Goldsource Announces New Coal Discovery at Border Project, Saskatchewan; Split-Leaf Area Produces 35.3 Metre Coal Zone Intercept
08:05 EST Monday, March 02, 2009
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - March 2, 2009) - Goldsource Mines Inc. ("Goldsource" or the "Company") (TSX VENTURE:GXS) is pleased to announce a new coal discovery in the Split-Leaf area (sub-basin) on its wholly-owned Border Project located near Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan, Canada.
The Split-Leaf sub-basin is located approximately 7 kilometres south from the Chemong sub-basin area where Goldsource drilled a 132.6 metre coal zone intercept announced on February 26, 2009 and approximately 11.5 kilometres from the Pasquia sub-basin area where recent drilling has indicated coal zone continuity over a 2 square kilometre area (to see attached map, please click on the following link: http://media3.marketwire.com/docs/gxs.pdf). The Pasquia area remains open in all lateral directions as announced by the Company on February 27, 2009.
The Split-Leaf new coal discovery has been made by drilling a geophysical anomaly with signatures similar to those exhibited by the 2008 discovery holes and numerous other holes which intercepted significant coal intercepts at the Border Project. Hole BD09-41, intercepted thick coal intervals of 25.5 metres of continuous dull to bright coal within an approximately 35.3 metre coal zone including partings. This discovery is further confirmation that the geophysical techniques and interpretation being used by the Company are successful in identifying coal bearing sub-basins. This new area is currently open to expansion laterally in three directions and additional holes are planned to determine the extent of this new discovery. The holes drilled at Split-Leaf are vertical and the coal zone intervals are estimated true thicknesses.

(i)Visual identification of Coal Zone contains both coal and partings.
Hole BD09-38 showed no significant coal intercept.
J. Scott Drever, President, stated; "Our overall plan continues to be to identify as many priority areas at Border as we can in this winter's program and to establish confirmation of the various geophysical signatures which are indicative of sub-basins that correlate with the presence of thick intercepts of coal. One drill rig has been dedicated to identifying new areas to the south of the original discovery area and it is particularly gratifying to see that one of the first targets to be drilled has encountered significant coal intervals. There are additional geophysical anomalies within the Border Project area that indicate potentially much broader-sub basins that need to be tested and if they prove to be coal bearing this would bring a new dimension to the overall potential of the coal deposits within Border."
Initial identification of the intervals of the coal zone in the table above is based on visual characteristics. The Company cautions against placing undue reliance on the visual observations of the coal intercepts until the results of the analytical work have been announced.
Sampling and laboratory test work at Loring Labs in Calgary for the initial holes drilled in this program has commenced with initial results anticipated in March. Down-hole geophysics has been completed on all holes and adjustments to coal seam thickness may occur when reporting final results.
N. Eric Fier, CPG, P.Eng. and Qualified Person for this news release has reviewed and approved its contents.
This news release contains forward-looking statements, which address future events and conditions, which are subject to various risks and uncertainties. The Company's actual results, programs and financial position could differ materially from those anticipated in such forward-looking statements as a result of numerous factors, some of which may be beyond the Company's control. These factors include: the availability of funds; the timing and content of work programs; results of exploration activities and development of mineral properties, the interpretation of drilling results and other geological data, the uncertainties of resource and reserve estimations, receipt and security of coal permits and mineral property titles; project cost overruns or unanticipated costs and expenses, fluctuations in commodity product prices; currency fluctuations; and general market and industry conditions. Forward-looking statements are based on the expectations and opinions of the Company's management on the date the statements are made. The assumptions used in the preparation of such statements, although considered reasonable at the time of preparation, may prove to be imprecise and, as such, undue reliance should not be placed on forward-looking statements.

Goldsource Announces Coal Continuity Developing in Pasquia Sub-Basin, Border Project, Saskatchewan; Drilling Intersects Combined Coal Thickness of 56.2m
Last Update: 2/27/2009 9:00:13 AM
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Feb 27, 2009 (Marketwire via COMTEX) -- Goldsource Mines Inc. (GXS) ("Goldsource" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that recent drilling is developing potential coal continuity over an open-ended area of approximately 2 square kilometres at the Border Project located near Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan, Canada. This area is currently open to further coal definition in all lateral directions. Drilling will continue to delineate this coal deposit which is located in the Pasquia sub-basin approximately 3.5 kilometers northwest of the Chemong area of the Border Project where a 132.6 meter coal zone intercept was announced on February 26, 2009.
