Over the past two years, NICE compliant psychological therapy services have begun to be rolled out across England. By the end of 2010/11, we expect to see nearly every PCT to have begun to deliver these services, with acces being available to approximately 60% of the population. The following PCTs will commencing services over the coming months. Engage now with your PCT to plan for an effective relationship from the start of the service.
Talking therapy services are already delivering:
*Improved mental health and wellbeing - over a 320,000 have now accessed IAPT services and 42% of those who have completed treatment have moved to recovery.
*Positive impact on employment and absenteeism – by combining therapy with access to employment support as an integral part of the service IAPT is helping people to stay in and return to work.
*Reduced health resource utilisation – as well as more effective prescribing practices, evidence is emerging to show that people with a long term health condition (such as diabetes, CHD or COPD) use fewer resources interms of out patient appointments, inpatient stays and diagnostics, if they receive a talking therapy.

This company has grown steadily over the years and no way met its potential. Financialy sound. Mainly organic growth and technology not yet fully appreciated. Once that happens, watch out.
Had over 50 years succesful market reading and technical awareness experience for the fun of it not monetry; that's only numbers.
That is why banks failed.and Directors indirectly are living off the State without shape or capabilities. Would a respectful Jewish money lender let you borrow 100% plus of chatels? I do not think so nor would he mislead first time buyers. Because it would not be in their interest

IMO resolution 8 does not matter, providing the numbers keep coming, yesterday should be the beginning, after the bod fulfilled their promise' of JV's in America, not forgetting this was expected in 2010.
The point is' will they exercise their rights of share options, only the bod can answer, we are guessing and the bottom line remains....NUMBERS imho....
Last results, Ultrasis remain strong with the NHS although new business has slowed, because Ultrasis are moving toward overseas, it doesn't mean the NHS contracts will cease, remember a recent article - Ultrasis Job vacancy for a General Practitioners liaison officer, to promote Beating The Blues sales and make them more aware.
stedon posted yesterday, why has this contract been announced prior to the agm, a good question, lets hope there aint a sting, however it goes back to Numbers imho. With a healthy cash Bank balance, I hope they use it for any funding for the new partnership and further expansion and I feel confident there's much more to come this year.

