Hey crooner glad to hear from you!
No one ever said the permitting process was going to be an exciting event.
I'll be sure to wake you when the fun starts.
I'd love to have a sit down one-on-one with him.
Jon, I still feel left out. Why didn't you want to send me the message?
I still firmly believe that I, a 24 year old engineering student, could run that city 10x as efficient as it is being run currently.
Pawsy, who are these responses directed at?
4x6
I'd love to see a nice solid buy at 6 right now!
They are just trying to grab onto anything they can in an effort to discredit Laidlaw. It's quite sad, really, that a company can work hard to bring some much needed revenue to a city... and they bite the hand that feeds.
Today's BDS is a hoot!
This is my favorite (from a Berlin councilman)
“It ain’t got a snowball’s chance in Hell of happen-ing,” said Donovan.
YEE HAW!
Berlin, opportunity isn't just knocking... its got its bags packed and heading your way, time to embrace it.
Now this is news!
N.H. utility tests cocoa shells as fuel source
PORTSMOUTH (AP) — Producing electricity in New Hampshire is getting a bit greener, and sweeter, thanks to a collaboration between the state’s largest utility and chocolate maker Lindt USA.Public Service Company of New Hampshire tested a new fuel mix Tuesday in the boiler of its Ports-mouth power station: a combination of coal and cocoa bean shells left over from the production of chocolate.Lindt USA now has European sub-sidiaries produce huge blocks of choc-olate that get shipped to its Stratham facility, but it hopes to begin produc-ing its own chocolate from raw cocoa beans later this year. This week’s test burn will determine the feasibility of using those shells as a fuel source.Lindt offi cials say they aren’t aware of any other shells-to-energy projects in the U.S. chocolate industry.
I could run that town better than those clowns..
So Mr. Bertrand's idea is this:
1) The stack goes down
2) ????
3) Profit!!!!
Mr. Edwards regularly posts on the byte and chew blog under comments. I am almost certain that what is posted on that blog could be labeled as libel against Mr. Bartoszek and his company. Those on that blog should be a lot more careful...
Look how happy he looks.
I'll tell you what, there must be a lot of "value" in those dilapidated downtown Berlin businesses to spend this much time and effort trying to somehow slander Laidlaw's image. It truly is sad that Mr. Edwards has nothing better to do with his time. I'm guessing the real estate isn't selling too well...
I feel left out, I didn't get the message!
Maybe he knew I could see through that BS...
Can anyone else not see the charts on the ibox anymore?
I agree, LLEG is the only thing in my portfolio holding steady or increasing.
Still looking to establish a nice bottom here at 6.
Changed the ibox: only 1 picture of the Berlin Mill but if you click on it you get a slideshow linking to 23 other photos.
Check it out
Big boards getting slaughtered...
What is the OS/AS for this company?
I am considering buying some CLBN. I have a few renewable energy stocks in my portfolio including LLEG, who also received financing for their project in NH.
Can anyone give me the skinny on what CLBN is looking to build / timeframe?
TIA
Matthew
Im in NH also, same amount of snow fall so far! My Subaru handles it well though!
Nor'easter blowing through! Anyone else dealing with the snow?
Oh very true, I only have the OS and AS... How would one go about getting the rest of the info?
The share count was updated as of Friday, # of shares the same
Thats the beauty of this stock, the longer we wait, the closer we get.
Have a great weekend all,
Matthew
Selling continues at such low value... wonder why...
Have never heard this before, but an interesting listen:
MBB interview:
http://www.stoxrox.com/lleg.mp3
Investors will continue to buy this stock. A few days of selling should not affect anyone's long term vision for this company.
Matthew
It will take resilience on the part of investors, but the payoff will be worth it.
There will be bashers telling us that this project cannot happen, for a number of reasons.
There will be periods of no news, where everything is slow and droll.
There will be uncertainty during the permitting process.
The investor that can weather the storm on this one will be rewarded, IMO. These are the the lowest prices you will see for LLEG. Think too, after the Berlin Biomass plant is awarded a permit, construction begins and there are no more uncertainties. Berlin will be a done deal.
Matthew
Nez - glad I could lighten you up!
I am not looking to sell any of my shares until these plants are making power. Speculation money might look OK, but wait until you see what a company with real earnings looks like in your portfolio. That's my opinion.
