Introduction:

I got Ulcerative Colitis in Oct. 2006, was hospitalized for 11 days, had bloody diarrhea for weeks, lost 35 lbs. and missed 3 1/2 months of work. I was extremely weak because of blood loss, so I had a blood transfusion and my Dr. put me on Chromagen. I was on Remicade for 5 years.

Some more about me:

I am an audiophile and an amateur pianist. I lift weights, walk and try to eat a balanced diet; but raw fruits and vegetable (which I love) are problematical.

Symptoms:

Right now I have a little gas/bloating and occasional stomach acid.


Anatabloc Helped My Colitis

I was on Remicade for 5 years, but I developed a reaction and had to quit the infusions. My inflammation started coming back, but fortunately I found Anatabloc, which has helped me greatly. It’s an OTC anti-inflammatory (GNC sells it), comprised of Anatabine citrate which is found in Solanaceous plants. I started taking 6/day, and after 3 days I could feel the inflammation going away. I’ve been taking Anatabloc for 1 1/2 years, and my symptoms are greatly reduced. If I’m careful with my diet (no hot spicy food, only a little raw fruits and veggies) and take my Anatabloc, I can function pretty normally. No, I’m not “cured” of UC, and I still have problems with bloating/gas. If I eat the wrong foods I’ll get some mild diarrhea; but I live a fairly active, normal life these days, thanks to Anatabloc. I also occasionally have excess stomach acid (not reflux) and take a Prilosec. I did have a colonoscopy recently and still have some mild inflammation, though it doesn’t bother me much. Anatabloc is currently being tested on a variety of inflammatory illnesses, including an ongoing Human Alzheimers trial, a Human CRP level trial, a Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis human trial and testing on animals for MS, Traumatic brain injury, and Ulcerative Colitis.

As of now, I only see my Doctor once a year; she is very skeptical regarding Anatabloc, even though I’ve told her it helped me. Peer reviewed articles will be appearing soon on the recently completed Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis human test and the Human CRP test.

As of now, UC has forced me to change my diet; I used to devour raw fruits and vegetables; I ate a banana every day, and a big salad for lunch every day. Even with anatabloc, I’ve had to cut back a lot on these; I can have a banana 2-3 times per week, and a small salad on the side with a meal. My favorite food was Indian food, Extra HOT! Of course I can’t do that any more, but I do eat mild indian food, maybe once a month now.

It turns out that Inflammatory bowel problems run in the family; my sister was diagnosed with UC 2 years ago, and my Dad has IBS. My grandmother had some sort of bowel disorder, but it was never diagnosed.

I’m most concerned about the long term effects of UC, that I might have to have my Colon removed or I might get colon cancer.

Interesting find. The key is naturopathic doctors. Over 2,000 in Canada and same in USA. They connect the dots. Wonder if Dr. Prato has connected the dots back to Anatabloc? Imagine 4,000 + naturopathic doctors recommending Anatabloc to their patients? How may of their patients have thyroid problems? Crohn's, IBS, etc etc etc.

I am updating a previous review after one year.

I am 62 so I HAD a lot of inflammation issues going on in my body before I began taking nutraceutical supplement Anatabloc on August 4, 2012.

It takes approximately 90 days to receive full benefits of Anatabloc. I now realize that anti-inflammatory Anatabloc is fighting over 60 years of inflammation in my body. That is a tall task !!

The benefits are so amazing and life changing. Overall a general feeling of better health. Also the feeling of being years younger…..as explained below.

My Health Benefits

I have been on Anatabloc for a little over a year now. Dosage is very very important.

Do not cut corners. People on Anatabloc for short period may not have been on proper dosage (read this last sentence again) and may have not had beneficial results.

Important to take throughout the day. Best every couple of hours. I treat them as mints. Last dose should be at bedtime.

Benefits to date (realize that Anatabloc is all about body inflammation and it is obvious that mine had a lot).

Anatabloc works on inflammation in my body from head to toe. I am on no medications. In the past I was on statins and blood pressure medication (both with side effects). No need for that now. See number 10 below.

1)During the first eight days of taking Anatabloc my gums were killing me. I now realize that my gums had a lot of inflammation and they feel awesome today. Dentists take note of this.

2) Breathing a whole lot better.

4) Anatabine (main component in Anatabloc) is a mood enhancer and natural antidepressant and I am definitely feeling that--feel like million $$$$. I am 62 but feel twenty years younger !!

Anatabloc has a safe monoamine oxidase inhibitor, or MAOI. MAOIs are antidepressants that aid in focusing and task accomplishment. 8) One of the greatest benefits has been exercise recovery while taking Anatabloc. This has been a huge surprise benefit. No matter how hard I exercise I have no pain and recover immediately. It is so great. I have had so much energy that I purchased a treadmill and began running. It feels great.

9) Anatabloc seems to clear all "brain" fog. My thought processes are crystal clear with no problems. Anatabine is being tested for Alzheimer's and dementia.

