Yes it continues to grow at a good clip. There has to be an exit strategy at some point. Why else would MD keep bothering to build the user base? It really makes no sense that this is merely his pet hobby site.

If MD doesn't opt to ultimately 'mine' the existing user base; I can see some alternate scenarios where competitors could have an interest and make hypster.com part of their 'collective' if you will.

If these competitors have developed a more-viable business model where their respective Web site is generating $$$$ metrics per user then a demand for buyout should increase--with a focus on grabbing our user base and deriving dollars.

I won't dispute any of your respective observations and opinions. However, I think there is generally a lack of vision in the wider industry--in regards to monetization. hypster.com is certainly no exception especially when the issue is besetting Twitter and other large gorillas of the industry.

I've had some experience working in the film industry and I think it's the equivalent of making a good to even great film but then not not marketing/exploiting it.

There are multiple streams of income that are not being utilized--there is a user base approaching 3.1 million that is not being exploited. As I said in a recent post, how many people would object to receiving a monthly or bi-monthly email from hypster.com; which could include special offers in order to achieve something like the below:

Get 12.00 per year out of 33% of hypster.com user base and that 12,000,000 could open up any number of new doors.

I don't think it's about 'giving up' I think its about effort and we're still waiting...

I think it's likely that hypster.com is 'in the mix' in some fashion or at the very least can find some benefit. hypster.com is no unproven small-fry with over 3,050,000 + user base.

This is not to say that our user base has been exploited adequately in any shape or form. Anyone with an account received an email from hypster.com lately?!

Nor would it seem likely that hypster.com is a main driver unless Mike has been on a cutting-edge with Facebook that we are all unaware of as of 9-20-2011. That would explain this extended 'quiet period.'

I must admit that reading some of the 'advance copy' about Facebook last night reminded me very much of vision/goals seen here from BUNM in the distant past---just a coincidence; we'll just have to see.

For whatever reason(s) Mike has been content to grow the property without any bold moves but of course this apparent 'strategy' could change at any moment.

As for the attempt to sell the domain name--it could be precipitated by a number of factors which I believe are not related to 'the sky is falling.'

I personally see the listing as an attempt to ascertain interest for the property overall aka. an excuse for potential buyers in digital media/music to make inquiry. It certainly created a stir here at our rather (sleepy) of late forum.

Alternately the domain episode shows that the user base could be transferred to any number of domain names for a re-branding (fresh start) strategy to be implemented.

I totally concur with your desire to hear some good news and would more than welcome it as well (of course!!) I'm sure there are at least 236 additional parties who would agree.

It would be fair to say that overall market opinion is that this is a .0001 stock. Notice the emphasis on opinion. It seems fair to say that market opinion is no perfect science.

Those who are so convinced of the utter worthlessness of this stock cannot look beyond PPS and see that the site is growing at a very impressive clip. The real 10,000,000 + question is the growth resulting in exponential increase in profitability and interest levels for Buyout.

Being that we simply don't know enough here--the .0001 may be completely justified or may prove to be grossly non-reflective of a real value.

For whatever reason(s) CEO/Management team are content with this situation. Majority of shareholders are understandably not so content.

Meanwhile, hypster.com is growing by nearly 100,000 users approximately every 30 days.

IMO this property is being grown with a destination in-mind. 3,000,000 users is only 45-60 days away; so hopefully things do become more-interesting at that juncture.

September 2011 may be 'more of the same' or could it hold some surprises??