Drill holes BD09-30, 32, 36, 37, 42, 45 and 46 were drilled as step-outs to holes BD08-02 and BD08-05 (see attached map: http://media3.marketwire.com/docs/Pasquia%20Drill%20Targets%20Feb%2027-09.pdf and table below) which previously encountered 23.4 metres and 36.05 metres of good quality thermal coal, respectively. Hole BD09-37 intersected a 43.3 metre coal zone including a 21.5 metre interval of combined dull to bright coal as well as an underlying 10.9 metre coal zone. Hole BD09-30 intercepted two coal zones measuring 34.8 and 21.4 metres respectively for a combined thickness of 56.2 metre of dull to bright coal. (i)Visual identification of Coal Zone contains both coal and partings.
Drill holes BD09-27 and 28 drilled within the Pasquia area contained
no significant coal intercepts.
Step out drilling is in progress to determine the limits of this particular sub-basin within the Border project in preparation for an initial coal resource estimation. In addition, other sub-basins of coal are being delineated within the Border Project (see press release dated February 26, 2009).
J. Scott Drever, President stated; "Our overall plan is to identify the priority areas that contain sufficient quantities of coal such that we can delineate resources that may be economically developed. The drill program to date has been very successful in identifying new deposit areas and the 100% drilling success rate achieved so far by the step-out drilling around discovery hole BD08-05 is a huge advance in establishing a broad coal zone over several kilometres which remains open laterally in all directions."
Initial identification of the intervals of the coal zone in the table above is based on visual characteristics. The Company cautions against placing undue reliance on the visual observations of the coal until the results of the analytical work have been announced.
Sampling and laboratory test work at Loring Labs in Calgary has commenced with initial results anticipated in March 2009.

Goldsource Intercepts 132.6 Metre Coal Zone at Border Project
9:47 PM ET, February 26, 2009
VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Feb 26, 2009 (Marketwire via COMTEX) -- Goldsource Mines Inc. ("Goldsource" or the "Company") (GXS) is pleased to report that it has drilled a 132.6 metre intercept of coal zone in the Chemong area of the Border coal project ("Border") near Hudson Bay, Saskatchewan, Canada.
In order to better delineate the coal intervals encountered in the 2008 discovery holes BD08-03 and 03A, and BD08-06 and 06A, both of which intersected substantial coal zones ranging from 28 to 41 metres thick, (see summary press release dated October 3, 2008), a series of -50 degree angle holes (BD09-29, 34, 40, 43 and 47) were drilled from the BD08-03 and BD08-06 discovery hole sites in the Chemong area (see attached map at the following link:
http://media3.marketwire.com/docs/gsx0226fig1.pdf).
Hole BD09-40 drilled 010 degrees north from BD08-03 and encountered 115.7 metres of combined dull to bright coal within an approximately 132.6 metre (est. 100.0 metres true thickness) coal zone with partings.
Hole BD09-34 drilled 250 degrees west from BD08-03 and encountered 72.9 metres of continuous dull to bright coal within an approximately 72.9 metre (est. 55 metre true thickness) coal zone with minor partings.
Hole BD09-43 drilled 155 degrees southeast from BD08-06 and encountered 28.5 metres of combined dull to bright coal within an approximately 54.2 metre (est. 41 metres true thickness) coal zone with partings.
Holes BD09-29, 34, 40, 43 and 47 are summarized below.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------Hole From To Coal Zone(i) Note (metres) (metres) Interval (metres)----------------------------------------------------------------------------BD09-29 96.5 112.5 16.0 BD08-03 site-50 degree angle hole. Estimated True thickness 12 m----------------------------------------------------------------------------BD09-34 109.6 182.2 72.9 BD08-03 site 50 degree angle hole, Estimated true thickness 55m.----------------------------------------------------------------------------BD09-40 108.8 241.4 132.6 BD08-03 site -50 degree angle hole, Estimated true thickness 100m----------------------------------------------------------------------------BD09-43 104.5 159.0 54.5 BD08-06 site -50 degree angle hole. Estimated true thickness 41m----------------------------------------------------------------------------BD09-47 84.0 108.5 24.5 BD08-06 site -50 degree angle hole. Estimated true thickness 18m----------------------------------------------------------------------------(i) Visual identification of Coal Zone contains both coal and partings. One hole drilled in the Chemong area, BD09-31, contained no significant coal intercepts.
