This is why I was against SA from the beginning: They probably have spreadsheet data that is all over the place: episodes could range from 9 to 500 episodes per night, depending upon their physical issues. Chances are Ampakines coupled with trying to sleep in a lab with wires connected yield erratic results, and maybe failure to sleep at all. I did two nights in a sleep lab. It was very hard to even sleep.
20 people in 3-4 years. What a waste. Another splendid miscalculation by the intellectual geniouses over at Cortex.
Oh well. At least they kept the doors open. And a dozen people have recieved salaries for the last 15 years. Plus, the booze, broads and poker train kept running, so what's the problem?
MF4
Blade,
Which prediction are you referring to? I make a dozen a week.
MF4
As I said before: booze, broads and internet poker. SA? We'll get to that later.....c'mere chicky, chicky.
MF4
Even if they are legally required to divulge results, what are you gonna do? Sue them? You'd be lucky to find them. If you found them, would they be able to read and understand the suit? If you had a court date, do you think they would be there on time?
Let's face it, our foolish investment is just paying some salaries for some serious slouches.
MF4
They will do anything to preserve power. Typically somebody "commits suicide" out of the blue. I hope that doesn't happen to one of the Paul's.
MF4
I don't know how this is done, but couldn't CORX reorg itself, and repackage itself into a half billion dollar IPO? The IPO market is booming all of a sudden.
If they could get a legitimate trial to indicate effacasy in something, they'd have a fair shot at sucess with an IPO. They would probably need a high profile CEO and some good press, but there must be some out of work people that could make this happen?
MF4
GFP,
I think a good clue to the "attack" would be when you start seeing oil futures volume spike. Do you know of a stock or ETF to play the rise in the price of oil, or oil futures?
MF4
GFP,
Wow. Just an educated guess on my part, made by connecting the dots, and it's true? It sucks, but anything in the media is intentional. We Americans are under the illusion that we come up with our opinions on our own, when there's obviously a huge 'Ministry of Truth' (Orwell's 1984) operation behind opinion formation here.
MF4
This whole Wikileaks drama about hacking websites and releasing government "secrets" is just a ruse. I wouldn't be surprised if wikileaks is a CIA invention.
Probable problem:reaction:solution? Personally registered IP addresses for anyone posting on the internet with criminal charges possible. Reduced free speech, tighter control over the free peoples of America.
MF4
Ombow,
Thanks for trying. You didn't answer my questions though.
MF4
Ombow,
Why is all of this stuff supposedly happening? All these false prophets and signs. How is one supposed to make the right choice when the wrong one is so beleivable?
Why would God test everybody so much? And then burn everyone that fails for eternity? Is he cruel? Does he punish those too stupid to be able to discern the right choice? Again, why bother?
Could it be some fabrication of a ruling class that wants people to behave a certain way when big brother isn't watching?
Is it possible that there is a creator of all eternity called God, but he doesn't know that someone is impersonating him here? Maybe he knows, but will not intervene under any circumstance? A book was written two millenia ago. Many claim it's the word of God, but what if it's not? Is it worth going to war for based on words that were written and interpretted by man, a flawed creation?
I know that you would consider these thoughts blasphemous, but I think they are healthily skeptical. And I think a just God wouldn't judge me as harshly as you claim to know he will. I suppose we will see in time. Have you spoken with God directly? If so, can you get him to tell MV to announce SA results to shareholders?
MF4
"Hello"...."Hello"
It's like talking to a wall. The sound of my voice keeps bouncing off the wall and back into my own ears.
MF4
It seems to me that "muslim extremists" and "Christian fundamentalists" are both types of religious zealots that are motivated by foretold prophetic events.
Perhaps we should step back and consider human nature? It is human nature to want to be right. To justify one's path in life.
If one's self worth is tied to being right about what some great religious figure wrote thousands of years ago, would they not take steps to bring about the fulfillment of these words that are so core to their psyche's construction?
Prophetic words that speak of "separating the wheat from the chaff" are similar in meaning to "killing those that don't agree, like the infidels", aren't they?
MF4
Ombow said: "We should use absolute, decisive force against Iran -- whatever it takes and as quickly as possible. From news reports, the majority of the people there don't want to be ruled by those Islamic clerics, anyway. They'd be happy to institute a democracy. That would be another benefit of us taking out Iran's current leadership."
