I would make the trip too. Have a great time. I envy you:)

CROX 3.16 is up 38% today. A monthly chart wouldn't take so here is the daily. It was an #80 stock two years ago. Earnings due on May 7?

TLEO 14.37 up 14% It appears to have met NASDAQ listing requirements by reporting earnings for 2 qtrs. It also received a buy from Wedbush Morgan.

WHOOPEEE!!! I won't be banned:)
msgi, I didn't do very well that day either. I would have picked COT but I'm holding some EEI and it looks like it could have a chance.
A must add: EEI is extremely thin and I have only a small position because it is so illiquid.
Thank you ico on BKG. Obviously I should have checked further. Much appreciated:)
msgi, I almost picked COT. Good luck with your choice. Well, limited good luck. LOL
Tanker BEAT is down 11% today on volume. It seems overpriced with a p/e of 53
Barb: I noticed the strength today after, what I think has been a weak few days, but didn't realize so many are green. TSL, nice bo today.
Thanks for the mention.
BKC land. I'm looking at it for a swing but passed because of it reporting on Monday. I still may take a very small position and hold it through earnings.

Haven't played BKC trading at 17.35 but have been aware of its move. Earnings scheduled after the close on Monday.

Oh no ... not again?
Because it is important ... yes, we are going to look at the Volatility Index again today.
During the past week, we had mentioned that: "The VIX has been through a huge, 7 1/2 month triangular pattern. It appeared to have a downside breakout (which would have been positive for the market), but instead ... it went down to its previous 33.76 support and bounced up.
The bounce then moved up to the triangle's upper resistance once again and this created a "triangle extension". - Note that the extension is being formed by the old triangle's upper resistance, and the bottom is being formed by the January/April low. That extends the VIX's apex into early May and delays a true VIX breakout. At the close last Friday, the VIX remained within its triangular extension."
Today: At the close yesterday, the VIX remained in a triangular extension. During the week, it broke to the upside twice and fell back within the triangle at the close. Yesterday, the VIX remained inside the triangular pattern. (Don't forget that the VIX moves opposite to the stock market.)
The VIX is now getting very close to the apex. As it approaches the apex, the converging resistance and support creates a "squeeze" from which the VIX will break out of. When that break out occurs, it should have a dramatic impact on the market.
POT 91.09 up 4.60 is looking like it might bo. Needs volume to become interesting but watching.

ot ad: Maybe Souter goes drinking and hunting with Dick Cheney?
source: Justice Souter retiring
By MARK SHERMAN and JENNIFER LOVEN, AP
WASHINGTON — Justice David Souter is planning to retire after nearly two decades on the Supreme Court, giving President Barack Obama his first chance to fill a vacancy on the high court.
The White House has been told that Souter will retire in June, when the court finishes its work for the summer, a source familiar with his plans said Thursday night. He almost certainly would remain on the bench until a successor is confirmed.
The source spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak for Souter.
Souter had no comment Thursday night, a Supreme Court spokeswoman said.
Souter's retirement is unlikely to alter the ideological balance on the closely divided court because Obama is certain to replace the liberal-leaning justice with someone with similar views.
But the vacancy could lead to another woman on the bench to join Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, currently the court's only woman.
At 69, Souter is much younger than either Ginsburg, 76, or Justice John Paul Stevens, 89, the other two liberal justices whose names have been mentioned as possible retirees. Yet those justices have given no indication they intend to retire soon and Ginsburg said she plans to serve into her 80s despite her recent surgery for pancreatic cancer.
Souter, a regular jogger, is thought to be in excellent health.
Interest groups immediately began gearing up for what could be a grueling battle over a high court vacancy.
"We're looking for President Obama to choose an eminently qualified candidate who is committed to the core constitutional values, who is committed to justice for all and not just a few," said Nan Aron, president of the liberal Alliance for Justice.
Some of the names that have been circulating include recently confirmed Solicitor General Elena Kagan; U.S. Appeals Court Judges Sonya Sotomayor, Kim McLane Wardlaw, Sandra Lea Lynch and Diane Pamela Wood; and Leah Ward Sears, chief justice of the Georgia Supreme Court. Men who have been mentioned as potential nominees include Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick, Harvard Law professor Cass Sunstein and U.S. District Judge Ruben Castillo of Chicago.
The Obama White House began from almost its first days in office preparing for the possibility of a retirement by thinking about and vetting potential high court nominees. Those efforts only accelerated with Ginsburg's cancer surgery.
The timing may have been unexpected, but Souter has long yearned for a life outside Washington.
He has never made any secret of his dislike for the capital, once telling acquaintances he had "the world's best job in the world's worst city." When the court finishes its work for the summer, he quickly departs for his beloved New Hampshire.
He has been on the court since 1990, when he was an obscure federal appeals court judge until President George H.W. Bush tapped him for the Supreme Court.
Bush White House aide John Sununu, the former conservative governor of New Hampshire, hailed his choice as a "home run." And early in his time in Washington, Souter was called a moderate conservative.
But he soon joined in a ruling reaffirming woman's right to an abortion, a decision from 1992 that remains still perhaps his most noted work on the court.
Souter became a reliable liberal vote on the court and was one of the four dissenters in the 2000 decision in Bush v. Gore that sealed the presidential election for George W. Bush.
Yet as Souter biographer Tinsley Yarbrough noted, "he doesn't take extreme positions." Indeed, in June, Souter sided with Exxon Mobil Corp. and broke with his liberal colleagues in slashing the punitive damages the company owed Alaskan victims of the Exxon Valdez oil spill.
Souter is the court's 105th justice, only its sixth bachelor. He works seven days a week through most of the court's October-to-July terms, a pace that he says leaves time for little else. He told an audience this year that he undergoes "an annual intellectual lobotomy" each fall.
Souter earned his bachelor's and law degrees from Harvard sandwiched around a stay at Oxford University as a Rhodes scholar.
He became New Hampshire's attorney general in 1976 and became a state court judge two years later. By 1990, he was on the federal appeals court in Boston for only a few months when Bush picked him to replace Justice William Brennan on the Supreme Court.
National Public Radio first reported Souter's plans Thursday night.

