impress their partners. Not saying where VLO will go mind you...but real money is made when you buy good companies on the way down. I suppose the trick is how much you buy and when. I think to be safe, we're going to have to always divide our money in the bigger stocks into fifths. That's investment money I mean. When you're looking for a trade you have to go all in.
This process sure isn't for the faint of heart. I can see why our bud on TV lost all his hair.
Something I learned about that game...did you know that the hedge fund managers actually get paid at the end of the year on a % of assets and UNREALIZED gains and REALIZED gains? That's amazing. Booking UNREALIZED gains. That's why they can stop trading sometimes in Oct / Nov...book those profits.
Can't figure it out really. Even if some of the things the Prez talked about - like easing the pollution standards - does help supply increase theoretically, my understanding is that the refiners are near capacity anyway.
Very much so. Must be that sell in May and go away thing come early, lol.
Don't think you've missed anything.
VLO a-rockin'. I thought pennies moved fast, LOL. These oil plays move up / down 5% in a heartbeat.
It's got the lowest PE in it's peer group. 8 times earnings I believe. Cramer just said it had 5% growth. That's a decent ratio. It seems like a big over-reaction to me - as the entire group is down today. No other reason for it but the PREZ's speech. And that doesn't seem like much ado. If they relax pollution standards, that's good for VLO. You can't build more refineries tomorrow. And you can't develop alt fuels overnight either. If VLO was the only company down - despite great earnings - I'd be worried.
Seems like a good buy to me. I'm learning something in studying trading though. If you're investing - not trading - assume that the price will go down immediately after you buy. Put in small orders on the way down. If you're wrong and the stock skyrockets without you getting your full position, BIG DEAL. You still have a nice gain.
I know if I would've had some money - for good or bad - I would've been accumulating VLO today. Watch tomorrow and the next day...the stock will be green. My hunch anyway.
yeah...I was called a paid basher for asking what the O/S were once, lol. These guys must get out of their dorm rooms more often...in case they don't know...There be girlz on dem darn campuses!
Yeah. Some better vol on the actives than yesterday. Nothing catching my attention.
Just giving VLO away. Half position early this morning. Half now. Reduce that basis, LOL! I can't imagine how much fun it would be to play with real money.
Wish that "secret" report would've told me what three companies were chosen...or did I miss it. Yeah...don't chase. Nice rn though.
That would be sweet.
This thesis I had would've worked last week...though I'm not saying this is the cause in the rise. I was just trying to play around with this derivative game. It went like this: higher gas prices, people have less money to travel to see movies, etc. Less money for dinner. More time spent at home. Can't go to Block Buster. Order in. Buy Netflix, LOL. Thing was up like 4 bucks. I need capital...this "ain't" all that hard.
Our plan is like my plan to date and have my way with Ms. Keibler...hope and pray.
Like the action on the FPPL...can't find any real news though. With pinkies I like to have at least a few "reported" (which can admittedly mean imaginary) revenues. Wonder if Shakey knows?
Sent you a mail with some rev estimates. I don't think you'll regret the VLO purchase - even for a trade. I'll look into the FPPL. TLM is nuts for a big board stock. Reminds me of Dell in it's heyday or Stinger, LOL - on a smaller scale.
If I were rich I would've bought some VLO this morning. Down a buck on great earnings...dipped on the prez's speech. I can't do much with a 68 dollars stock though.
Nice...mktwtch is down. I hope RB didn't buy it, LOL.