Always nice to know the resilience of the CEO. Shows true testament to how determined he is to get these projects done. The small annoyances, he ignores and keeps his eyes on what needs to be done.
Matthew
Good morning, all.
I found this post very insightful from Mr. Bartoszek:
(From his blog)
http://laidlawenergy.blogspot.com/2008/06/it-aint-over-til-its-over.html
The Yankees played a day game today at Yankee Stadium against the Toronto Blue Jays, so along with what seemed like half of NYC, I took the afternoon off and hopped on the D train to the Bronx.
The Yankees haven't been having such a great season thus far, so my expectations weren't that high, but having grown up a die hard Yankee fan it is always a thrill to go to Yankee Stadium where a little magic will always reside for those of us were kids for some of the great, old (pre-free agency) Yankee teams (in my case it was the '77 and '78 Yankees).
By now I am sure many have seen news accounts of the game, but I have to say that it was probably the single best live baseball game I have ever witnessed. I also found it very inspiring, but perhaps not for the obvious reasons. The game was full of setbacks for the Yankees. An easy fly ball dropped, which turned into 5 runs for the Blue Jays. A double play after several missed sacrifice bunt attempts that took away runners that would have allowed the Yankees to tie the game and perhaps take the lead.
Then, in the top of the 9th, Yankees relief pitcher Kyle Farnsworth entered the game to give up two singles and a ground rule double which brought home another run that put the Jays up 8 - 6.
As is very typical, fans started streaming out of the stadium at this point in an attempt to "beat the traffic" or to do whatever it is that people do who seem to run for the exit as soon as things look bad for their team. I have always wondered about such people as I have never had the inclination to do such a thing. I wonder how many last minute wins or great plays these people miss, simply because they assume the game is all but over because their team is behind late in the game. Inspiration came for me in a most unlikely form right about this time.
Farnsworth was obviously having a terrible outing and in traditional New York fashion, the crowd that wasn't leaving the stadium at this point was expressing its displeasure in other ways. A fan sitting a few seats behind me mercilessly heckled Farnsworth through the entire inning. Based on his analysis, you would have thought Farnsworth was a lower form of life than whatever organisms are present in a Yankee Stadium men's room.
The loud and obnoxious fan continued his whining and complaining into the bottom of the 9th inning as the first two Yankee batters (Derek Jeter and Bobby Abreu) went down easily, giving the Yankees two outs and little hope. Still more fans were steaming out of the exits while A-Rod was coming up to bat. At that point, Mr. Obnoxious stood up and announced that the game was over and proceeded to head for the exit.
Had Mr. Obnoxious waited around for a few more minutes, he would have witnessed a great come back, as A-Rod singled and scored on Mitsui's subsequent at bat, bringing up pinch hitter Jason Giambi. Giambi quickly got behind in the count, when with two strikes he sent the next pitch just inside the foul pole and into the upper deck for the winning run. The stadium went wild and the Yankees celebrated at home plate as if they had just won the World Series.
I suppose what I found inspiring is that the fans who assumed the game was over reminded me of the many negative people that you encounter in life and Mr. Obnoxious reminded me of the many people who think they know it all and tell you that you can't succeed. So, I think the moral of the story is to stick with it until you succeed and don't be afraid to swing for the fences.
Keep Swinging, MBB, we're all behind you.
Rich,
Not at this time. Last time people threw deadlines out there, there was too much anticipation.
I am confident, however, that Laidlaw has been ambitious about the application and will take no more time than is necessary to get it right the first time!
Did you read my post from this past weekend? I included some great information about the permitting process and what it entails/how long, etc..
The good news is because this is a renewable energy project, the permitting time is decreased and thus, we will get results sooner.
Hope this helps.
Matthew
Article about how to optimize sustainability of Biomass Energy projects:
http://pubpages.unh.edu/~mfn6/Biomass/Planning%20Woody%20Biomass%20Logistics%20for%20Energy%20Production.pdf
It's a more technical read, but it provides insight as to the technology that these Biomass companies use to optimize Biomass to ensure sustainability. As we all know, Mr. Bartoszek is committed to building sustainable biomass energy plants and I am sure that Laidlaw will be following a process similar for his SEC application.

Only 1.5Million away from keeping our volume in the green
Keep it at 6, just allows me more shares for the same price!
LT investment... I'm holding this for when they announce that we received our permit for our Berlin Biomass plant and well after that!
Informative article about biomass - easy and informative read for all:
