and wasn't the poster well received!!!!
so jim, dia, CP, et al...
it's been noticed that none of you could dispute corp's recap.
that episode was as shady as you can get, and for the life of me, i don't know why it wasn't investigated.
maybe THIS poster presentation will get PPHM a feature on 60 Minutes!
why on earth is anybody excited about this?
Dew..since the patients would still be taking a regular dose of Docetaxel for second line (as the SOC), why wouldn't they or their doctors be interested in entering this trial with the possibility that an additional molecule, with a well-known safety profile, MAY boost it's effectiveness?
how did you come up with your ratio?
corp...
nothing about your post is unfair. won't stop it from being attacked.
means nothing other than we remain firmly under the radar. same as 'dead money' for the forseeable future in conventional wisdom, i'm afraid
we're gonna fill the gap to 1.42 again
so call IR and ask them if they are aware of anybody having been given bavi for ebola in the current timeframe, or about to be.
they'll either say 'not to my knowledge' or 'any information related to that issue would be PR'd'.
you'll have you answer.
that kind of speculation here is sickening.
drrocker...
there is no doubt in my mind that garnick was there for exactly those reasons...and, additionally, imo, to keep analysts on board.
i think they were trying to send a message...that they think they have their *hit together, know what they are facing, and intend to be ahead of the curve.
sure hope they partner before long... i do not want to be 'played'.
i think it was about liver..
the trend is up from 1.29 a few days ago :)
it's almost beyond belief that there was no reference to yesterday's PR and the news reports about it.
SOMEbody has to be asking about it in the Q & A... the BOD doesn't care about the market cap/PPS, but the analysts with price targets sure do...
be interesting to see whether ihub board folks in attendance show up here excited or pissed..
it ran up over Ebola speculation, and this ain't about Ebola. the pullback was expected...
we'll have to see if there are any surprise answers in the Q&A that move it back up...but don't count it.
commercialization 'in a few years'
it's going to be an important year!
thanks!
is that hayden? mozart? somebody must know...
funny how nobody ever knows how to use the technology. i can see it now...5 people huddled around the hardware touching wires, not having a clue how to connect....
but they'll stop cancer and ebola???!!
so we're parked at 1.55....waiting to spike one way or the other
again!!
Dew..it's in here

CJ...did Dr. Thorpe et al show binding to Ebola or am I just thinking of Lassa?
Dew...
go ahead, shoot me. i may have been thinking of Lassa Fever rather than Ebola, but i just don't feel like digging tonite :) at any rate, going after viruses is nothing new with pphm..
http://www.investorvillage.com/mbthread.asp?mb=1773&tid=7723661&showall=1
made a response to a sarcastic post about pphm over at biotech values.
while the folks folks over there are, by and large, highly intelligent, arrogance gets in the way on a regular basis, imo.
i do not expect responses to my post since pphm-related posts have just been totally ignored in recent history, but i'm hoping some insightful retorts materialize. would love to have fact-based banter instead of trash-talking for a change.
let's see what develops, if anything...
i suspect you well know that they did not just discover it now. i suspect you well know that it was shown to bind to most, if not all, enveloped viruses several years ago. i suspect you know that, for that reason, the DTRA initiative worked with it and acknowledged that what PPHM claimed about binding was true....it is very, very well documented. the issue has had more to do with the MOA. you certainly know that was not well-understood at the time, which has a lot to do with why PPHM's story has moved at a glacial pace.
you were one of the loudest voices laughing when the MOA became understood, and PPHM proclaimed that it revved up the immune system as an upstream checkpoint agent, with you and others claiming that since it 'failed' in early cancer trials (which it may or may not have, depending on who you believe), they 'changed' what it did. you also know, or should know, that numerous recent studies now indicate that there is an immune system effect that this compound has that may, that's MAY, increase the effectiveness of certain chemos and radiation therapies in oncology.
ignoring progress in science has not heretofore been a hallmark of this board.
maybe the stuff will be a flop in the long run, maybe it won't be.
given the fact that we all claim to respect open-mindedness, it seems reasonable to me that we should all consider current science on its merits rather than on earlier impressions which may or may not have been convincing.
