Hangdog, don't fool yourself. Scanbuy is a REAL company, and in many ways, has accomplished way more then NEOM---and with a lot less money.
What a partnership they'd make! Our IP with the many, many contracts that Scanbuy has put together. It would immediately make point and click a part of the main stream.
It would also make Scanbuy an immediate strong candidate for an IPO.
I WANT SCANBUY TO STAY STRONG AND TO JOIN WITH NEON!
My fear is the they will play around, getting more and more involved with the complexities of the legal system until they lose out on their premier position in this field. I hope their ego doesn't stop them from getting to the endline!
Regards,
Howard
PS: You've been on FIRE with your posts these last two or three weeks! I never miss one..Thanks!
h
I agree. The "selling" will come from Neustar with any assistance that they need from NEOM sales people. IMO this explains why NEOM doesn't need much of a staff to get the ball rolling.
If Neustar does their job it will be like them owning texting.
Howard
Thank you for that great breakdown of the Conference Call.
Many little things were included that I wasn't able to hear.
(After two years in a tank it's no wonder...)
THanks again,
Howard
This is really important. It looks like this is how NEOM is going to show their campaigns.
"TAKE A LOOK"
FROM fuego10
MUST READ! neoreader website now has latest "live 2d barcodes" meaning they just added links to their latest campaigns including tele.ring, mazda, nokia, dornbirn, volkswagen etc.......

Yeh, we really love a good, sweet, loving devils advocate---here on I-HUB to help us all see the light.
Many thanks, we couldn't have gotten here without you.
Howard
or...
you are spending the day in Doylestown, PA
You pick up a free map showing all of the restaurants, each has a code--you click and are offered a free drink with your dinner.
or...
You are watching TV and are offered a coupon for 20% Off of that sofa that you were interested in.
or...
you're sunning yourself on the beach. A giant blimp floats by with---you guessed it---a QR code on the side for $20 bucks in free chips for the local casino.
It's never ending. The time has come.

