I would have to concur. It looks like an over reaction wash out. We're going to reach an irrational climax in the sector pretty soon. I just want to time an entry into Cumberland to maximize my advantage. Seems like 2.80 is sloid support but it may never hit that. As a coincidence, Russ Winter just went long MNG. He has'nt publicized a move like this in a year. I can only hope it means a turn in his luck.
Probably not a bad move. Did you see Cumberland? What the heck is going on with that one this morning? I got a liitle more info on the CPQ Yerba Buena project. It appears that all the lead geologists give it the highest potential rating of the three that Canplats now has in action. It's never been drilled and is last in line so there is the possibility of a big payday off in the distance.
Not so far but for a fee I believe that I can.
Probably one of the toughest areas on earth to explore much less construct a mine. If there's one place where there are major ore bodies left to be discovered this has got to be it.I made my self and a few other people money on the discovery of Omai and Gros Rosabel by buying GSR on its run to 21. Lets follow this company as it sets up and see what the package looks like.
We've hit one massive flat spot. There are'nt even any trades in this stock today. Best thing I could do is lock down and hit the road for four months or just ignore the day to day perturbations of the markets.
CPQ is not an easy stock to buy, Having hit my bid on a few occasions this week, there were apparently no shares for sale. Today was an especially negative day so I may have gotten a fill. The next results from Rodeo should show marked improvement in core recovery with Santa Lucia and Yerba Buena sitting in reserve.
Bruce Robbins is over on SI talking about the cheap shares that everyone got by holding FGX to the end and rolling over into CKG. I just wonder how cheap those were. I certainly had the oportunity to pick up as many as I wanted at 1.50 and did'nt do it. This thing is probably going to become a monster on the order of WTZ. You don't need to make too many right decisions, you just need to load up on the ones you do.
Buying more on the washout may turn out to be prescient. The post you linked to on SI is a good one. If this veiwpoint takes hold, we may blow right through five. I'd like to know who dumped 170+ thousand shares today. I finally pulled out a lot of my old printouts from Jim Steele. Good thing I did'nt have a wall near by to bang my head on. Should have bought every issue mentioned in quantity. I think we're looking at a replay right here which is why I sank more into CKG a few months ago than I have ever put into a mining stock. We're still in the basement banging our heads on the floor joists.
How bout this price washout on the same day as the NR? Coincidence or something more diabolical?
No doubt about it. I'm already overexposed to the place. All positions were taken based on geology. Chubut looks particularly problematic. I've heard it said that the place is a pristine national park quality setting that will face so much oposition to mining that decades could go by before any resolution.
The list of these IMA jv/spinoffs just keeps getting longer. This one looks real interesting while IMA just keeps getting pounded by misinformed interpretation of everything from drill results to legal wrangling.
Nice paste. Barne's comment at the end may turn out to be a key statement as we look back three years from now.
I keep relearning that you cannot underestimate the power of this Jason Hommel fellow.
ARQ seems to be continuing to come out of a double bottom. No huge volume yet but I continue to see 8 dollars as the next stop.
Thanks for your opinion guys, I too am on board. Once or twice Eric has gotten me laughing so hard, I've almost fallen out of my chair.
Here's another volume anomaly. Redstar gold corp shows a 1.2 million share day less than a week ago. You could probably go back in history and not find any thing close. I've been telling myself I've got to dig up all those old mining insight printouts. Just recently it's been SRU then KG, what's next?
Man it's those ten centers that really provide the leverage. What do you guys think about the prospects for shield gold?
Something has definitely gotten into KG. I started watching it two yeare ago or more and it has never acted like this. After reading Clive Maund's rundown on the company I almost want to buy in even at these prices. If volume is an indicator this thing could go higher right away.
Is Bishop exerting less influence in the market now that his lead stock has more than halved itself? The last price burst was due to his recommendation and now it gets beaten back to the previous level. Still a fairly high market cap for a company with such early stage projects in Africa.
