TF, What do you think of the shares at this price? Large number outstanding but some real potential value in El Cairo and the four brothers copper property eh?
Bill O'neil of Investors buisness daily is a guy I see on a regular basis on the weight floor at a local gym. He taught me one thing in the mid eighties that really stayed with me. Never average down. I've kept this as a hard and fast rule. Granted there were plenty of times when I should have.
I think based on what I now know about the trhee properties in this complex, that you are going to be fine on this one.
Today I spoke with the other guy involved with the exploration team responsible for the revaluaion of the Rodeo deposit and the discovery of Canplat's Yerba Buena. His interpretation of the published drill results on Rodeo are that they are typical of a low sulphide epithermal system and that in similar cases more that two hundred holes have been drilled to prove out an economic deposit. I have not bought shares in this company yet but intend to if the market cap drops much more.
It would not seem possible to paste text from a pdf wimdow with the software we are using at present. Posting the link is probably the best you can do unless you can convert to html. I continue to think this company has the potential to lead in any resumption of an uptrend in the sector.
That is, I believe, the inherent weakness in reverse circulation drill results. Remember when CDU reported on two holes, the stock dropped to .60, and people who should have known better were calling it a good short. I really regret not buying at that point for a few reasons. Seems like CPQ anf LRR both dropped the same amount on some critical analysis of very preliminaryt results. Rodeo in particular cannot be evaluated on what's been seen today.
Please define the best point of entry in your opinion. Iwant to pick up a full load.
Goes to show that it all depends on what level you are buying and holding from. If one is not that greedy in regard to paper profits it makes it easier to let those profits run. Looks like droopy is forming an interesting pattern here. Kind of a sagging flag formation.
That's one of many that got away from me last summer. I'm such a tight wad that I can't force myself to chase em and wind up leaving piles of money on the table. Seems like the sharp explorers operating in the frozen north are going to be big potential winners in the next few years. My plan has been to try to pick em up cheap and hold through all the termoil even going into the red on some. My only mistakes have been sales in the last two years. Plenty of omisions in not pulling the trigger though.
Have you ever accessed your trading accounts from one of these fee for service internet terminals in a foreign country? I'm being told that there is not a problem if you log off correctly but I'm not that confident. It's kind of funny how the bulk of my junior explorers hold up in price, grudingly giving up 2 or 3 cents on really negative market swings.
I don't think the south west coast was ever effected to any degree. One would have to wonder about Arugam Bay on the East coast which is the switch off spot to the south west around April when it goes flat at Midigama. I probably would'nt recognize the place now. I was in Madras two years ago and it had turned into a night mare.
That was after the war broke out, I was there for several months immediately prior to the whole thing. I stayed in Midigama across from two coral reef breaks for 89 cents a day all inclusive. Thats the new name for Wildcat. This is the last week to decide.
Yup in 1983. Not much actual surf in Sri Lnka but one of the most unique societies I've experieced. Buddhism pervades the native singahlese culture. To change the subject slightly, do you have an opinion on Eric Charters new venture Shield Gold?
I have'nt been up to Puerto standards since my mid thirties. Probably one of the toughest beach breaks on earth and backside for me. I face the wave going right. Next trip is to Timor then Java in May.
Nothing earth shattering. The news has obviously been in the market for a while now and drill results must still come in. The deposit bordering San Augustine goes by the old name El Cairo and is now being refered to as Castillo. Apparently both were misevaluated years ago with St Augustine showing huge results on the recent round of drilling at depth. El Cairo now belongs to Morgain Minerals MGM-v which explains Chester Millar coming on board and buying a lot of shares in the open market. This one is a long termer but that being said if St Augustine pans out on a par with the Apex operation, MGM represents an undervalued situation in spite of the number of shares out. Kind of like CPQ. Looks like this junior market is headed into at best a long flat spot.
I just talked with one of the guys involved with the original surface work on the project that CPQ is drilling now. To date the drilling has'nt reached the depths neccessary to make a fair assement in his opinion. If they hit what he thinks might be down there, his feeling is that the current market cap is still reasonable. These guys also work with SSRI and the St Augustine property came up. The last drill results apparently indicate a resource large enough to match the premere Apex project in terms total production with a lot less capital out lay. There is an adjoining claim by a micro cap that I'm going to try to dig up some information on presently.
Want to check to see if you are following KG recently. Looks to be pulling out of a long base on volume. I've got to go back through a lot of my Mining Insight copies and see what else is awakening. Seeing youe addition of SRU on the Nunavut thread got me thinking about this. What's next AKV for pete's sake.
Thanks for posting this article. I am particularly heartened to see Metalica acting in this fashion. Some of the stories of PDG's responsibility to workers in South Africa fall into a similar category.