A question for: JP, lesnshawn , BC, Beam, bleedingedge Succccess, Hangdog, Streets, Clawmann, BE, SRM, Ziptied, and the rest of our gallant bunch of posters.
What are your expectations for the up-and-coming 10Q?
I've been in NEOM "forever" and this is probably the most important 10Q that will have been issued.
I expect it to show:
(1)some income from actual promotions;
(2)shed some light on the Neustar deal;
(3)talk about future financing and put to rest our fears about the end of May;
(4)give some idea or at least a hint or two about future partners, deals, etc.
(5) I EXPECT AT LEAST ONE BOMBSHELL BIT OF INFORMATION!
Usually, we don't want to get our hopes up about these filings but, on the other hand, we keep saying, "We're sure there's plenty going on in the background." This 10Q covers a short period AFTER the patent confirmation. IF we WERE getting things done in the background NOW is time to make some of that info public.
WHAT DO YOU THINK?
Regards,
Howard
JP, I'll relay your thanks to Neil.
h
Also, JP, when Neil went to the last hearing he had a chance to talk to SBs lawyer. Neil told him that he read the interview where your client said that he would consider licensing if it was reasonable. Their layer said, "That's the key---that it be reasonable. Neil said that their lawyer obviously had at least heard something about the possibility of licensing and was acting as nice as can be, whereas at the last hearing he seemed to be acting like SB was IN CHARGE.
Regards as always,
Howard
WHEW! I was suffering from "Claw Withdrawal"
I-HUB-EPEDIA: CLAW WITHDRAWAL-the fear of asking a legal question and hearing (in the far distance) an echo that says, "Send a $2500 retainer and I'll have my staff begin the research."
Seriously, Clawmann, we didn't know which way to turn.
CONGRATULATIONS! I'm happy that your wife and new daughter are safe and well.
Regards,
Howard
I think that ALL of NEOM's "business" will have to go through Neustar. All of the licenses for NEOM's IP will be signed with Neustar. I think that we'll find that all of this is explained in the Neustar-NEOM contract. It's the only way that it makes sense for Neustar to spend the money to set up the infrastructure that is needed to use NEON's IP.
IMO Neustar would not allow there to be other NEOM IP users that operate on their own. I think that soon we'll see a PR from Neustar talking about signed licenses. I'm not sure if these "signings" PRs will ever come from NEOM.
NeilPearl, just as long as the signing process gets started, I don't care how the process works. We'll all know during the next few weeks how everything will work. IMO, it will be a lot easier for Neustar to sell the point & click then NEOM.
Regards,
Howard
IMO he'll either be the coordinating link between the two companies or he'll be gone.
Regards,
Howard
I don't see NEOM as a mobile marketing company. I see Neustar as the mobile marketing company using NEOM's IP. It should be like having the patents on texting.
No one company owns texting, but if one did, and the infrstructure was run through a company like Neustar, and you got paid everytime someone texts a message--you can imagine the bucks that would roll in.
Well, NEOM's point and click, is EXACTLY like texting. It's viral and once it gets rolling---"Katie, bar the doors!"
The sales will come from the mobile advertising companies and the giant retail companies themselves.
NEOM will only need a small crew to count the money and make sure that Neustar does its job.
Howard
I noticed that the two cases weren't brought together in the same court until last Friday. Maybe now that they're together they can work out a settlement under one judge.
H
They are REALLY busy!?
h
Where are you seeing these quotes. I'm seeing .195
Howard
I knew what you meant.
Good night.
Howard
I didn't consider your humor funny. I really don't appreciate "humor" aimed at any specific "total" nationality.
Aside from that, IMO it will definitely be a positive when we are able to finance WITHOUT dilution. IMO, even a deal with YA that did not involve the issuance of shares would be a PLUS.
Howard
Beam, you are so damn bright. I love your posts.
I agree, it's the 2 Scanbuy lawsuits that need to be taken care of. I'd like to see Scanbuy and NEOM get together, work out a fair and reasonable licensing deal and start working together instead of fighting.
Look at all that Scanbuy has been able to accomplish. With Scanbuy as one of Neustars lead licensees it would really jumpstart the whole process.
What do you think will happen with Scanbuy?
Regards,
Howard
ziptied, I just gave you a "people mark." You only got to I-HUB a few weeks ago but you really do your homework and your DEEP DD is really appreciated.
A question: Did you find NEOM through your field of work or did you find NEOM by accident and then say, "WOW, they're doing stuff that I know about?"
Regards and thanks again,
Howard
Ziptied, great answer, now I even understand the P & F function.
Why would the P & F Team come up with an answer that is obviously incorrect?
Howard
Actually, it's just the other way around. Until Scanbuy, a year or so ago, NEOM had settled each case as it came along under very acceptable terms to the defendent. I believe that Scanbuy will also be settled in an agreeable manner for both parties.
Certainly, you will agree that if you own a patentable intellectual property that you either developed or purchased, you should have the right to charge other entities for using your IP. If this RIGHT didn't exist, what drug company would spend the millions to develope life saving treatments.
It is NEOM's goal to be friends with everyone and to share their lawful, protected IP with the world, only collecting a small fee for using their "bridge." Without IP's being protected what company would have developed the airplane, telephone, or PC?
Protecting ideas creates the main thrust to engender inovation.
Regards,
Howard
Neom2006, I can't understand how someone like yourself, who has been here for 3 years, can be so worried that NEOM is going to run out of money. During those 3 years this exact same thing happened a hundred times---I checked your past posts and you weren't so pessimistic then.
...and that was before our patents were approved...before Neustar...before Nokia, etc. etc.
So, what would cause you to be more pessimistic NOW then before? It can only be one thing---you sold your shares before the patents were approved.
Am I right?
Neom2006, join the party. If you're OUT---get back IN. This is going to be a fun ride and you've already missed 2000% of it.
Regards,
Howard
Fuego, you don't have to worry. Success practically sleeps with Pacer in bed with her. When anything happens---WE KNOW IT!
I enjoy your posts. We appreciate your help!
Howard
SRM, didn't you see that full page apology from Brewskih, PP, and the EFF. It actually brought a tear to my eye seeing how honorable all three turned out to be.
...yyyaaaahhhhhh....
h
Neil, this is the same story that we discussed before. Different bloggers, writers, editors, publications use different headlines with the same story. They also edit the actual story sometimes to shorten it for their space.
Regards,
Howard
Old, but worth the reread.
Thanks,
Howard
JetTrader,
Neom went from .001 to .04 in about two months. That's a move to the upside of around 4000%---4 THOUSAND %! It looks to me that it has to build a new foundation in the .015 to .025 area before it's ready to steam ahead once more. I guess right now we're in the NEWS---move up! NO NEWS---SIMMER DOWN!
Area. What we hope to see is more SOLID NEWS to bring us up further then we simmer down. So far that's exactly what's happening.
Next move---IMO, that's .04 PLUS! (Simmer back to .03 and then move from that base.
Regards,
Howard
PS: Please read the amazingly knowledgeable posters here at I-HUB. They'll let you know what has happened and what IS happening.

I Googled:
companies offering 2D barcode readers
This is the FIRST response:
mobiledigit.com: Mobile MarketingAdvantages of Data Matrix · Definition of 1d code · Definition of 2d code .... Neomedia's Mobile Barcode is the fastest way to board the plane in spain ... 2007 Gavitec AG - mobile digit, A NeoMedia Technologies company. ...

