On May 14, 2014, the Company announced that it had closed a short form prospectus offering, on a bought deal basis, of 4,687,500 common shares for aggregate gross proceeds of $15,000,000 (the “Offering”). The Offering was completed at a price of $3.20 per common share (the “Offering Price”) by a syndicate of underwriters led by GMP Securities L.P. and including Jacob Securities Inc. (the “Underwriters”).
seems to me they have been downgraded to $3 - I wouldn't put too much faith in the projections of an investment banker, that sort of thing would lose you a lot of money
saying Tweed is worth $3 is like saying OGI is worth 60 cents, it is just unrealistic
seems you been shouting the good news for a while, hows that working for ya?
It is much easier to just start buying when the price of the corporation is equal to or less than its value, then you can rely on reality to get you returns
and I got this sneaking suspicion that you don't know the first thing about cannabis, which is that it is fun, and the people that use it traditionally don't normally worry too much about breaking petty laws.
That being said, when it is easier and less expensive to buy from a corporation than a gang, we normally don't care about following laws either - but some of us I guess have their own production gigs they want to keep
dude, anyone can make ice water and buy bubble bags - nice hash though, you just crop out?
you think one day, when full on legalization occurs, they will let me tour the chocolate factory and meet all the oompa loompas.
people invariably want to be free from rules and restrictions
it is very unnatural for any man to give a sh!t what another man is doing, unless you want to profit from it
corporations are evil, but this one ought to make us some money, yay!
Tweed just follows the law as it stands, and cannot wait for more opportunities to benefit from that strategy.
This is a good article, it is complete horse-sh!t and I love the last paragraph - very 'illuminating'
http://www.theglobeandmail.com/globe-debate/medical-marijuana-is-a-charade/article25328772/
Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of us will soon be getting our medical marijuana approvals – not because it’s medicine, but because we’d rather be on the right side of the law. Marijuana shouldn’t need to prove itself as medicine to be legal. It should be legal because it’s relatively harmless, and a lot of people like it.
apparently you don't need to do research for facts when you are writing a commercial
lol, this lady just said she is going to go out and get an authorization just to get high, to be on the right side of the law, and she writes for the Globe and Mail!!!
It's like this working adult woman is telling everyone that the whole system is a scam, it is not medicine, but that doesn't mean you can't have it! Be on the right side of the law, but it is all a charade.
If I didn't know any better i would think the same people that own the media organizations own a piece of almost all publicly traded corporations!
right, no registration needed, i just put a money order in the mail and don't worry about it.
Just walk into my local dispensary and hand money over to Hell's Angel's Quebec - sorry, but in order to get that bud I would need to buy from my stupid brother in law, and I have had quite enough of that, thank you very much - in fact he keeps bugging me now
I don't think you get it, you and your movement don't exist outside of a few isolated communities in filthy crime ridden cities
sure, all of you will keep on growing
you want the courts to sanction your actions, but if they don't you'll just say screw 'em and keep on doing your thing, how noble, Gandhi would be super impressed
are you talking about all doctors? or just the doctors that used to work at dispensaries in Vancouver?
Doctors are now being taught, by Tweed, how to do this business while keeping their licenses. What we had to do was get documentation of an actual illness, in this case Crohn's disease, we sent her doctor the results of my wife's colonoscopy along with the diagnosis supported by her gastroenterology specialist
i doubt my doctor is worried about keeping his license, and he has a client for life with us!
bet you never had to jump those hoops with your naturopath to get your authorization to grow 100 plants for your headaches, but times they are a changing
and it is not bribes, it is called medical outreach, and a few million dollars never hurt anyone - if you could read a financial statement you could drill down into exactly how much they are paying to completely change the system at the gatekeeper level.
even if patients can grow their own, realize that the abuses of the MMAR will come to an end as their authorizations expire and they find no legitimate claim for renewing their production. I for one would love to have a legitimate license to grow 20 plants for my wife, so thanks Allard!
I hope it does, I pay far more buying cannabis than I ever plan to invest in cannabis stocks
we have two authorizations for a total of 4 grams a day, from two independent Licenced Producers, and contrary to popular belief, there is no issue with changing LP's - at least not for a determined client like myself.
