Anyone here use the Ipad with TD Ameritrade? I use Command Center 2.0 on my PC, but it is Java based and (I think) not compatible with the Ipad. TD has an app for the Ipad and I was looking for some feedback before I drop the 1k on the the Ipad and mobile service.
How about Thinkorswim with the Ipad?
Much appreciated.
Do we know when he was quoted? That would help.
Happy Easter to all.
BTH, as usual you are the man when it comes to digging up those little hidden gems. Help me out please. Unless I am missing something, this doesn't seem to be anything for everyone to get all worked up about.
I know he has more med cred, but Chawla is basiclly saying what Harv has been saying all along, no? They both are saying they expect follow through data to be positive. Obviously it is positive that the lead MD is giving it the thumbs up, but are we guilty of reading the tea leaves again?
I am just trying to remain objective in what is becoming a difficult time to do so.
Thanks for the great dd.
Wouldn't you think it is most likely a hedge on a long position?
I'm not buying the author's insinuation. For this to make any sense from a bearish perspective, the trader either has to have inside info on Ariad's drugs or he/she is one gambling SOB. How could a bet on a 40% collapse make any sense if you didn't have knowledge of a failure of something (from the timing most likely Rida).
Thoughts?
Sorry on the road no time to cut and paste
Option monster posted an article on the put action yesterday. Take a look
Well, at least we don't have to wait very long to know the outcome.
Thanks PGS.
Do you expect a Rida NDA announcement from MRK after Asco? It seems like the bullishness around these parts is overlooking a major binary event staring us in the face as we speak.
Perhaps Time man of the year or the Pulitzer. This board is getting a little too giddy, even for me (and I have a lovely set of pom-poms and a sweater that says: A-R-I-A).
Maybe the Harv watches the S/P minis and had Maria type it up quick. lol
I don't see any up front cash as well. Not big news but seems to be well timed. The S/P futures up 18 won't hurt.
Different strokes for different folks.
FYI, I don't own nor am I buying FCSC, it has already moved 40% in a short time.
Absolutely a mo play. Just realize when it's time to hop off the train.
OB took the time to give me an extremely detailed answer to a question I posed re: AMRN trading poorly at the end Q1. I was fairly confident that it was temporary, but his response was so on point, that if I had any random thoughts of selling, that response solidified my position.
Fast forward to a tremendous cash out yesterday. Moral of the story is that the opportunity to learn from the knowledge of the posters here is incredible. I don't always agree with the opinion, but these guys know their stuff.
It is hardly a coincidence that since I started reading this board daily, my trading/investing profits have increased substantially.
Thanks and GLTA!
I was thinking yesterdays low would be a nice place to re-enter. Somewhere around $14.50. Very tough to tell where this one will land. I was thinking of going with the long term in the money calls. What do you think?
I should have asked the Harv about the Endo trials. Mrk is starting to annoy me.
Sold 1/3 of my common @ $16 and 1/2 of the Sept $4 calls @ $12.
OB thanks for your insight on the VC induced sell-off. Outrageous trade here boys and girls.
Perhaps some of you might want to roll some of your Amrn profit into Aria on this down day. Not really talked about much around this board, but I like the odds from here.
GLTA
Hopefully, as BTH says, things get a little crazy around here by then.
Can you turn water into wine as well? :)
You know I'm not a 100% believer in the technicals, but the 8-21 ema cross on the Aria chart you posted seems to be pretty convincing to me. Nice job.
Me too (and a few others here thanks to you)! Great presentation. Safety profile, although not long term, seems very good as well. Agreed?
What % of GDC-0449 does Roche own? Seems like the Aria-Mrk Rida deal.
You are right. Effin Yahoo got me again. I should have known better to check Ameritrade. My bad.
Puts are back again. 4500 May 6's so far today
Cris was/is BTH's baby. He posted some pretty dramatic slides of the Hedgehog in action on Bio Values. Search it out over there (if you have not already). It traded similar to Aria in that it has recently ran up past 4.40 and has since pulled back some. Might be a good timed buy for you.
Good luck
Some decent volume in the May 6 and 7 puts the last 2 days
Now now ladies, let's be nice.
BTW Op-ex is Friday, so expect some PPS silliness for a few more days.
I have AMRN in a basket with stocks like ZIOP, CRIS, NEOP, etc. and yes, my beloved ARIA. I would call that basket "ASCO run-ups/spec bio's" (not all are oncology companies). They certainly higher beta, but also higher potential alpha. I spread them out to help minimize the risk if 1 or 2 fail. All of these have had substantial increases in PPS lately. Abstracts are due 5/18, so I will make decisions on trimming down my positions by then or so.
After reading so much about it here, I happen to really like MNTA as well. However I believe MNTA belongs in another category. Much less beta than the others mentioned, IMO.
That's my 2 cents.
Regards, Joe
I don't know. Ariad is going to need someone who knows about running a business that makes money soon. Imo, the scientific mind is often not best suited to run a successful business.
I know Clackson is a very bright man but they are going into a new paradigm here and Clackson is a scientist by trade, not a businessman. Home Depot replaced one of it's founders (Arther Blank) as CEO years back and brought in a nuts and bolts guy (no pun intended) to run the show.
Bob Whelan is supposedly pretty sharp too and that is his bread and butter. He might be better suited. I am speculating here. It's all pointless because I don't think Harv is going anywhere for at least 5 years. It would be kinda like taking a woman out to dinner, having a great time, a few bottles of wine and then saying "no thanks" when she invites you up to her place for an after dinner drink. He did all of the hard work, now it's time to enjoy the fruits of his labor. Harv is steering this boat into the harbor. Bet on it.
Yes, we need something to talk about around here till Asco.
Who knows, maybe Harv will tap him to be the next Aria family don. He might have to kiss the ring a few times
I've got news for you guys, this ain't the same old Aria anymore. I am surprised. The Aria of old would have dumped another 5% today. I think perception of this company has finally changed. Let's get good Rida data @ Asco and we will be in the double digits. Maybe for good. Cross our fingers.
I thought he presented well. Seemed very confident in Rida. I didn't get a chance to hear Clackson for more than 5 minutes. I should have polled the board for some potential questions. I was going to ask about the Endo trial, but I clammed up.
BTW, $7.70-7.75 would be about 10% pullback off the high. That should do it. Barring any macro market sell-off.
BTH my man, after having taken a second look at Cris's move today, I have reconsidered my position. You're right, there are no such things as healthy pullbacks. As a matter of fact, EVERYTHING you have ever said is 100% correct as far as I am concerned. Including calling Aria "this pig" from $3/share.
Thanks again
Apples and oranges pally. You are actually making my point for me. From 12/3/99 - 3/3/2000 pps went from $1.50 - $48.00 for absolutely no reason. Is that a healthy upward move or a massive bubble ready to collapse at any moment?
Btw, you had to go there didn't you? I asked you not to bring that one up. My right eye just started twitching again :(
Listen bud, we don't have to agree about everything. You keep giving me ideas like Cris and you can say whatever ridiculous thing you want as far as I am concerned.
Wrong!
Lots of volume in the June puts/calls as well. Maybe the VC's are done with their spring cleaning.
Do you have an exit strategy for Cris? Sorry, I know this is the Aria board.
No prob. No panic. Just may be some listening in on this board that are looking for guidance and may not know the Aria history. Don't want to see some poor bastard get creamed if this goes bad.
Fair enough, you and I did this dance once before. Maybe from an accounting and pragmatic perspective your valuation might be correct. But these are the filthy animals of wall street we are talking about here. They may run this up a while before they figure out it's way overvalued.
As far as a hostile bid, I'm not expecting it.
