"so how come MP paid him??"
Paid him off, maybe ... as others were paid off in loch/cdex's long and "colorful" history.
atxman ... you may recognize some of the posters here from the old loch boards (before we got terminally zapped). Some of our user names have changed, but not our desire to expose the rotten heart of this saga.
So, my question to you: why not just tell what you obviously know about this entire loch/cdex story and its cast of characters. That's the same question I've asked ~kidd, but without much success.
Wouldn't that be much simpler than playing cat and mouse board games? If you want to be certain your posts won't be deleted by the ever-vigilant board monitor here, go to the old loch I-Hub board. No monitor there to act as self-styled moderator.
Oh how funny ... can't wait to see if mikel sees fit to reply.
btw, crow ... I only have a few dates clear, for what they're worth:
The Croatian "tests" were on/around Feb 14, 2000 ... the Weil article Feb 23, 2000 ... Nigel indicted sometime mid 2000 ... the Washington demo Sept 14, 2000 ... the nonpublic SEO investigation announced October 2000 ... the Taiwan "Q&A sweep" March 2001 (I think).
Some of us were in touch with Degenhart, Douglas and Gandy from mid 2000.
crow ... I thought (but not sure) the FBI and soonly thereafter the SEC were already sic'ed on loch before the Washington demo. Maybe xeno or ~kidd will verify one way or the other, with a time line even.
Looking forward to reading (rereading?) them ...
MP: We tried, we really really tried.
... and here's when it all began crumbling:
(start with this page and keep going forward ... .2, .3 etc)
http://www.coralstrand.karoo.net/information/Extracts/ELF_1.1.htm
And so then MP just happened on the scene and with his vast experience "running companies" decided to turn loch around?
Oh, sure.
[edit] -- it doesn't seem to work scrolling, but googling elf.2, elf.3 etc probably will -- or that + Croatia.
One more comment, jennifur ...
"I suspect that Those who benefited by the hi/lo fluctuations of LOCH,aside from insiders & mgt, were mostly connected to the perps(including MM's)in the know. Others were simply lucky or sophisticated enough to recognize & catch P&D cycles."
Perhaps you don't know the close connection Starke & Co, aka Nigel Ramsay, had with one of Loch's biggest promoters and board hypesters, tomscheboy ("It'll be worth BILLIONS !!!!!!!!!!"), and how they both worked.
There's no "suspecting" at all. Without either one, I've often wondered if anyone would have ever even heard of Loch (and after their demise, cdex). They were a dream team made in daBeez' version of heaven, and they were aided by the likes of closertocash aka up&0 today -- he had much to lose and/or gain by loch breaking the pps sound barrier and he never let an opportunity go by, on any RB board, related or unrelated to Loch, without yelling and screaming his "enthusiasm." There were also the many "doc's" who pumped and hyped, at least one of them in exchange for a sizable helping of stock.
It's all documented, jennifur, along with a great deal more.
Now ... was MP the brains behind the whole thing, starting way back then? That, to me, is just about THE most interesting question. There are many others, but none of them come even close.
It's a tale not yet well told.
Jennifur ... a fair comment on inet's investment, until you look more closely at what he wrote (in full) about it:
"OH I,m not innocent. I was in a penny stock in 1999,that advertised great promise, and invested a thousand bucks. They were scheduled for an auto show in Orlando in Feb of 2000.Since it was a fairly local company.I dropped in on them unannounced. The first words I got was Peter Lynch was here yesterday. I didn't like what I saw,( I guess Lynch didn't either) so just before the show (after boo koo advertising) the price skyrocketed to high of $49. a share. I cleared $38 grand out of it ,then pi44ed most of it away on Loch. That company was practically history 2 years later. For that matter I was not even aware of chat boards at that time,so I had no geniouses guiding me."
It sounds to me as if inet had more than a vague suspicion that all wasn't as it seemed with that company. They had Peter Lynch's name to toss out ... loch had the Christians, father and son.
But only inet can say if he suffered even a qualm about riding it up when he "didn't like what he saw."
However, that's really beside the point, which is loch/cdex. With loch, as far back as the Jonathon Weil article in early 2000 it was clear what loch was up to. You say "had you bought low and sold high you wouldn't have known that your gain was based on deceit/false information". That's true, if you'd sold right at the top, just before the Weil expose. But if you bought low and held on through that high, for more than a couple of weeks, assuming you did even basic DD even then, you'd have had ample evidence that there was something very rotten in Denmark (or Croatia, as it were).
And fast-forwarding to the MP era, I've always found it incomprehensible that you, who seem so intelligent and knowledgable about business, would believe that MP was anything other than the same kind of charlatan as his predecessors.
Almost as incomprehensible as the fact that you (as you've said) contributed as a pp investor.
