I respect MonestHind and his strategy but I'll bet:
1. He works from home and has 4 computer monitors up and running (Bloomberg terminals?);
2. He has a margin account with many $$$ in reserve
3. He has L2 running constantly
and last but not least
4. He is a smart human being
Am I close?
I wish I could watch the work he is doing.
Interesting. It does seem like every morning lately the same pattern occurs: opens up a little bit, the MMs take it down a little bit (shaking as some people say) then it rises through the day. hmmmmmm
Love your posts riskychick. You shoot straight from the vest; no messing around; you wear it all on your sleave. A lot better than some of the quasi-truth-tellers on this board.
Z: You know I respect you and your opinions, but:
"They should be seeking truth and justice, preserving balance, not forcing words into their witness' mouth to get support for their b.s. "
Do you REALLY think that anybody in Washington DC is seeking truth and justice?
I did a big ole LOL on that one.
Hats off to you - wish I could do the same. :(
Z: While I realize anybody could be lying at any time, I don't think you are lying - I've done tons of reading re psychology, psychiatry, etc. and liars always seem to leave "unintentional" indications of lies in their writing/talking.
You don't fit that description.
I think it's safe to say that all us longs on this board welcome your comments/suggestions/tips/DD
Trying to visualize what you'll look like without facial hair. :)
I totally understand.
right again - I get it.
Correcto mundo - that is my understanding. And I'm not interested in any more good faith violations. I never intended to get any in the first place - I play by the rules; I was an amateur then.
Thanks again.
Thanks for the info. I may just call Schwab about that.
But I've been trading for 3 years and was put on a 90-day probation at one point - lesson learned.
For instance: If I had sold some shares this morning when FNMA hit $2.43 that profit would have been "locked in" and I couldn't turn it around again for 3 days. That's my understanding of the rules in a retirement account.
Sorry - I know you are an expert but not here.
Here's the deal. Say I have $10,000 cash to trade. I can buy a stock in the morning and, yes, I can sell it anytime during the same day - but once I sell, those $$ cannot be turned around again until the 3-day settlement period. Trust me on this. I learned the hard way.
Schwab told me. I admit I DO need to learn but I can't do it with a retirement account - you know, 3-day settlement times, etc.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but with a margin account, and access to Level II, I can buy and sell all day as long as I have cash reserves in that account. Am I wrong?
I really, really envy the traders here who have margin accounts and can flip all day long. This stock is PERFECT for that strategy. I wish them well. After I retire, I plan on doing the same thing.
LOL - that's funny.
I was watching the board a lot yesterday and if anyone is interested you should find "Crawford"'s posts from yesterday afternoon. I don't know how to go "back in time" on this board and see old posts; but if anyone does, check it out. He posted a couple of things that might be of interest to all of us.
If you see this Crawford: you should repost what you did yesterday afternoon - I thought it was honest and interesting at the same time.
Care to share again?
Coincidences can be positive or negative. Let's hope positive in this case.
Same day as earnings - interesting
I've had a great weekend - until today, that is. I'm at work putting in a little overtime at my "day job".
I'm a musician (pianist) and last Friday I played a recital with some colleagues at Rutgers University in Jersey. Went well.
Good words Zargis. You & Jedediah are my "go to" people on this board.
When will Q3 earnings be released?
I still can't accept that this is the "epic run"; because FNMA is still in conservatorship; it has not been uplisted to the "big board" and earnings are 2 weeks away.
I still feel this little mini-run we're in is the MMs manipulating the PPS. I'm not complaining because I'm finally in positive territory $$$-wise. But until I see the price go above $5.64 and THEN start moving up, I don't see an "epic run".
Just my little hunches.
Zargis - good to see you chiming in on Sunday.
I'm not too disappointed. If you had told me a week ago that our new base would be around $2.00 I would have been happy. When it spiked to $2.60 some of us (me) got a little too euphoric.
I know that - but machines are "turned loose" (programmed) by human beings. I was just wondering, what's the motive for turning loose a machine which, ultimately, gives one no net profit - just playing for the fun of it?
Perhaps I'm showing how stupid i am but, if ARCA took it down by selling tons of shares and - then they took it back up by buying shares; how does that translate into making money for ARCA?

I agree with Blue on this one. I feel that this won't plummet like last May because of upcoming earnings report. Why would the market makers take it down so soon to earnings? I'm thinking it will go up today a little bit and then settle down for a few days afterward until earnings are reported. (Nov. 7?)
Just a hunch - no news/facts to back this up.
You want volume? We got volume.
Hope so - and also hope that we break away from the 5.44 high we reached last May.
Again, with no substantive news.!!!
The long hot summer appears to be over.
If this "surge" continues to hold, with NO substantive news, then what effect will the earnings report have? OR, even better, the release from conservatorship.
I put in a buy at $1.90 but the train done left the station.
Maybe there is a higher power after all. I was just released from Ihub jail (after 2 months). I'm back with my "more than one day" posting of witty comments. :)
If anyone else trades with Schwab you may notice that "streetsmart.com" has a software glitch for FNMA. It's showing the bid/ask price but NO VOLUME. I called them - they are working on it - not to worry.
Again, my one post of the day. I still don't understand why I'm still restricted to one post - it's been over two months.
Moderator: any suggestion as to what I can do?
Here we go? Where? Same ole same ole - up a few cents at the beginning of trading then it will prolly go back down a few cents by EOD. What's new?
I'm not a pessimist; I'm long - but this is the pattern for the past few weeks/months. Seems to me, it's all coming down to (1) earnings; and (2) the conservatorship issue.
I'm long - add me to the "party" list
I'm not usually a pep talker but . . .
I've been long since the big run in May and I've read most of the posts on this site, and I get the feeling that the conservatorship will end. The question is, of course, when, and how?
I won't speculate on the when but the "how" will be something like the following:
1. An announcement from our friendly lawmakers saying that c'ship will end on "next Monday"
2. The announcement will probably take place 5 minutes after a Friday's trading OR a weekend announcement of some sort. I don't think they would announce it during trading hours.
JMHO
I'm with Mikoli - this will be my ONE post for today
For this week, we should all resolve to not open, read, acknowledge, respond to any post(s) from:
1: Beambe; OR
2: Raggoz
Agree?
If the interview wasn't too long, can't we settle this little dispute by having someone type up the interview in toto, or at least the part of the interview where he allegedly said what he said and then post it on the board?
Come on man - let him alone. Just don't read 'em. Raggoz is turning out to be even more relentless than MonestHind used to be.
I wouldn't call this a "run" quite yet. Not complaining however. A run, to me, would be like last May's run - fast and furious.
I hope I'm out of the FNMA doghouse so I can post more than once - we'll see.
Realizing everyone has their own particular strategy; I'm curious to know what the strategies are if (and when) the stock actually goes back up to $5 or even more. Sell at $5.00? wait until $7.00? I guess it will depend on what KIND of news precipitates the spike.
Good info - BUT - assuming what you said is true (and I have no reason to doubt it) can FnF still be uplisted to a larger exchange (after holding $4 for a few days in a row) with the present conservator agreement/situation?
I'm in long on the commons. Does anyone think or suggest that I should sell all my commons and buy preferreds instead? That seems to be the consensus around here that the preferreds will get first dibs on any positive signs from the government.
I Welcome comments, although I can't "recomment" because of my 1-day-only post restrictions (still don't know why)
