60 layoffs show the SPLC has overplayed its hand. Will the rest of the left learn from it?
Exaggeration and outright lies have been the common currency at the SPLC for decades
Jeremy Tedesc
Published June 15, 2024 7:00am EDT
One of the most notorious far-left groups in the nation just handed 60 employees their pink slips.
It’s not the first time the Southern Poverty Law Center has seen a mass exodus from its workforce, but this round of layoffs may signal an important shift in the political winds just as the national election cycle begins to heat up.
As an erstwhile staffer claimed on X, formerly known as Twitter, the SPLC’s recent downsizing comes even while the non-profit is "hoarding" over $1 billion of donor funds in reserves. While that assertion dwarfs much more reliable reporting tabbing the number just north of $160 million, what would appear to be a gross exaggeration actually provides a perfect window to understand the shell game the SPLC has been playing on the American people for the last four decades.
After all, exaggeration and outright lies have been the common currency at the SPLC for decades.
After gaining a reputation for successfully bringing to an end what was left of the Ku Klux Klan through lawsuits in the early 1980s, the SPLC shifted into full-time fundraising mode under its co-founder, Morris Dees.
A member of the Direct Marketing Association’s Hall of Fame, Dees was unceremoniously booted from the SPLC in 2019 while longtime president Richard Cohen resigned in disgrace amid swirling allegations of racism and sexism at company headquarters—a lavish facility employees have dubbed "The Poverty Palace."
And don’t kid yourself into thinking that anything has changed. In 2021, one ex-SPLC staff member wrote at The Daily Beast that even the follow-up efforts to address this toxic culture were designed to "protect the reputation of SPLC and not to enact or recommend changes that would benefit staff—changes that were desperately needed."
Apparently sniffing out the fact that the con was on decades earlier, the entire legal department resigned in protest. This was a group that could read the writing on the wall. As one former employee, Bob Moser, put it in a 2019 article for The New Yorker, "It was hard, for many of us, not to feel like we’d become pawns in what was, in many respects, a highly profitable scam."
Of course, pawns only have value if they can remove an opponent’s pieces from the board. The key to that goal has been the SPLC’s absurd "Hate Map," which for years has lumped together KKK holdouts with mainstream conservatives and conservative organizations—including my employer, Alliance Defending Freedom—in a blatant attempt to push us to the margins of American life.
That hasn’t slowed us down. Since 2011, ADF has been blessed to argue and win 15 cases at the U.S. Supreme Court and hundreds more in lower courts. As the high court was deciding one of those cases, protecting donor privacy, the SPLC launched its "Hate Free Philanthropy" campaign, which gives a not-too-subtle go at bypassing the ruling by urging private companies to dox our donors anyway.
Tellingly, the SPLC’s round of layoffs comes just days after releasing its annual update to the laughable "hate group" document, which one federal judge—an Obama appointee—deemed "entirely subjective." Included on the list were grassroots parental rights groups like Moms for Liberty and physician groups who oppose experimenting with transgender medical interventions like cross-sex puberty hormones on children.
That’s wildly out of step with most of the country. Polling reported by The Washington Post shows that most Americans agree with the position of doctors on the SPLC’s hate list that the law should protect minors from harmful puberty-blocking regimens.
Meanwhile, the SPLC’s animus toward peaceful, religious Americans prompted the Federal Bureau of Investigation to issue a field memo targeting Roman Catholics who celebrate the Latin Mass. The blowback caused the FBI to retract the memo and spurred a congressional investigation.
The SPLC has overplayed its hand with the American people. Disagreement is not discrimination or hate. We’re tired of seeing our neighbors slandered as bigots and bullied from polite society simply because they have the nerve to say what everyone else is thinking.
The only question remains: Will the political left more broadly learn this lesson, or will it be left to ex-SPLC staffers to think things over in the unemployment line?