"Intercepting a coal bed of over 100 metres in thickness is absolutely stupendous," said J. Scott Drever, President. "Think of it as a 33-story tall building. We are unaware of any other such coal occurrence in North America. Our plan for the area surrounding discovery holes BD08-03 and BD08-06 is to expand the coal zones and identify sufficient quantities of quality thermal coal such that we can delineate an economic resource that has the potential to be developed."
With each successive drill hole, Goldsource is establishing a more comprehensive understanding of the geological and depositional characteristics of the coal at Border. The depth and extent of coal found in the recent directional drilling of the Chemong area indicates that re-drilling of some previously completed holes in this area to depths below 100 metres is likely warranted as additional coal zones may be discovered at depth.
Hole numbers BD09-11, 14 - 17, and 19 which were previously reported as having no significant coal intercepts are being re-examined for possible extension drilling below a depth of 100 metres where new coal intercepts (BD09-34 and 40) in this area are showing exceptionally thick coal intervals (see attached map). Initially, holes BD09-11, 14-17 and 19 were drilled until they intersected limestone thought to underlay the coal zone, or to a maximum depth of 150 metres, whichever came first. The occurrence of one or more limestone (or re-sedimented limestone/dolomite) beds, may appear sporadically above the coal and previous holes may have stopped prematurely within this limestone unit(s) before reaching the coal zone. This theory will be drill-tested during the next few weeks.
From the holes drilled to date, the broader sub-basins appear to be comprised of discrete features containing exceptional coal intervals of up to approximately 100 metres thick with their limits defined by certain geophysical signatures and the underlying Devonian limestone. It is believed that the contours of underlying Devonian limestone continue to be a critical factor in defining the sub-basins and this information is being used to target other areas of potential coal deposition at Border and the Company's other properties.

Cloudbreak Resources Ltd. (the "Company") is pleased to report that the Company has received coal permits from Saskatchewan Energy and Resources. Historical data covering this ground indicates several significant coal intercepts.
In 2000, Golconda Resources intercepted 145 meters of "coal seams of varying thickness interlayered in unconsolidated sandstone. Sandstone light beige with medium grained composition" (presumably cantuar formation) from 17.5 meters to 163.06 meters within the permitted area CPP 5122. This property is adjacent to the Goldsource Mines, (GXS-TSX:V) Ballantyne property, and the Golconda hole is approximately 17.5 kilometers west of the Ballantyne property boundary. Golconda Resources was not drilling to intercept coal in 2000. The general geology of the area is mapped as Cretaceous Mannville Formation. The historic hole is in the area of a highway so easy access is possible for commencement of drilling as per the Coal Disposition Regulations of Saskatchewan.
In another area to the south of the Golconda hole, approximately 50 kilometers southwest, drilling in1993 by Consolidated Pine Channel intercepted coal seams of varying thickness within the permitted area CPP 5063. The hole was described as "278 feet to 308 feet Lignite: largely intermixed with silt in the centre part of the section". This area is mapped as Cretaceous Mannville Formation and in the vicinity of a highway.
Recent information from GSC paper 89-4 written in 1989 by G.G Smith indicates the coal was misidentified as Lignite in the Wapawekka pit. This coal is identified as Sub Bituminous C.
Both coal intercepts are historic and the descriptions are garnered from drill core logs filed in Saskatchewan Energy Resources Library located in Regina, Saskatchewan, by the previous operators as outlined above.
Cloudbreak Resources has approximately 45,500 acres of mineral interests which border Weststar Resources, (WER-TSX:V) "18 meter Property". Cloudbreak’s Coal Prospecting Permits are approximately 15 kilometers north of Weststar Resources, historic coal intercept hole.
The permitted areas are plotted on a map which can be viewed on the Company’s website.
