Yeah, the Marine Corps just got double scary :)
Speaking of which, I kinda stopped following the latest regs since 2003. Do they allow women in combat units now? There was a debate about it a while ago.
I'm with Etrade, and I bought a while ago. Gonna try Prodigy Trading, they say that broker doesn't have such restrictions.
This was the last nail:
"Your loving daughter,
Tammy Gail"
I'm at 144%. Pity I didn't buy more, but I didn't want to throw more money at something I can't even trade online. Still stand by my decision, despite the nice profit.
Avalon Expands Oil Recovery Technology Portfolio
MINNEAPOLIS, Mar 05, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Avalon Oil & Gas, Inc., (Avalon)
(AOGN) (FWB: A3MA.F) announced today that it has signed a letter of intent to
license IMIX International, Inc.'s BIO-CAT(TM) Well and Pipeline Cleaner (BWPC)
technology. The BWPC technology(TM) is an enzyme based formulation for the
improvement and increase of the extraction of oil and other hydrocarbons from
underground reservoirs. Through this license, Avalon now holds the worldwide
exclusive rights to the BWPC technology. Included with the right to utilize the
BWPC technology is the right to sublicense, sell and resell the use of the
technology for enhanced oil recovery and hydrocarbon extraction.
Field tests have confirmed that the application of the BWPC technology on oil
wells which have shown reduced production over time has resulted in production
rate increases from 35% to over 100%. The BWPC product is a specialty enzyme
based, natural agent containing colloidal suspension with no biocide additives.
Unlike acid or other chemical solvent treatments, there are no bacteria or toxic
solvents in the BWPC product. The product is nontoxic to the environment and is
harmless to human, animal and marine life. In addition to the improved
environmental aspects of the product, the BWPC technology is significantly more
cost effective and the impact of its use is sustained for several months before
reapplication treatments are required.
Avalon is currently developing a detailed plan to test the performance of the
BWPC technology on wells in which Avalon has a controlling interest. Included
will be the collection of extensive data to confirm the results of the initial
field tests on production wells and to document and quantify the utility of the
product. Initial results are expected this year with the application of the oil
recovery technology expanding over time.
One of Avalon's strategies is to add significant shareholder value through
enhanced oil and gas recovery opportunities. In keeping with this strategy,
Avalon entered into an Exclusive License Agreement last year with Oiltek, Inc.
for Oiltek to market Avalon's portfolio of energy technologies. Oiltek acquires
and develops energy recovery and production enhancing technologies for recovering
oil from marginally producing oil wells. Kent A. Rodriguez, Avalon's CEO said,
"With the rise in crude oil prices and capital availability, this market
represents a significant opportunity to impact North American oil production."
The intellectual properties licensed by Oiltek include energy production
enhancements for paraffin wax mitigation, intelligent drilling and completion for
real-time reservoir monitoring and leak detection for hazardous gas pipelines.
The addition of the BWPC technology is a valuable expansion of Oiltek's energy
technology portfolio. Oiltek is an energy technology commercialization company
and a majority-owned subsidiary of Avalon Oil & Gas, Inc.
On December 7, 2007, Avalon announced the filing of a Form S-1 Registration
Statement with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for its
majority-owned subsidiary, Oiltek Inc., for the listing of its shares on the OTC
Bulletin Board. Avalon responded to comments received from the SEC on November
23, 2007, and re-filed the Form S-1 on February 12, 2008.
Mr. Rodriguez added "We are looking forward to the date the Oiltek S-1
Registration is effective, and expect the Company's Board of Directors to fix a
share dividend date for Avalon's shareholders very soon after the Registration
Statement is effective. We anticipate each Avalon shareholder will receive
approximately one quarter share of Oiltek, Inc., for every share of Avalon."
About Avalon Oil & Gas, Inc.

producing oil and gas properties. In addition, Avalon's technology group acquires

NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev., Mar 05, 2008 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Frontier Energy
Corporation ("Frontier" or the "Company") (Pink Sheets: FRGY) announced
completion of its lease acquisition on its Black Forest prospect, located in
Crook County, Wyoming. The company owns an undivided 25% working interest in this
property with the option to increase its working interest to 75%, based upon

barrels of oil, based upon production of surrounding properties.
In conjunction with the company's joint venture partner, Frontier is expecting to
commence drilling on the Black Forest property in the 2nd Qtr of 2008.

