Thanks degackz
I've ordered my bluetooth products thru buypcdirect. I'll let everyone know if they work.
I'm still looking for a bluetooth trackball and a bluetooth stereo headset (two ear muffs).
OT: Jumping through the hoops
Herb wishes to buy some Bluetooth accessories. The poor guy is put on the scent to http://www.bluetake.com. After two days and an e-mail, he finds he really needs to be at http://www.bluetakeshop.com/ to actually buy something.
Ole Herb decides to buy the overpriced BT500 Bluetooth mini-mouse and the really overpriced BT210 Bluetooth printer adapter. Buying the printer adapter for his i70 Canon portable printer is 2/3rds cheaper than buying the new i80 with built-in Bluetooth.
Ordering goes smoothly until PayPal rears its ugly head. PayPal wants Herb to belong to its super executive privileged to take your money club. Actually, Herb thinks he's already joined but must wait until his Card statement for this month arrives. There should be a secret password on the statement next to the $4 PayPal deduct.
Lord have mercy! Herb is looking to shove some e-commerce up...
Herb is wired and likely to stay that way through no fault of his own.
Retail report: Apple Store University Village, Seattle.
Overheard saleswoman tell mini-iPod customer they were getting a few in each day. Talking to the same saleswoman about bluetooth accessories was like talking to a rock. She could care less why we buy our machines and how we use them.
I can understand why Apple thinks it can get by with less people in marketing and sales. Some of the problem is Apple's culture being a top down company. I often find in Apple stores and even at MacWorld a total lack of the feedback function associated with marketing. Unless you can buttonhole a product manager, all suggestions, feedback, or desires is dead-ended right before your eyes. Apple should at least teach their employees to fake it.
Linda: The Apple wireless keyboard is 100% Bluetooth ready.
Mkts are getting ugly in a hurry!
degackz:Bluetooth
Thanks for the link to Bluetake and their wireless mouse. They also have a USB to Bluetooth adapter for printers. I would order one on the spot but, can't find any retail outlets. Bluetake must be a UK company.
The Bluetooth printer adapter is a dream come true. I have a i70 Canon printer which is easy to pack around. Often in a motel room, it is easier to set up the PB on the table and the printer over near the TV. The twenty feet of USB cabling makes things ugly in a hurry.
Linda:Apple Wirelwss Keyboard
No Linda. The keyboard only sleeps with the CPU. After waking the CPU, it takes a few seconds for the keyboard to respond.
You need the D-Link DBT-120 Bluetooth to USB adapter for your machine (Donna?).

As you can see, it is a small unobtrusive device. I plug it into an USB port on the back of the LCD moniter.
I know what you mean about getting all tangled up with wires looped under the desk.
Linda: Yes, you have the idea. I like the Apple wireless keyboard; using it with the G4 tower. It's great moving it aside to use the desk to write and not being constrained or having the cord in the way. The keyboard takes about two seconds to wake from sleep.
Apple has a cordless mouse also. I'm not interested because I prefer multiple buttons and a scroll wheel.
Linda: Bluetooth
Bluetooth is ready to go in my PB so, there is no need to hang any gizmo receivers off an USB port. When I pack my PB along on the road, it would be nice to use a trackball and even a printer without stringing more wires. Bluetooth is slowly being adopted. It is just taking for ever.
Bluetooth
I want bluetooth devices. Logitech please oh please design a bluetooth wireless trackball. I'm not interested in hanging special wireless antennae off a USB port. I want pure bluetooth wireless with no cords.
Trackpads or okay in an emergency but, it would be nice to have three buttons and a scroll wheel for my mobile computing needs. Did I mention bluetooth?
OSX 10.4, Tiger
My must have hoped for new feature is Mail remembering my password when their server goes down. Is it really necessary for me to re-type my dot-Mac password umpteen times when their server pukes?
OT: Pinza
My sources tell me, Leo Hindery is working full time fund raising for Carey. If not-Dean wins, Hindery will be our new Sec. of Commerce. No mention was made what will happen to Hindery if Hero/Traitor is dumped from the ticket as some liberal media outlets are suggesting.
I personally hope Nurse Fuzzy Wuzzy's husband continues on even if he makes Alpo Gorpo appear charasmatic.
Leo Hindery is a super salesman. He sold TCI to AT&T for billions. He also had something to do with raking in or raking out billions while he was with Global Crossing. I'm sure he will make a fine Sec. of Commerce if only Kurry wins.
The super rich sure like to flock together. I think Steve Jobs will fit in nicely with the UN's 'food for oil' gang advising the Ketchup King. Steve will know how to get him a free jet (Airforce 1) to go along with his motorcycle and Suburban.

