You know, OneBgg, while we were taking a little break this afternoon, we started talking about all these trades and player pickups this summer. What we see now may not be what we see come January. After camp starts and coaches and GM's see what they have, I'm sure many more trades will happen. This all happened so fast because teams didn't want to be left out, that after seeing how the new players fit in, there may be some that end up elsewhere. I do like the way Paul Allen has laid down the law and is getting good quality people into the organization. I am really glad they hired Jerome because that is where he belongs, having played there so long. Plus he has experienced what it takes to win an NBA Championship so he should really be able to help the Blazers.

One thing about it, Omni, we wouldn't make very good politicians by using one word statements. Heck, maybe you could go to Washington DC and teach them how to do what you've taught us. All them folks ever do anyway is just talk. They never say anything but, they sure do talk a lot. <g>
Colt
"Tomorrow when the lights are all back on again people will go back to giving each other the finger and honking their horns but today for a little while....people were decent. New Yorkers are not always as nasty as some may think!!"
I thought people only did that down here in Texas. I am shocked that New Yonkers also shoot the finger. LOL
Colt
Good post, Ksquared. When I came in and saw what was happening up in the New York city and the Northeast, it made me think how glad I am to be living down here in the wide open spaces. I would go bonkers if I got stuck in an elevator. I don't know how all those people up there can work in those 70 and 80 story buildings. Especially after 911. I'd do like you, live in the Hills of New Jersey and only visit NY city. I'd find myself a ground based job with sky in every direction for as far as the human eye can see.
Colt
Yep, OneBgg! e/
Good point, Greg...Yes, Ksquared, don't forget to wash your hands when through, even if you wear gloves. Just the tinest smidgen of the poison in your eye can burn so bad you feel like pulling your eyeball out. You should, if you don't already, get a pair of eye protectors. If you get the ones with Lexan (Polycarbonate)lenses ($4-7' @ Home Depot), you can also use them when you start target shooting. It will say "Exceeds ANI Z87.1 Industrial Standards. The slightest little breeze can blow back a bunch of the chemical. I've had it happen and was glad I had the hose nearby to flush my eyes out. I think most of the chemicals seeped into my brain, thus the reason that I yam the way I yam, i.e., crazy! <g>
Colt
Yep, Greg...gotta agree with you. When the rain is needed, the scopes need to take a back seat. Sorry to hear about those fires earlier this summer BUT, glad to hear things are better.
Colt
Ksquared, you ol' Texan......
You posted, "A RELATIVELY RARE OCCURRENCE FOR THIS AUGUST WILL TAKE PLACE TODAY... BRIGHT BLUE SKIES WILL COVER THE MIDDLE ATLANTIC AREA AND THAT BIG ROUND YELLOW BALL IN THE SKY WILL ACTUALLY BE THE SUN. THE ABUNDANT SUNSHINE WILL DRIVE TEMPERATURES TO AROUND 90 DEGREES OR SLIGHTLY HIGHER ... EXCEPT ALONG THE IMMEDIATE COAST AND IN THE POCONOS WHERE READINGS WILL BE A FEW DEGREES LOWER.
A SECOND DAY OF SUN AND HEAT WILL OCCUR FRIDAY... AND TEMPERATURES MAY ACTUALLY BE A DEGREE OR TWO HIGHER THAN TODAY IN SOME LOCATIONS.
HEAT INDICES BOTH TODAY AND FRIDAY WILL RISE WELL INTO THE 90S IN MOST AREAS."
WELCOME To Tejas, you CLOSET Texan...! :>)
Colt
Ksquared...
Down in these here parts most of the trees are Live Oaks scattered out all over the place and Cottonwoods along creeks and rivers. The Live Oaks worst enemy is Oak Wilt.
Folks in the cities also plant Arizona Ash because it grows huge in a hurry providing lots of shade. The AA's are notorious for Web Worms. Not sure about Tent Worms though. Maybe by another name I do but, not as TW's. I would stay away from the burning unless you are familiar with that process. You could get a can or two of Raid Wasp spray that shoots out 20'-30' or if you can get to the limb and cut that portion off without killing yourself and/or damaging the tree, then put it in a black trash bag and spray any insecticide in there making sure you saturate the little devils and seal up real tight. That is about the cheapest and simplest way of taking care of the pests.

