PDSN opinions pls?
being a tad early...but looking at this chart seems a worthy risk based on the volume Friday, the reversal Wednesday, and the 8,17,09 MACD going positive.
Again, pls. remember that I am not a sophisticate re. the many indicators in seasonality scan, but look for a bull-bear ratio, and although this one, isn't positive yet, it looks real promising.

Nice hammer on the LT chart
Has crossed the 8dayMA so it is unclear how much upside drive remains
Multi-indicator view seems quite posititive
Intraday shows nice buying spike similar to MUSE, as well as the earmarks of a capitulation bottom prior to the bounce.
Will be quite interested to watch/buy this week.
The long downtrend may not be over...
i'm musing about a retest of 200dySMA, now at 4.86 and dropping about .01/day. No guarantee that the top of the bband will be reached.
your signature duly noted

capitulation bottom on Thursday?
Institutional buying Friday afternoon at 1:30:
What is particularly impressive is that support shelf at the end of the day on Friday. It looks like someone was was on the bid buying all shares at 4.40 that were thrown at it.
I wonder if the planned sale of 3 million shares by Citigroup announced on 3/7 was taken up on Friday by another institution?

The rebound got right to the 8 dayMA, but not above. In my setup the shortterm target is about a 7% gain. MUSE is at the top of my watchlist for Monday.

Somejuan alert channlingstocksdotcom! GES
as long as i'm spouting about the power of short term stochastics: GES popped up tonite in one of my oversold scans: top half volatility, crossing 8 day MA, 5day volume in top half, stochastics crossing up from oversold
What an orderly uptrend! with price following the shortterm oscillator almost to perfection.
Excellent Aroon analysis...thx David.
i have nothing but an intuitive sense that Aroon is sort of confirming indicator rather than predictive. I'm a faithful and maybe simply ignorant slave to short term stochastics.
I recently created a scan for stocks where the 50dySMA is xing the 200dy, more for curiousity than for trading. Look at TEVA which popped up tonight as an example of the use of stochastics as a timing indicator.
TEVA reversed into an uptrend last November. There have been 4 occurrences where the short term oscillator was oversold: 11/4, 1/6, 1/26 & 2/18.
TEVA spends so little time oversold that you could buy it almost as soon as it gets there. But I typically wait until the stock makes a move up from oversold for a buy signal. I like stocks that head toward the 8 day MA rather than running through it.
Anyway, look at the nice price movement confirmations after these oversold inflections. When the oscillator moves toward overbought, retreats, then turns nicely back up, and the stock holds the 8dayMA, you can get a pretty nice pop. TEVA did this Monday.
btw, I am not long the stock, so no kudos warranted. just using this symbol for wistful study.

Ken....
your chart has only 0.8 of std deviation...leave the std. deviation at 2...so it's the 8 day MA using 2 std. deviations for the bands. I find that most moves are confined nicely with this one...
RIRI is nicely hugging the top of this band...and has support at the 8day MA...nice
here is the same chart with a 20day BB:

OPLK

WOLV: maybe moved too much
CBRX: i remember it as COB? on the Amex some time ago; also displaying bullish engulfing pattern
VTSS: already moved a lot Monday
AGRA
STTS: what will it do with that gap?
UMC flirting with 200dySMA over the last week
MSCC: also a bullish engulf on a 3 week downtrend reversal
hi ken seasonality indicators:
glad to see you've shortened up the fast stochs from 14,3 to 12,5 and now 5,3. as you may be aware my pref.is for the 432s.
now if you'll just change the BBands to 8 instead of 20 with 2std deviations to tighten things up ...
if you still key in on the 5day MA xing the 10 why use a 20 day on the BBands?
nice pick there on CDCY...wish it was more liquid.
SMSI must hold the 200dy. am waiting for a sign, but when it signals i'll probably be focussed somewhere else ...

Be aware that the market will have news to digest before the open Monday. It is unclear if anticipated results from the study are "baked in" to current levels of these issues.

I have long positions in a non-trading account of all except GDT. Demographics, new approvals for cardiac pacing, and new indications for implantable devices for other illnesses: Parkinsons, depression, bulimia, epilepsy, chronic pain management mean that the long term future is very bright for the medical device sector imo.
The rage of which company has the best stent is waaay overblown imo, but of course, the street will send winners up and losers down, so that in the short term, it may be a very playable sector for quick gains and pains.
IPIX a nice day on nice vol BUT...apology
thought this got posted last night but guess i missed the submit button.
it already crossed 8dy and moved to topof 8dy BBand
this was one thatcame up on my scan 2 days ago because it had not turned up and past 8day ma. had a nice yesterday. i posted on it to greenroom i think 2 nights ago
this was one from scan last night that had bounce characteristics
unfortunately missed today's open and the nice pop.
the amount of coiling of the bounce spring is really important to me and one reason why i use very short oscillator characteristics.