Why, exactly are we in Iran? Why should "we" meddle in another regions struggles? We're probably there as a police force protecting Rockerfeller oil interests and muslin extremists is just the cover story. Who do you think owns the mechanism that issues "news reports"? Connect the dots Ombow. Use you god-given ability to discern truth.
"Give a man a fish, he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish he eats for a lifetime". In the Middle East, our actions to set up puppet governments do not stabilize the region because we are forcing them into our box. Once we leave, they will walk away from the box we created and something worse will occupy that box.
Besides, as a nation, thanks to the FED cartels actions (meddling again), we can no longer afford to police the world. Isn't this how Great Britain lost it's worldwide power?
MF4
I love how some see these parables as relating to some totally unrelated event. Maybe it's just some animals asserting dominance?
Biblical scholars get all self-important and create "codes" for what means what. People that beleive their interpretation of these stories in the Bible, may be barking up the wrong tree? But, would they be able to be honest with themselves, if one day they had an epiphany that years spent decoding parables was an exercise in fantasy? Polly not.
MF4
What ever did happen of our Veterinary Medecine strategy anyway?
It was all just a ruse to prop up the price before another dilutive financing. Once they got the cash, they forgot about it completely.
With another year of financing in place, it was time to get back to what management gets paid to do: Booze, Broads and on-line poker.
MF4
Either they've brought people back in to get better data, or there is something brewing.
Or door #3, they are simply incompetent and drawing salaries forever because nobody will or can stop them.
MF4
Bigworld,
It's all part of the bleed into globalism. The fed = the IMF. The only difference is that the IMF will be moved out of the country. In the end, some euro-banker will control the US economy and take chunks of land and resources from us in order to satisfy the debt we are taking on by bailing out the euro-zone.
And Obama declared a US drilling ban for 7 years in the Gulf, even while foriegn drillers are sucking oil out of the ground there.
Obviously the plan is to bankrupt the US and kill the dollar, raise the rest of the world up. When you're all at parity, it just makes sense to have a one world currency. A new world order, if you will.
My only question: Will they force me to be chipped to keep my universal healthcare, or will a tattoo of "666" on my forehead suffice?
MF4
ah Neuro,
Back to your petty, surly, know-it-all ways, I see. Good to have you back, old bean.
MF4
Davidal,
I disagree. They have been in dire financial straits for three years or more. In that time, they have never ventured, to my knowledge, to sell the company. So, why would they do it now? more likely, another dilution before we ever hear anything about SA.
God I wish a BP would buy Cortex and find a gem in the pipeline. I need the drugs man. Not to mention the money.
MF4
My suggestion would be for the Cortex management to invite some of their hippie friends over for a week long party. During the party, introduce up to 5 Ampakines to the hippies for recreational consumption. Observe the results.
Is there one or two compounds that produce an enthusiastic response? What is the response? Do the hippies want to take the stuff again? At the end of the party, management should sit in a room and analyze the results? Is there one compound that has very positive responses that could equate to a marketable pharmacuetical indication?
If so, they should get ahold of a chemist that illegally manufactures Ecstacy, and give him the formula. Encourage distribution on the black market. When the new drug becomes popular and is in demand in the underground scene, Cortex PR department should report that Cortex indeed owns the patent to it.
Most likely, the drug will also have a theraputic use. At that point, some BP will be able to put 2 + 2 together and see that buying all CORX assets would be a steal at half a $billion dollars. And everybody wins.
MF4
Davidal,
The deal they made with Tran was that he would analyze the results when he came back to visit for Thanksgiving in exchange for a $150,000 severance package. Looks like Tran stiffed them and they can't figure out how to tell the shareholders.
MF4
Ombow,
Ever hear of a self-fulfilling prophecy?
MF4
Aiming,
I think you went overboard on this thread.
DrFreefly posted a rhyme about the CORX saga, albeit with exaturations, in a humorous way, based on the silent night rhyme.
It wasn't off-topic. It was a welcome distraction from the normally deathly silent management of this little gem we follow.
So 7 posts followed, and then the thread faded. Big deal. Those easily offended can just advance to the next post. Did you need to delete the related posts too?
Please undelete the thread. Thank you,
MF4
Yes, she fueled many dreams of this adolescent boy! :)
MF4
shortly = today after the market close, so you will forget about selling shares by Monday.