i can handle snooty retorts from whoever gets the urge, if anybody does, but note that i have not attacked anyone, and this post is on topic. it should be responded to with facts, not a deletion.
so why is your favorite a possibility after success in 'multiple cell models' but PPHM isn't?
several folks here took to the twitter today to trash pphm, whose creation's performance made it through a per-review and was published in a 'real' journal with verification of having a particular effect related specifically to the ebola virus. PPhm didn't claim it would be a cure, but what did the usual suspects here do? trash it, laugh, make jokes, etc.
not one comment about what the independent researchers found.
not one comment about the science and whether or not there may be a place for it somewhere other than the trash heap.
maybe pphm should check with the experts here and find out who should run their trials and experiments so it doesn't have to be assumed that they must have been cherry-picked.
i'm one of the tired and impatient complainers, as those who have me on 'ignore' know well.
i really, really liked the reference to 'biodefense applications' this morning.
while i still expect that gap to be closed barring unrelated PRs, i have to admit i'm a bit more confident they'll make a deal on something before too long that can reduce or eliminate the need for further dilution while putting a higher floor under the market cap.
not expecting follow-through from the ASM, but increases in the analysts' price targets would be nice for now. It would make waiting for next year a lot more interesting and fun while the shorts could finally have to fish or cut bait.
i have my seat belt on. here we go again!
interesting that this comes out a couple of weeks after IR told us they are not pursuing viral, but are focusing on sunrise.
so.... who will come up with the cash to race into trials? it's still not a quick jump from that petri dish to being injected into humans...
ebola vaccine in the future? it might be part of a solution...who knows?
that would probably be a long way off...and it's a very different subject than what the world is facing today.
who is going to come up with the dollars for the research, by the way? and how many years till it gets in trials?
for all the possibilities about PPHM's science, one thing remains.
nothing has been monetized.
i do not believe for one minute that DTRA would have dumped a therapy they were confident about over budget problems.
oh, wait! i just answered my own question!
the BPs must have paid off the defense department to scrap our program!
so why did the DTRA stop the funding and why is PPHM not pursuing it?
because it is not effective enough.
in a nutshell, while it binds to the virus, the patient would be dead before the immune system would be able to launch a successful attack.
why are people here not paying attention to the fact that bavi is not going to be an ebola treatment? it's too slow!!!
how many times, and how many different ways does it have to be said?
CP
the BOD does not care about the share price. at all.
they are supposed to.
if their attitude is 'all or nothing' based on p3, i would prefer a different board. i think it's a 'wrong' attitude given the elapsed time to date and the reputation the company certainly does have in the investment community.
yes, i have the option of selling. i am still not doing that, yet, but the risk is very clearly present that this BOD is missing other opportunities to increase market cap by being so stubborn.
i am not one to assume that they have some secret deal signed that will trigger at some point.
i AM one to be aware that other companies are advancing new therapies, defending their value, adding talent to their BODs, gaining major institutional investors, increasing insider buying, making deals, and acting like capital enterprises.
this outfit is like a selfish toddler.
i will be happy to eat my words if this turns in to what a few of you think it will.... of course, if that takes another 5 years, it won't do me any good!
and why on earth would the ask only be 1.28 with no news?????????
fine-looking bid/ask this morning at 1.18/1.28.
you folks who say management is doing a fine job are nuts.
i am happy (??????) to report that all of my other small biotechs were down by substantially more than PPHM again today. this is about the bottom, and the reduced shorts verify that. they know when there's no point expecting a further dip, and they know when to not be set up to be squeezed.
while i'm pissed that we get played with so easily and so regularly, i absolutely expect that somebody will run it before long. the question is: will it be played one more time, or will the next run be the beginning of serious bets into P3 news?
oy. i love the big paper gains and the "yes! I should have listened to you"s, but the paper loses make me feel like the dumbest kid in the class.
only time i sold much was on the day of and the week of the crash.. got back in at a basis a buck lower cuz i was scared to be 'out' when the train left the station.
would love to know that the "All Aboard!" shout will come soon, but I'm already conditioned to know we won't find anything out next week.
Damn!
i guess the good news is that the pullback from 1.33 to 1.29/30 was on virtually no volume, and there hasn't been any since to speak of.
bets are essentially in place for next week.
