Please stop, you are making my head hurt.
A reverse 10:1 split at $.50 means that for every 10 shares you get 1 share. It also means that the initial share price will be 10 times greater or $5.00 a share. That means for the time of the split you will have the same money but only 10% of the shares and each share would be worth 10 times more.
So if you had today 10,000 shares and the share price was $.50 that would be $5000.00.
Once the split happened then you would have 1000 shares and the share price would be $5.00 and that would still be $5000.00.
If it is true that the directors' numbers of shares will remain the same their share value will be 10 times greater. They will all be instant millionaires without any effort. Bad Idea for shareholders who are not eligible. Really bad idea. It will disconnect their performance to their gain. Why work hard once the shares are sold you can sell out, drop out and retire anywhere and do anything.
Honestly who would continue to work if you could choose not to? I'm retired and I'd turn down any wage to get back into the harness. Maybe the guy who worries about his legacy. "John Smith built that buggy whip business right there" - Oh wow!! Who gives a flip.
Heck, if anybody wants shares at a $1.00 - I got them - at least until it's worth more
Kinda like that paper you sign to set up a bank account when you give the bank the right to lend your money. Kinda like the right you gave this board to delete your posts. Kinda like the right you give to your home owners insurance to 'raid' your escrow account.
Folks you already gave the broker your permission when you signed up for an account.
Who doesn't have a margin account? The best way to buy stock is with other peoples money.
What a laugh. I guess it's an urban mith that somebody is more than likely using your money in your checking account right now.
The stock that you own is either in certificates or in eletrons. The electrons are used by the brokers.
Haven't been here long enough to answer that question but I thought it was an interesting concept. Sure would piss of some folks that are constantly screwing around with short sales and dropping the stock price for no good reason. That is what happen 10 years ago with short selling in the Big Boards. Lots of folks lost a ton of money due to shorting. Happens in the OTC all the time to individual stocks. It doesn't take much to trash a small startup's stock from shorting it back to the stone age. But then thieves are everywhere these days.
One of the smartest men I ever knew used to say,
"Folks that try to get something for nothing are always welcomed by the folks that are willing to give them nothing for something."
I would love to give the short sellers 'Nothing' for their 'Something'
Monday, I'm going to start taking my shares off the brokers books by selling them with a limit. I'll set it at $1.00/share I can always update it or move it easily as needed.
From What I've read, just like a bank can lend your money out to anybody so can a broker lend shares out to short. That is where the shares are borrowed to short a stock come from.
Once you buy shares they are held by a broker. The only way they are your shares only is if you get the stock certificates.
Thought some folks would like to read this. We could do this just once and maybe stop the BS from shorts in the morning and early afternoon hours. Something to think of 'Longs'.
Q.: What can you do to prevent your shares holdings from being shorted?
A: Now what can the average personal investor do to stop their own shares being shorted, as believe me your own broker, if approached, WILL sell your own shares that they hold on your behalf as a nominee account.
All you do is to phone your broker and put an order in saying that you wish to place your shares for sale at, for arguments sake, double today’s price. As they are 'on order' they cannot be lent out by your broker and in turn you are reducing the amount of 'free shares' out there that can be used for shorting purposes. And don't forget to move your limit order up when the price starts to recover, then, that way your shares can't be shorted - not much but helps :D.
Although an individual personal investor will not normally have enough shares to halt a concerted shorting attack, if a large number of holders did this it would reduce the overall amount of shares that they could get their hands on.
In my opinion well worth doing if not only for the knowledge that your own shares cannot and will not be used in a short attack against the very share that you own.
Yep, the doper will hestitate and the perp will get away.
The drunk will shoot a bystander, a dog walking by, and himself but the perp will get away.
I'd prefer the doper.
Talk about boring days. The lack of volume is worrisome, a bit.
Nobody knows what the financials will reveal.
I'm hoping for the best, expecting more middle of the road.
Definitely better than negative excitement.
Adios until Monday.
Derek needs to have a killer report out for this Quarter if it is as
I suspect. Middling.
While reading the hype the doom and gloom nutcakes put out remember the last financials. Keep your eye on the ball. Watch for increased value and growth. Debt used to increase value and grow the companies is fine if it makes sense.
If Derek decides the company needs a yacht or a Cessna Citation then I'm gone.
If he decides to pre-load emerging markets with grow operations or buy real estate for future dispensaries, (like in Florida), I'd applaud the forethought. The only problem with growth is growing to quick to sustain. Does not seem to be a trait of our CEO.