MF4
ON Thursday, GM will IPO. I am considering buying it early and dumping it on a small pop. I'm not sure how sucessful the IPO, or the company will be? It could also be a first day dump situation where GM sells to the public to cover it's debts, and the IPO sells off from the get-go. Though it seems that the brokers will at least try to pop it for a short while?
Any thoughts on this trade?
MF4
Oh RBlatch,
C'mon now. You know you're feeling just a wee bit better about the situation too. I know it's hard for you to handle this paradigm shift. But, if you think about it, I'm not really giving CORX management a pass, even if the stock does do better eventually.
In fact, I would suggest that if you're looking to pick up any more shares on weakness, just wait a few more months when MV finally announces the ambiguous SA results. That should be good for a 4 cent pullback or so. That would probably be a good time to buy shares on the hope of high impacts, IMHO.
MF4
I'm excited by the news that CORX will finally get a high impact into humans for testing. This was the holy grail for me some 6-7 years ago. I had given up hope that they would ever see the light of day due to this management.
But, if a different management team (Servier) is going to take the ball and run with it, Then I'm hopeful. And that appears to be about to happen. This is news out of left field. Good news.
This could be a major inflection point...Could be.
MF4
who's the punk that sold 650 shares the last 2 hours? That's $115 after commissions. Red for the day.
MF4
A million shares can be had for a mere $200,000
This is still a penny stock, highly manipulatable. Someone with $50M to play with could buy at the market for 2 weeks and get the price up near $10. Then after the momo jumps on board, slowly start distributing the cheap shares.
Even in the absense of news, this thing could easily eclipse $1. Not to say it would sustain it. But, once again, there are any number of events that could come out now and provide an upside surprise.
CORX may have reached a point of maximum pessimism this year, and held fifteen cents, which seems to be a strong floor. Still, you'd think SA results would have been parsed by now. I think that will end up with ambiguous results like I predicted 2 years ago. But, I never gave a valuation to SA, and I doubt the market does either.
MF4
DFRAI,
I confess. It was a tactic to get someone to part with their shares. I actually bought some today.
MF4
On the other hand, .20 cents for this long suffering stock to finally get some action on the high impacts for Alzhiemer's is the first positive I've seen in years.
That's why I originally got into CORX, not SA or RD. Back then I was OK with paying $2+ for a share of that hope. Now, I think getting some more for 10% of that price is probably warranted.
It's my Hail Mary pass.
MF4
Neuro,
Thanks for the clarification. As you said, if this is a non-event, perhaps today is a good day to sell the pop as tomorrow the price will probably be back to .16
I'm contemplating selling the pop at .19 now and doing just that.
MF4
Didn't CORX cut ties with Servier? I didn't realize they were still connected. Does this mean Servier is funding a trial?
MF4
great, a new poster shows up and is a pumper. A lot of credibility with that prediction there humble.
MF4
Oxbow,
Besides, when stoner's drive, 40mph feels like 80. So, they're likely to be extra careful and/or not want to drive. Besides, once they get to the buffet, they're only likely to stuff their faces then want to take a nap.
They're not dangerous, just a little goofy or dull-witted.
MF4
I see some members are smoking hopium again. Junkees!
MF4
Ombow,
If you play intraday AND have a good entry, you can go long on a mid-day pullback, but playing the shortside is a loser's game. The deepest pockets in the world (FED) are using POMO funds to buy all stock market assets because they realize the only way to get the velocity of money high enough to stimulate the economy is by the wealth effect.
They knocked the market down so far a few years ago that people pulled into a shell. Whatever they were trying to accomplish, they overdid it. Now they have to reinflate everyone's 401Ks before we will spend money again. When we do, the economy will heal due to the velocity of transactions. The economy will really heal.
IMHO, the SPY will be above 156 sometime next year. Because the FED is more powerful than anything else. And that's what their mission is. They tried it with the banks and made a profit. Now they're doing it with the entire market. Who pays? People who have lived a careful life and saved money. The dollar will be sacrificed, but the economy will recover.
MF4
The problem is that pot has been effectively negatively advertised by big pharma for so long, most people can't get past it. The arrogance of the feds to outlaw a naturally occurring substance just galls me!