27 January 2011. US deal for Ultrasis with major health care provider, UPMC
Ultrasis, a provider of interactive health care services, is pleased to announce a ground-breaking partnership with the UPMC Insurance Services Division which is part of the major US healthcare provider, UPMC.
UPMC is an integrated global health enterprise based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, one of the leading health care systems in the United States and Western Pennsylvania's largest employer, with approximately 50,000 employees and revenues in excess of US$8.0 billion.
UPMC Insurance Services is investing US$1.0m to develop a US specific version of "Beating the Blues" ("BtB"), which will be available, from July 2011, and will be available across the UPMC's provider services as well as through UPMC Insurance Services companies, which provide health benefits management to well over one million people in Medicare, Medicaid, EAP and Behavioural Health programmes.
Ultrasis and UPMC Insurance Services have further agreed to the formation of a 50:50 owned joint venture company (the "JV") to launch the US BtB in the wider US market. Both Ultrasis and UPMC will invest to develop and drive sales opportunities across US states, government, insurance, primary care providers, major corporations and other health care providers seeking to enhance their mental health and wellbeing services.
Both companies will collaborate on further research into BtB, extending its use to other depression-related co-morbid conditions, such as coronary heart disease, with a view to launching additional product and service solutions through the JV in the near future, and also to extend the use of Ultrasis' and UPMC's other wellbeing products and services.
Diane Holder, Executive Vice President UPMC, President of Insurance Services Division, President and CEO UPMC Health Plan, said:
"UPMC has a mission, both within the USA and internationally, to redefine health care by using innovative science, technology and medicine to invent new models of accountable, cost-efficient and patient-centred care. We believe that Beating the Blues will help us achieve this goal within mental health and emotional wellbeing services.
"UPMC is committed to delivering life changing medicine and giving people the opportunity to live more rewarding lives. Accordingly, UPMC will be the 'laboratory' to show how Beating the Blues can be utilised to best effect, and the newly created JV will be the vehicle to take this learning to the wider health care market."
Neal Ryan, MD, Joaquim Puig-Antich Professor of Psychiatry, Director of Psychiatric Informatics, Department of Psychiatry, School of Medicine, University of Pittsburgh, said:
"Depression and related disorders are among the top ten causes of medical morbidity worldwide. Studies done in the Department of Psychiatry of the University of Pittsburgh and at other academic centres throughout the world have made cognitive behavioural therapy approaches the best validated non-pharmacological treatments for depression in adolescents, adults, and late-life. Beating the Blues, a validated web-based cognitive behavioural therapy, offers the possibility of more cost-effective treatment and better availability of treatment. For some, this approach may be sufficient, for others it will be a valuable adjunct to pharmacological and/or more traditional psychotherapeutic approaches."
Nigel Brabbins, CEO of Ultrasis, said:
"This represents a significant milestone for Ultrasis and our world leading product, Beating the Blues. The USA version of BtB and the JV will enable the Company to develop a presence in the largest health care market in the world. This is very timely given the health care reforms taking place and the increasing focus on the need for proven, cost effective solutions to meet the growing demands being placed on health care providers.
UPMC is at the leading edge of delivering technology based solutions and we are delighted to be working in partnership with such an eminent health care company. Ultrasis will benefit significantly from its knowledge of the US health care system and allow us to immediately commence the sales process across a number of key markets."
Dr Charlie Martin, Executive Director at Ultrasis, commenting on the clinical need, said:
"According to the NIMH (USA), approximately 60 million American adults will suffer from a depression or anxiety related condition in any given year. More than 120 million prescriptions are written for antidepressants each year, making them the most prescribed class of drug in the USA and this trend continues to grow. There is a growing recognition of the role computerised cognitive behavioural therapy can play in offering treatment, as described recently in a Harvard Publication (A Roadmap to Computer Based Psychotherapy in the United States)."
National Foreign Trade Council ("NFTC") Vice President, International Human Resources Services, William Sheridan, said:
"This is an excellent example of significant cross-border health care benefits NFTC is keen to promote. It has been achieved through collaboration across international boundaries, where a leading health care company (UPMC) is joining forces with Ultrasis UK - an NFTC member - which provides the leading computer delivered treatment for anxiety and depression, "Beating the Blues", to meet the ever increasing need for cost effective solutions to the growing economic burden of health care." www.nftc.org
Resolution 8 will be passed IMO, it matters not, >>>>>ONLY numbers matter <<<<<
4 Novemeber 2009 INTERVIEW: Ultrasis Hopes To Seal USA JV Deal Next Year in 2010. Whoops one month late lol !!
LONDON (Dow Jones)--Interactive healthcare services provider Ultrasis PLC (ULT.LN) Wednesday said it is in talks with potential joint venture partners in the U.S. and hopes to seal a deal next year.
The company's products provide computerised cognitive behavioural therapy for depression, anxiety, and other stress-related conditions.
Ultrasis, which recently launched a Dutch version of its "Beating the Blues" computerised CBT treatment, already serves healthcare providers in some parts of the U.S.
"We're having significant discussions in the U.S. about our services, which have been prompted by changes from the Obama administration," Chief Executive Nigel Brabbins told Dow Jones Newswires Wednesday.
He said any deals would likely take the form of licensing agreements.
"America spends a massive amount of money treating diabetes, obesity and things like that but they're not really tackling the depression which is prompting these health problems, so people aren't getting better," Brabbins said.
However, he said a recent shift in focus in the U.S. to tackling underlying mental health problems before physical conditions provides a big opportunity for Ultrasis to win more business.
"The market in the U.S. is worth more than $200 million and our aim is to find a partner with the delivery network to support our product," he said.

Ultrasis (ULT, 0.435p, £6.55m) The developer of computer based treatment systems has won a contract with UPMC Insurance Services Division, a subsidiary of UPMC a major US healthcare provider. UPMC will invest $1m in a US version of “Beating the Blues” which will be available from July 2011 across all of UPMC’s provider services as well as its insurance Services – serving over 1m potential customers. UPMC and Ultrasis have also formed a US KV to address the wider US market. We have been holders for some time, but the potential for this entry into the US market with a powerful and widespread partner justifies a move back to a SPECULATIVE BUY. (Julian Tolley)

Written evidence from Ultrasis UK Ltd (COM 46) SUMMARY
House Of Commons Health......
— Cost-effective and clinically effective treatments such as computerised cognitive behavioural therapy (cCBT) that have been recommended by NICE have been proven to support the increased delivery of services at a much reduced cost. Commissioners must be willing to have a broad knowledge of such new treatments and be challenged where they do not introduce them into routine practice. Health and social care can and should be closely integrated with greater investment in proven health technologies as the global benefit to both systems is closely aligned; this is especially the case for people who are considered most vulnerable such as those with mental health needs. cCBT and other health technologies based on promoting self care enables patients to be treated in non-clinical settings such as social care providers, third sector services, public facilities such as libraries or even from home.