41% revenue growth year-over-year for full year 2015 - WOW
44% revenue growth quarter-over-quarter for Q4 2015 - WOW
And debt was reduced to $917,000 from $4.62 Million - WOW
Heck 917,000, your local businesses probably have more debt and they are doing just fine. You gotta spend money to make money.
Groupie's are all here must be to announce the beginning of the day sell-a-thon.
Well looking at the contract they signed my guess would be billing. 5 day turn around is way to fast. Should have been 15 - 30 days. Large corps go up to 120 days.
Going to Ft Myers area for the forth of July. I'll buy some.
The CEO of Terra Tech, Derek Peterson
Never happen until the company is uplisted.
I agree completely. I'm just worried with all the uproar about the financials many are being setup for disappointment and an accompanying share drop. I'm wondering how to play that day. I'll be listening to what DP says about the Qtr very closely.
Would be great to get brought out some day.
If you do invest in a penny stock please realize it's very risky. Look at today, the price for a share varied 3 cents. that's around 7% and that is a normal day. Would not take to many days at a -7% to lose most of one's investment. Most stocks on the NYSE or NASDAQ would not vary that much without a good reason. In the pennys on days like today with low volume there is absolutely no reason for these swings but they did happen.
On the flip side it would not take many days at +7% to make some serious returns.
I'd agree with you if you were talking about 99% of these stocks. But TRTC's value has increased because of BLUM and improved financials the 4th Qtr of 2105. Edible Garden is gaining ground and new dispensaries are being built out. A stocks price should reflect the value of the company both real and perceived. The financials will probably be at least as good as 4th Qtr's maybe a bit better.
My perception is that the 1st Qtr will impress a few folks and disappoint a bunch. Folks that are expecting the revenues to be a 'blow out' will be disappointed because expansion costs money. Sounds like more folks are leaning toward a 'Blow Out'. I hope I'm wrong but I honestly see just the same or a little better than 4 Qtr.
I'm not looking at what you see as 'pumping', I'm looking at the obvious emergence of a multi-billion sector in our economy and where I might participate in it's growth and build profits. TRTC is the choice I made. I have not found one better although I do own some MO because I do believe the big Cig folks will participate once it is legal federally.
Volume light, no news, Blah day. Ya'll have fun I'm going to the beach. Hope the day works out well.
Well, time to pack you bags because the USA runs the largest deficit in the world and the debt is not much better. Companies that grow their business using debt are fine by me.
Yep, did the same thing when TRTC was in the high 20's. sold some and brought it back in the low .30's - So do not feel bad.
I still try to anticipate a bit. I take profit now and then and buy more shares at a lower cost. It works more than it doesn't for now but as soon as the volume picks up or major news hits I'm strictly hold. Mary was saying the financials will be out the 13th so that week is a hold for me.
Thanks, thought it was the 15th. I'm thinking it will be a little better than 4th Qtr 2015 but not as 'Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious' as many folks think.
It may be more revenue with more costs. I doubt we are positive yet. I doubt that will come until next year or the year after. We may actually see a drop after the release of the results if the rhetoric isn't 'optimistic' or energetic enough.
MY WAG - the price will fall to ..41-42 right off the get go, start rebound by 10:30, drop again at 14:00 and pop at 15:45.
Any news or large volume the bets off.
Seems to do this everyday with light volume and little news. Don't know why. I understand drifting just don't understand the timing consistency.
I really believe we will be between .40-.48 from now until the 15/16 May.
He was saying it looked like a stairway down. In fact it's been a stairway up. I got no problems with traders. Just seems like a waste of effort with this stock. Miss one jump and you lost what you made.
I'll stay long.
What a laugh!! Your monitor is obviously upside down.
Still cheap. Very Cheap. Earnings right around the corner. BUMP!! DEA certain to drop MMJ to schedule II drug at the most. BUMP!! Election almost certainly will be more inclined to stop "War on Drugs" BUMP BUMP BAM!!! To the Moon, Alice! Done deal.
Rah Rah Rah,
I'll bet on the earnings.
You are welcome to not.
I'll Bet on the DEA.
You are welcome to not.
I'll bet on the election.
You are welcome to not.
I'll bet on DP Plan.
You are welcome to not.
Give me a Edible Gardens, Give me a MMJ clinic, Give me a IVXX,
and then give me some $.
And you are welcome to not.
Just don't whine and moan and groan about it.
Pretty sure it's mostly day traders. I can not imagine a better stock to trade for a few bucks a day. I even tried it for a couple of trades and it worked out for free extra shares. If I wasn't already all in with what I can risk then I think trading is what anyone should try until more volume comes our way.
