Is there a problem with SI ? I cannot sign on.
wanna BMW FUD ? NAW !!!
have been elevated to the current level of consciousness
Does this include ANALysts and duh EDIOT ?
You probably should read this first: http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&cid=74&ncid=1209&e=2&u=/cmp/20040901/tc_...
With itesticle performance and about one half of the power consumption; there is no doubt, at least in my mind, that these parts will be incorporated in new design win end products, like higher end stuff.
Very interesting post. I sent the link on to several people that I correspond with.
whatever the acronym is Try EMTy64
Do you suppose that some of them show signs of having ridden their bikes without a helmet ? :)
The 3700+ models have strained sillycone 130 nm parts.
HP is probably a good bet to have 35 watt A64 notebooks in about another month or so.
Do you mean that the elmplanT is "The Nothing" ?
SI really sucks whenever those guys post and are answered.
BTW Did you see this: AMD sneaks strained silicon into chips
Advanced Micro Devices has begun to incorporate a form of strained silicon into its chips, a design twist that will let the company increase the performance of its processors... The strained silicon is being incorporated into all of AMD's 90-nanometer chips, which the Sunnyvale, Calif.-based company has just started shipping to PC makers. The technology also will be added to 130-nanometer chips that will be released this quarter....
http://zdnet.com.com/2100-1103-5317169.html
It could start to happen this quarter. I have trouble thinking that it could really take more than one additional quarter. There are just too many positive things happening in Q4 for it to go beyond that.
...AMD will be making money like it never has....
AND some time before AMD is earning more dollars per share than its price per share, the price per share may just start to go...up.
It is far too big a story for mainstream publications to ignore.
Now that 64 bit Windows for inteL's KLUDGE is out there, how long do you think it will be before the first "WIN 64 SURE RUNS LIKE SH*T on EMTy64" stories first start to appear ?
You might want to drop into a local Best Buy or Circuit City store to see what is selling in the laptop arena lately.
Do not knock it...pauL is once again giving one of his infallible AMD buy signals.
In all fairness the other boards were appropriate for such a post.
Thread SPAM ?
Unless an announcement comes from AMD and/or DELL
GIVEN AMD'S PRACTICE OF NEVER ANNOUNCING PRIOR TO ITS CUSTOMER, I would only start to give it credibility after Hector hissself says it...and then only skeptically.
"Good beer" is an oxymoron. I drink water from my 230 foot deep well.
It was not lost on me, but I was amused at how it was posted by the Hellraiser.
not the crappy ones from the US
Yes, but we have the finest diet colas.
32- or 64-bits per second ????????????
Straight from Hector's mouth ? HHHHHMMMMM ? I think that we may be in very deep shit here !!!!!!
Itanium is sucking on the cash cow x86. Without it, it would die a quick death. Opteron can swipe the cow. That's why Intel is so worried.
Not exactly, I think that you vastly understate the case. All of inteL sucks at that tit. That is why inteL is so frantic.
inteL is frantic, you know.
Does it mean that IBM does not trust its microelectronics division?
Not as silly an idea as you might think. Different divisions of IBM function and "think" as though they were totally different companies.
OH! PAIN...the chipguy and I agree on something.
The real reason is that Ron (RONCO tm) Popeil cancelled his order for 1 million of those buggers for the Xmas season: http://64.4.16.250/cgi-bin/linkrd?_lang=EN&lah=f97010e133dd7763e3d477e68eaa4ac9&lat=10913804...
(edit) A google search yields the following players: Dell Computer, IBM, Motorola, AMD and Samsung. Who do you think that it is ?
Are you trying to start yet another dulL rumor ?
The ninth generation K will result in a doubling of pins (though optical paths could impact that) but a "clean kill" of all inteL offerings could go a way towards justifying that socket change.
He is getting especially lame in his posts; and with the reappearance of pauL, can an upside move be far off ?
I normally do not respond to you, but your proposition is just so lame that I have to. I suggest that AMD will get ample warning as it will ring out over the entire industry as all will in unison chant "WE WANT DDR2...WE WANT DDR2...." and so on...just as they did when inteL offered RambusT and AMD did not.
Since when do ITs demand a particular kind of memory...new memory type at that as a decision criterion ?
What am I missing ? Apparently a great deal. AMD's prices seem to virtually all be well above its reported ASPs. Please explain this to me. Please speak (write) slowly and try to use small words. Be patient now.
Probably one of the more significant anecdotal data...no really.
The video card also sucks.
Like the punch line in the joke where first prize is one night with the Rabbi's wife and second prize is two nights with the Rabbi's wife, I suspect that two week's free trial will be better than a month's free trial.