China favours EVD over DVD
By Tony Smith
Published Friday 25th February 2005 15:03 GMT
China has formally declared its Enhanced Video Disc (EVD) format the national standard for digital video discs, its Ministry of Information Industry (MII) said this week.
Work began on EVD in 1999, with funding from China's State Trade and Economic Commission and MII, with a view to creating an alternative to DVD. Crucially, EVD frees Chinese player makers from the licence fees that must be paid to make DVD-branded machines.
More to the point, perhaps, China doesn't want this part of its blooming consumer electronics industry to be in hock to overseas companies. The format will allow domestic manufacturers to "shake off their previous dependence on foreign technologies", as the Communist Party newspaper, the People's Daily, put it at the time.
Like DVD, EVD video data is compressed, but according to the format's developers, Beijing-based E-World and US digital video technology company On2, it is capable of displaying HDTV images, a feat currently not possible with the established standard.
The DVD licence fees are already the subject of a lawsuit brought by Chinese DVD player makers Wuxi Multimedia and Orient Power (Wuxi) who claim the 3C Patent Group's licensing regime limits their ability to compete effectively in the DVD player market. They say the 3C group charges Chinese manufacturers rather more than it does US-based companies. That, the plaintiffs maintain, is discriminatory, unfair and cONTrary to US antitrust law. Both companies are seeking the return of royalties paid, plus damages and a ruling that the DVD patent pool is invalid. ®

ICGE shaping up for a good swing
trendline trader's textbook case:
short term downtrend from December's highs about to be broken
intermediate term uptrend from reverse split date last May intact
support established from late October & November resistance areas...intermediate descending triangle can be drawn with apex approaching.
short term oscillator reversing now from oversold and formful re. price movements in the downtrend for 5-7 day swing trades.
nice volume day with close at hod
Chartists should be aware that ICGE is essentially a holding co. incubator for internet software startups.
Watching for followon upside buying to bust the ST downtrend.

NMRX news
was not able to reach my broker/analyst who knows NMRX intimately. NMRX is going to sit there and then one day there will be 30-40K shares accumulated and the price will be 5.20, but patience is paramount.
"The service agreement reflects a substantial expansion of Digilog's long and continuing relationship with Agilent"
The last 10-K talked about NMRX's role in the new telecom control network. I don't really understand it, but I think that the logistics management piece is new as well as their ascendance as "primary systems integrator".
I will post again when I get some idea of what extra dollars will flow to the company for these enhanced roles for Agilent.
Maybe noone else understands how NMRX helps telecom providers monitor their networks, so that this PR flew over their heads as well. There were only 2 analysts with Qs on the last conf.call, so the street is largely ignorant of everything the company is building toward.
Maybe they can announce a vending machine contract in N. America this year. Most people CAN understand that a vending route with smart machines that tell you the status of your machine: running optimally, state of its inventory, etc. using wireless Cellemetry, and how that can save you mileage, avoid out of stock situations, diagnose compressor breakdowns (product that isn't cold) et.al. can be a money saver for the vendor.
CNR 3 White Soldiers!?! sheesh 5WS!
it's no secret of course but what a chart to drool over the last 5 days:
LNDC: likely beneficiary of CQB acquisition of Fresh Express
Chiquita announced they are buying Fresh Express from Performance Food Group
Fresh Express uses Landec Intelimer packaging
Chiquita and Landec have a technology and supply agreement for ripening, consrving and extending the shelf life of bananas
Looks like CQB is integrating and Landec will be a beneficiary.
SUMU R/S
there has been a lot of chatter on RagingBull thread re. the pending reverse split. too much noise there for me to be thorough in following all the posts.
my expressed hope is a better exchange listing:
from pg.4 DEF 14C
"Currently, our common stock is listed on the OTC Bulletin Board, which is viewd by most investors as a less desirable and less liquid marketplace. A reverse stock split may give Summus the opportunity to attempt a listing on a higher quality exchange, but there can be no assurance that the reverse split will help Summus achieve this desired result."
The most exciting application on the horizon is the instant postcard (Fujifilm Mobile Postcards) which you can get a glimpse of if you watch the video from my previous post (not to downplay SI swimsuit models or WSJ mobile apps, but these target niche users). Use your phone to take a pic. and then load the image to the obverse of a postcard with downloadable software, address it, add a message & send to your friends or family. That is waaayy cooolll and can be done right on your phone. The ultimate "wish you were here" message. Having Cingular Wireless and Fujifilm as partners doesn't hurt either.

Extra-ordinary volume Friday
DYNT institutional activity it would seem
rah rah
DYNT a ray of sunshine on a gloomy day
DYNT Prez Kelvyn Cullimore Jr. has an audio interview on ceocast.com from 2/14/05. http://ceocast.com/company.cfm?cid=9836
Don't know if this had anything to do with today's price movement.
The interview highlighted the company's product line, record sales, light therapy tx. for arthritis as an alternative to Cox-2 inhibitors. Cullimore did reference Philadelphia TV stations highlighting the Solaris light therapy equipment that helped Terrell Owens get back on the field.
The company company sales are 5X the level they were 10 yrs. ago and characterized itself as a microcap but not a fledging microcap due to it's 25 year history.
I am only vaguely familiar with ceocast so I do not know what kind of consideration they received for doing the interview. It seemed pretty straight up and not pouffy.
