I know what you mean...our A/C is cranking so it's nice and cool downstairs but upstairs it's at least 10 or 20 degrees hotter than down here.
Deb has EIGHT of them in there LOL I did a head count after everyone was in the tub and settled and there was 8 of them. Poor things.
Live and learn.
One of the big beefs that I just snipped has the bottom starting to get rotten. So I snipped everybody that even looked a little pink...we'll see what they taste like in a few days I guess.
It's pretty gross. Thankfully I'm on a riding mower but still...it flings everywhere.
Well you know me well enough now to know I didn't pay any attention to when I was supposed to plant LOL It was nice outside...I had some energy and I went for it.
Where is that energy now...Shew!
Hi G! You know I haven't seen any skunks around here. I'm sure they're here somewhere though.
I can't be mean...I have to respect my elders LOL (plus Terri would kill me if I was mean to her sister.)
Right. I'd rather throw HER out there with IT!
Why aren't you in your pool lady?
You're laughing but I'm serious LOLOL! Right down to the shuffle when she...well...shuffles around the house LOL!
And the opossems...who knows what they eat when they're hungry. I just want her to knock it off...it's horrible to go cut the grass and run over a pile of old food.
Once I read what Trax said about the calcium...I crushed up a couple of tablets and put them in water to dissolve and watered the maters with it. That might have been what stopped the rot...only the first two maters on both plants had that rotten stuff on the bottom.
I sliced it and dipped it in Ranch dressing. Half of it anyway...it was good. NOT as good as last years cukes but it was better than any store bought one.
My neighbor told me her dad has already had a lot of squash and tomatoes (don't know what type) and cukes and a few other things....he only lives 5 or 10 minutes away from us too.
I'll check again how big they're supposed to be and only snip the largest ones. There's a couple that are sort of big...just not as big as I thought they were supposed to be. Of course I can never remember how big they're supposed to be without looking at the little spike thing. I would forget my own name if Kamryn didn't say it every 12 seconds so who knows.
Welcome to my world LOLOL Glad you're enjoying yourself!
Oh Janice it's sooooooo not funny when you live here LOLOL! She's a 60's burnout and that fact is evident every single day.
You should have seen the look she gave me when I said that. She actually thought about it for a second.
I swear if she dressed different she'd be the female version of Ozzie.
I don't think the bunnies like old potato salad do they? When I say rotten food...I mean anything that goes bad (of hers) she throws out there. And she doesn't get to moving around and doing anything until after the sun goes down either LOL. Most of the time she won't even feed the poor birds until 10 o'clock at night. There's still seed in the feeders in the mornings...but it's never full so something knocks it out of the feeder or eats it or something.
She's weird.
They still feel pretty firm...at least the one (only one right now) that's out there now is still kind of firm. I'm going to go snip it in a little bit.
My big beef tomatoes aren't big at all. A few of them are getting there...but I'd rather have them small than mushy and gross...so I'm going to snip a few of them as well when I go out there.
LOL Poor squirrel...they have to eat too! How is the vacation going??
I read sunflowers attract 'the bugs that shall not be named' LOL So I stay away from them. Of course Dr. Doolittle lets the seed she feeds the birds with grow and grow.
I told her one time NOT to take handfuls of it and throw it out in the middle of the yard because it was growing weeds. She argued that it couldn't grow weeds because it was bird seed. I asked what she thought it was going to grow...birds?
Some people.
That sounds better than Olive Oil. She's not the brightest bulb. She keeps throwing rotten food outside 'for the rabbits' I keep telling her to stop that she's only attracting Raccoons and other unsavory things. But I might as well be talking to the rotten food.
I'll keep that in mind for next year. Thanks Pal
The heat index says 110°+ I've been drinking water all day even though I'm not too hot in here. I spent about 20 minutes outside a little while ago and when I came in I looked like I had taken a shower with my clothes on. Disgusting is about right.
I want to the try the purple ones just because they're pretty LOL
I'm still having a problem with mushy Romas...not sure what to do?!? They LOOK fine...and while they're green they're nice and firm. I'm going to clip a few off this evening that are still green and and firm and see if they ripen firm.
Agreed! (Gail it's the tv show called 'Falling Skies')
I think so too! I think it might be Ben (I think that's the right son??) because the 'red eyed' alien said something to him when he and Jimmy were 'hunting'. And then a little later they had a moment if I remember right.
Great show I hope they stay on for a while!
It's 103° here right now according to the Weather Ch.
Excellent!! I'll be out there with the snippers as soon as I can do so without breaking out in a sweat just from opening the door.
OH MY GOD IT's HOT!!!!
Lucky you! I'm staying in the A/C today. It's starting to get a little toasty out there.
It was a fake story about David Spade so I'm going to delete it...sorry about that guys!
Could be
Claudia (Terri's sister) decided to put Olive Oil on the pole she hangs her bird feeders on...so the squirrels would slip and not be able to hang on. It worked...but now today she had to take down the finch sock because the squirrels were hanging on it for dear life LOLOL!
And who puts expensive Olive Oil outside on a pole? Geeeeze...get some cheap vegetable oil or something.
I wish I had paid attention to what kind I grew last year...we had cukes coming out of our ears LOL!
Relax and take care of yourself bud...see you later
Hmmm. I'm going to have to keep a close eye on them.
Glad she's doing ok (so to speak). And she's a lucky woman to have you
So far I haven't seen anything eat the stuff from my garden except for that wasp...there's a chipmunk that runs through there all the time (with Sassy in hot pursuit!) but he hasn't been munching on anything as far as I can tell.
My cukes aren't doing anywhere near what they did last year. I don't know if it's the bucket or what.
No sprinkler but I do wet the leaves a little when I water. I just read tomatoes don't like their leaves wet.
I'll water with Kam's little watering can from now on. It's just enough for the bucket and has a spout to get in under the leaves.
Thanks! I think you're right. That's what I thought it was (by Googling and reading stuff) but I wanted to be sure.
Wow. I hope everything is ok for him. Scary.
You're welcome. And please...just 'dj' or Deb will do
Would you expect anything less from me? hehehe