That's going to be my response if I fiddle around and never pull the trigger on CPQ. Talked to the IR guy and his opinion is that the last run up was on a Doug Casey reco. Wondering where the next entry point is. .60 seems to be holding.
The new run on MGM could be just a slow growing realization that El Cairo could turn into a sigificant proven deposit by bordering St Augustine. If it turned out equal, the stock is ten times undervalued at a minimum.
Thanks for the link to this site. As slow as my connection is I'm going to have to access this stuff in the middle of the night.
Whoever is driving SRU is reading from the same script.
If you would'nt mind, could you share the source for the data you use to track this ZAR/ gold price on a regular basis? Thanks
What's your opinion of the share structure beginning with management owning 40%? That is , at least, a good beginning .
I can't find any projects more noteworthy that the JV described in your post. I own CQR and knew nothing about this one. NCm with 4+ million shares outstanding looks like it was an opportunity two weeks ago.
Ijust can't ever get to one of these conferences. They're either in Canada or as this one is in Boca Raton. I liked the Don Coxe reference to the G7 conference in the mouth of the rat as particularly appropriate.
Unfortunately I'm not and should have pulled the trigger last week by the looks of this halt. Radius would seem to be a value here looking at the price performance over the last year. I guess we're not going to find out what's going on till at least tommorow.
You gotta wonder what's driving Newcastle, the JV with Conquest? CQR seems to be a sharp outfit having been involved with Oxus and snaging the claim bordering Goldcorp. No movement in it's share price while NCM goes vertical.
Both are still halted after the close. Got a feeling some reactive move of substantial proportion is about to happen.
I don't actually. Just following speculation on the SH board interpreted by those using data probably from Stockwatch. Looks like the GYD price is following the volume pattern closely. Think I would still like to average up.
What was your impression of Chile? If we get another big el nino winter, I want to give it a try. In Peru I was traveling with locals that were very well known so I did'nt get the same treatment that I would have on my own. I stayed in Miraflores with a friends family and got to see the perspective of the upper middle class. My friend was an eleven time Bolivar games champion in freestle and 200 IM swimming. He was one of the participants in the movie ' Pieces of Eight' We would order dinner in a restaurant and every one would come out of the back, line up and watch us eat. There's nothing like being a sports star in South America.
There's one big volume bar on MAI with a one cent price change. May be about to move in one direction or the other. Minimizing exposure to Argentina could be a wise plan of action.
Look at this thing bounce off of that upper bolinger band. More copper potential here than anything at a similar market cap in a country no body trusts. Returning from a surf trip in 1973 we all had one saying, Peru sucks.
Talk about a no brainer, no body is watching this thing. It's probably at least equal to CAU for total return by the time the final calculations come in.
This is one to do some research on. The website is well put together, The maps are good. There appears to be a short posiiton building up to provide a potential squeeze. Think I'm going to look into it.
Total Market cap divided by four million acres of active claims, what are the chances of significant apreciation in share price?
Thanks Jack, your depth of experience in the sector gives you a clear advantage in the long view. Your opinion is much appreciated.
Dan, that's going to be a great conference. Wisk I could be there to talk to the CEO of Strongbow.
You know, this is an odd one. Those drill results certainly look passable. Then there is that massive out of range volume day with shoulders on both sides. The price moved up but just barely broke out today on big volume. Is this thing building up energy or absorbing it?
What's that they say about the blind squirel and the acorn? A lot of the time I sit on these things for months. On a day like today I find it hard to believe that I was seeing a situation apparently ahead of the market. Now if I can time that entry on CPQ, Just bid to better than double my position in GYD. We'll see how that goes, I've got a feeling I'm not going to be able to get enough after things begin to pan out.
The point that was made to me by the geologists involved was that the original evaluations have all been inaccurate on El Cairo. They are old friends of Chester's and probably had something to do with his move into the company so this may be rehashed information. However the the position directly next to SSRI's ST. Augustine has got to count for something. I took a fair sized position last week that is starting to look better and better. Now waiting to see signs of an entry in CPQ and a point to average up on GYD. For some unexplained reason, I'm beginning to feel bullish.
