I dont see it as bragging because for the most part, you are laying out your positions for those of us that are already in the stock. In other words, you are just putting your money where your mouth is and I really appreciate that. The reality is, your div estimates are super conservative as they have not paid less than .39/Qtrly div in over 5 years and with energy recovering, I think a move up in div is inevitable.
I am pretty much all in at this point but if NGL pulled back after the 1st of the year to somewhere around $13.25, I would find the money to get more. If I did not have any position, I would jump in here and pick up a small position and add as you have suggested in the past. The reality is, we may not have another quick $1 drop on low volume as we have in the past.
EXCITING! Will NGL close above $14? Will DK break through $35? Looking forward to finding out
Lots of companies do not have stock certificates. Disney had an awesome one but stopped issuing them 3 or 4 years ago.
Did the same thing
I got my other 250 filled at $13.67. The positions I hold breakdown by the following NGL 50%/ DK 30%/ EPD 15%/ DKL 15%. If one of the other stocks becomes a great buy, I am sure I could transfer cash into my trading account.
Actually, I changed my second order to 13.60. One of the good things about being active with a stock is you understand how it trades and NGL has bounced back from any recent drops
I got my small order filled but have another 500 at 13.50.
You guys are motivating me today. Just put in an order of 250@ 13.85, will see if it gets filled.
I have little left to invest so have been holding off for a big pullback like we had the other week but will nibble here and take more bites if it drops.
Jugs,
I really appreciate you posting your buys.
In one post you mentioned that some people see this as you bragging but I assure you, they are morons. For those of us who have follow you (as well as Pete) they are the equivalent of a lighthouse beacon during a storm. They help us navigate the treacherous market waters, helping us determine when to cast our nets. Like you, I believe that we will not see the 11's or low 12's. What your post reminded me to do was point in a low ball (relatively speaking) buy of 1,500 @ 13.25 in the even we get another day where the stock falls $1.00 only to recover the next day or two. I also have a less aggressive buy order for 500@ $13.75.
Thanks again for all of the information. Thanks to your advice, my current
cost basis for the stocks you recommended are NGL/$11.89 (up 19%), EPD/24.30 (Up 5.6%), DK/$27.71 (Up 19%) and DKL/$28.06 (9.75%). If anyone is in doubt, they can go to the boards for each of these stocks to see my posts on my purchases. Some of the may be on the ALDW boards.
I doubt the casual investor who skims these obscure boards really understand the gift of information you (and other) provide. Most forums are pump and dump places filled with scam artists and amateur investors who rely on TV "experts" (using the term very loosely) for information.
Thank you again.
I did not get ETP, I have invested most of my cash but do have some reserves in the event that NGL pulls back again. I am looking forward to see where this all goes.
Thanks again for all of the insight.
S
Fantastic stuff going on. I have NGL, DK, DKL and EPD. As far as DK goes, I am happy for it to consolidate. DK is up almost $5 from where I bought, just about a month ago.
Well done all
When I saw the move in the stock I came here first to see if one of the veterans had insight into the move. Regardless, the move is sweet.
Happy with today. Good move up, nice volume. I hope that more people bought the other day when the price dropped to low 12's. If not, always a good idea to be ready in case it does again. I have an order in for 2,000 at 11.90.
I had put in an order for 500 @ 24.30 and forgot about it. Got filled today.
Hope we run up at the day of the day and close above 13. That would be fun
Thanks Jugs, I appreciate that. For good or bad, I like to post my trades (usually before I make them). As far as NGL goes, if I was someone looking to start a position, this would not be a bad place (IMO). I dont have a crystal ball but we could drop a bit from here, but I think it will only be temporary. We may hit resistance at 13 but once we break through, I think we fly. Again, just my opinion.
At the end of the day, this stock pays a good div and has for the last 5 years. Lowest was .39. which makes for an annual div of 1.59 which at the current stock price is 13%. I will take that all day long.
Not sure about after hours but I speculate the selling at the end was just a cascading of stop loss orders. Without any news, I will take it as a blessing. Maybe we get lucky and they try to leverage the dump at the end of the day and try to push it lower tomorrow am.
Putting another trade in, just in case we get another drop. 2,000 @ 11.70. I figure if it does drop again, it may go to 11.60 but I will spend the dime to get it.
Well done! Not sure if I actually contribute but I appreciate it. Just my habit to post my trades before I make them.
Bid drop at the end, I got my order filled. Very happy.
I hear that. I will be going into margin on my next buy but feel good about it. Stock was 12.55 when I made my post and a few minutes before closing dropped another .30. Maybe I will get it.