I try to stay under $5 a gram - that is $600 a month, you cut that in half, I wouldn't care if Tweed went bankrupt - but I would still be betting against it
I think Tweed will be in the driver's seat when the price wars begin, before anyone makes a play at providing really inexpensive product, so we are talking $3 a gram being a true collapse of prices, they would need a production capacity that rivals Tweed's to try to pull that off for everyone.
No way people ever bought this stock over 80 cents a share. why would anyone do that?
I got some issues with what Tweed makes available to their patients. The issue has nothing to do with quality, more availability.
Most people here don't seem to understand that I can be very much a fan of Tweed but still have some issues with them.
As for dispensaries, no way will I ever buy from one in Vancouver. Bunch of sell out activists, you could have really changed the whole game, you guys are blowing it. I can't believe the cops gives you all free reign to do whatever you want with cannabis, and you all try to sell it for $8 a gram just like Tweed!
My wife really is sick, I really could use some help, yeah we make money but we still trying to climb that ladder with everyone else, her script costs more than our mortgage - there is not ONE MMAR fueled dispensary out there looking to undercut Tweed's prices, you're all just basic criminals exploiting a messed up situation.
I can't blame you, Hell - I wish I could join you but I can't risk mandatory minimum sentencing, I am not a Hell's Angel's member or affiliate, so prison would suck for me, and then I would be deported back to the US of A
you can't send me back there man, I won't go!
Tweed is the number one cannabis corporation on the planet right?
They are going to have the largest production capacity of any LP for the foreseeable future, they have more inventory capacity, they have more patients than any other LP, or any other organization.
Can you name a dispensary that serves over 3000 patients every month, please include the address, who owns the business, and who is supplying it with cannabis please
there is no legitimate or illegal operations that come close to competing with Tweed, they are the largest and busiest cannabis producers in the world.
oh yeah? Where do you sign up to order Remo buds? What is his customer service number?
are Remo buds available to sick people that need it like my wife? Because if anyone ever sends me buds from a dispensary i am going directly to the Quebec Police to ask them if the purchase was legal. I hear they don't appreciate cannabis distribution in their province, and they have no problems taking cross country drives
I thought Remo just made over priced nutes and youtube vods, oh wait, he is also a designated grower too, right? Guy is obviously doing what he does JUST for patients, not to make butt loads of money like the greedy Tweedies.
what happens if my crazy little nephew gets a hold of my credit card, somehow gets the brains together to sign up his mom to a dispensary over the internet, and orders buds for her? Dayum, the Quebec Police would want to do something about that I am sure. How do dispensaries protect themselves against that sort of thing?
tell me about it, lost territory huh, well as long as I'm here there is still hope.
The local pigs have already had a few chances to get to know me, they know me and the wife smoke and there isn't anything they can do about it.
where I am at, we are definitely early adopters of this new medical treatment
I don't know man, I made an honest living today sitting by a pool listening to Bob Marley all day, really cleared my head, got to swim some, why mess that up?
I would rather let a group of hippies use the back half of the property for some experiment in social living, but I love hippies
i don't see how a campground makes a compelling reality tv show, even if the guy running it is a pot head that buys from Tweed, it is all cutting grass and watching kids at the pool (im a lifeguard too), I work for a living, nothing new about that
the campers don't even know me and my wife smoke, it is a huge taboo still where we live - people don't know it is legal, I had to show somebody the bottle because he didn't believe me
I don't think you understand just how far removed from normal society these rural Quebecois are, I swear they all look alike, it is gross - one really big family
actually the more you think about it, if I was really willing to go out there with my life, my family and the camp - there would be something worth watching somewhere in there, but no thanks
we would need a doctor willing to go to all the seasonal campers we have and write them scripts, but after that you definitely have a show
or what if one of you MMAR growers, showed up to my campground, signed a contract to use a site for the season, and planted a huge garden of cannabis in the middle of my ideal little family campground, that would make people sh!t for sure - kids near a plant!
that is so true. Eventually the government is just going to buy my cannabis for me, eventually the politicians will just show up and plant gardens in our backyards for us
damn, Bonno, you got me here dreaming about being dropped off on a small island with Ronna, Bruce, and Steven - Survivor style
I would end up doing all the work for sure, and I would lose in the end somehow, but at least I would win most of the challenges
and the LP's alone won;t get me to retirement, You need to understand that our business makes money - we need to invest in something.
