MacDonald Motorsports on Friday agreed to move the California STP title sponsorship to Saturday, April 26th, at Talladega Superspeedway, the largest NASCAR track, a 2.66 mile tri-oval with over 200,000 fans in attendance. The Aaron's 312 will be broadcast on ABC at 2:30 P.M. which will give the STPtools.com car greater exposure during the race.
Better Exposure this way

Re: Had anyone here heard of Smarthome before today?
Yes, I've been a recurring customer of theirs. It's a quality company, although their prices do tend to the high side for some things.
I get their catalog; I'll keep a lookout for the Comfort products to appear there.
Regards
CHDT should put out a correction
to their last press release. From the release:
STP tools will once again be the title sponsor for this race. Title sponsorship provides prominent hood and rear side panel placement of the STPtools.com logo.
I wonder what happened? Did Mahindra outbid them for the hood?
Major Associate sponsorship for STPtools.com. I guess we'll see what that means later today, if the rain lets up.
Regards
Qualifying rained out yesterday
DJ starts in position 31, based on owner points.

I know how, Lucy!
Just proclaim "Last Chance to Buy In the TWOs!!!"
That has worked in the past.

Ooooh, let's guess about the new product
I guess MP3 player.

548,745,646 shares of Common Stock outstanding as of January 18, 2008
Source: http://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/814926/000093980208000034/form13d012208wallach.htm
And now it's up to 568,329,645 shares, as of 2/20/08?
That's an increase of 19,583,999 shares. 10M of that could be the S-8 shares, issued either to insiders or consultants as a form of compensation (my own speculation says some of those shares are going to Macdonald Motorsports to pay for the sponsorship).
That still leaves about 10M new shares. Perhaps some/all of the PP share buyers have executed their options.
Dunno. Wait for the filings!
Most sites use the figure published in the 10Qs
When the 10KSB comes out, they'll update.
They're probably not counting the Fisher shares
But they should; as 10% holders, they are deemed controlling persons. If/when they drop below 10% (around 55M at present), then the rest of their shares would be considered part of the float.
Although from time to time, Bart's shares do become part of the float, he still is subject to Rule 144 provisions, my opinion.
Regards
Two other items, #1 Jeff Postal's latest Form 4 doesn't agree with the last DEF14 number (which I used in my calculations). That's a potential float adder, depending on which number is correct.
#2, 25M PP shares are coming out of restricted status, this month (6M), next month (13M), and April (6M). You should assume those shares as part of the float on those dates.
Another mixup
They have NPP as the title sponsor for the Statler 300:
81 D.J. Kennington St. Thomas, Ontario Dodge Northern Provincial Pipelines Pat MacDonald
Way, Way, Way up?
Only based on fundamentals, which we need to see in 10QSB, 10KSB filings.
Continued revenue growth, healthy margins, profitability, stable share structure.
Only that will make it go way, way, way up, sustainably.
Regards
I have no need to contact the company, Lucy
but, I have a request. Since you contact the company yourself, in the future, could you please indicate when you're sharing information provided directly by the company (and the person who provided the information) and when you are just stating your opinion.
Sometimes, I think people get confused if you're talking in a semi-official mode, or when you're just providing an investor's opinion.
Regards
I disagree, Lucy
I think the company will keep a small inventory of STP tools, not for sales to consumers, but for warranty returns, sales rep sample programs, special promo events, and the like.
They have a warehouse, although it must be small; from the last 10QSB, their total leased floorspace comes to only 4000 sqft, that includes reception, offices, conference rooms, etc.
Regards
Something must be wrong with the car
His speed is way down. Have they said anything? (Just watching Live leaderboard).
Regards
They've taken the Jumpstarters off the website
and the high powered flashlights now come with either the Eco Silicate battery or a standard sealed lead acid battery.
They've also changed many of the products to actual pictures from 3d computer generated art.
Bummer about the Jumpstarters; that was my favorite product out of all of them.
Maybe this summer they'll put it back on the site.

Live leaderboard for the Big Race

That'll do
DD posted earlier #52
out of ?53?. Almost the end of qualifying anyway.

