A friend of mine is predicting 11000's this year.
That IS annoying. I'm running out of excuses for those people :)
I must say though, being 57% up on LLEG, it IS hard not to pull the trigger :)
I thought, that was what IHUB stands for... Gotta work on my spelling :)
Sold TCG yesterday at .68. One time I didn't miss on taking profits too early :)
Mostly because I didn't think the market would look any good today.
Nah, they're more into oil than armor nowadays :)
Not all :)
Hmm, looks like they're fighting for peace... Isn't that an oxymoron? :)

Nah, they didn't, it wasn't working too well :)
Man, did you just VOLUNTEER for something??? :)
Not a bad choice, given his way of making money.
I think, what Carnes, and anyone else here, wants is to make money with as little risk as possible. My guess is, he figured out a way that's safe for him (if somewhat unethical and toxic) and sticks to it. I seriously doubt there's more to it.
Does that even work?
I see you got the hang on coping with losses :)
Just standing up for the underdog, the new trader, the... What's becoming of me, I'm a bloody elitist, for Pete's sake! :)
Right, Guido :)
Guess it's a nervous guy. I used to be like that when I started - the tick goes down, and I start worrying about being dragged down with it, and start telling myself something like "yeah, a profit is a profit, so I'll make less but sell for sure, a profit is a profit" :)
Ouch, this is getting personal, I see ;)
Besides, for us to buy, someone had to sell.
I wouldn't judge whoever it is too hard (heck, could've been me, and I hope I won't regret that it's not me :)). He's probably taking profits, and it looks like that's taking him a while (or them, it could be the orders from multiple people).
Likewise, even my very own flak vest :)
Politicians? Ashamed? Yeah, right :)
U.S. troops buy own gear for safety, style in battle

That's one of the reasons pinks get a boost when the market goes down, I think. I've read this sentiment before, and it makes sense, too, as pinks depend on rumors and PRs much more than hard data. In fact, My pink portfolio is usually up when then markets are down, and is often down when the markets are green.
Of course, he's a medical student, that's as close as we got to a veterinarian.
Some, yeah :)
You don't say, they got someone showing at least some sense inside the Beltway. Who would've thought...
Yup, it's the tax thing that cost you the boardmark, I'm sure.
I may be wrong, but I don't think you need an LLC for that, you just need to declare a business (and sole proprietorship should do).
Umm, then Apple lied. WOuldn't be the first time, either, that's one of the problems I have with them as a company. Being a security consultant, I've seen my share of Mac viruses (don't forget that, it being based on UNIX, UNIX viruses, rootkits, and other malware also apply, about 70% of them). Each and every time the user was unaware of the fact that his machine was infected, I just discovered it in the course of doing a security audit of the company. The appalling part was that the companies' IT people went for the same hype (Macs have no viruses), and normally didn't even bother installing antiviruses or host IDS on those machines. Well, in their defense, there aren't that many good antiviruses for Macs, it's mostly the likes of Symantec (Norton Antivirus probably being one of the worst antiviruses out there) who make antiviruses for Macs.
For that matter, there're even exploits for the only Apple product I have - the iPod :)
There're several (documented :)) exploits for iPhone, as well, and two viruses I'm aware of (probably more that I'm not aware of). That's in addition to Apple software updates, which can screw it up better than any exploit would ;)
For that matter, these viruses and exploits even make it to mainstream news, so it's interesting that Apple can talk about "no documented viruses" (if they do, in fact, say that, which I'm inclined to believe, given their record on this).
Well, I did some tax selling in December. Sold most of my long positions that were down on Dec 30-31st, expected to buy them a bit higher in early January, but the way the market was, actually bought them lower. Aside from that, it depends on where you are, some states (like California) have really nasty local taxes on this. Keep all your expenses documented, of course. And well, you're paying the tax on the money you made, so don't waste that money, so you'll at least have something to pay the taxes with. Myself, I put the money I expect to pay in taxes on a separate savings account, and only use it for estimated payments to the IRS. There's no going around that, you will have to pay taxes on what you've earned :)
Right, since in all wars we take part in these days there're no defined front lines. I wonder how we'll handle that situation eventually. Whther we'll let PC dictate it, or do it sensibly (as in "same norms apply to everyone", which is my opinion of a sensible approach). Any thoughts on this?
See, another one of those tax bill-increasing picks... Tsk tsk
I have a complaint to make. WU picks for Dec. 2007 have increased my tax bill. You should be ashamed of yourselves...
Ah, I see. I use Sprint service for my laptop.
When it comes to speed, I use Windows 2003 or Solaris (I prefer it to Linux). But then, I also have an aversion to Apple, so I'm biased :)
Be careful with that "no virus or spam worries" myth though. There're quite a few viruses for Mac (and very few good antivirus packages, since, due to the myth above, Mac users arne't as likely to install an antivirus). Aside from everything else, Mac OS X is built on UNIX, and rootkits originated on UNIX before they even came to Windows. The difference between Mac OS X and UNIX (or Windows, for that matter) though is that Mac OS X is much harder to clean up when it's infected, as Apple locks many things down, which prevents one from doing anything more or less advanced with Mac OS, ncluding cleaning it.
Spam affects every OS just the same, it doesn't originate within one's system.
You might want to make sure Chartinator's email address is in your Safe Senders list (or whatever it's called by your ESP/email client). Also, re-subscribing might work.
How would a Mac help? He has to use his office computer at work.
Well, aside from the fact that you're risking your job, you can use Gotomypc or LogMein to login to your home PC and use that. Don't use Remote Desktop though, as it doesn't support executing Java applets in it, so most trading platforms won't work too well (you can still use the website, of course). Unless, of course, Logmein and Gotomypc are blocked, as well :)
Well, there're many other remote access technologies out there. For that matter, you can use a public proxy server to bypass many blocks. Man, what am I doing here, I'm the one who does the blocking... It feels odd to tell someone how to bypass those. Wouldn't work on my network at work, anyway. :)
Nah, not every share. I think, I'll splurge and give one away, just to prove otherwise. Any takers? :)
Let's hope so. I'm quite comfortable with my position right now though, being so much below the current PPS. Only 50K shares though...