Annie try at cat.com.
lango...'hedge down and in'???
I had it in mind to sell some July 25 puts. Is that what you are suggesting?
Natural Gas
I support efforts to build a gas pipeline along side the oil pipeline coming from the North Slope to Valdez.
Channel clearing.
Buy a G5 and 23" display; get $500 off.
Scottrader streamer broke for me over the weekend. Anyone else have a problem?
MS Word printing
I'm printing multiple copies of a MS document as I type. No problems. The document originated on a PC and was sent as an attachment.
Two years ago, my niece took an iBook away to college. My sister-in-law living two miles from Bill Gates told me in no uncertain terms where she was going to stick that iBook if it didn't get the job done.
The niece is the only woman (girl to me) in her sorority using an Apple computer. Her report is the other girls go from one computing disaster to another. Her computer is the only one NEVER having a down day. She never turns it off and uses it extensively.
aapl may break into the 26s
Airport-degackz download the new Airport Management Utility. Part of the package is AirPort Client Monitor. It shows speeds, noise, and etc. for an individual machine using wireless.
The shine appears off Apple's quarterly report. Third quarter is now in focus.
Roni-I see you you are a hero once again with the wife's IRA; and, maybe with the wife too. When will you start replacing the shares? I wouldn't mind seeing another drop of five bucks.
My PB 17" has a CardBus slot.
I don't want a computer like a microwave. This morning I tried to thaw bacon. My microwave has a defrost button. Nothing happened. Punched in some minutes. The bacon twirled around a few minutes. The bacon came out solid as a rock.
I want unified user friendly appliances.
Market to Apple, sell some 'puters.
So much for short squeezes; nor hugs!
Apple has been updating OSX every year. What about 2004? What is after Panther?
I am really happy about iPod's success. I would like to see something similar CPU wise.
PS: CNBC: What Apple blockbuster deal?
Tom some of us old timers were wrong on this one. I think Roni will blame me for selling his wife's stock too early. Opps.
Actually, I'll make some money being wrong even if my aapl shares are called away in July and October.
I sure see alot of PBs and iBooks out and about. No one seems to want a tower or iMac anymore. To me, the iMac is a classy office machine. Wonder why no one else sees it my way. Price?
It looks like Apple is a short time sell!
aapl fear setting in. Dive! Dive!
Roni, Good timing. Fear of earnings must be setting in. aapl down a buck fifteen as I type.
DiskWarrior used to come in handy on OS9 but, I haven't used any utility on OSX. I think Norton became a solution without a problem.
Roni, my bets have been inline with your thinking; sold covered calls on all my aapl. I haven't had the guts to buy puts, yet.
Do you think someone knows something the rest of us poor slobs don't? Does Martha have a relationship with Steve?
I can't see iPods carrying the quarters. If there is a next great thing announced in the near future, bets are it won't help Apple much in this quarter.

Re: SUNW
I have a feeling Microsoft's cash pay out to Sun is similar to 'death spiral' financing. Do you think Microsoft will hedge the cash? Sell SUNW short?
At least Microsoft won't have Sun pestering them anymore. Too bad! Java is a real contribution to us in the real world.
I hope Sun comes up with a workable business plan. It is tough going from selling estates to trying to peddle condos in the slums!
sold 5 Oct 30 covered calls this morning.
aapl...the quarter's results be leaking!
OT: Tom...doggone you and you're aluminum display. You got me again.
OT:dilleet-Salmon
Do use the traditional double 3/0 hook leader setup with plug cut herring behind a 4 or 5 oz. sinker?
Conversion
I proudly announce the second Windows to Mac conversion I've effected. The first was my niece's college iBook and now the second is a G5 as therapy for my friend's high school son. He is using Final Cut Pro.
Both, youngster and father are extremely happy with their purchase.