I imagine that livefree_ordie must have edited his post to get rid of Neomedia. NTBT
Howard
I DISAGREE 100%!! NEOM should NOT get involved with the MMs, the SEC, or any other regulatory agency.
NEOM has way more to do then to worry about how the MMs are playing with their stock---IF it is being played with. This looks like normal, everyday price action in BB stocks.
You are so easily guided by TP. He crys...YOU CRY. Before he started his EVERYDAY, EVERY HOUR, EVERY MINUTE tirades I never heard anyone crying about MM manipulation. It's amazing that you can't see TP for what he's attempting to do.
This stock basically went from 0 to 4 in two months---4000%!
Now it has backed up half way--perfectly normal AND VERY HEALTHY!
When there is news to tell--we'll hear it and the PPS will rise. That's the way it works.
Howard
Les, good, honest, clear post. I absolutely believe that is what happened, not only to you, but to a lot of us. It has been a long hard few years with wives wailing, family wailing, friends wailing but after all of this time the tide has turned.
Best of luck to you and to the rest of the stockholders here on the board.
Howard
Or some other month. It will happen, that's the important thing.
h
Neil, you are 100% mistaken. Your 2nd PR uses the exact same words as the first, just moved around a little.
If it makes you happy to think that the second PR is a comment on the new campaign (after 2 days) then so be it.
These words--EXACTLY are in BOTH PR's.
Due to the strong response rates and opt-in interest, Nokia will be incorporating more campaigns with 2D codes in Central Europe. We are currently running a campaign in Switzerland featuring 2D codes to promote the Nokia Music Device 5800 via the Mobilezone®, a major catalogue retailer,“ said Harald WinkelhofeJust a coincidence.
Regards,
Howard
Have a good weekend.
Call me when you get the answers.
h
I think the second email is just a rehash of the first email. Good but not new. Posters are beginning to look for things that are not there. Reread it more carefully, Neil, and you'll see that it is NOT NEW NEWS.
The credibility of the information here at I-HUB will suffer if viewers can't count on the accuracy of our postings.
It's like the poster who yells every day at 3PM--THERE THEY GOOOOO! After the 10th time that he did that I began to skip his posts.
Neil, honestly, didn't it seem a little strange that they would announce a promotion and then comment on its success TWO DAYS LATER!!??
Howard
Understand my position: Nobody is a more devout proponent of NEOM but I want facts to be facts.
If you are going to tell us that an article in german says:
"the conclusion is if MS wants to get the pole position they have to go away from their own concept and take Neomedia the patent-leader" (my quotation marks)
then it should say that! The article does NOT mention NEOM and does NOT call NEOM the patent leader. (The aricle was written in January before the patent decision.)

The Microsoft Barcode - An old acquaintance with a new coat
On the occasion of the world's largest trade fair for consumer technology, CES in Las Vegas, presents software giant Microsoft with the tag HCCB its own barcode.
Already, the many blogs already intensely debated question: Why still a proprietary 2D barcode?
Firstly, it should be noted that the HCCB (High Capacity Color Barcode) is not the "Newcomer of the Year", but an old friend with new paint that Microsoft now after nearly 2 years out of the drawer has brought.
In August 2007 we reported about him.
Then there are the HCCB not, as often described, a conventional 2D bar code, but he is one of the world's first representatives of the so-called 3-D barcodes.
This barcode generation represents the color of the third dimension, by a further compression information, thus greatly save space (see illustration above). In addition, almost all the modules is not squares, but triangles.
In comparison to previous years, Microsoft seems the theme of "own barcode" significantly conscientious manner.
Shall be limited to the free Reader software are no longer just a few devices, but it is for the mobile device OS Windows Mobile, Symbian, J2ME, BlackBerry, and (hard to believe) for the "competing product" iPhone available.
Furthermore, apparently also from Microsoft's end of the barcode changed. If the HCCB originally primarily as a complement to conventional bar code, tamper-proof seal when the authenticity of Microsoft products to ensure it can be on the "Microsoft day since" but now a clear orientation towards the Mobile Tagging and thus to recognize Physical World Connection.
The potential of this technology is the American software giant is not entgegangen, as past experiments, possibly in conjunction with Windows Surface, show.
Nevertheless, it remains questionable whether Microsoft, with its usual proprietary course this time the foot in the door will receive.
While the HCCB and the Reader software is without question a high quality solution, which compared the benefits of open standards (especially in terms of code size) can have.
Yet it does not solve the really relevant issues that the Mobile Tagging for many years on erhoften breakthrough prevent the mass fitness.
For an international, far-reaching success is the continuation of the standardization process with an open solution needed.
The plan in this future market monopoly through proprietary solutions to build, other companies had already buried early.
Perhaps it is with the new proposed course ingericht merely a fit of pique on the strategy of the arch-rivals Google, with his yes ZXing Reader on open standards, QR Code and Data Matrix sets. So far, the code only in the United States encountered.
We are curious as to what we in this new year 2009 brings!
Those who create such HCCB codes, you should be on those pages around. Registration is required for this, however.
Did you translate the article literally or as you would like it to be?

Good thinking. I wonder id Neustar will want companies using the IP thenselves---possibly competing with Neustar.
h
It was only yesterday that they announced the licensing program was open. I believe that they had to wait until Nuestar was able to handle the whole thing.
I think that companies will be licensing NEOMS IP through Nuestar. They'll be signing with Nuestar.
Now the door is open.
Howard
Be careful...the ground is more dangerous then the air.