Caitlin Clark in Obama’s America

Today’s game is mired, as is (seemingly) the rest of society, in race and race grievance — Obama’s America.
When Republicans whine about Trump’s ‘character’
By Jack Hellner
Paul Ryan says he won’t vote for Trump because of his character. That means he and other NeverTrumps are glad to accept Biden for another four years because their vote could defeat Trump, which is their goal. I have never heard Ryan talk about Biden’s character.
Former House Speaker Paul Ryan, meanwhile, recently said he’ll write in the name of a different Republican on his 2024 ballot. “Character is too important to me, and it’s a job that requires the kind of character [Trump] just doesn’t have,” the former Wisconsin congressman said last month.
So I would ask Ryan to explain how the following things that Biden has done, or said, show that he has good character:
He took his son around the World collecting kickbacks for the Biden family.
He lied to the public continuously that he never had any involvement with his son’s business dealings.
He intentionally lied to the public that Hunter’s laptop was Russian disinformation.
He continually lies about his personal biography.
He continually lies about what Trump said in Charlottesville to gin up racial hate and division.
He continually lies about what Trump said about soldiers.
He clearly supports abortion on demand because he won’t support any limits.
He illegally took and mishandled classified documents and shared them with a ghostwriter.
He has an attorney general who targets Catholics, pro-lifers, parents, and Trump-supporters.
Obama and Biden had a Justice Department that lied to the FISA court and illegally spied on people surrounding Trump.
He has no compassion for the families of soldiers who died in Afghanistan.
He clearly doesn’t care about the people of East Palestine, Ohio.
He supports Iran, which pledges death to Israel and death to America. He has built up the finances of terrorists while he lectures Israel.
He dictatorially and unconstitutionally pays off student loans. That is pure abuse of power.
He is willing to destroy the poor and middle class as he gives massive kickbacks to green pushers. Not once has he shown any scientific data to link temperatures to oil consumption because there is none.
He was willing to destroy children by keeping them out of schools at the behest of political supporters.
He fired people who wanted to exercise their freedom not to take a vaccine.
He is willing to block poor and minority children from going to better schools because he kowtows to political supporters.
He refuses to abide by his oath of office to enforce immigration laws.
I am sure people could come up with many more examples of the bad character of Biden.
But Trump paid a nuisance $130,000 and coded payments to an attorney as legal fees. What a crime! He also challenged an election, just as Democrats have done in many elections. He also told people to walk peacefully and patriotically to the Capitol while Pelosi failed to secure the Capitol, and that is her job.
Just think: Hillary and the DNC did opposition research far and wide on Trump, and all they could come up with was the fictional Russian dossier.
So I would ask Ryan and all the people who will gladly have Biden win another four years in office exactly what about Biden’s character is admirable.
As for me, I will enthusiastically support Trump, who supports American strength and safety and giving power, money, and freedom back to the people, over Biden or any other Democrat, whose goal is to make the government more powerful and to make as many people dependent on the government as possible.

Reuters: ‘Renewable energy’ sector laments conservative victories in France, worries about future funding
By Olivia Murray
In the wake of the sweeping conservative victories across Europe, Reuters published this article:
French renewable energy sector says far-right victory risks trouble for industry
The French renewable energy sector is bracing for a sharp slowdown in wind and solar projects if the far-right wins a majority in upcoming elections, just as new legislation was expected to boost the industry in nuclear-dominant France.
President Emmanuel Macron’s shock decision on Sunday to call a snap election could hand political power to Marine Le Pen’s far-right National Rally (RN) party, leaving it in charge of domestic policies including energy.
The RN has pledged to end subsidies for renewables and wants to halt expansion of wind power, including pulling down already installed turbines. The party would instead invest in nuclear, hydropower and hydrogen, according to its website.
‘It is clear that an RN-dominant parliament would facilitate the implementation of legislation that would at least slow down the development of renewable energy projects,’ said a spokesperson at Velocita Energies, a unit of China’s Envision Energy, which operates wind farms in France.
So hold up, let’s get a few things straight. It’s not exactly the French “renewable energy sector” but the Chinese “renewable energy sector” about which we’re speaking—so in reality it’s Chinese communists lamenting the electoral results, not true Frenchmen, which just shows how necessary it was for the elections to go the way they did. (Economics 101: If the industry can’t exist without billions in subsidies for years on end, it’s just not a feasible industry, class dismissed.)
Secondly, I reject the use of the term “far-right” unless we’re talking anarchy, because these are conservative limited government ideologies that found support at the ballot box, not lawlessness and zero government.
And thirdly, just to be clear, when I say “renewable” energy sector, I’m only using that term because it’s easily understood as the solar and wind energy industry, but it’s not at all accurate. Wind and solar are obviously renewable energy sources, but the sector is entirely reliant on another truly renewable energy source, and that is crude oil. (Crude oil is continuously made by the earth and even seeps out into the ocean, sustaining a host of marine bacteria that exclusively feed on it.) Unless the world returns to using shovels and manpower to mine critical minerals like cobalt and lithium, or can figure out how to dig out silicate for its silicon without relying on heavy diesel machinery or transportation, or lubricates wind turbines without petroleum-based products, calling wind and solar a renewable energy “sector” is false, and completely misleading.
Now, back to the matter at hand: I’m going to go out on a limb here and suggest that the corporate handouts to foreign communists were one of many reasons that the French voted the way they did.
Or, I suppose it could have been other things too, like…
The human locusts who have turned the nation’s sparkling capital into a filthy and crime-ridden tent city?
The tragic losses of bright and beautiful young French boys stabbed to death by gangs of feral African youth?
Muslim riots in Paris?
Maybe it was all of the above.
What’s next?
Leftist NGOs lamenting the victories because it “risks trouble” for their West-toppling migration schemes?
Socialists lamenting the victories because it “risks trouble” for their welfare benefits?
Third world invaders lamenting the victories because it “risks trouble” for their free ride?
Muslim jihadis lamenting the victories because it “risks trouble” for their bloody plans to Islamize Europe?
All these reasons are exactly why the people voted the way they did, and God bless them for it.