Ever hear of a TFSA and RRSP? If we don't fill those up we are tax suckers, and I'll be damned if I would rather buy a bomb for Steven Harper to use on some poor brown person instead of investing in a peaceful industry to avoid paying taxes
of course he will just print money and put that debt on all our backs, but what can you do?
Rona and Harper aren't welcome at my campground, and if Bruce wants in he better have some LA Confidential
but it would be funny to have all those suits there when I explain what we actually do with the product the sell me, lol - it is all a scam, the whole world is a show, who cares?
if your 'coalition' would just step up and do what's right for people, tweed would actually be doomed, thank goodness for greed
anyways, all those people work for me, they should be too busy making bunk regulations and obeying them to listen to me.
This is for real, for all the real investors out there.
We all know full on legalization and international trade is coming.
We should tell the directors of this company now, as a unified force of shareholders - That we want all shareholder returns to be in their actual bud form. If they can put buds on the books as income, then they can figure out a way to make buds into dividends.
We put up our capital to support this venture, when our time comes we want it fresh and green, right? Who's with me?
it is funny how a Tweed share can cost so much less than a Tweed gram, how long will it be before they have more grams than shares?
That would be 50 tons of buds,, right? I am high, so I am probably off in a conversion or something. I would like to see just one ton of buds
they had 4 million in finished inventory March 31st. If that was all $7 a gram, that would be about half a ton, so they need to grow 49 and a half more tons in my opinion, or they are not meeting my expectations as a shareholder
and I want at least half a ton of that to be Buddy, because that would be cool, peace
and eventually there will be bud dividends, they should just mail out buds for dividends, and we will all begin a cashless resource based economy, international human rights, world citizenship, and a return to Zion!
You know what i just realized, I been living in Babylon too damn long, we all need to get back to Zion, capitalism is messed up
think about it this way. Tweed needs to grow and distribute to my wife 60 grams a month - that is a given. Those 60 grams they can't do anything else with, not yet anyways. The only thing they can do is sell it to patients regiestered to them.
so why are they growing cannabis my wife doesn't prefer? they are growing it for her, they could at least find out if she wants to smoke it - there is a light somewhere in tweed with my wife's name on it, or there might as well be (she paid for it), why not put the plants she wants under them?
please grow and hold 60 grams of Buddy for my wife every month please - then we would be happy, you don't need to grow anything else for her, you can keep the variety show for those that appreciate it, thanks
or better yet, grow enough of every strain you offer to make it permanently available to any patient that wants to try it - variety with consistency - I would like to see that as a customer and as an investor
we tried Argyle, Buddy, Leonidas, Bakerstreet, Norfolk - none were available when last I made a purchase, so now I try Brown, wonder what they will make my wife smoke next
and this isn't some new thing, it is the 6 strain in 6 months!
giving Brown a try now, should be in tomorrow. I am flush with product now, ordering heavy from Organigram as well lately, they got some discounts that help.
the only real solution is growing my own, don't want to do it, but I if my baby wants LA Confidential then that is what she gets - you listening Tweed?
why should Bruce Linton make that decision for us? What is he going to tell me that's going to matter, what matters is their menu - PERIOD.
i don't want to be consoled, i don't want policies and decisions explained to me, I want Buddy
the way i see it, my life gets better if they get back to the promise the way it was. I want to see the occasional $5 strain, I think it is better for patients.
