TCNH Technest Holdings Inc. Subsidiary Genex Technologies Inc., Successfully Developed and Demonstrated a Working Prototype for a Missile Detection and Tracking System called the OmniSeeker
PrimeZone Media Network - March 10, 2006 8:00 AM (EDT)
By Staff
BOSTON, Mar 10, 2006 (PRIMEZONE via COMTEX) -- Technest Holdings, Inc. (www.technestholdings.com) (OTCBB:TCNH), a defense and homeland security company transforming advanced laboratory technology into real-world products, announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary -- Genex Technologies Inc. (www.genextech.com) -- has successfully developed and demonstrated a working prototype for a missile detection and tracking system called the OmniSeeker.
Dr. Joe Mackin, President of Technest Holdings, Inc. stated, "We believe that the OmniSeeker has the potential to become a critical part of our Nation's internal defense system." The OmniSeeker development was sponsored through a Phase II SBIR program for the Missile Defense Agency and the Naval Air Warfare Center. The OmniSeeker, once installed on a missile defense system, will provide the intelligent thermal imaging capability to search and lock in on any incoming missile targets. The OmniSeeker will then relay the accurate data needed to destroy these targets.
The Company believes that OmniSeeker may be an important addition to the country's defense arsenal because it was designed to overcome a number of the limitations that conventional optical sensors have. In order to be truly effective, anti-missile systems need to be able to detect missiles from far away and from any direction. Conventional optical sensors have only a single field of view (FOV) setting which forces sensors to capture object images through a very small viewing angle. The traditional design limits a sensor's ability to search for targets in a wide area and track the missile target reliably. The OmniSeeker was created to surmount those difficulties. It has two different FOV settings. When utilizing the wide FOV setting, the OmniSeeker can search targets coming from a wide area. When utilizing the narrow FOV setting, the OmniSeeker can track and lock in on any detected missile targets. The OmniSeeker has been successful at detecting missiles more than ten miles away during test exercises.
Technest Holdings had fiscal six month sales revenues of $37.3M for the period July 1, 2005 through December 31, 2005 and corporate funded backlog as of January 31, 2006 of $48.45M.

Mymetics to Present Earlier-Stage Preclinical Results This Month at the Annual AIDS Keystone Meeting in Colorado
NYON, Switzerland, March 10, 2006 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Mymetics Corporation (OTC: MYMX) announced today that the National Institutes of Health (NIH) has agreed to initiate testing of the Company's proprietary HIV-AIDS mucosal prophylactic vaccine candidate. The preclinical study will test Mymetics' vaccine in a non-human primate model. This study will take place in parallel to Mymetics' ongoing preclinical trial in another primate model. Mymetics' study was recently initiated in collaboration with the Cochin Institute (Paris, France), the Institute of Laboratory Animal Science of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and the Faculty of Laboratory Animal Sciences of the Peking Union Medical College in Beijing (Republic of China).
Mymetics also announced that the Company will present results of an earlier-stage preclinical study at the Keystone HIV Vaccines symposium being held from March 27 - April 2 in Keystone, Colorado. In this earlier study, Mymetics' vaccine elicited antibodies in the blood and other important anatomical compartments, such as internal mucosal surfaces, considered to be primary HIV entry sites. The mucosal antibodies showed high potency in vitro at inhibiting transcytosis of laboratory and primary HIV viruses from different HIV clades (strains), including those prevalent in Western countries and in Africa and parts of Asia. The Company will announce detailed results during the Keystone meeting.
Dr. Sylvain Fleury, Ph.D., Mymetics' Chief Scientific Officer, commented, "We are extremely pleased that the NIH, an acknowledged world leader in supporting various vaccine research programs, has agreed to initiate their own preclinical study, qualifying our latest vaccine candidate as 'very promising [and worthy of] a thorough evaluation.' In the Company's concurrent trials, we will seek to confirm the results of the previous preclinical study demonstrating production of high levels of antibodies. If successful, we will then conduct a challenge study to determine the ability of these antibodies to protect against HIV in the primate models."
Dr. Fleury continued, "The first results of the primate trials can be expected by the first quarter of 2007. Pending positive findings, we will then proceed to file with the FDA to begin pilot human clinical testing."
Mymetics' HIV-AIDS prophylactic vaccine candidate program combines the Company's HIV-1 gp41-based immunogen expertise with virosome technology developed by Pevion Biotech AG (Switzerland), a spin-off from Berna AG and Bachem AG. Virosome-based vaccines are market-approved, stable lipidic structures that act as carriers for peptides or proteins toward which an immune protection is desired. Virosomes have a high safety profile with few side effects and have already been distributed by Pevion Biotech AG and administered to millions of people around the world.