10) I had blood work at the end of ten months. I have previously been on statins but had major side effect problems. My C-reactive protein (CRP marker for inflammation) was 1.23 mg/L which is good. My cholesterol and triglycerides were good. Liver was perfect. Blood pressure of 112/69.

11) The final health benefit is that I believe my eyesight has improved. However I need to be tested to verify.

The only negative is that one must take Anatabloc day in and day out. Cannot miss day. They are suppose to come out with a time release form that many will like.

They have no idea that it is anatabine and not nicotine. Plus the anatabine in smoking a cigarette lasts 2 hours in the bloodstream. Tne anatabine in anatabloc lasts 12 hours in the bloodstream. Huge difference !!

Has anyone told you about Anatabloc? It is a nutraceutical has an anti-inflammatory called anatabine in it that is also in tobacco. Some animal studies have shown it can ameliorate certain colon problems. My doctor told me about it.

They have yet to connect the dots to anatabine.....and that it is not necessary to smoke.

I am a 61 year old female with UC. it did not manifest itself completely until 10 years after I quit smoking, at age 40. I had been having mild symptoms for those 10 years but always attributed it to bad food or hemorrhoids. Finally I was so sick and lost over 25 lbs. Time to see the Dr. I was treated with lots of prednisone which in the process created many more physcial problems for me. Finally my GI told me I needed to have the surgery and remove my colon. I wasn't ready mentally for that and started doing more research into alternatives to surgery. To my surprise I found that nicotine may help. I first tried the gum, then the patches and neither of those put me into remission. Finally I picked up a cigarette. I began smoking and within a week I was in remission. I have not had an attack, AT ALL, in over six years. My husbands brother had colon cancer and a colostomy. As much as my husband hates smoking he said he'd buy my cigarettes for as long as they worked so I wouldn't have to have the surgery. My GI, PC, Rheumetologist and Gyno physicians all know I smoke and why. Every one of them have agreed the quality of life is so much more important than the quantity. Anyone with UC understands the quality of life diminishes when you are experiencing flare-ups. My only regret is that this is not made public because of the stigmatism associated with smoking. I was tired of explaining why I smoke and therefore do not explain it any longer. However the negative comments and disgusted looks continue. Oh well, I'm sure if these people were in my shoes they may be smoking as well. Someday we'll find a treatment and call all quit but until then...if you got 'em, smoke 'em!

People who have Crohn's or IBS are smoking normal cigarettes to get a fix on their disease. They still do not get that it is anatabine they really need. They will not listen.... These people try ecigs and get little help.

I am a 65 year old male with severe Heart disease and Parkinson’s disease. I am on Liptor now augmented by Anatabloc. I have been able to reduce my Lipitor-semivastin by 1/2 (reducing the painfull sideffects) and still maintain a healthy HDL/LDL blood level. I have also learned that smokers with Parkinson’ s are extremly rare. This would imply that something in tabacco smoke maintains the brains ability to produce dopamine; low dopamine levels are systematic with the onset of Parkinsons. I have been on medication to increase my dopamine levels for over two years. It is typical, in this kind of treatment, that the medicine begins to loose its benefit as soon as you begin taking it. The Anatibine has maintained the effectiveness of the dopamine enhancing drug and stalled my symtoms. I express only a slight head bobble in an exciting tv program or movie and with medicine I am symtom free 99% of the time.

The most dramatic improvement has been in my short term memory. I am no longer leaving my cell phone on the counter when I leave in my car or walking over to the pantry to get something only to forget what it was. I have tried to tell them it is the anatabine in cigarettes that is helping them and to try Anatabloc. So they would welcome a e-cig with anatabine. Young people in clubs like to smoke e-cigs. Why not have anatabine in them?


The other thing is that a cigarette puts approximately 2 hours of anatabine into your bloodstream. One anatabloc 12 hours. So if I am taking 6-12 Anatabloc a day and I smoke a cigarette or several I will not get a anatabine boost from smoking cigarette (s). This is because of the "self limiting" MAOI. When peole say I am going to smoke a cigarette to "calm" down they are really talking about the anatabine. The "self limiting" MAOI is different for each individual. If I take 100 Anatabloc it will have zero MAOI impact on me.

They are the rave now. Can you imagine a e-cig with anatabine being on TV commerical?????????? Patrick Cox called it "SIMPLY EXTRAORDINARY" A JV would kickstart Star. E-cigs are the rage and one with anatabine would be on top.

Thank you. If he was trying a prototype that means someone was close to considering. November 2012. This would have a profound impact on Star if a joint venture happened whereby Star was providing anatabine.

NJ That is a good interview but people get so hung up with tobacco ties that they lose sight of everything else. That interview is old. I just wish we had 2013 equivalent of that interview without tobacco ties. Why has not anyone interviewed Dr. Dale Wilson in 2013? How about Dr. Ladensen? How about Dr. Mullan?