Wonder who thought .395 was a great sell point. Now that is amazing!
I think you are right. The legal part of the business (for now) is a very timely business. My whole family of 4 generations are looking for healthy, organic food.
I think the most under publicized part of the entire organization is the mobile hydroponics gardening which will bring a whole new approach to "fresh" whether it's pot or super lettuce. It's the 'Amazon' Part of TRTC. It's a way to bring farm grown clean produce right to anyone's door regardless if you live in Iowa or in the Bronx or even in Death Valley.
Now that was funny. Laughed a belly laugh. - thanks for the vision. I think you captured the moment perfectly.
Terra Tech is doing what it needs to do while betting on DEA's capitulation. Growing basil can be changed into growing MJ for medical or/and rec. use
You are worried about what you put in your body?
What a laugh. You must be thinking of the 1970's and earlier. Ronny boy did away with regulation in every industry and it's been such a big hit with industry it's made it's way into Big Pharma. I just saw a commercial that told me I'd get clearer skin while only having to worry about increased susceptibility to TB and a host of other deadly diseases. Wow what a bargain!!!. In 1970 that product would have never been allowed to be produced.
There is no regulation. Just like there are no real restaurant standards, no real product safety standards, and no real engineering standards that used to allow us to make the best products are now being outsourced to countrys like Italy where there is no additional safety standard built in.
When we agree to import products we import product deficiencies, poor quality standards, lower wages, less safety, and more injuries and deaths. And all this so we can buy s shirt at half the cost in 1970 dollars at Walmart while the guy who checks me out gets paid less than 1.75/hr in 1970 dollars.
It is the day of the "Snake Oil" salesmen my friend, wrong is only when you get caught, morals are what I inflict on you, and regulation doesn't even apply in our bathroom habits anymore.
Things Change.
I remember when GM dealers gave away Honda's if you purchased a car.
Detroit is now a shadow of it's former glory and Honda is selling cars hand over fist.
There are major companies buying web pages worth nothing for the catchy name.
How one gets a foot in the door doesn't matter as much as what you do when there.
Bounce off of 38, a gaggle of ups and downs until 33Opm amd a close at .40
Love the way the folks talking Armageddon appear just in time for the bulk of the morning sales. What a laugh.
He is using the legal end of the business, Edible Gardens to get into areas early to be ready for MMJ's leagalization and eventually MJ rec.
Smart Guy.
Interesting. I honestly hope the company is more mature than 2014. But nothing wrong with consolidating between improvements as long as it stays in between the fences.
Terra Tech stopped at the support level. Volume was there with both up and down moves not only down. If anything, tomorrow will be a little better maybe .42 again. Nothing is gonna change until there is something to change it. Next real news is 15 May's financials.
Sadly, I assume you know what IMHO stands for? You should drop the 'H' and go with IMO because one of the worst things any person can know about himself is that 'H' is not something that describes him.
Drive by garbage from the ZooMan
Where Zoomy gets his insight? From failed positions! What a laugh.
What's amazing his tune has not changed in 2 years!!.
Sorry Zoom Dude but after two years this qualifies as "Stalking" and is Zoomystic laughable. You know, a laugh so huge you have to check your shorts and your socks.
So says the Zoomy dude,
"I had invested in TR*C back in 2014, it is MOMO stock with boat load of dilution. It is tradable pump n dump junk. I won't touch it ever as an investment. I see that going nowhere with more and more dilution hitting the market and making market crappy ridiculous with current revenue and future projection. The DP guy is greedy, he wants to be king of MJ and using shareholder money to dilute them into hell :)..he is PR machine in real time..sort of reality media of MJ. It is a flipper stock with zero credibility, MOMO money. The insiders are filing and dumping like crazy...LOL, just pump n dump rallies..that's all, not an investment grade stock with so much dilution"
I like the odds also. I'm long TRTC.
But the low volume allows for anyone to manipulate the day who has the shares to do it. It's a risk. Lots of "irrational exuberance" using all caps and old news, trying so hard to get something going helps fool some poor folks.
If nothing happens around 2-2:30pm that will be a first. I won't be here for the tail end Charlie move today I'll just assume it will almost get us back to .42 - not quite but almost.
Looks like it's settling in at .39, the afternoon drop will drag it to below .38 for a bit then back to .39 until tail end Charlie appears on the horizon and drag us to almost to the starting point or maybe even a little above at the close just to keep folks coming back for more.