A Poor Reason to Be a Trump-Hater
By David Carlin
People who emphatically disapprove of Donald Trump — in short, Trump-haters — are likely to be college graduates, whereas people who are quite devoted to him — Trump-lovers — are likely to lack a college degree.
This differential is commonly used by Trump-haters to argue that they are right and the Trump-lovers wrong. “After all,” they contend, “if we’ve had more years of education, especially higher education, it follows that we are smarter than our less educated rivals, and if we are smarter, it follows that we are far more likely to be right in our evaluation of Trump and his fitness to be president. It’s obvious, isn’t it?”
This is essentially the same argument that has been used for decades to “prove” that abortion is morally justified. “We pro-choice activists are usually college graduates, often with degrees from the very best colleges and universities, and we commonly have professional careers, whereas anti-choice activists are commonly nothing better than high school graduates and stay-at-home housewives. How could a housewife from Smalltown High School know more than a professional woman from the Ivy League? Don’t make me laugh.”
Granted, college graduates are more likely than mere high school graduates to have better information about natural science and history and psychology — but does this make them better qualified to elect a president of the United States? That is far from certain.
In 1936, it is almost certain that college grads preferred Alf Landon, the Republican candidate for president, to FDR. In those pre-Gallup days, think of the famous Literary Digest poll of its readers, who were far more likely than the average American to be college graduates. The poll seemed to show that Landon would win an overwhelming victory over Roosevelt. In fact, however, FDR won 46 out of the then 48 states.
Now, if there were such an art or science as “how to elect the right person to the American presidency,” and if this art or science were taught in every American college or university, and if the typical college alum had not only taken this course, but gotten a good grade in it (A or B-plus), then we could be pretty sure (but even then not certain) that college grads would make a better choice for president than would mere high school grads.
Alas, there is no such art or science.
Perhaps we had better create one. Maybe we could undertake a great national project — like the one that produced the atomic bomb in 1945 or the one that put a man on the moon in 1969 — and in the foreseeable future, we could take the needless right to vote away from non-college grads, with the happy result that in the future the nation will always choose the better candidate for president.
We should also keep in mind that a college education, besides exposing students to knowledge they might not otherwise be come across, also exposes students to misinformation and intellectual foolishness that would probably not be available to the average young person outside a college campus. The danger of this miseducation comes not from professors of mathematics and the natural sciences; their subjects don’t usually lend themselves to political manipulation. The danger comes from ideological professors of literature, philosophy, and the (so-called) social sciences. It also comes, probably more influentially, from fellow students, students with an ideological bent. It should be noted that these student ideologists are more likely to bend left than right, leftism being temperamentally more suited to the rebellious adolescent mind.
Well, then, if we cannot base our confidence in college-educated voters on their intellectual superiority, perhaps we can base it on their moral superiority, since it is obvious (isn’t it?) that ethically superior voters will do a better job at choosing a national leader than ethically inferior voters — who, despite their moral imperfections, must be allowed to vote in a democratic society.
But are college-educated Americans in fact morally superior to those who never made it beyond high school?
In some ways, it may be acknowledged, the college-educated behave better than their less educated fellows. Usually they have better manners, because they are more likely to travel in occupational circles in which a premium is placed on politeness and good manners. Again, they are more likely to be up to date on what counts as offensive speech race-wise or gender-wise or religion-wise or sexual orientation–wise. Rarely, then, will college grads be caught making gross generalizations about blacks or gays or lesbians or transgenders or Arabs or Muslims. Many college-educated persons believe that this verbal restraint, even when not accompanied by an inner mental restraint, makes them morally superior to their fellow Americans who sometimes slip into such gross generalizations.
And when college grads commit crimes, these are more likely to be nonviolent white-collar crimes, whereas the high school–educated man is more likely to punch his fellow worker or shove his girlfriend. Besides, the working-class man has no more than a very few opportunities to commit a white-collar crime.
But if wrongdoing begins — as St. Paul and St. Augustine and ten thousand other wise men have believed — in the darkness of the human heart, then all of us are sinners, and the man with a Ph.D. may be as wicked as the man who has never read anything more weighty than a comic book.
For all I know, there may be many good reasons for not voting for Donald Trump. But that the average Trump-supporter has fewer years of schooling than the average Biden-supporter is not one of them.