ABOUT MYMETICS
Mymetics' research teams have made a series of important discoveries about how the body's immune system responds to HIV-1 (Human Immunodeficiency Virus type 1, the virus causing human AIDS).
Our key discovery is a fundamental though subtle three-dimensional mimicry between the viral envelope glycoprotein gp41 of HIV-1 and the IL-2 cytokine (Interleukin-2) of the infected host. IL-2 is one of the most important messengers of the immune system. IL-2 helps to coordinate the immune response, in addition to being crucial for the generation of new T cells. This molecular mimicry between gp41 and IL-2 forms the basis of the company's platform technology.
By understanding the precise dynamics of the virus's gp41 and the host's IL-2, Mymetics has been able to engineer gp41-derived antigens (proteins and peptides) capable of eliciting antibodies with strong potential for preventing infection by primary HIV-1 strains from various clades.
Mymetics has also designed specific therapeutic molecules which have the potential to prevent and/or delay the disease. Equally important, these findings can be applied to other retroviruses-related diseases that involve similar mimicries, including certain oncoviruses often associated with human leukemia.
Mymetics believes that successful protection against HIV-1 resides in the development of vaccines that will combine both cellular & humoral responses. However, to induce such protective responses, Mymetics strongly believes that it is crucial to prevent the potential induction of cross-reactivity toward self-proteins (ex. IL-2) after HIV vaccination for generating a good and long- lasting immune protection against HIV-1.
Mymetics proposes an innovative vaccine by combining three important concepts:
1- Minimal mimicry, which consists to remove in part or entirely the human homologies naturally present in some HIV proteins that serve as vaccine component. To achieve that objective, Mymetics intends to use the smallest engineered viral antigen sequence for limiting homologies with human proteins. Furthermore, it is easier to remove human homologies into a small viral protein because of their limited distribution. Our approach should significantly reduce the risk of developing potential autoimmunity on a long- term basis following vaccination;
2- Focused immune response on relevant gp41 epitopes that may induce protective antibodies. Mymetics is developing vaccines that contain antigens expressing limited immunodominant regions, while immunodistractive regions have been removed or altered without affecting the immunogenicity of the antigen;
3- Induction of mucosal and blood protection in different anatomical compartments. Induction of mucosal antibodies (anti-transcytosis) should block the early event of HIV translocation at the genito-reproductive and intestine tracts, thus preventing HIV entry and spreading in the body, while blood (systemic) antibodies will act on a later event that consists to prevent the infection of target cells (neutralizing antibodies).
Mymetics pioneered an innovative efficient research strategy. Instead of incurring high fixed costs to maintain its own staff and research facilities, Mymetics organizes and manages a network of public and private best-in-class research teams, each of which has its own unique focus, while retaining all intellectual property rights on the joint research results.
Mymetics was founded in 1990 near Lyon, France and was registered as a US (Delaware) public company in 2000. Since August 2003, its operations and research programs have been managed out of Switzerland (Nyon, near Geneva).

ORLANDO, FL -- (MARKET WIRE) -- Mar 10, 2006 -- Hat Trick Beverage (OTC: HKBV) subsidiary C.E.D. Entertainment Distribution, an independent distributor of Music, Video, Movies and DVD, announced yesterday that it has signed an exclusive distribution deal with Eight76 Records with the release of Reggae artists from Jamaica.
C.E.D. Entertainment President/CEO Steve Lane states, "I'm pleased to have signed Eight76 Records, as they steadily have records charting."
The first release will be "Retrorespeck," a compilation CD of various artists from Jamaica Including Marcia Griffiths, Chrisinti and Yahbreeze, just to name a few. The growing catalog includes the latest sounds from Marcia Griffiths, Luciano, Mikey General, Jack Radics, and George Nooks.
Eight76 is quickly becoming the hottest calling card in the Caribbean!
The official "brand name" of All Arc Enterprises was founded in 2002 as an outlet for the performing, production, and writing talents at All Arc Productions. Kenroy "YahBreeze" Archibald wanted a name that reflected the content of the music without limiting the brand to one form of reggae. Says Breeze, "We want everybody to know where the music is coming from spiritually, historically, and actually. Just like when you see the 876 area code you know the call is coming from Jamaica. Whether we are doing dancehall, soul, ska, or traditional reggae, our roots, our foundation is always Jamaica."