Sure looks that way. I taiked with the presideat of WTZ to ask what he knew about the company and he had nothing conclusive. Just some history about the Great Lakes claims. The number of years operating accounts for the large number of shares outstanding. Did you pick up those references to Robert Middleton? Apparently founded Canplats and is now exploration director for EWR and CGG. It's astounding how many millions are being made daily in this so far stealth ( as far as the financial community is concerned ) bull metals market.
I gota kick myself for not seeing this one sooner. How much more vertical price action can it do? Volume on GYD still looking strong.
How do you interpret this kind of volume with very little price movement? In the past I've seen the price accelerate after this kind of signal, sometimes not. It's interesting that volume is beginning to decrease now. Along with GQ this one bears close observation.
Unusually high volume showing on Zenda today with a slight upward price bias. Also it looks like Grayd may be trying to work to the downside; may give me the initiative to correct my omission and average up.
That IVN chart is an eye opener ain't it?
Unfortunately it's one I have not followed but I think you are definitely on the right track with NPG. I followed it during the lows and lost track when I saw Tice unload the entire position in BEARX. Turns out to have been one heck of an oportunity. I really like to buy at those dead lows and hold on.
Looking things over, it would sem that NAU is a solid speculation. Odd that the price did not move on the drill results release. You would'nt know what they have in the treasury by chance? When I see Minmet in on the Swedish project, I have to think there is a better than average chance.
Hard to believe I'm seeing green on SR right after my entry and in this enviornment. Not much and not much volume but it's in the right direction. What else is on your list, if you would not mind sharing?
Right after the proposed merger news I read an analysis that this thing was headed from 4 to below 3. Like most comments from short term trading wizards, I took it with a grain of salt. Turned out to be right on. I did'nt even bother to try to digest the argument. Now with this NR we can see we have Angloplats as a partner on the mechanical end of these two tract operations. Combine this with an infered 66 million oz platinum resouce attributed to ARQ. After whatever elapsed time is appropriate to wait for the maturation of the merger process, this thing has got to start heading for 8.00. I'm not adept enough to time any of this which is why I hold.
Dan, This thing is a monster, My inability to force my self to average up will prove to be the largest amount of money I've ever let go by. I've known about the discovery for three years and it has kept expanding at a regular since.
Jay Chen is our role model. House on a sub tropical beach, regular circulation of attractive women, satellite downlink with a bloomberg terminal. Except as Duvall said, Jay don't surf.
Not socialy, although I've met a lot of investment legends. It's not that tough as they are public figures. I like Jim and I like travel as much as he does but if I had his where with all, I'd be surfing isolated reefs in the tuomotus much of the time.
You know if it were'nt for the falciparum malaria risk, I'd like to hit the ground over there and check the possibilities in person in conjunction with some surf exploration. I've talked with Jim Rogers about the place and he states unequivocaly that it's one of the best places on earth for investment opportunity.
What do you guys think of GQ's potential here? The recent early results, the low market cap, the proximity to the Nevasun operation all would point to a big oportunity unrecognized. Is there something lurking in the background like questionable management?
Looking at the board above, I'm left asking the question, what is going on with Coronation minerals?
Looks like the share price is calming down and preparing to go to sleep for a while. I'm in here. Could probably time a much sharper entry point but the potential is great enough not to risk an out of hand surge and be left in the dust. That said this is still probably only for those among us with the patience to wait things out.
No joke, he just bought another one of my long term holds. Now I'm going to start paying attention. Just don't want to get overly enthusiastic.
What a classic triangle on this one. Looks like it's going to go one way or the other soon.
That's alot of volume for the price range traded. I can never figure some of these things out. Off topic MAI is getting a big lift off now on completely out of range volume. On this one it's virtually all buying. Must be some news but I have'nt seen it.
I suffer from the same mind set over and over. At least I did get in CBR at .54 seeing that GFI had entered the picture. I'm going to hold that position for a long time.
Looking more like the higher number. The Guiana Sheild is the nastiest enviornment on earth to try to engage a mining operation or a drill program for that matter. I was a holder of GSR prior to the discovery of Omai and Gros Rosabel. Made a lot of money for a lot of people. The tougher the envionment the greater the chance of a huge strike.
Indeed, maybe a 100,000 or 250,000 share block being leaked slowly. Obviously .48 is a shelf. It's posible I still have time to observe price action. Still kicking myself over an inadequate share purchase on GYD.
What stoped me was sloth. I'd been watching it drift for an indefinite period and would have acted on reading TF's timely post below. On the other hand a few I did pull the trigger on are breaking out- ORM looks ready to get above resistance and GYD might be setting up for who knows what. Really regretting not buying 4x more than I did on that one.