In a related note
Residents of Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, and South Dakota still can't select their state when they go to sign up for the tools club.
Now, if they really are promotional wizards at CHDT, it would be cool to change the car in stptools.com's opening SWF to DJ Kennington's car.
Regards
Now that we can agree upon
The minimal fee paid for such huge exposure makes it a great advertising buy.
Unfortunately, there are no products in stores at this time for people to impulse buy.
The website is there, however, and should get a big upswing in page hits. If you want to judge for yourself the #81 effect, check out stptools.com web site responsiveness whenever the logo makes it on TV.
stptools.com is going to get a good load testing, I'd bet. I hope they thought of that and prepared.
Regards
Unfortunately, DJ Kennington/Macdonald Motorsports
are running in the Camping World 300, if they succeed in qualifying later today. From their practice times, it's looking very good that they will qualify.
Regards
No, DD, not the Daytona 500
The Camping World 300. I think the Daytona 500 had much better viewership.
Regards
I've been looking for TV ratings from last year's race
and found this:
The telecast of the season-opening event from Daytona International Speedway was ESPN2’s most-viewed auto racing telecast ever with 2,200,600 household impressions (2.4 rating).
http://autoracingsport.com/nascar/busch-series-tv-ratings-are-up/
Are you sure about that 10-15 million watching qualifying today, DD?
Regards
You're saying they won't have STPtools in Inventory?
Didn't CHDT just release this in an 8K?
CHDT is in the final stages of negotiating a conventional banking credit facility to finance STP® branded product production for pending orders and for inventory.
Warehouse and Inventory
From an 8K:
Webcast Q&A- 7/16/07
1.
Howard, what was the reason for the name change and symbol change?
A: The name was changed to properly reflect the fact that the focus of the company is significantly broader than trading and sourcing goods from China. We asked to retain our symbol, but NASDAQ Market operations decided against it. OTC BB companies cannot retain trading symbols, unlike NYSE and NASDAQ companies. We will now be under one roof, along with new warehouse, showroom and conference space.
In terms of Inventory, the last 10QSB showed:
The Company's inventory, which is recorded at the lower of cost (first-in, first-out) or market, consists of finished goods for resale by Capstone, totaling $433,450 at September 30, 2007 and $69,895 as of December 31, 2006.
$433K worth of inventory would be over 100K booklights. Not a lot, but they carry inventory at CHDT.
Regards
I think they have one of those Staples EASY buttons, not to worry!
Regards
I think STPtools.com gets 2 pit passes
With their sponsorship. I wonder who Howard will bring with him?
Of course, he's going to the Camping Ground 300. I hope that is near the race Saturday at the Camping World 300. ;)
Regards
DJ picks up the speed a bit
http://www.jayski.com/nationwide/2008/next/01daytona.htm#practice
Picks up a few spots during the final practice. Qualifying tomorrow. Looking good for the STPtools.com car. I think he'll make it into the race.
Regards
Practice results from Wednesday

DJ needs to get her in gear. Practices are televised today starting 9:30AM on ESPN2 I think.

Howard Hints
at more #81 sponsorship:
"We are receiving extensive promotional support from our racing team and look forward to doing more with them this year. "

Thank you for the delicious circular logic, Lucy
You ask me if I want to put a picture of the car in my signature. I say, no, it's not relevant going forward, as the decals are only temporary. You reply that it's relevant if they're visible on websites (in IHUB signatures perhaps?).
Hey, maybe Howard will buy more hood time, Maybe he's even announcing that now in his interview on wallst.net. The next three Nationwide dates (Feb 23, Mar 1 and Mar 8) have no primary sponsor listed at macdonaldmotorsports.net. Maybe Howard could cut a deal. Maybe he gets financing this week, and flush with cash, he buys out the rest of the season on old #81.
Let's see what happens.
Regards
I would agree pictures of #81
would be relevant if STPtools.com was the primary sponsor for all the races, but they are not. They are the Primary Sponsor for this one race (hood decal) and Associate Sponsor for 4 more races (rear quarter panel 12"x12" decal):
Feb 23 California Speedway
Mar 1 Las Vegas Motor Speedway
Mar 8 Atlanta Motor Speedway
Mar 15 Bristol Motor Speedway
After March 15, how are the pictures relevant?
Regards
When CHDT bought into the Best Deal in NASCAR
it cost them $15K, here is a cached copy of the page that outlines what they get for their money (the Best Deal has subsequently changed, and gone up to $25K):
http://64.233.169.104/search?sourceid=navclient-ff&ie=UTF-8&q=cache%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fwww.macdonaldmotorsports.net%2FMarketing.html
Regards
No, Lucy, for several reasons
1) After this race, the hood decal is gone, after 4 more associate races, all the decals are gone. How is the car relevant going forward? The Canadian Tire Series? I don't see Canada on your map of distribution. Not sure what that buys CHDT. Have they engaged any Canadian sales reps?
2) I'm on dial-up and hate signature pictures, for practical reasons.
3) I am not an investor in CHDO at this point.
Regards
It may show up in this list EP
http://www.wallst.net/audio/audio.asp?ticker=CHDT&id=594
wallst.net doesn't realize there has been a symbol change for CHDT.
I don't think it will be simul-cast anyway, but should be posted later this evening.
Regards
173M would be a 24% increase
in the float from September 2007. 200M would be a 43% increase from the 140M figure.
Regards
No, if Howard converts preferred to common
that changes the O/S, but not the float. But, why would he convert back to common after just converting the other way, in order to make room for some kind of share back financing?
Regards
