I didn't bite THOSE ya nut! The ones I bit into looked great!
It may be completely harmless...if you don't count throwing the dog and your cell phone to the ground as you scream and run in place.
Thanks for the info...I really do try to live in peace with things...even creepy things.
Sooooo....a fellow Falling Skies fan...do you think Tom has more alien 'things' in his head or is he ok?
LOL I know! You ready for this heat we're about to get Gail? I'll be in front of the A/C or at my cousins house in the pool.
Holy cow Flo! That's some scary stuff going on...is where you live anywhere near the fires?
Yum!
"I start picking and putting them in new lunch-bags"
I think I might start doing that. I had read somewhere that they're sweeter and more flavorful if you let them ripen on the vine?!?
Happy early Birthday TTT (I know I probably won't be anywhere near a computer on Saturday...unless it's waterproof) LOL
I'm late but HAPPY BIRTHDAY FLOB
Yep...2 cukes and the cantaloupe are in the buckets as well as 3 peppers. I WAS going to do the self watering ones...but didn't have everything I needed when I started so just did my own 'Debbie' version LOL
The PVC connectors really made a difference in the weight.
Good luck with Lois and the visit/assessment.
LOL They get nice and black...we like them that way too.
My peppers are taking their sweet time. I have a decent sized Gypsy but everyone else is just kinda hanging out (on?) LOL
We're getting cooked this week too...they've said the actual heat could be 100° to 102° and the index could get as high as 110°
I'll either be in front of the fan or in the pool.
Check out my maters...between you and Janice and our other resident gardeners I'm sure someone knows what this is??

Very nice Janice!! Here's my poor tomatoes...one Roma and one Big Beef. Both are the only ones (so far) on the plants that have bottoms like this. However I picked off a nice looking Roma and it was pure mush inside. It had no marks on it and felt firm...but I bit into it and it was just disgusting. I haven't cut up or bit into a Big Beef yet...none of them are even remotely turning red...so I have no idea f they're going to be mush too or what?!?!?
What am I doing wrong?
Here's my Roma...
And here's the Big Beef...
I'll have a few pics in a minute of my rotten tomatoes
The cuke ended up being 9 inches long. It's still in the fridge.
Morning KC and all...been busy (doing nothing) for the last few days. Had some company on Monday that showed up at noon and didn't leave until almost 9 that night. It was a nice visit but it threw my whole week off.
We're about to have heat index of 110° tomorrow and maybe Saturday.
I'm NOT ready for that!
OK here you go Mr. Bugman (Hello Gail...sorry for the intrusion...they wouldn't open in a PM and I want to know what they are hehehe!)
Again...thanks for your time.
This is the little guy that kept landing on my keyboard light...
And this is what I thought looked like a baby dragonfly...
Now I have to go...Falling Skies is on!!
Have a great night all!
Deb
It was ok yesterday but it got REALLY hot and humid this afternoon...we got a little thunderstorm this evening and it seems a little better out there. Haven't been out really...just opened the door to let the pups out.
Oh no I didn't realize it was 9 oclock...my show is on!!
Have a nice night everyone see you all tomorrow!
That does make more sense.
I cut my 2 little Romas this morning. One is about half the size I was expecting and the other is just a little bigger than a cherry tomato...I'm not sure if it's something I'm doing or because I planted them so early or...?!? My big beefs aren't living up to their name either.
But look at that puny little cuke from the other day...it filled out kinda nice...
There's a few more puny ones on there now...but I don't think I'm going to get a crop like I did last year. It's still early though I guess. I see what may turn out to be 6 or 7 cantaloupes....I can't WAIT for those!
It's not humid here anymore (maybe a touch) but it's still kinda hot. Next week is supposed to be GREAT! Low humidity and mid to upper 80's.
I have to hit the hay...we were in the pool all day and I'm pooped!!
Have a nice night Janice
LOL!
Mine has 3 burners inside and the side burner.
They do look at you...very cool bugs. That very interesting about bees.
I'll cut it in the morning then. It didn't get very big either. When you pick yours do you cut them with something or just pick them?
What do the Cherokees taste like? I like sweet maters...too much acid and I have to get the stomach pills out.
I do like those. I don't like them ON me...but I don't run when they're near me. Well not for a few minutes anyway LOL
I'll have to get some of those bricks. And no sir....I can't turn that stupid thing off fast enough LOL The SECOND the food is done I shut it off. Sometimes I'm eben holding the plate of food while reaching under the grill to turn the tank off.
Our grill has a side burner too...it's pretty big. Not HUGE but pretty big. With a top warming rack (that I use to cook hot dogs on) that swivels in and out when you open the top.
Awwww. That's a shame about the pepper
We got a few storms last night. Not a lot of rain but lots of wind and thunder and lightning. I've been watering daily.
My first Roma tomato is almost red enough to pick...but it's starting to feel mushy...not firm like it has been. What am I doing wrong?
Also...my big beefs are still little but starting to turn yellow/orange already....what's with them??
I found out he was a painted leaf hopper. He was a really interesting bug.
Oh I'm looking forward to the cooler...just not the severe storms. We really need the rain.
Where was a red and blue one? I scrolled down a ways and didn't see one. But it wasn't that kind of light. It wasn't the steady fade on and off like a lightning bug at all. It was more like sparks...like he was scraping his back legs together and creating sparks.
Strangest thing I've ever seen. I need to make some dinner but I'm going to figure out how to post a video so you can see what I mean.
I emailed the video to KC...he and Orin saw it maybe one of them can explain it better. And I've asked the bug guy from Gail's board...hopefully he can figure it out.
Have a good one....talk to you guys later!!
We've had those fires too. But those were 'normal' fires and sort of expected because I was lazy.
The one that scared me was when the gas gage wasn't tight enough and the propane was leaking out....THAT was scary.
Now they're saying tomorrow for us too. Not looking forward to it.
Nope not a lightning bug. How do I put videos on here?
They just said with the heat index it feels 105°
My phone app says 98° tv says 101°. It's hard to breathe out there I know that. When I got back from the grocery store I was standing at my front door trying to unlock it and thought I was going to pass out...couldn't catch my breath.
It's bad. Now they're talking about some bad storms coming our way this evening and tomorrow. I hope we don't get the 'BAD' part...but a good low key thunderstorm would be great.
show off!
LOLOL That reminds me of a story I heard years ago about the guy who put his RV on cruise and went in back to make a sandwich...he thought 'cruise control' meant the thing drove itself.
Do I need the ceramic bricks? We don't have those...we just have 3 burners and the plate things (I forget what they're called) that go over them.