Or, you could call TH over and let him do a little Target Practice with his .416 Rem. Mag. Just tell him you have a Giant Bull Elephant up in the tree. That should take care of things and also give you and TH a few nights free Room & Board in the local jail...LOL
Colt
Just think, Omni. When we all die and go to that great basketball board in the sky, our eulogies will read, Here Lies Colt, OneBgg, and M-M. They learned that great art of one word responses from that Great, Three Screen, One Word, Guru, Omni! Omni was the Greatest One Word poster in the History of the Internet. Books will be written about you and movies will be made depicting your One Word Greatness! <GGG>
Colt, in awe of my One Word Guru...
Ahhh, that was two words...don't let us down now, Omni. LOL Afterall M-M, OneBgg, and myself have learned this stealth way of posting from you, our One Word Guru! LOLOL
Colt
LOL, I bet there isn't another board on the internet that has posters who can make a point in one word, like this board can. LOL
Colt
It was lightening and thundering like crazy and you are right, I shouldn't have been at the pc. I have both a Battery Backup and a Commercial Surge Protector, but this time everything went blank in a split second.
Colt
That would be a good trade at this point, IMHO...! e/
Yep!
Yep!
I figure by then I will have enjoyed the $2Mill$ to the fullest and I'd be old and senile and wouldn't be able to remember a damn thing, especially a $2Mill$ loan. <g>
Colt
Yeah but, it ain't if you have a Taco Bell nearby. If you are within 100 miles of a Taco Bell, then you're a City Slicker...LOL
Colt
LOL, Yep!
OneBgg, if you guys get Kmart and Motumbo, that would put you guys right back in the hunt. And NJ could fit Sheed in very well, especially with his outside and 3 pt. shooting. That would open up their half court game. And you guys having the young guys like Patterson and Kmart would be strong for years to come. And don't forget Outlaw, who everyone is expecting big things once he gets the hang of the NBA game. I think overall it would be a perfect trade for you guys. I hope it goes through for you. That would be a hell of a front court, rivaling the Spurs and Lakers.
Colt
Man you guys must be talking politics with this many posts since I lost power. A lot of catching up to do.
Colt
Damn is the right word, OneBgg. Us mere mortal humans would be dead before we even got to enjoy our Noon'er. LOL
Colt
OneBgg, it sounded like all of us guys firing .460 Weatherby Magnums at the same time without ear protection. It was loud.
Colt
M-M, Greg's scope is better for viewing Mars than mine is. Even though mine is a 17.5" and his is a 10", his is f/10 and mine is f/4.5. Actually a top quality 6" refractor @ f/10 or f/12 is the best of all.
Colt
Yep, memories.ksquared...I'd say it sure does, assuming one has the right partner. A bad partner usually equates to pure hell. :>)
Colt
Yes achy.breaky.ksquared, but, you can ride mine......mower that is. <g> I do know what you mean about cutting wet grass. It can be a bummer. Yes, going back over it in a perpendicular direction will help smooth it out as will going back over in the opposite direction.
Since when did a full body massage equate to just the neck and shoulders? LOL
Strong hands and fingers, Colt
And OneBgg, let's not forget the good ol' Midnighter. So Officially we have:
1)The Very Early Morning'er
2)The Morning'er
3)The Mid-Morning'er
4)The Late Morning'er
5)The Pre-Nooner
6)The Nooner
7)The Early Afternoon'er
8)The Afternoon'er
9)The Late Afternoon'er
10)The Early Evening'er
11)The Evening'er
12)The Late Evening'er
13)The Early Night'er
14)The Night'er
15)The Late Night'er
16)The Pre-Midnight'er
17)The Midnight'er
18)The Post Midnight'er
19)The Inbetween'er Midnight'er and Early Morning'er
And, Last BUT, NOT Least...
20)The Anytim'er You Want'Her
Dang I'm worn out already...just how in the hell can a Mountain Lion do it 78 times a day??????? That totally blows my mind. All I can say is the Male Mountain Lion is a Better Man than I am. HARRRRR!!!
Colt, striving to become a Male Mountain Lion!
Got our power back on. Lightening struck something up the road. Sounded like what a hydrogen bomb must sound like.
Colt
OneBgg, I'm hearing down here that Portland and NJ are going at it behind the scenes on a blockbuster trade involving Sheed for Kmart and Motumbo. It should be interesting to see what happens between now and opening night.
Colt
Yep! LOL e/
Evenin' Ksquared. Forget about wading through the posts...just head down this way and I'll let you mow my grass as well. :>)
Colt
Yep, OneBgg, this is the board for Morning and Evening 'Quickies' as well as the old standby, 'The Nooner'! HARRRRR!!!
Colt
LOL,remember, always leave em wanting more! HARR! e/
We don't need the militant types, for sure. You and I won't see it in our lifetime, but at some point our government needs to stop buying a million mouse traps for $200/ea. or 250,000 commode seats for $1,000.00 each and take those savings and start hiring more BP's and pay them a lot more than they make today. Our borders are a very serious problem that needs to get fixed asap.
I may get cut off from my computer as it is thundering and lightening like crazy. Not raining hard........yet!
Colt
LOL, yep!!! e/
Jerome Kersey named Portland's Director of Player Programs
August 13, 2003
PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Former Trail Blazer Jerome Kersey has been hired by his former team as Director of Player Programs, a newly created position to develop young players and provide support on and off the court.
Kersey's position was outlined in the team's recent 25-point pledge to fans, which was designed to address problems that have plagued the franchise over the past season.
Kersey, a 17-year NBA veteran, played 11 years with the Trail Blazers. He ranks second on the team's all-time list with 831 games and 5,078 rebounds. He ranks third with 621 blocked shots and 1,059 steals.
After his retirement in 2001, Kersey worked in the mortgage industry in Portland. He recently served as an assistant coach for the Blazers' summer league team.
``He is the perfect individual to guide our young players, helping them understand what it means to live and work in Portland and what is expected of them as a Trail Blazer,'' said Portland general manager John Nash.
The Blazers also named two new assistant coaches: John Loyer, who has been an advance scout for the team for the past two seasons; and Bernard Smith, Portland's video coordinator for the last two years.

Is that a polite way of saying NO to the $2Mil$ ? LOL
Colt
Yeah, but you never know when she'll come out there to rub your neck. I bet you are quicker at clicking on the 'x' button to close the porn movie down than a South Texas Rattler is at striking a Quail hunter's hand reaching for a downed bird. LOL
Colt
It's going good. It'll go better once OneBgg, floats me that $2Mil$ loan. LOL
Colt
I'm doing just yep! <g> e/