I'm all for giving the benefit of the doubt, but surely you would have engaged MP is some direct dialogue somewhere along the way and felt, as inet put it, that you didn't like what you saw -- that all was "not quite right." If you didn't do that, how can you say you did thorough DD?
I'm not trying to attack you, jennifur, or back you into a corner. But I think you'll have to agree that many posters have painted a very ugly picture, even after the loch daze, that even you couldn't ignore. "Ambiguity" and "nothing indicative"? How can you say that?
In any case, it'll soon be behind everyone. Hopefully some lessons, most of them expensive, learned.
The Second Commandment:
"Lie like a rug. Especially when putting together a pp document. There will always be fools who will accept your figures as gospel."
Interesting, crow ...
"I have come to believe that he was the brains behind the LOCH scam ...."
I wonder if ~kidd would have any comment about that. But he's prolly out on the links today.
I guess it's just a cowinkydink that Dennis Harris was a Bible thumper and so is malcbaby, both claiming divine guidance and sometimes intervention ... that malc took a pre-employment holiday at a religious retreat somewhere down in South America, no doubt climbing a mountain to get The 10 Commandments of Running a Scam written down on stone tablets. The first commandment was clearly "Diversify, and if at first you don't succeed, diversify again and regularly tell the yearning masses 'We tried, we really really tried but it was God's will that we failed.'" I wonder if the higher courts would buy that and show leniency.
Does anyone spot just a little hypocrisy here?
"... I personally do not want any gain or even recovery of my investment, if such comes on the backs of innocent victims through deceit or false information, even if that is the standard for penny stock investing."
and
"I was in a penny stock in 1999,that advertised great promise, and invested a thousand bucks. ... the price skyrocketed to high of $49. a share. I cleared $38 grand out of it ..."
I guess it takes all sorts to "make a market."
The extradition treaty[5] between the United States and Brazil was signed on January 13, 1961, with a protocol[6] being signed on June 18, 1062 [sic]; both entered into force on December 17, 1964. The treaty contains a laundry list of offenses for which extradition can be had, including such crimes as malicious wounding, bigamy, arson, piracy, malicious destruction of infrastructure, counterfeiting, embezzlement, larceny, fraud, bribery, bankruptcy fraud, drug trafficking, and smuggling, among many others.[7] Extradition, however, will not occur—even if the crime allegedly committed is an enumerated offense—in the following circumstances:
when the requested State is competent to prosecute the individual and it intends to exercise its own jurisdiction accordingly;
when the individual is already being prosecuted by the requested State;
when the prosecution is barred by the statute of limitations;
when the individual would have to appear before an extraordinary tribunal or court in the requesting State;
when the crime is purely military; or
when the crime is of a political character.[8]
Furthermore, according to the protocol to the treaty, neither country is obliged to extradite its own nationals, but the executive authority may elect to do so, so long as the requested State’s Constitution or laws do not prohibit it.[9]
http://www.internationalextraditionblog.com/labels/laundry-list.html
Unfortunately, sounds a little loose in implementation.
Honest to pete ...
This board ("and others" - tm the SEC) read like the libretto for a farcical 3-penny opera. Oh the shark has pretty teeth, dear, and he keeps them out of sight ...
There were and still are villains. There were and still are accomplices who made/are making out like bandits along with the villains. There are opportunistic hangers-on who developed a high morality only after they'd made their killing. (There was, as a matter of fact, talk of an actual killing way back when.) There are comic jesters who interject their deep and probing questions, plus links to irrelevant research, in silly attempts to divert attention. And now there's a hint -- just of a hint -- of a lawsuit/class action suit. WOW! How long did THAT take? Only about 6 or 7 years.
It is to laugh!
What isn't to laugh is that the SEC, FBI and various other 3-letter agencies didn't do something long before now. They were "introduced" to this company almost by accident, and when they cracked open one door it led into a room with four others and so on exponentially. And that of course begs the question: Why didn't the authorities do anything, when they were in possession of so much information?
Blkhoc had a thought or two about that and I think he just might have been right. For anyone who doesn't remember, he decided on his own to look into things, while he was still in Germany and before he got sick. He was ex-FBI and CIA and had some old pals still in both, pals who would have been honest with him, and they told him, in effect, "there are things you don't want to know." He took the hint and looked no further.
What does that tell us?
That this is prolly very much biggernabreadbasket. Will the truth ever be revealed? I doubt it. Instead, an inconsequential penny stock scam will fade into oblivion.
Don't you think that's his very game? To irritate?
After all, he never "engages" -- just runs away when he's asked questions -- even about things he himveryownself has posted.
Where's rotten these days?
He wouldn't let some of the gems here and elsewhere go by without commenting, if he'd read them.
