I view it more as a rollercoaster ride. Sometimes it is chug a lug, other times it is an exhilarating ride around blind curves and down straightaways, but ultimately the ride will stop. Hopefully longs will have a smile on their faces rather than a sick stomach! Longs can wave to the shorts on the sidelines. :>)
Here is why your post doesn't make sense to me:
If it were a scam the stock would have run to the $0.30-0.40 for the scammers to make decent money, not $0.10. There also would have been massive insider selling at that point to take advantage of the situation. However, if it isn't a scam there would be grave concerns about a pinkie until most cards are on the table, thus keeping it low.
Remember in this game it is Risk vs. Reward. The longs are cognizant of the risks with the potential of a great payday. If it is a scam then the longs will simply write it off their taxes. If it comes through the longs will gladly pay capital gains taxes...that simple.
I find it interesting how the shorts feel compelled to warn the longs. Are you always this altruistic with your endeavors? If so, a hearty Thank You.
A fraction of a penny here or there doesn't matter unless you want to flip.
I'll bite...Who's there?
My SHARES!!!
Suit yourself.... I was just trying to draw the distinction. FYI I am long and not trying to bash but there is a difference between speculating vs. investing. They are not synonymous. You may want to review your finance 101 book, seems it may help. gl
SURE you do buddy, SURE you do. Learning the distinction between investing vs. speculating is basic finance. It has to do with a risk profile, aka beta. GL
You should realize you have nothing invested here in Pink-land. Rather, you have a speculative position. It is not semantics, it is an important distinction!
I would read that as the initial suggested offer was broached and further details such as shareholder approval and review by attornys will have to be ironed out.
Unless you are an Attorney, and one that specializes in takeovers, you have no idea what other papers were exchanged or should have been exchanged between the parties. Obviously it was sufficient to warrant the next steps.
I think BUY!!! If you think this is a scam why are you here instead of moving on? Just curious...
What is your PPS guess for that time?
I had the same situation yesterday. Ameritrade gave me a song and dance that the order gets sent to a market maker and they don't have to fill with another marketmaker...long and short is your order was sent to a marketmaker that wasn't trading at your price.
Good point, it should be easy to get the remaining votes needed. (Also, where did you catch that salmon? Looks like mighty good eating!)
Can't we get an out of work KGB agent to translate this quicker? :>)
I am long but without inside knowledge NO ONE can say she is wrong, only you do not agree with her. Smarten up and realize there is a probability of each scenario - deal or no deal.
It's in real green money, not Canadian.
Much appreciated!
Thank you!
Thanks for the reply. With all the press releases I find it difficult to believe it is a scam but we just don't know. I wonder how often there are pink sheet scams with numerous press releases??? What is the government's role in policing this type of thing? Hopefully it is legit!
His nose is getting longer. He only posted here and AURC. Click his name any you will see.
What does everyone believe the odds are that this will go through and on time? I believe 60%, any thoughts?
I think they would need a new pair of "shorts".
Excellent post. It sounds great and makes sense! Thank you so much!!!
Has anyone else run a scan on their computer recently? I ran mine and found several spy-ware viruses. I went into this website and reran the software and found additional hits. I went down the list of posts so I don't know where the problem was. I now run the software before I get off the computer. I am curious if anyone else found anything, hopefully not but I am letting everyone know my experience. GLTAL.
PS, I am planning on going to the meeting. I figure it will be a nice getaway with a rainbow at the end of the trip!
BEWARE!!! Spy-ware virus is on this website. You need to run a spy-ware scan to clean your computer. I ran my program and it detected several virus from this website.
Did the Company sign a buyout contract pending Shareholder approval? If so, is there a back-out penalty clause if the offer is rescinded?
Does it matter?
You like $0.06 better?
Reporting the short interest is certainly not nonsense but making the logic leap that brokerages are shorting the stock which is preventing them from delivering the shares is. A brokerage house will not bother shorting this stock at this juncture. $18k is not worth their time, it is not material. I would view the short interest as simply a "fun fact".
The short interest as you report is only $18,000 therefore it is meaningless. If there were millions of shares shorted then that would be another story. People on the board were speculating the brokerages who did not credit the shares to accounts were shorting them...nonsense.
There have been several people speculating that there are market makers or other nefarious people "controlling" the stock or intentionally shorting the stock to keep it down. Someone a while back noted that the buyers who have been watching the stock are essentially all in along with some day traders. The price action is indicating that new money is not very excited at this juncture...it is not to say they won't be when they can't buy any at $0.30! It's just human nature to wait and see.
When the proxy is disseminated action may pick up, if not there is the shareholder meeting but by then most of the gain to $0.55 will accrue to those who have held on longer.
If the proxy has a proposal for the buyout (which I suspect it will) then I feel it is a done deal considering the controlling interest the insiders have. A vote for a buyout at the shareholder's meeting is just a formality according to corporate bylaws. Those with a controlling interest control, not those with a couple of hundred thousand or couple of million shares. Just go along for the ride and hope for the best.
"Other Matters" usually includes approving the outside auditors, voting on board members, as well as shareholder proposals if any.
Excellent post!!!
A respectable company would determine the company's value, make an offer, and not bother playing games to keep the share value low. They want to control the assets, not trade shares. It's an all on none deal... $0.55 was already accepted by both the board and the purchaser subject to a shareholder vote.
Therefore it should be "ALL SYSTEMS GO!" That is why I have been adding all along. Sure hope it doesn't run into any problems. Hoping for the best....
Best of luck longs!!!
Well said...the insiders who have a controlling vote will tell all other shareholders what THEY want. The buyout will only occur if it is valid, not rescinded, and those with a controlling interest feel it is in THEIR best interest. Everyone else is just along for the ride. To think otherwise is foolish. Those in control want to earn the most they can just like everyone else.
When the guy from the T/A said he received the proxy material did he say whether the buyout question was on the proxy???? ...MOST IMPORTANT!!!
Thank you for the suggestions, I will check them out...very kind of you to share. It would be nice to see this stock come to fruition and then the same people (longs and those who share) migrate to the next successful endeavor on another board.
I don't know the reason the MM sometimes uses 5000 as a placeholder but I have seen it numerous times and with several MM at the same time on an individual security. Case in point: CHNG, another stock I own.
5000 is just a MM place holder on pink sheet stocks. It doesn't represent actual bid and ask volumes. I have seen this on many pinkys.