With the unprecedented success of the Abraham Accords among other international accomplishments, Donald Trump has become the most consequential and successful foreign affairs president since Ronald Regan, as he has shown he can negotiate once-thought-impossible peace agreements. Open Borders America: Alleged Terrorist Migrants Stir 9/11 Fears
Suspected terrorists continue to come into the US with little to no trouble.
by Kelli Ballard | Jun 14, 2024
Migrants With Alleged Ties to ISIS Arrested
Last weekend, eight migrants from Tajikistan with possible ties to the terrorist group ISIS were arrested in New York, Philadelphia, and Los Angeles. All the men were able to cross the southern border into the US while their criminal background checks were clean. At least one of the immigrants used the CBP One app, which was created by the Biden administration to allow undocumented migrants to book appointments and claim asylum before reaching the border.
“A person can cross the border with a clean background or be from a country that doesn’t share criminal and terrorism information with our government,” Lora Ries, director of the Heritage Foundation’s Border Security and Immigration Center, told Fox News Digital.
Since that type of information sharing has yet to happen, some officials are worried that we are being set up for another terrorist attack. “The 9/11 Commission called out some of these very same issues as reasons that led to the 9/11 terror attacks,” Ries added. “Biden has returned the U.S. to a pre-9/11 posture.”
The FBI’s Joint Terrorism Task Force had been monitoring the eight migrants, as well as others, due to a potential threat coming from Central Europe. Part of the investigation involved a wiretap which captured the individuals talking about bombs, according to a report from the New York Post. “Remember the Boston Marathon [bombing]? I’m afraid something like that might happen again or worse,” a source told the outlet.
Officials have been warning about potential terrorist attacks due to open border policies. In February, Senator Steve Daines (R-MT) even pointed to Central Asia, where Tajikistan is located, as a possible origin for terrorists. He said a “high-level individual” told him that more than 50,000 Central Asians had crossed the border illegally last year and expressed that some of those people could be “part of sleeper cells for a possible terror attack on our soil.”
FBI Director Christopher Wray warned the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee that a coordinated attack like the one at a Russian concert hall earlier this year by the State in Khorasan Province (ISIS-K) was a possibility in the US. “Our most immediate concern has been that individuals or small groups will draw twisted inspiration from the events in the Middle East to carry out attacks here at home,” Wray warned. “But now, increasingly concerning is the potential for a coordinated attack here in the homeland, akin to the ISIS-K attack we saw at the Russia concert hall a couple weeks ago.”
Wray also explained his fears at the time involving a human smuggling operation at the southern border that has ties to ISIS-affiliated groups. When asked about this by Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), the FBI director said:
“I want to be a little bit careful how far I can go in open session, but there is a particular network that, where some of the overseas facilitators of the smuggling network have ISIS ties that we’re very concerned about and that we’ve been spending enormous amount of effort with our partners investigation.”
As Liberty Nation News pointed out in February, “agents have arrested more immigrants on the terrorist watchlist in just four months than they did for all of fiscal years 2017 through 2021 combined.” With the lack of shared information from certain areas – and with Border Patrol instructing agents to release migrants from more than 100 countries into the US – the terrorist threat will likely only continue to escalate.
While the eight men recently arrested have not yet been charged as terrorists, ICE has detained them and they face deportation proceedings. However, they could later face terrorism-related charges, NBC News reported.