Maybe he's on a deep sea diving adventure.
paige ...
anything you'd like to contribute to today's discussion of the tech (what it can and can't do) plus malcbaby and his high-ground morality/integrity?
This is the "man" leading your company (again). Are you pleased with his renewed stewardship? Would you hire him to sweep the floor of your shop or take phone calls from your potential customers?
Gosh ... do you think drumbah might just be right, that this sounds like a scam?
"When Malcolm was handling the 2 for 1 and 3 for 1 stock buybacks for LOCH... "
What year was that, ~kidd?
... strange how posts keep getting deleted
~kidd ...
maybe you should take some lessons from daBIGguy ... didn't he used to brag about his "game"?
That was his one and only post, wasn't it?
You and arloco need to talk, xeno ... she's not a fan.
Did you know no dandelions are allowed on any lawns up there?
btb (tm lori) K used to be a client of mine. I can say I actually ran the company, but I'd never be so foolish as to put that in a statement, or even off-handed remark, to shareholders of my current company, if I had a current company. Someone might check it out and find I was lying through my teeth.
Diddy ...
That was just to show scared that yes, malcbaby = p4316, but it showed so much more.
Whether or not someone likes or dislikes Liviu's religious zeal is immaterial.
He cut to the chase with malcbaby and malcbaby wasn't up to it. Except to those who would defend him to the death, despite his lies and "professional" history (running all those companies 'n all, donchagno).
scared ...
http://tinyurl.com/2go8g8
xeno ... there's been a request for archived posts elsewhere ... can you help? Not just excerpts a la capnwow, the entire posts.
Doubt he could do that, drumbah ...
managing large and small organizations is clearly malcspeak for project-managing certain aspects of client work for W&S. Until he was let go, that is.
capndagood seems to be on a tear tonight.
When he's finished, someone plz to 'splain what he's trying to determine.
Danke.
As a matter of fact, 240 ...
she was one of the first to spot some "accounting anamolies" in earlier loch fiings, when they were still filing -- she and chimp. (remember him?)
240Z ... I think arloco already has and she's given you some insight.
Just to put a finer point on it ...
why would anyone believe "the opinion of [loch/cdex] management" now or in the distant or recent past?
IncroyAB'luh.
Yes, a wunnerfully nice guy, ourveryown capndagood.
drumbah ... when did he have a chance to "run major companies" (even into the ground)? Wasn't be a busy hot shot lawyer during most of his "career", until he "left" W&S for a "better opportunity" and took over from daBeez?
That's what I said ... not as blatant.
Besides, Blair evidently had fried his brain with booze, so he crumbled under the klieg (kleig?) lights.
But malcbaby got direction from God (he said) so all is good.
btw, please pay attention to drumbah ... I'm worried about him ... it's all about HIM and no one's acknowledging that!
That was some movie ... never read the book and didn't know there were sequels. Chilling.
xeno ... [edit below]
OK, let's count the lies:
(1) Malcbaby got his UNDERGRAD degree from Wespoin, he got his masters engineering degree from IOWA STATE. He does NOT have a masters engineering from Wes Poynt.
Just like the renowned "Dr" Henry Blair's lies about his education, except not quite as blatant. (Blair didn't have any degrees at all.)
It must be a prerequisite for working with Loch/Cdex*: the ability to lie with a straight face.
*[edit - work with loch/cdex as a full-time employee or as a con-sultant"]
For goodness sake; they were late for January and filed 5 days later.
They have a combination CEO, Chairman of the board and Chief and only financial officer. Give him a break.
Better to be a little late than screw up through rushing.
I'm sure he is more aware of the penalties than we are.
Thus speaketh malcbaby's eternal apologist.
Of course he's aware of the penalties! He's that SEC-savvy lawyer, isn't he?
"We tried, we really really tried.
But now we're tired, really really tired."
Whaaaaaaaaaaaaatttt????????
"Capnmike,Mark is a good person,..."
Maybe more important, crowe ...
somone could contact this lady and ask her what their marketing efforts re valimed currently are:
Marian Robinson, Vice President, Marketing
Baxa Corporation http://www.baxa.com - 800.567.2292 ext. 2157 or 303.617.2157
Has "the interview" been transcribed anywhere yet?
Don't pout, drumbah ... I'm sure they'll come 'round.
'Ola, ~kidd ...
You might not have noticed but we have our very own patent attorney here who makes regular mincemeat of anyone saying patents are the be-all, end-all and that because of them cdex is all straight and legit and gonna go ballistic (someday).
btw, no moths this year.
And what's your handicap these days?!
Why aren't you at your place of business today, paige?
And since you have free time to seek and find stuph about Canadian law firms, why aren't you using your time better, to investigate Raman and stuph? Crow even set up a thread dedicated to it, to make it easier for you.
