Funny, I've got an ad for FUBO Live TV just to the right of my messages screen on IHUB because of course it's gathered my seaech results. If nothing else, gotta give it to them on the sports channels.
Not bad. Not bad at all.
Ok, I tried to feel my way through that a little bit. lol. But I think maybe I shouldn't have said hdw2620 is set up. But I think you were also saying that the subscription numbers are a lot higher than 400? Correct me if I'm wrong. Thanks
They have pretty much have all the channels I need. I guess I don't need too much in the way of channels. But the one I'm kinda surprised they don't offer is WGN out of Chicago.
It's too funny just thinking about how huge Blockbuster and Hollywood Video were. And if you didn't rewind those tapes, they would kill you with all those fees. Wow how we've moved on.
Cool Beans. That will more than likely be the way to go.
Anyone know if a universal remote could possibly work on the Viva set top box.
rhainswo, madrabbit said yes, he did get the boxes, and he is set up now. But he was affected by Hurricane Irma. So I'll repeat madeabbit's comment to me, and hopefully hdw2620 will be back up next week. No word one sub numbers though.
No joke Jtech. That is one hell of an effort by whoever put out all the Viva Live info. Bravo!!!
Thanks madrabbit, so glad to hear that. Kinda had a feeling he was impacted in some way by Irma. I'll send another prayer his way soon. Can't hurt.
Anyone know how hdw2620 is doing. Don't think I've heard from him since Irma. Hoping everything is ok.
Exactly Daguvanuh, that's why I found the article amusing. I read the comments on Slings Facebook page yesterday, and not a lot of happy campers right now. But it seems as if they are trying.
Haha.

Sling TV has new extended trial and free TV antenna promotions
Brittany A. Roston
Sling TV, the over-the-Internet live television service from Dish Network, has announced a pair of new promotions that hope to lure in new subscribers. One of those promotions, which offers a free OTA TV antenna and an AirTV device, is already live; the other, which gives users a free month of service, goes live tomorrow (and tomorrow only).
First things first: Sling TV will make an extended free trial (30 days vs 7 days) available to new subscribers starting tomorrow, September 16. This trial is being launched in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, and it is available to anyone who subscribes to the ‘Best of Spanish TV’ option with their plan (or any of the regional packages, says Sling).
If you already know you’re going to be sticking with Sling TV for a while, though, it is worth looking into one of the company’s three new promotions: a free indoor TV antenna and two bundles with AirTV Player at a greatly reduced rate. This is on top of Sling’s ordinary free Roku streaming stick offer. The AirTV Player blends live OTA channels in with Sling’s streaming channels.
The free indoor TV antenna is being given to new customers who prepay for two months of Sling TV upfront. Customers who prepay for three months can get the AirTV Player and adapter for $70, which is discounted from the usual $129.99 USD rate, and a free TV antenna. Prepaying two months can also get you just the AirTV Player and adapter for $50.

That's awesome JM. I guess it proves sometimes we just need the basics in life to in order to be happy.
Awesome JM!!
jmmattews67, forgive me if I've got you crossed with another poster, but you really weren't kidding when you said you don't watch much tv were you. Pretty cool though
I commented earlier this morning that with N.Y. having 8.6 million people, I think that's the right way to go being that currently all 4 of major networks on Viva Live are N.Y. affiliates. Way back in the day, Direct Tv didn't offer local channels to the masses. Only N.Y, and Los Angeles. But I was also thinking that they should start adding local channels by major markets. So of course, LA would be next, then I think Chicago, and so on. Now tell me if I'm wrong. If they don't do that, fine, just load the current movies, and the DVR, and I really think the subscriptions will easily take care of themselves. Getting Viva on Visio tv's maybe big, but should they really head in this direction now. Unless they just aren't telling us, we are currently on Amazon, and ROKU, and it doesn't seem as if the sub numbers have jumped significantly. Movies, DVR, tons of channels at a great price, that's what everyone wants. At the moment they are kicking everybody's azz in the channel department. Movies, DVR and they have more than covered their bases. But starting in those major markets, even without sports channels, they're still covered. N.Y:Yankees/Knicks, LA:Dodgers/Lakers, Chicago:Bears/Cubs, etc....until they trickle down, even if it's a year or so down the road. Couldn't agree with you more on more in input. It would've been nice if there were some hints and little teasers as to the movies that were going to start loading also. Tell use about the ability to pause and rewind live TV. These are the type of questions on Viva's Facebook page from customers asking about features such as that. And one last thing, someone mentioned that JF may not be doing all the tweeting on Viva's site, that's fine, but that begs the question, then why haven't they assigned someone to do just that. Anyway, once again, I've yapped too way long. Maybe I'm putting too much into this.
Luv2gigl, even with numbers u just gave for Viva's service without Viva splitting up HBO, SHOWTIME, AND CINEMAX, Viva is still way cheaper than my friggin Direct Tv and AT&T internet bundle. But trust me if enough customers demand that they split those premium channels up, to have a real a la carte feel, eventually they will do it. I personally think it's an awesome price for all 3. Now those communicating skills could use some work.
Yes it will. I'll shut my pie hole and just enjoy the ride.
My only thing is so many people are speculating. They are trying to push it up to their retirement/quit my job pps. When truly ground breaking news comes out, and it start to take off, I'm cool with the trips to Vegas and so on. But we're just hanging onto .0020 at the moment. When we get to .05, and hold it for a minute, we should be golden. That big news may not come for months. I'm not selling mind you, and will be one happy camper when the news comes out.
I think it's going to take some news that investors can really sink their teeth into, if not that, those subscription numbers will have to start increasing beyond 400.
With a population of 8.6 million, NY couldn't be more perfect being that all 4 major networks are N.Y. affiliates. Couple that with N.Y's large Spanish speaking population, I would be shocked if they are not at 100,000 subs in the next few months. And as I discussed with acampors a while ago, with all the N.Y. sports teams airing, the only people wanting for sports will be transplants from other states who can't follow their teams. This should be have a nice launch soon.
Exacatamundo madrabbit. I personally think there is plenty of space for a number of providers in the OTT segment that cater to those of us who speak English, but being that I don't speak Spanish, and I don't have friends or family that speak it either, it would be interesting to see if anyone is really pushing to really grab the Latino OTT market. So if there if you have Viva and another OTT service providers who become the Netflix, and HULU of the Latino market that would be huge too. And JF and J Sepulveda aren't shy about there connections with extremely well known Latin celebraties. If this things get just a little bit of traction, and lots of positive feed back from Latino customers about great service, major celebrity endorsements can't be far behind
Gotcha. madrabbit, that makes sense.
That is exactly why I sent them the tweet that T-Mobile was blasting across Viva's site. Maybe someone with in depth knowledge of internet regs can say give more insight. But I think T-Mobile can until Viva blocks them. Not sure.
Same here. Not selling. I'm down too, but it doesn't feel as painful, due to the fact that I don't have mega shares in 5/10/15 million range.
I try not to buy into competitors shorting this stock. But with that T-Mobile/Netflix ad currently running on Viva's Twitter site, there may be something there. Hummmmm
Just shot a tweet to Viva's Twitter site. Not really sure if it's an official T-Mobile tweet. But there's an ad for T-Mobile Netflix on Viva's Twitter site. Kinda cringed for a split second. But in a way that says a lot if they are coming after a company that is as small as Viva Live in its current state trading below a quarter penny. Oh well.
So true acampors, we don't need the Sling type review out there to the masses being that we are just getting started. Everyone should just cool their jets for a moment and let everything get in place, being that we are so very close to having everything completed.
Well, if nothing else, they are keeping their promise toward their Latin constituents. There are now more Latino/Spanish channels that have been added. My guess is for the concert goers tonight. I could be wrong.
Wow madrabbit, those are some absolutely horrible reviews for Sling!!!. I thought just maybe those were old reviews, but this is all recent, like just a few days ago!!! So as much as I would love to see Viva out there, it just reinforces the importance of them getting it right. I said earlier today that Viva should probably step on it or risk getting left behind. Looking at those horrible reviews, this is when I know I have to say to myself that I need to pump my brakes and just be happy as they put all their ducks in a row first. If they do that Viva will be just fine.

56.6 Million U.S. consumers to go without pay TV this year, as cord cutting accelerates
Sarah Perez
TechCrunchSeptember 13, 2017
Bad news for traditional pay TV: cord cutting is accelerating at a pace faster than previously estimated. According to a new industry report from eMarketer, there will be 22.2 million cord cutters ages 18 and older this year - a figure that's up 33.2 percent over 2016. The firm said it's had to revise its forecast as the pace of cord cutting has increased. Previously, it believed there would only be 15.4 million cord cutters in the U.S.
In addition, the so-called "cord-nevers" - meaning those consumers who never choose to subscribe to traditional cable or satellite TV in the first place - is growing, too. While the pace of that growth is slower - a more modest 5.8 percent this year - the total number of cord-nevers is higher. eMarketer says there will be 34.4 million U.S. adult cord-nevers in 2017.
When you combine the cord cutters and cord-nevers, there will be 56.6 million U.S. non-pay TV viewers this year.
By 2021, eMarketer says the number of cord cutters will nearly equal the number of cord-nevers with 40.1 million for the former, and 41 million for the latter.
The firm attributes its revised forecast, in part, to the growing list of live streaming and over-the-top platforms that are now available.
In addition to existing players like Sling TV and PlayStation Vue, in under a year's time we've seen new entrants in the live TV streaming space like AT&T's DirecTV Now, which arrived late last year; YouTube TV, which launched in April; and Hulu Live TV, which arrived in May. There's also a growing number of sports streaming services, including fuboTV and Stadium. Meanwhile, major companies have announced similar plans to enter the live streaming space, including CBS Sports and ESPN.

Haha. I hear you.
Yep. Just finished reading an article on Yahoo about the explosive growth in cord cutting. Estimates had it at 15.4 million cutting the cord this year, but that number has jumped to 22.2 million. So I couldn't agree with you more Big Daddy, they may really want to get it the ball rolling if they can. This is a perfect opportunity to solidify their base. NOW!!! Makes no difference if it's U.S. base or Latino base. If they don't put this thing in gear, someone will get the jump on the Hispanic market too. And the where will that leave them.
He's getting smarter. He's no longer giving an exact dates. Just that they are doing a PR. People can hold it against him if he says tomorrow or next week. He's just belly rubbing in an attempt to quell all the pinned up angst he is getting from those investors on twiiter. Sometimes I feel for him. Sometimes.
Haha. Didn't think about it that way LenaTrade. Other than us IHubers, that's their biggest haul so far. Give that man (or woman) a raise. Hey, I'll take it though.
Another official VIVA tweet. The owner of the 40 apartment RBNB is signing up tomorrow.
Those shirts. CAN U HEAR ME NOW? Hehehe, Haha. But real talk. Who's supposed to wear them. Are they really for sale, or are they asking us for our ideas?
One of the best post I've read in a long time. Sometimes some of the best post aren't in depth DD'S, but post like this, thanks a bunch!!
With firestick ready, that's great!!!. They're checking off that to do list one by one. If the movies come next week that would be great, and the DVR the following week that would be great too. Still in baby step stage it seems.