Yep, that's right.
I don't think it ever stopped anyone from naked shorting. Also, I wonder how it'd stop your broker from borrowing them anyway. I read Etrade's T&Cs (yeah, I'm one of those boring people who read those), and there was nothing on it, except for me consenting to their borrowing of my shares by opening an account with them.
Good morning professors, class :)
Ah, BRLC, the first play of today. Quite a nice one, too.
Puts things in perspective, doesn't it? Pity we forget such things, it makes it all too easy to encroach on those very freedoms.
"I truly believe that "SOME" of the days I spent in the "Corps", by far put to shame "ANY" of the best days spent in the market"
You're damn right! Well, except for the Corps part, never been a part of that :)
Precisely.
That's why you can't trust an online discussion board. Too much emotion, too many agendas, etc. Do your own DD and TA, don't count on others. And if you do count on others to do it for you, well, good luck, but don't blame anyone for your losses.
Doesn't look like they intend to do much about it, from this article. And a law without enforcement isn't worth the paper it's written on.
I used the first one, will try the second one now, thank you.
I believe you, I do my DD regardless. Started doing it when you guys started talking about it here.
Trying to find more info on them now. Lexis Nexis is a good tool for that :)
I guess, they just have several email accounts in that distribution group, and one of them bounced (the Yahoo one. Man, they need some IT help, else they're setting red flags by the dozen :)).
Hmm ,I like the sound of that. Their email bounced though, I guess, I'll have to call them now.
YUp, for pinks. They want you to call in for those.
I get L2 and charts as it is, as well as daytrading. I'm just sick of Etrade not trading quite a few stocks online. How's that with Prodigy?
Hmm, sounds good. My commission with Etrade is $7, and only because I trade a lot *way more than 15 round trips per month).
Indeed, not really a website. So to get their terms and conditions, one has to contact them then?
Thank you.
What's Prodigy website's address? I can't seem to find it.
Right. Not where I started selling it though :)
Yeah, but can you lose $4K in 3 seconds? Huh? Huh? :)
Hmm, I like your T-shirt idea :)
Yeah, I need to program a better verification screen. Will sacrifice some speed, but prevent some of these mistakes. Now I just need to figure out what's more profitable.
Don't give me more credit than is due, I'm only responsible for that red candle right after the green one, and it only lasted a few seconds :)
It began to fall before me.
Thank you. Oh well, it was shaping up a good day, made a thousand on BRLC and a few scraps on PIR and SNDK. Back to the drawing board.
Correction: I'm sure I can make more stupid mistakes, so ignore that 'ever' part.
Man, I just made the stupidest mistake ever. I bought 21K shares of PRFT between 7.58 and 7.68. When it was time to unload them, I pressed the wrong key combination and placed it as a market order. If you were watching it and saw that big drop after it went up to 7.83, well, that was me being fleeced. It was too late to cancel it, of course. Sold a few shares at that level, and the rest was sold around 7.40-something. I bet a bunch of people couldn't believe their luck :)
So, How To Turn A Winner Into A Loser 101.
The commission is only $7-8. So, say, you make 25% on $500, that's already $125, more than covers the two commissions. If you used more money, do the math.
As for how you make money, well, a profit is a profit, and you don't risk as much.
Hmm, somehow I doubt they could dislike us more in that region, with the local propaganda being what it has been in the past 900 years :)
Well, if he says it, it must be true, right? Otherwise, why would he say it in the first place? Or so the sentiment seems to be these days, we take everything at face value. Just wait until you hear what I just said without any sarcasm :)
Buying the ask didn't work too well, either. I put in .0045 when the ask was at .0044. It sat there for a few minutes, then went up to .0045, then ,finally, .0046 and .0047, but with no fill for me. It then came back to .0045 and filled 125K out of 600K. So, there it'll sit waiting, it seems to fill better on the way down :)
You may already have another sell order for it.
I thought, that was the idea? :)