Associated Press writer Jesse J. Holland contributed to this report.
(This version CORRECTS that Souter has been on the court nearly two decades, but not more than 19 years.)

Me too on F ico. I bought it in March but only held for a day or two and was stopped out. That purchase doesn't count when a stock triples in less than two months.
I suspect that it is still good for a longer term hold if it has a decent pullback. I think I would be a buyer in the $4 area given decent market conditions.
F 5.84 0.39 Don't think any of us jumped on this one. I almost did but didn't pull the trigger. That doesn't count for anything other than a bout of depression.
Thanks early. Not quite though. I would have had at least one more double with the 2xer's. Haven't looked for a while.
No complaint intended. They were too easy.
Although, I vote for allowing one 2xer a day. Right Griff? LOL
Gapper QTM 1.01 down 0.30. In with a much smaller position and with a tight stop.
Thanks ico. I hadn't even looked and am a little surprised. Obviously not in.
Now off to check the news.
FSLR now at 187.90 about 24% They regularly beat earnings, they regularly beat earnings, they----sheez
QTM 0.94 down 0.37 should have been my tanker pick. Stopped out for about a 0.14 loss on the entire position.
I had enough shares to be feeling some pain. Another lesson about being very careful when purchasing junk.

Oops bale. I should have looked at this post before being a wise ass. Sorry:(
ot 12B: Our spending has slowed down, we are certainly aware of the economy, and a little nervous about inflation down the road.
However, our life stye changes seem to be due to the aging process.
We don't live frugally, but we do live quietly and that hasn't changed.
SQNM bale, you didn't say long or short:)
Funny ali. Just for fun I'll give you a straight answer.
Up at 4:30. On the golf course a very few minutes after six. Walked 18 holes rapidly because we were the first group out.
Did have a beer and a sandwich at the 19th hole. Came home and checked the market and wrote a pm. Took about an hour nap in my chair. Talked to my wife for a few minutes and sat down here until the market close.
Ate lunch and met my sister for a workout. Went a little over 5 miles on the treadmill in an hour. Changed my shirt and worked on the weights for 45 minutes.
Drove home and arrived about 10 minutes before the Obama press conference. Showered quickly and made some popcorn and poured a beer and we watched most of the press conference.
Looked at mail and left to have dinner with friends. Ate and sat at the table and talked for a little over an hour after eating. (The restaurant wasn't busy.) Oh, did have a glass of wine with dinner.
One or two drinks more than usual.
Now, been home for 50 minutes and I'm going to shut down and go watch the recording American Idol.
Then to bed.
LOL Right, not a normal day by any means.
But, I never drink on the golf course. Unfortunately I'm not that good:)
bale: Right on the article assumptions but the charts pass the reasonability test.
The stock market and the economy can be at different altitudes for reasonably long periods of time, with the market being more volatile and having larger swings than does the economy.
The lesson to me is, as you inferred, that there can and usually are bull markets in a recession or depression. The 266%? bull market from the summer of 1932 until it ended in 1937 is the classic example.
While your posted article states that investors got there money back in about 7 years my memory is that the economy did not recover to 1929 levels until 1942.
The 1929 market was based on "irrational expectations" as was the 2007 market and both had irrational selling. Based on that one has to expect rallies.