I would rather they make a commitment to providing a $5 strain to anyone that needed one, they were licensed by our government to provide our citizens with medicine, why are they not making that commitment, instead they are shying away!
they are as profit driven as a dispensary. or an MMAR grower selling to one, it is all about money - money, money, money - that is what all my fellow shareholders want from me as a customer
I think this system sucks for a patient, in order to get my wife's full prescription I must make my order on one specific day from the available menu, if on that day they changed the price or availability of the medicine we want then that is Tweed's perogative - I got a forced variety when the first strain we tried was the only one we ever wanted
Buddy could go on sale today until June 15th, I would never have a chance to buy! Imagine if that was your wife's medicine!
yeah, I like Tweed, but i got to be for real. We all know they are going to make me a bunch of money, I expect them too, that's their job - it's a corporation
but as a customer I also want them to do right by my wife, it is medicine after all
so I am little on the fence, I love almost everything they are doing, guess i have high standards, that's why I haven't gone to a dispensary
I think we were all a little blown away by their production numbers, their 'cost of sales' was really nice, but I think of the flip side of that, that means they had millions of dollars worth of medicine in their safe for the last 4 months! A few hundred dollars worth of Buddy would have made a difference with my wife, that is enough for me to feel disappointed.
Bonno - the LP's give a $5 discount on their medicine for a good review, but it has to thoroughly dismantle the regulations set forth by HC in order to be worth that much
they call them points - you get 150 points for 150 word review - but that is just the beginning
they give you points for describing medical effects of strains, as if we were doctors
they give points for describing the ailments it treats, they give points for pictures, etc, etc, etc
you really ought to do your research if you wanted to trash Tweed, and maybe if Tweed don't start living up to all their promises you won't have to look to hard
maybe you are the better person to talk to him then - let him know what I think
I still say a promise altered is no promise at all, I still think variety is best served with consistency, they make a great pairing
I wouldn't get my point across right, I would end up pissed, you don't know me
I agree with you I should be able to grow - I hope Allard wins
I still think my investment is sound, these guys are pros at raising money and using it, they are better organized and more efficient than any of your 28,000 growers - but if you can find a better mail order source I can go to let me know here - haven't seen it yet
I learned Customer Service from the Master of hustling in Quebec, my crazy father in law - never make promises
but then again, I learned that customers were marks, not friends
Onward we grow!
sure, I buy 60 grams a month
You can send the $48 to my post office box, message me for the address, and don't forget the tax!
every month please, and you will never hear me complain again
and i run a business too, our number one rule is don't make promises! We run a campground, it is landscaping with customer service, customers always wanting more, more activities, a heated pool, volleyball court, etc, etc, etc, We don't promise them anything, never broken a promise yet
changing prices is business, but promising prices is marketing - they lied
I just don't want to hear the excuses. As a shareholder I might even like the policy, they been bringing up their price per gram sold up regurally - that is the consequence of their broken promise - I know I have been paying more for sure, anyone that was buying Buddy must now by necessity
I had one customer care center give me a canned message, Buddy not available at this time, would you like me to recommend another strain.
i commented on one of their blog posts and got another explaination - Buddy was not easy to grow was the gist of it, Buddy is not coming back is what they said - discontinued, caput!
It is no longer on their menu, it is not on their strain guide. it is as if their promise and their $5 strains never existed, maybe it's all in my head, whatever - going to put down the keyboard and pick up the pipe, peace
they were pros, always are.
I can be a real jerk sometimes too, Bruce called and left his number with an invitation to talk - but what the hell can I say to Bruce? It is just not my style to get involved with the real world, rather just vent on this board
i am a pothead afterall
i didn't return the call, he can respond through the available menu at Tweed.com
show me this person that cares
who is the person out there trying to legalize cannabis just because it is right? why all the dispensaries, why not public gardens operated by volunteers? You guys are an impressive sight yelling at pigs in Vancouver, but how is that helping out anyone except the teenager looking for an score?
no one cares, everyone is out for themselves on this one, the LP's, the dispensaries, me and my wife, etc. etc.
You trashing Tweed on iHub because you care about patients? Get real, you are here in some misguided attempt at hurting your competitors - so who cares?
a clarification?
hey bonno and awesomesound - feel free to use this, I hear you all day long trying to trash tweed, use this.
They recently clarified their position. They PROMISED to provide my wife with grams under $5 a gram. They were selling grams for $5 available to anyone. They also offered us a discount, 20% because we don't make much income
then they clarified their position, they explained the only way to get those $5 grams was to start ordering $6 grams and applying your discount!