Put in another order. I like drops on low volume, put an order in 1,000 @ 12.15, wont get it today but maybe this week.
I am in DK, DKL (small position, and NGL, do any others scream at you?
Also, I have been waiting/expecting DK to pull back a bit but it keeps on going, any thoughts on that? It is overbought yet it keeps on going. Do we pull back at 34? 35? I have to say, if it hits 34 I am tempted to sell and reenter, if it hits 35, I think I will
I edited this to add that I may actually sell the call options, one or two months out if it hits $34/35.
Thanks for the heads up. I just landed and saw your post. I had the order for 1000 @ 11.60 that I changed to a market order and picked up the 1000 @11.725. I will now wait to see if we drop before buying more
I respect posting the call. Not sure if it will drop that much by Tuesday but will not be too surprised if we do. DK is in overbought territory so I do not think it is a bad call by any means, not that my opinion matters much. I will say, my play is to buy if we fall below $30. I currently hold 1,000 shares.
Good info for strategically buying when it dips. This info helps me and others I am sure.
Now that my 500 @12.05 was filled and with my buys last week, I have solid position started. I added another order for 500 at 11.85 (good for the day), in addition to the standing order of 1,000 @ 11.60 (60 days), I will also add another order for 2,000 @ 11.40.
I have two orders in, 500 @12.05 Good for the day and 1,000 @ 11.65, Good for 60 days.
Great information. I will look at the historic pricing of DKL but I have no doubt you are correct. I am definitely more focused on NGL and building a larger position. DK and DKL both have had good runs over the last week so would not be surprised to see them pull back, especially if no news is forthcoming.
Thanks Jugs. It is a reflection of my confidence in your picks and how you trade. Using NGL as an example, my purchase philosophy is pretty straight forward. If NGL has a conservative upside of $17 and a downside of $11.00, when the stock hits $17, will I really care if I got it at $11.50 or $12, probably not. In addition, NGL has a very good div. For the last two years, they have paid .39 dividend. What is the worst (reasonably speaking) case scenario, the div stays flat and NGL never really takes off and floats between 11.00 to 13.00/share, paying a 12%+ div.
I wont be crying over a 12% div.
I will take some time over the weekend to really layout my strategy but as I think about it, I may raise my next buy price to $12, just to build a larger position and then wait to see if we get that pull back in the next few weeks. I am also trying to add to my DKL.
I doubt we get there but I put in an order for 1000@ 11.60.
Again, I may be able to hold out for a bigger drop but if this thing runs, I would rather be in then miss an opportunity because I waited to get the best possible price. With that said, if I do pickup this 1000, I will get more aggressive on getting better pricing.
I was able to pickup a total of 1250 shares. I was able to start my position at $11.60 yesterday. I know we are up today but I will wait and see if we do not drop back down
Put in a small order of 500 at $11.55. I know others have posted that odds are it will go lower, even to $10.90 but with the upside of this stock, I wanted to at least start a position sooner rather than later. That way, if for some reason, it takes off, I at least have my foot in the door.
I will also add at 11.30 and every .10 lower, increasing order size with each drop. I will do some technical analysis over the next week so this may change. I normally never take advice from people on stock boards but after ALDW I have learned that folks like Jugs and Pete know more about this sector and these stocks than any expert I have dealt with.
With that said, you should never follow what I do, I just post it for transparency, not trying to get others to follow suit. I have almost all of my money in real estate, which is where I have expertise. The funny thing is, I use lots of the technical analysis I learned with stocks for finding gaps in real estate.
Taking time to do some research and I am wondering if the anyone sees any reason why the div for DKL should change.
Providing a bit of detail, on what is driving my question, I looked back 5 years and regardless if they hit or miss on earnings estimates (and they have usually missed in the last couple of years), they have never missed a div payment and, it is always goes up from previous div payments. Quarter after quarter the dive goes up .01 or .02.
another 100 shares, bought them at 27.60. Good enough for now. Will take Jugs advice and wait for the right price to get NGL.
Got them, now we are all in it together
Put in an order 200 @ 28.30. We will see
I always appreciate the update. I am out of ALDW and have 1000 DK, I may add another 500 to 1000 but holding the rest of my cash for some NGL.
If we make a killing, you can have as many as you like. Hopefully, we will have our liquor license by then.
Hi all. New to DK, started a position today.
I sold because I am just not sure what is going to happen or how ALDW pricing was/will be impacted. I just did not have a deep enough understanding of the deal so I did not want to guess or hope for the best and just got out.