Biden’s Blue State Buzzkill
The plunging popularity of the 46th president is not confined to red states or swing states.
by Tim Donner | Jun 14, 2024
Political analysts have rightly focused on the seven states considered battlegrounds in the 2024 presidential election. Those seven – North Carolina, Georgia, Arizona, and Nevada in the Sun Belt; Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin in the Rust Belt – will collectively determine the outcome of this battle for the ages between two presidents measured side-by-side. But to understand the full breadth and depth of the race, it is most instructive to take a widescreen view of the other 43 states attracting so little attention because they are considered “safe” for either Trump or Biden.
The purpose of such an exercise is to broaden and deepen the question of approval for the incumbent president beyond those areas where he has invested the most campaign funding. And with the four Sun Belt states appearing to strongly favor Trump according to a slew of recent polls, Biden will focus like a laser on holding the three must-win states of the Rust Belt he captured in 2020. But what about those states where Biden has no plans to campaign because he already has a stronghold – or some others where Trump has previously been non-competitive? Polls in those states have been largely unaffected by massive ad expenditures and campaign events and thus are more revealing of a candidate’s unvarnished standing among everyday Americans.
Biden’s Deep-Blue Blues
Let’s start with the state where Donald Trump was just convicted, bluer-than-blue New York. In 2020, Biden captured the Empire State by 22 points; he now leads by an average of 6%, according to the fivethirtyeight.com (538) compilation of polls. In New Jersey, Biden’s 15% advantage in 2020 has shrunk to seven points. In Washington, which became the poster child for the left during the post-George Floyd riots in 2020, Biden leads by 8%, after winning that woke state by 20 points last time. In deep-blue Illinois, Biden was the winner by 17% in 2020, but now leads by an average of nine points. In California, the belly of the leftist beast, Biden’s lead is 20 points, after he rolled up a 29% margin in 2020.
Put it all together, and in these five deep-blue states where Democrats have long been dominant, Biden’s support, on average, has dropped by a staggering 11 points over the course of his presidency – even with the specter of Trump on the horizon. Again, even that kind of plunge is unlikely to put any of those states in play, but it demonstrates how Biden’s 2020 coalition is crumbling, as we have seen in another context. One poll after another shows Biden hemorrhaging support among his three most critical constituencies: black, Hispanic and young voters.
Biden on the Medium-Blue Rocks
While he is unlikely to lose any of those heavily Democratic states, there are four lighter-blue states where Biden has lost support to the point that one or more of them could be in play come November. Based on the results four years ago, Biden should not have to defend any of these states, but now he may need to do just that. In Virginia, where Biden beat Trump by 10% in 2020, two recent polls show the race tied. In Maine, where Biden won by nine points four years ago, Trump has been tied or narrowly ahead in four of the five most recent polls. In Minnesota, Biden’s lead is down to just two points after winning there by 7% last time around. And in New Hampshire, where Biden won by 7% in 2020, the incumbent’s lead is down to an average of three points in four recent polls.
Add it all up, and it means Biden has fallen by an average of 7% in these four lighter-blue states since 2020. The Trump campaign, upbeat at this juncture and buoyed by polls showing no significant reduction in the former president’s support following his conviction, will likely continue to exploit openings in all four of those states – if only to force the Biden campaign to respond in kind or risk losing a state Biden’s campaign has all but taken for granted. Already, Trump has stolen the stage with well-documented and overwhelmingly successful ventures into the deep blue sea of the Bronx and New Jersey.
Like Biden’s sudden urgency to recover something he should have secured long ago, the black vote – now registering twice the support for Trump than in 2020 – this broad electoral analysis tells a similar story from a different angle. This president’s plunging profile in deep blue America and the need to spend time and resources defending medium-blue states, like having to beg his core constituencies to remain loyal, is indicative of a campaign on the ropes, flailing about trying to please everyone while appearing to satisfy almost no one.

Sick Of and Done With
“Biden is not well. Everyone knows this even those who support him . . .the difference is they don’t care and that’s the most frightening aspect of this situation.” — Edward Dowd
James Howard Kunstler
Jun 14, 2024
They’re kidding, right? That “Joe Biden” is capable of being president? Not just for another four-year term, but right here and now? This has got to be the most pitiful case of national gaslighting since 218-AD when the Romans installed 14-year-old Heliogabalus to front for their empire. Like “JB,” he reigned for four years (before the praetorian guard offed him). The Danish historian of ancient Rome, Barthold Niebuhr, said of him: “. . . [He] had nothing at all to make up for his vices, which are of such a kind that it is too disgusting even to allude to them.”
Lately, even the news media has begun to report “Joe Biden’s” senile mishaps. On Thursday at an outdoor photo op during the G7 meet-up in Italy, the ol’ dawg just wandered off from the assembled pack of world leaders until Italy’s PM Giorgia Meloni went and reeled him back in.
Earlier in the week at a Juneteenth party, they rolled him out on the White House lawn like a cigar-store Indian where he stood utterly frozen while all around him boogalooed and clapped to the music of jubilee.
Do you think that folks are starting to notice? Even many mind-fucked Democrat Party regulars who have been just fine with the controlled demolition of our country under this human door-stop of a president are murmuring ominously that the scam has become too obvious. Not Rachel Maddow, though. America’s Woke lunatic-in-chief reigning on MSNBC warned this week that the return of Trump would lead to her (and millions of her fans) getting jammed into “concentration camps.”
Maybe you’ve already noticed that Rachel Maddow lives in a concentration camp of-the-mind located inside her own batshit-crazy skull. Dunno about you, but for the first time in a life lived through many decades of purportedly rational post-war Modernity, I’ve developed a sympathetic view of how come people in earlier eras resorted to burning witches. They are obdurate public nuisances. Their “magic” lately is the ability to provoke a mass formation psychosis, an actual “threat to our democracy” or, more precisely, to our republic. Maddow, the proudly out-front lesbian non-breeder is living proof that renouncing motherhood is a predictor of Cluster-B personality disorder — the condition that defines the “progressive” Wokery of these times.

