Has anyone been in a stock where settlement negotiations failed? I know there's no time limit on how long it should take. I'm just curious about how it affects the original timeline of producing documents and/or what was the court's response?
I definitely agree that the big money will come slowly with licensing agreements and future royalties over time. But I can't help looking for the big win either. Those are the ones that will make the stock price react the hardest. Gotta try and keep our feet on the ground as TK steers us toward the goal line. The silence of these settlement talks is deafening.
Netease has a 32 billion market cap. How much of that was made off Worlds patents? Would it be worth it to let such a big fish off the hook? That's a lot of enchiladas in past infringement.
Wouldn't the Bungie/Netease deal complicate a merger if Netease is also an infringer of Worlds patents?
Thank's I will look for it.
Deerballs knowledge is vast. His posts are like quotes from Shakespeare, like an equation from Einstein, a composition from Mozart. WHERE ARE YOU DEERBALLS? We need you. We are lost forever without your guidance.
Can you send me a link, please? I keep getting old stuff. Maybe I'm on the wrong site. Thanks.
True. I heard about Worlds from a poster on Vringo.
I'm almost positive White coal owns some Wddd. He/she wants cheap shares, but is not very good at convincing people to sell.
I'm willing to bet 80% of the shareholders in Atvi have no clue that this lawsuit is even going on or what's at stake. The Activision yahoo chatroom is oblivious.
I agree. I think we close the gap back down to .25 or lower on no news. I also believe someone is trading between accounts.
Good to see you're still here.
I wonder if Mad has been accumulating as of lately. I think the last time he posted anything was before the mention of the word settlement. I could be wrong. He has his own ideas as to when he wants to get back in. He's always helped tremendously with information on here. I hope he doesn't get stung badly if something comes out quick. HEY MAD, Are you out there, ere, ere? Where are you, oo, oo?
They could very well be on this board under a new alias and turned into a cheerleader. Their old alias's got so much wrong thru the years.
The Supreme court has already ruled on a couple of cases that have helped us already. Wi fi being one of them.
Thanks for the response Quilt. If you could clarify a little more I would appreciate it. It is still the PTAB"s job to rule that these patents are patentable, and owned by TK. Do we get that ruling if Bungie concedes?
I've had a nagging question in my head that has to do with settlement talks that I was hoping someone with legal expertise could answer. After all is said and done, and if Activision decided to settle on the courtroom steps, can it be said that the patents are considered patentable and TK is the true owner. Is there a final ruling on the patents(and the expiration date) which would stop other powerful infringers from picking up where Activision left off? Does a settlement end this process? Settlements usually end without an admission of guilt. Sorry for being a Debbie Downer. Anyone?
What kind of power does this court have if Bungie keeps playing the delay game? I don't think they can do anything. This court does not give punitive damages for Bungie's bad behavior. All they can do is follow the rule of law and let Bungie play the system. I agree if a Billion were on the line, I would go out kicking and screaming too.
I love how Data does little "drive-bys to boost the morale here. He's never here for long, just enough to keep the spirits up. Keep up the good work Data.
If it weren't for bad luck, we'd have no luck at all. Gloom, despair, agony on me.
By the looks of the chart, it seems as insiders started leaking info about the possible outcome 2 weeks prior. There will always be leaks.
If it's settlement talks, and they are stalling, the Judges will see right thru that and find that Bungie is not negotiating in good faith. I believe that everything is still going on as scheduled. Their briefs are kept hidden from the public until the rest of this thing plays out. I know the previous court release said something about settlement talks, But I'm to the point where I'll believe it when I see it.
You guys are thinking small. I'm looking to rent a vault to store my windfall in. lol!
I guess nobody really knows the answer. Is it being kept secret, or withheld because of settlement talks? Someone on here said that the limited amount of information they found from Bungie's brief was old rehashed documents. The longest we have to wait for an answer is shortly after the 19th of February (deadline of Bungie's reply to Worlds brief) I'm still wondering if the Activision/Bungie handoff of Destiny plays a role in any of this.
Great article Jersey. Thanks for posting. My favorite line "But with mounting concerns of Activision's influence over Blizzard, something weird is happening and it needs to be addressed before it's too late". What does it all mean? Does it apply to Worlds lawsuit moving toward a peak? Possible investor lawsuits? The plot thickens for Activision. Stay tuned. Same bat time, same bat channel.
Are they trying to figure out a way to keep the proceeds from Destiny out of worlds hands? How does this help ATVI in the end game? And how far are they really along in the settlement talks? Yes, you are right. It's just a guessing game for all us spectators. And yes, it is fun to speculate.
Delaying revenue streams? Sales are still sales as the court would order them to disclose those numbers in the event of judgment of whoever owned them at the time. Worlds definitely will lose leverage and/or future revenue(Destiny) if they go easy on Bungie in settlement talks.
I think we will see a spike in a settlement with Bungie. Short term holders will bring it down somewhat(maybe even close the gap) Then stock price will rise as we wait for a court date or possible settlement with ATVI. JMO
That seems like the only logical conclusion. I wonder if any of the legal eagles on here can contribute as to what happens in these type of situations. Judge Casper's court here we come(hopefully). We can only hope that all future gangster trials are held elsewhere.
If settlement talks are indeed in progress, it seems as though Bungie didn't/couldn't really defend themselves (based on the discussion here)with the documents they provided. What happens if the 2 parties still can't come to any type of agreement? I imagine worlds will still file something to finish on their end.
Does anyone know if Tom receives a check from MRMD? Under insiders, it does list that he is a director. I am still leaning toward the opinion that this new venture is Tom's personal deal. I wouldn't hold against him. 75k a year from WDDD is a decent paycheck, but is it enough to live comfortably in Massachusetts? Probably not. (yes, I'm assuming he lives there) Like most of us, he has to earn an income without having to sell his personal stash of WDDD stock. (a possible fortune) As Looking4BIGcash said. We need proof of ownership.
I agree, tk did say that he was looking for other ventures. thank you for your investigative work into this. He has never given us reason not to trust him and that’s why I respect the man. But, As always when investing, trust no one completely otherwise you may wind up as a bag holder. I hope you are healing well from your accident and once again thanks for all your hard work.
As far as being in a private venture by himself? Unless his contract says so, I don’t see why not.
A long time ago I got taken in a pump and dump where later I found that the CEO was also the CEO of several other companies. I learned a valuable lesson. This is different as TK hasn’t used his Pr firm to pump anything. I hope we see something soon.
I am wondering if this venture is only TK's little baby. There is very little info out there that I could find and nothing to tie it to WDDD financially. (unless I'm missing something) It would be great if we could take part in the wealth, but Maybe that's why our pr Dept hasn't mentioned it.
I agree, Using Trump as an analogy maybe wasn't such a great Idea with the country currently divided on the subject. But to take one post down and leave the other up is unbecoming of a moderator. Let us be fair to all here. Perhaps ABCD123 could re-do the post and use a different scenario.
I too want someone to claim your nickel. I hope it includes settlement agreements.
I asked this question before. Will this be released to the public? It could give Worlds an unfair advantage in their response as every patent attorney out there could comment/contribute and help in ways that Worlds attorneys haven't thought about.
Is this something we will be allowed to see? After all, It would give the public the opportunity to deciminate and put their 2 cents in giving Worlds an advantage. Just my opinion.
Yea, they got a week extension because of illness. I hope their 30 pages are filled with the words, we have no defense, we have no defense, we have no defense, etc. lol
