Drones and Drone Laws: Mike Elliott
“The concept of privacy continues to be redefined by technology. We’ve talked for years about online threats but what about right outside your window? This week’s report of a woman who woke to a drone peeking into her bedroom makes the point that privacy is increasingly in danger of disappearing. What happened to her wasn’t illegal, though it may make you think twice about your window coverings and what’s covering you if you like to be home in your underwear. And it’s also getting under the skin of drone business owners such as Mike Elliott, Owner and General Manager of Drone Services Hawaii.” –The Conversation: Hawaii Public Radio

DS USA receives USPTO trademark confirmation delivery drones ignition
Monday 7 September 2015 | 11:47 AM CET
Drone Services USA (DSUSA) has received United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) trademark confirmation numbers for its “ProDropper” and “ProSearch” applications.
The ProSearch is the Company’s main proprietary search and rescue (SAR) drone on which its entire line of “Pro” platforms are based, postandparcel.info reports. This serves as the “template” drone. The ProDropper, developed by DSUSA’s Director of Research & Development, Euan Ramsay, is a proprietary delivery system designed to allow drones to manage multiple payloads in the same voyage.
The ProDropper can be used with the company’s own proprietary drone platform, the ProCargoX, but it can also be sold to customers using other drone systems. The delivery system uses special electro permanent magnets which hold the cargo in place, until they receive the signal to release. This means that the ProDropper has no moving parts which could jam or fail.
The USPTO has given ProDropper trademark serial number 86723400 and ProSearch trademark serial number 86722269. Although DSUSA developed its systems for the SAR solution, they could well “cross over” into the parcel delivery market.

Drone Services USA, Inc. Announces Three FAA 333 Exemptions Granted since August 5, 2015
PR Newswire
FENTON, Mich., Sept. 2, 2015
FENTON, Mich., Sept. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Drone Services USA, Inc. (The "Company") (OTC Markets: DSUS) is pleased to announce that August and the first day of September 2015 has been very kind--on August 5, 2015, DSUS Director, Solomon Nieves was granted an FAA 333 exemption. On August 29, 2015, DSUS CEO & President, Joel Bredow, received his exemption notification. On September 1, 2015, Directors Mike Elliott and George Purdy of Drone Services Hawaii received their FAA 333 exemption.
"This is beyond exciting for the company," says CEO & President, Joel Bredow. "The stretch of time between submitting an application for this exemption and actually receiving a response, whether positive or negative, takes several months. While awaiting response from the FAA it was imperative that as a company whose operations depend in large part on obtaining the exemption we remain in lockstep, posturing ourselves for what's next. Although this can be very nerve-wracking, it's very satisfying since DSUS is resolute in not only providing our proprietary drones and our patent pending payload dropping system, safety & training is paramount. It is very difficult to offer all of this in one package without this exemption. Our aim has always been to stay one step ahead in not only UAV capabilities and related technology but in safety, training and repairs as well. These exemptions allow us to legally conduct demos, train and fly for commercial purposes," says Mr. Bredow.
DSUS is pleased to also announce that its director of SAR, FIRE & FAA Affairs, George Purdy, is presently completing negotiations at the University of Alaska for an FAA test flight certification program. Mr. Purdy arrived on August 30, 2015 and is expected to return to the Hawaii facility in the next several days where he is expected to announce the consummation of these negotiations and details.

DSUS Files For Provisional Patent Protection Of Its Electro-Magnetic Payload Dropping System "ProDropper"
PR Newswire
FENTON, Mich., Aug. 17, 2015
FENTON, Mich., Aug. 17, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Drone Services USA, Inc. (The "Company") (OTC: DSUS) Files For Provisional Patent Protection of its Electro-Magnetic Payload Dropping System "ProDropper."
Drone Services USA, Inc. is pleased to announce it has applied for provisional patent protection with the USPTO for its electro-magnetic payload dropping system which the company has named ProDropper. Developed by DSUSA's Director of Research & Development, Euan Ramsay, the ProDropper operates as an electro-magnetic delivery system that utilizes specially designed plates and magnets to carry and deliver cargo. Unlike the latch system that poses a risk of snagging the cargo or catching, the ProDropper system is entirely latch free.
"We are very happy to announce that we have applied for this provisional patent for the ProDropper drone payload dropping system. Our UAV payload dropper is very unique therefore it is imperative we protect our proprietary design and all related components before being released. The snag free payload management system is configurable to manage multiple payloads in the same voyage if needed. This system allows for operation all year round, at night and in unfavorable conditions. It has no moving parts, does not snag or jam, and consumes very little power in operation. It can even offer autonomous operation, when used with compatible flight controllers. This is a first in the small UAS industry. Both the hardware and software have exclusive technology Drone Services USA has sole rights to. This is very exciting for the company and we believe for the industry, too," says CEO Joel Bredow.
ProDropper, designed to carry and deliver payloads of various weights and dimensions, is being manufactured in Texas and will be used as a supplemental device to DSUSA's ProCargoX drone and is available for purchase to the open market for use with other applications. The Company is slated to demonstrate the functionality of the ProDropper utilizing its ProCargoX unit as well as with other platforms to several companies and agencies in the forthcoming weeks.
Additionally, the company has applied for trademark protection for ProCargoX and ProDropper and has secured the domains www.procargox.com and www.prodropper.com.