ABOUT EIGHT76 RECORDS
Born and raised in Manchester Jamaica, YahBreeze started out as a recording artist and has written and performed a list of hits like "Red Eye," "Jezebel," "No Night," and "Rasta-For-I" for a variety of producers in Jamaica. He recorded the bulk of those records for the legendary Tuff Gong label in Kingston where he met his wife and partner, Myshjua Archibald who was Tuff Gong's A & R Manager. Realizing that they shared a common love and vision for the music of Jamaica, the two founded All Arc Enterprises in 1996. "Our mission is to develop talent and create projects rooted in a mutual respect and love for the music of our childhood reggae, soul, and hip-hop," says Myshjua. "There is a wealth of talent in Jamaica that deserves to be nourished and brought to the international forefront of POP culture."
2004 was a phenomenal debut year for Eight76 Records. Their first three albums were well received by both critics and fans. The label achieved its first Top 20 hit on New York's Reggae Singles Chart (Pam Hall's Brokenhearted Melody which peaked at #2) and first Top 10 CD on South Florida's Reggae Albums Chart (the various artists compilation RETRORESPECK). The success of the Skasmatic rhythm helped to launch the career of FYAH BLAZE, a hot young deejay signed to the label. Truths & Rights, the title track from his forthcoming debut album, entered the South Florida Reggae Top Twenty just as Eight76 Records was ringing in 2005 at its first annual holiday party, The Sorrel Ball.
The keyword for 2005 is EXPANSION as the hot young newcomers seek to build on their early success. The first two quarters of the New Year will bring debut albums from in-house rising stars, Fyah Blaze and Evette, and popular Kings of Kings artist, Chrisinti. 2006's release schedule also includes compilations featuring new music from Turbulence, Professor Nuts, Dahweh Congo, Prezident Brown, and more. From dancehall to lover's rock we offer something for every kind of reggae lover. Eight76 is definitely on the RISE!

Patriot Scientific Corporation Announces Second Cash Stock Dividend in Less Than a Month; Annual Meeting and New Offices Also Announced
Business Wire - March 09, 2006 09:19
SAN DIEGO, Mar 09, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Patriot Scientific Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: PTSC.OB) today announced that it will issue yet another cash dividend for shareholders and qualified warrant holders of record as of March 31, 2006. This dramatic announcement follows closely on the heels of last month's announcement of the Company's first dividend payable on March 22, 2006. Patriot's earlier dividend was $0.02 per share - the new dividend is planned to be $0.04 per share.
The Company has been advised that it will likely receive the distribution of its share of the proceeds from recently announced patent portfolio license transactions by the end of March. Those transactions, announced within the past month, involved the Company's jointly owned Moore Microprocessor Patent(TM) (MMP) Portfolio having been successfully licensed - through its marketing alliance with The TPL Group's Alliacense division - to Casio Computer Co. Ltd. and Fujitsu Limited.
The Company expects to pay the dividend in late April, with the exact date to be determined and announced. Final information as to the number of shareholders and outstanding shares will be provided by the Company's transfer agent as of the record date, but based upon current information and estimates the Company will set aside funds of approximately $15 million for payment of the dividend when distribution of its share of licensing proceeds is received.
"I am delighted to speak on behalf of the Board of Directors in announcing this planned dividend, which will be double the amount of the previously declared dividend," said Patriot Scientific's Chairman and CEO, David H. Pohl. "The timing and amount of the payment to dividend recipients is subject, of course, to the Company actually receiving our expected share of the proceeds from the licensing transactions," Pohl continued.
"This second dividend announcement in less than a month - something extremely rare in the world of microcap stocks - is yet a further important step toward evidencing the faith and belief of the Board of Directors and management of Patriot Scientific in the Company's current financial strength and future potential," said Pohl. "We are pleased to be able to continue rewarding loyal shareholders with this additional, and even more significant dividend." The Company strongly believes that more licensing transactions and related revenues are likely, although none are assured. As in the instance of announcing this increased dividend, Patriot Scientific's Board of Directors will continue to consider and decide whether to take such dividend payment actions in the future, based on future revenues and the financial condition of the Company, as well as market conditions and other factors.
Annual Meeting
The Company has scheduled the corporation's Annual Meeting for April 28, 2006 to be held in Carlsbad California. The site and time of the annual meeting will be announced at a later date. Patriot Scientific will mail a proxy statement to shareholders near the end of March indicating proposals upon which shareholders will be asked to vote.
New Offices
Patriot Scientific also announced it has relocated its offices to Carlsbad, California at 6183 Paseo Del Norte, Suite 180, Carlsbad, CA 92011.