President Biden Says He Is Still Proud Of His Son For Getting Away With Everything Else He Did
WASHINGTON, DC — In a heartwarming display of paternal affection, President Biden has responded to his son Hunter's conviction on three federal felony gun charges by reminding the nation that he is still proud of Hunter for getting away with everything else he did.
The president's inspiring words of support and affirmation for his son praised him for getting away with other crimes, such as drug possession, underage sex trafficking, and bribery.
"And speaking of the America, I'd like to remind you all that I'm very proud of, you know, the thing! Hunter!" President Biden said as the White House staffer who was supposed to be making sure he didn't get into trouble flushed red and waved his arms in a desperate attempt to get Biden to stop talking. "I'm so proud of that Hunter boy, not only for what he's done to get him in this frugecuielneug… but for all the things he got away with, too. So many things! PAUSE. Always, you know - putting aside 10% for the big guy, that's what Hunter does. Good boy, Hunter."
Biden was forced to pause as several White House staffers whisked him away off stage and claimed that he was "already late for another engagement."
At publishing time, several reporters were seen wiping away tears at the sight of the president's paternal care before editing anything Biden mentioned about Hunter out of their articles.

CNN Claims Hunter Conviction Is Russian Disinformation
U.S. — A new CNN report citing several anonymous sources claims Hunter Biden's convictions on all 3 felonies today bear the distinct marks of Russian disinformation.
"Our expert, highly credible, expert, and very reliable expert anonymous sources from deep within the intelligence community have all said these convictions are likely the result of an elaborate disinformation campaign from Russia," said CNN anchor Jim Acosta. "We urge the public to ignore these convictions until we have more details. Do not watch any news sources except CNN, as we are the only ones with this information. You can trust me, because I'm Jim Acosta."
CNN went on to report that approximately 50,000 intelligence officials were all in complete agreement and that anyone who disagreed with them was probably a danger to democracy.
Sources also confirmed that Hunter begged for clemency in the case, citing the CNN story about his conviction being Russian disinformation.
At publishing time, the DOJ had weighed in, saying Hunter's conviction was not disinformation, but his drug possession, sex trafficking, and international bribery definitely were.