Thanks for the clarification, the way to the $5 gram is through the $6 gram
end result - we pay 80 cents more for product that is no where near as effective at helping my wife - hows that for clarity
yeah, i hear ya - it was the morning when I wrote that message, i get pissed.
as an investor - I like Tweed
as far as Organigram goes it is just speculation - I made money on it before so I just have a thing for OGI - but whatever - those are the two I shop at, so I own them and talk about them
as a customer - Tweed continues to disappoint me on a few small issues - if they brought back Buddy, kept it available, grew enough for my wife and anybody else that needs it to relax and sleep - and kept the price where it was when I registered - then we would have no problems, well I would want to see some more Leonidas too
If they did that I wouldn't have anything to complain about - but my wife liked buddy, she keeps asking me whether it is available even though i said they just were not bringing it back - and it pisses me off that I stooped to buying a blended product, can't believe i don't make enough to buy whole bud product, i can't believe i am forced to show my wife another strain every other week
I would like to have both a variety and a consistency one would expect from a multi-million dollar production operation - but I have yet to experience it
and you write to Tweed or Bruce I already have, Bruce even called and left a message. I really don't have anything else to say to them, they can grow some L.A. Confidential and satisfy my demands or they don't - they can choose to be consistent of they can have a constantly revolving menu of strains for my wife to experiment with - it's their choice, I don't even care, I know they are making me money by doing the same damn thing to hundreds of other patients out there
just wished for once i could have absolutely nothing to complain about, no broken promises, no unavailable medicines - but whatever, at least they got their stock options, guess we can't all have options in life, some of us have no choice but what others provide us
guess i should get back to writing rave reviews for Tweed, need to afford next months medicine
yes, they can justify the changing in wording - BUT
when I first started ordering the promise was they were going to make 10% of their product available for $5 or less. Later they added the phrase "after discount' to their promise while removing any product available for $5.
That is all true, they altered their promise, an altered promise is a lie, are they selling their buds for under $5 grams, YES, but it is different then when I started, and so is their promise
the promise, along with their compassionate care pricing, assured me when I registered with Tweed that their would be some buds available to me at $4 a gram - they changed the promise, haven't been able to get the strain of choice of the patient in question since January, and the bud we do get costs us $4.80.
I own over 2 thousand shares of this company, me and my wife don't have much money, this is tax saving because we are entrepreneurs. We are up in our investments to date, thank you all - but I got some problems with Tweed.
!. They broke their promise to a patient that needs this medicine - my wife. When we registered there were a couple $5 strains - with a promise that 10% of their production would be for sale for $5 or less. So when we ordered our product, because we don't make good money, we got a discount and got our product for $4 - my wife got Buddy - it has been her favorite strain. - Now the promise is an 'after discount' $5 - the difference for me and my wife is we pay 80 cents more for a gram every time we order. THEY LIED, an alteration of a promise, however minute, is a LIE!
2. We don't know whether Buddy will ever be back, or Leonidas, or Bakerstreet, or Norfolk - EVERY STRAIN that we could afford to buy and try is no longer available to us - variety is good, but we are experiencing a FORCED VARIETY with an increase in price per gram. On our latest purchase I was forced to try their blended product.
3. In order to get a discount on the products my wife needs I am forced to write reviewsand therefore market the product. Tweed and Lift put in place a system that pays for my reviews - I have made $16 dollars writing reviews for Tweed - I think this is a violation of the regulations put in place by Health Canada -
and when I talk to Bruce tomorrow - I am going to tell him straight up - he is going to start growing some Buddy for my wife and he is going to tell me when it will be available - or I am going to start writing a letter to Health Canada and kirk Tousaw about my rights
I dont care about the money, the reviews, whatever, whatever - Buddy better be coming back Tweed - make a $5 per gram product that is decent and put a Buddy sticker on it NOW!!!!
I might be a 20 year pot head, but I am not stupid. On March 31st they had $4 million finished product, they might have sold half of that if they were lucky in the last 3 months, but they grew many millions more buds - they have the product available!
