Oops - I didn't intend to let my naivete and inexperience show! Better cover it up :)
I do believe that despite the shades of manipulation that I think we all have already seen before, today's action is 100% obviously manipulated - is what I meant to say.
I wouldn't be surprised if there is a webcrawler on MSN's site that reads morningstars' data...(or vice-versa). The typo in this case would be repeated...
Not that it matters, the fundamentals of the stock are strong and should be trading 6x higher regardless of institutional ownership. I actually think it is bad that there is this much institutional ownership already... who's going to bid it up if most of the bucket purchases are already done?
If they can keep it artificially @ 0.20$ at their discretion, can't they put it at any price of their desire? This doesn't seem like a 'free' market. I didn't see any obvious signs of manipulation before today but it looks pretty obvious after today's flatline.
Any ideas?
Good luck to you and your family! Have courage - there is always hope, even in the darkest of times.
Were you at one time a long's long in for a minimum of a couple years? Or am I confusing with someone else?
Why is everyone's knickers in a twist over when they come out? The company has an objective - which is the end of March for Q4 ERs.
What would stop them from coming out? It seems like a pretty easy report to pull together - especially with Mr. Jennings at the helm of the accounting department!
I see +2.1%
I saw someone tell you 1150 AISC but I think it is more like $850 to $950 AISC. I hope KJ gave you similar info...
You're right - thanks for the reminder. It helps to remember we are all in this together, somehow. we all believe in the company which makes it that much more painful when she submits to silly Mr. Market's whimsy.
John, you seem to have timed this rally and reversal almost perfectly. I regret now not selling last Mond/Tuesday. Instead, I bought more! Rookie mistake? Do you follow RSI?
Texas-GAMBLER? Love your posts man - keep 'em coming.
The chart looks like a breakaway. I say we are back at 40 by mid-next week.
With so much buying, how can the price be so glued to 0.15???
I wouldn't be surprised if Gold Holdings is ready to hand over the money as soon as the drum is commissioned. That would be the "great task" of Herculean efforts of BAA to convince GH of their investment. Just my opinion...
Well written. I am 29 and of the exact same opinion and approach to this stock's risk/reward ratio. Nonetheless, all thsi bouncing around in th teens is stressful.
BAA on Groundhog Day - let's see if this is the one where we break free from this nonsense!!!!! :)
Could this be due to the tanking of the Canadian dollar and the exchange rate taking its toll on the cross-border securities prices? I have got no clue how that works - anyone have an idea?
Just going with the flow! Moving in unison with other PM miners.
Fat finger?
Well, it got this board to feel pretty cheery and upbeat bullish so I should eat my words. However, aren't there rules against insiders trading on non-public, substantial and consequential insider information? Be it a successful deal or a failed deal or other financing and gold streaming deals, or refinanced debt obligations it is all insider information that needs to be made public before an insider can buy.
I just donèt like the smell but am happy if it results in a price floor and will make Mr. Market happy.é
These are not strange prices but are the price range that BAA was trading on the TSX on Jan 8, 2015. These were not options, but have been declared as common shares bought on the open market.
Unless you are talking about the 18.50 and 19.00 price listed... I believe that is just a orthographic error.
This is not good. I am disappointed there are insiders buying because of the pending deal.
I doubt they would have purchased if the deal fell through, so why wasn't it made public before they purchased? I hope their lawyers approved the purchase 'cause this smells like shit.
Just a reminder, we are on the Banro board. I just read too many posts about GSS. Take it elsewhere, please. If I wanted to read about GSS I would go to that board.
A (very) big (almost) move upwards today. After such a long period bouncing around 0.13 (.15 on TSX), I have seen moves like this precede good news with other securities. Makes me wonder if we'll see some more news soon.
Negotiating from a position of weakness is always tricky and throwing GH under the bus could easily backfire as well.
I think BAA just got "algorithmed" to death more than anything else. A fitting title for a movie or a TED talk - "Attack of the Algorithms!"
I agree large debt can be a deterrent but any guesses why BAA is taking it on the chin compared to other debt laden entities? Such as... ANV, ABX, AEM, the United States of America?
This is the DD i have done and have come to the same conclusion as you. Good luck in your investing.
The TSX was closed on Friday too. I am excited to see if Friday's volume on the AMEX will encourage buyers on the TSX to gobble up some shares come Monday.
I am sure Naomi would be able to respond this question in regards to whether or not there is a 'blackout' period. Insiders just can't buy like you or me and requires careful attention, agreement by company lawyers, etc. With the unfinished deal looming it is probably difficult for insiders to purchase/sell right now. Also, who would've purchased this in their right mind while it was falling like a knife? Just my opinion...
As on of our friendly posters has said, it is Banro Clause and he is now in town to determine who gets gold and who gets lumps of coal. :)
Banro on the TSX closed down.
Thanks for sharing. Itis times like these where huddling around the campfire to tell stories makes a rainy day seem alright
I've seen 34k oz. Predicted for Q4 a number of times. Not being a miner, I don't know how high this probability is. It would depend on weather in the Congo, the quality of deposits they unearthed, etc. And other uncontrollable factors.
My question is, how much variability in production can there be given the known facts?
I suspect a profit even @ 30k oz due to the fall in crude prices. Maybe after being profitable two quarters in a row, Mr. Market might take notice as BAA being one of the few, sustainably profitable gold miners.
Has any fellow posters ever seen, invested or experienced a reversal to the mean (let's say at least to the NBV) of sucha beaten down stock before?
It seems almost that at these levels it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy that once down, it stays down. It takes guts (or stupidity probably in my case) to buy what is essentially a penny stock at these levels.
Green day! It is Christmas week, anyway!
What kind of cruel parents did Turd have?
I bought another 100,000 shares this morning.
A hostile bidder would really have nothing to lose to lowball the bid. If more than 50% of shareholders agree to say, $75 M which is 100% increase from where we are now, that's the end of the story.
I think it highly unlikely and am long with 100% of my funds. I am nonetheless nervous! This silence is killing the pps and allowing rumours to run rampant.
Hey Banro-overlord -
How many shares do you own after months and months of pumping?
How can you be so confident that Banro will remain solvent with cash flow issues?
What if a hostile takeover of $50 M takes place? We'll only get $0.20/share.
If increases of 3-5% on global equity markets based on two little words or even one word from the FED does not exemplify "irrational exhuberance", then I don't know what else can!
I am actually astonished, baffled, dumbfounded that equities rise when the FED says, "Hey, things aren't good enough for us to raise rates".
It looks BAA keeps on bumping up against the 50 EMA and retracing to support at $0.13. I have a feeling that just playing the technicals alone, we could see an explosive move upwards once BAA closes above the 50 EMA.
That can happen either due to a move upwards or the 50 EMA coming to meet the pps where it is which implies another 50 days at worst before we start a movement up and declaring this a (victory) real bottom.
Is this a well known analysis? Name for this?