The 'shady, stagnant wealth' bankrolling Jihad funds more than campus protests
By Monica Showalter
Their cash not only goes to fund campus protests, it's spread out to indoctrinating schoolchildren, as AT contributor Barry Shaw notes today, and it's also going to pad the lifestyles of actual terrorists so they can do what they do.
It raises the question of how much of a hosing out needs to be done of this racketry and terrorist support once judgment day arrives on November 5.
In South Carolina’s 6th District, Rep. Jim Clyburn may finally have met his match
By Andrea Widburg
Last night, Duke Buckner became the Republican nominee for South Carolina’s 6th Congressional District. In November, he’ll face Rep. Jim Clyburn, whose 32 years in the House have made him one of the most powerful Democrats in America. For Clyburn to lose would have national ramifications second only to Trump beating Biden—and Duke truly is the man who can make that happen.
Jim Clyburn has been in Congress since 1993 and is currently the Assistant Democrat Leader, second only to Hakeem Jeffries. He served the same function for eight years under Nancy Pelosi’s leadership. During Trump’s presidency, he was the House Majority Whip. He also served as the Chair of the House Democratic Caucus in the early 2000s. Clyburn is so powerful that it was he who saved Biden’s flailing campaign by convincing disaffected black Democrats to give Joe their votes during the 2020 election.
Given Clyburn’s political heft, one would think that his would be one of the most well-funded districts in America. The opposite is true. It’s the poorest in South Carolina despite being immediately adjacent to Charleston, a top tourist destination, and it’s one of the poorest in America. Everywhere one goes in Clyburn’s district, there’s crime and poverty, whether in semi-urban North Charleston (one of the most violent communities in America) or in the dying, rural inland areas that were once so obviously prosperous but now have empty Main Streets, shuttered factories, and the despair of chronic poverty.
While Clyburn’s district languishes, Clyburn works to fulfill Obama’s 2008 promise that the new Democrat party would “fundamentally transform[] the United States of America.” Clyburn has been an active part of that, following wherever the Democrat party goes.
While Clyburn once voted for the sanctity of traditional marriage, by Obama’s second term, he’d “evolved” just as Obama did, and was all-in on same-sex marriage.
The unions, especially the NEA, give Clyburn their highest marks.
Clyburn backs minimum wage increases despite endless evidence, most recently from California, that “the right minimum wage [is] $0.00.”
While Clyburn has been on the front line attacking those who questioned the 2020 election, he was an election denier himself in 2004. Naturally, he was against Bill Clinton’s impeachment and enthusiastically for both of Donald Trump’s impeachments.
Clyburn is a leftist’s leftist. His political home is D.C., not his district. If he’s elected again, he’ll be 84 years old when he takes the oath of office.
And then there’s Duke Buckner. I wrote about him at length here, so let me summarize: He’s had a lifetime of real-world jobs, whether as a minimum-wage employee, a teacher, a newspaper founder and owner, or an attorney. He loves God, family, and country. He does not believe that our skin color defines our destiny. He thinks that the government holds people back rather than letting them thrive, but he also knows that our tax dollars should be returned to us in the form of real (not “climate”) infrastructure improvements such as roads and streetlights.
Those are Duke’s values, but values don’t win elections; personalities do—and thankfully, Duke has oodles of personality. Duke is genuinely warm, speaking to people rather than past them (something many politicians do). He’s an organized thinker and a charismatic orator who doesn’t veer into demagoguery. Here’s the speech Duke gave last night when he was on the verge of winning the primary. (Don't let the commercials distract you.)
Video at link
Duke’s election day event tells you something about the man. It took place in the charming Colleton Coffee in Walterboro, one of the 6th District’s inland towns. The crowd was truly diverse: young and old, black and white, reflecting South Carolina’s demographics.
I spoke with two young black men in attendance (both in their late 20s or early 30s) because I was curious what had brought them to the Republican party. One is an Army veteran who loves America and realizes that the black community’s woes are brought about by Big Government policies that make them dependent on the state and destroy their values. He said that people in his community are increasingly willing to listen to what he has to say.
The other young man came from and lives in one of North Charleston’s most violent communities. He wasn’t always a conservative but has begun to realize that the current system dehumanizes people—and dehumanized people are violent people. With his focus on individual responsibility and his growing appreciation for a father’s importance in his children’s lives, he’s beginning to understand that Republican policies are the best thing that can happen to black communities.
Duke can win this election. In 2022, when he first ran against Clyburn and had only $200,000 in the bank, Duke managed to get almost 38% of the vote. This time around, two of the three third-party candidates are challenging Clyburn from the left. The last third-party candidate is a libertarian, and libertarians aren’t having a good year.
Jim Clyburn has been riding high for a long time, but even Napoleon met his Waterloo. His district has nothing to show for his decades in D.C., and people are waking up to the fact that the Democrat party requires division, destruction, and poverty to survive. As Duke says, “America as we know it is on the ballot. The question you have to ask yourself is this: Do you want more of the same, or do you want better?”
This local election can strike a blow to the very heart of the Democrat party, making it almost as important as Trump’s campaign. However, Duke is running in an impoverished district, so he really needs your help. Please donate here.

No matter what the media and others regurgitate about ‘science,’ it’s always about money and control

A significant cause of problems throughout the world is that we have a mostly sycophant media who have lost their curiosity genes. They just repeat what they are told to push agendas for political elites, and the people become secondary to the powerful government.

Another deadly police ambush
By Michael Letts
I could go off on President Biden here and his inability to keep his promise to “fund the police,” or how his Democratic cronies won’t lift a finger when it comes to taking care of our men and women in blue. But the sad, simple truth is he won’t listen. He’s too worried about his connections with overseas countries and his re-election campaign to actually do a thing for police officers.
Union contracts are keeping kids from learning
By Donald P. Nielsen
The remedy for reducing poverty, crime, and other societal ills in our country lies in adequately educating our future citizenry. For that to occur, public education must change course. The system needs to reward teacher and administrator performance linked with student learning. Additionally, ineffective teachers and administrators must be removed. This will require a change in union contracts. Maintaining the status quo keeps kids from learning and robs them of the future they deserve.
Another Uvalde outrage
By Mike McDaniel
Despite Joe Biden’s continual misrepresentations of law, leftist lawyers have had little luck violating the PLCAA, but not for lack of trying. UPS, FedEx and other carriers have little financial incentive to keep transporting firearms and firearm parts, and might be intimidated into refusing to carry such goods, making it difficult and far more expensive for manufacturers to deliver their lawful products, which is precisely what anti-liberty/gun cracktivists intend.
FBI housecleaning

Who are the agents facing suspension and ruin? Apolitical men and women who play it straight, the kinds of people the FBI once sought and promoted. DEI hires and leftists have no fear of unwarranted security reviews. They’re the people conducting them. The DOJ is systematically cleansing the FBI of honest, apolitical agents, people who are dedicated to equal justice for all regardless of political belief.

The Bidens are a dysfunctional family of grifters

If the Biden presidency has taught us anything, it is that we can never, never again install a man so corrupt, so incompetent, so anti-American as Joe Biden. He is the most destructive president in American history and if we prevail as a republic, he will be forever more known as exactly what he was and is, a man with a greedy, dysfunctional family of grifters.

Three A.M. And Seven Minutes to Armageddon—Can Biden Be Trusted?
By Allan J. Feifer
I hope that when each of us goes and votes this November, the thought of someone trying to wake up Biden in the middle of the night is viscerally ingrained in them. Thinking of an angry old man who needs drugs to prop him up, being the only person in the world who can save us, scares me to death. What about you? To make it worse, how many of you expect him to survive the next four years? Think of Chatterbox shrieking Harris as the one making that fateful call. God help us all.

Interest Costs Are Fueling America’s Debt Crisis
Interest is now more expensive than defense spending.
by Andrew Moran | Jun 13, 2024
Will interest costs fuel America’s debt crisis? The ocean of red ink flooding the nation’s capital has garnered renewed attention over the past year. But taxpayers should not expect anything to change because politicians on both sides of the aisle are furrowing their brows and expressing concern rather than taking the necessary action to prevent Uncle Sam from falling off a fiscal cliff. Maybe they realize it is too late, and the country is at the point of no return. If so, they might be right.
Interest Accelerating the Debt Crisis
The Congressional Budget Office (CBO), a non-partisan budget watchdog, released the latest Monthly Budget Review, identifying that the fiscal year-to-date budget deficit is $1.2 trillion. The report revealed that revenues and spending were up from the same time a year ago, thanks to a 6% increase in mandatory outlays for Medicare and Social Security. The CBO also confirmed that interest charges have rocketed 42% as annualized interest payments have exceeded $1 trillion.
While it differs month to month, interest costs are now Washington’s second- or third-largest budgetary item, sitting just behind the retirement scheme and slightly ahead of defense spending. But this is only part of the story.
New data show that the average rate on the national debt is slightly above 3%, a 14-year high. The US government has sold about $6 trillion of Treasury bills, meaning they have maturities of one year or less. As a result, a huge chunk of the debt maintains an average interest rate of more than 5%. In addition, about $9 trillion will mature in the next 12 months, forcing officials to refinance the debt at higher rates, even if the Federal Reserve lower interest rates in this span.
It will only worsen in the coming months. In April, the Treasury Department published its borrowing estimates for the fiscal year’s final half. The report projected that the federal government would borrow $243 billion in the April-June quarter and another $847 billion in the July-September period.
Washington has and will continue to hold auctions of short-term debt securities to fund the government and manage ballooning interest charges. One of the reasons? As Liberty Nation News has reported in recent months, domestic and foreign investment demand for longer-term securities has been abysmal, driven by fiscal fears.
Looking ahead to the next decade, here are some numbers to determine if the United States is on a fiscally sustainable path. By 2034, the federal government will have recorded more than $16 trillion in cumulative deficits, the national debt will have surpassed $45 trillion, and cumulative interest payments will be close to $13 trillion (the CBO projects $70 trillion in interest payments over the next 30 years!). And this is assuming the United States does not slip into a recession or become engulfed in another major war.
Threats of Interest to the Government
Even if lawmakers subscribed to the notion that the federal government must be involved in every aspect of citizens’ lives and support the economic landscape, growing interest payments will threaten this objective. Indeed, the debt crisis will prevent Washington from maintaining the status quo. Politicians of all stripes will be forced to concede that something has to give. President Joe Biden and his administration have proposed various tax schemes to generate more revenue, which is already close to or at a record high. However, all of these endeavors, from taxing unrealized gains to offering the tax-collecting agency more funding, will not be enough to keep Social Security intact, ensure the US empire extends its tentacles to every corner of the globe, and maintain the welfare state for households and corporations.
Republicans and Democrats have proposed establishing a debt commission. It will likely consist of more talking, meaning the fiscal can will be kicked down the road again until the debt crisis leaves Washington no choice but to take drastic actions that could have devastating consequences.
